  • This study aims to analyse the relationship between the sense of community and resident online participation. To solve a variety of social problems in localities, both resident participation and the sense of community have been getting more important. Online voting is a project that is being implemented by the city of Seoul to expand the participation of residents. We surveyed residents living in the apartment complex in Seoul that was participating in with the pilot program for online voting. The empirical analysis shows the sense of community was, indeed, positively related to resident online participation. In particular, shared emotional connection, a component of the sense of community, was the most important factor for the resident online participation.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the current status and effects of online discussion classes in universities. To this end, a survey was conducted on university students attending a total of four universities in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province to diagnose their perceptions of the operation of online discussion classes and their effects. The collected data were analyzed using frequency analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, cross-analysis, F-test, T-test, and Scheffe test by applying SPSS program. As a result of the study, first, it was found that 'non-real-time recorded lessons' and 'real-time interactive video lessons' were mainly conducted at universities after the COVID19 crisis. Second, in the online class method, 'real-time interactive video class' had a positive effect on 'debate class preference' and was found to be more meaningful. Third, college students recognized participation in online discussion classes as a foundation for expanding creative thinking skills, suggesting that strengthening through smooth communication and exchanges based on learners' sufficient cognitive processes on discussion methods and procedures is more helpful.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify changes in the experience rate and level of symptoms of visual display terminal syndrome in college students attending online classes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Data were collected from February 22 to June 8, 2021 at three measurement points. A total of 117 college students were administered a visual display terminal syndrome survey just before online classes (T1), one month after the start of online classes (T2), and three months after the start of online classes (T3). The collected data were analyzed by frequency and percentage, paired t-test, McNemar test, and repeated measures analysis of variance using the IBM SPSS 25.0 program. Results: The intensity of college students' visual display terminal syndrome during online classes increased at T2 and T3 compared to T1. The rate of experiencing back discomfort or pain increased abruptly at T2 compared to T1. The intensity of college students' eye related symptoms and skin related symptoms increased at T2 and T3 compared to T1, while the intensity of college students' psychological symptoms, general body discomfort, and musculoskeletal symptoms increased at T3 compared to T1. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that self-care programs are needed to prevent visual display terminal syndrome in college students who are in long-term online classes.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing learning satisfaction of nursing students in online non-face-to-face classes during COVID-19 pandemic. 138 undergraduate nursing students were recruited from C nursing colleges of C city in Gyungnam. Data was collected using a self-reported online-questionnaire from 5 January to 18 January, 2022. Collected data were analyzed by SPSS/WIN 27.0 program using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. Factor influencing learning satisfaction among undergraduate nursing students on online non-face-to-face classes during COVID-19 pandemic were teaching presence(presence of teacher)(𝛽=.43, p<.001), instructional quality(content qualities)(𝛽=.41, p<.001), Satisfaction of nursing major(satisfaction)(𝛽=.13, p<.001). instructional quality(interface)(𝛽=.12, p=.036), which explained about 85.3% of total variance(F=192.78, p<.001). Therefore, in order to improve class satisfaction in online non-face-to-face classes, it is necessary to operate classes that prioritize the presence of teacher so that learners can recognize and trust the presence of teacher by passionately professional performing. And, among instructional quality, we should be strengthen the usefulness of learning materials, content factors related to tests and assignments, and strive to improve satisfaction of nursing major. In addition, it is necessary to prepare and operate classes that fully consider the interface factors related to the manual composition and system convenience for online classes among the quality factors of classes.

  • A web-based program life-cycle management(PLM) system is introduced to implement the system engineering processes and to provide the development teaceability online. This information system aims for the realization of essential system engineering management techniques currently applied to the space launch system development program including management of configuration and data based on the work breakdown structure(WBS), WBS, bill of materials and properties. The system enhances communication and gives access to the development data with relevant information such as data-to-data relation and approval status/history through the web, and preserve all of the development data throughout the program life-cycle. Further improvement of the system is planned to implement the program managrment pricesses and to provide integrated information useful for the programmatic decision making.

  • When carrying out computer programming, the process of checking and correcting errors in the source code is essential work for the completion of the program. Non-computer majors who are learning programming for the first time receive feedback from instructors to correct errors that occur when writing the source code. However, in a learning environment where the time for the learner to practice alone is long, such as an online learning environment, the learner starts to feel many difficulties in solving program errors by himself/herself. Therefore, training on how to check and correct errors after writing the program source code is necessary. In this paper, various types of errors that can occur in a Python program were described, the errors were classified into simple errors and complex errors according to the characteristics of the errors, and the distributions of errors by Python grammar category were analyzed. In addition, a coding learning process to refer error lists was designed to present a coding learning method that enables learners to solve program errors by themselves.

  • Objectives: The coronavirus disease 2019 has deteriorated mental health, particularly in mothers with elementary school children. Although the country has developed several health promotion programs to preserve mental health, no program has incorporated Korean medicine. Thus, this study focuses on developing vital Korean medicine mental health care programs. Methods: The program follows the Korean medicine health promotion program principles. Guidelines, reports, research, and previous programs were analyzed to form interventions and lecture content. Results: Pellets, hot packs, meditation, lavender oil, and green tea were selected as final intervention strategies. Mental health-related guidelines were analyzed to produce stress management lecture materials. In addition, an operational methods and evaluation tool manual was created. Conclusion: We designed a health promotion program capitalizing on Korean medicine to improve mental health. This program will be assessed and accordingly improved through practical applications.

  • This is a follow-up study to "An Analysis of the Fitting of Plus-sized Women's Formal Jackets in On-line Shopping Malls", in which we compiled basic sizes of formal jackets sold in online retailers for plus-sized women and compared specific measurements of the jackets from each retailer. Emphasizing a comparison of age groups 20-39 and 40-59, fit evaluations and analyses were conducted in order to provide data to help manufacturers develop formal jacket patterns that reflect physical characteristics of plus-sized consumers and offer better physical fit. The surveys and evaluations were conducted between October 2007 and May 2008. and the compiled data were analyzed using the SPSS 17.0 statistics program. The results were summarized as follows. The two age groups gave different evaluations of the fit problems in the women's formal jackets sold in online retailers. Whereas the age group 20-39 felt that the main problems were in the shoulder, armscye, upper arm, waist, abdomen and hip areas, the age group 40-59 said that they found more problems in the armscye, upper arms, sleeve length and jacket length. Modifying the shoulder area, armscye depth and jacket length severely compromises the jacket's balance, and attention to these areas must be given during pattern design.
