The Shannon sampling series is the prototype of an interpolating series or sampling series. Also the Shannon wavelet is one of the protypes of wavelets. But the coefficients of the Shannon sampling series are different function values at the point of discontinuity, we analyze the Gibbs phenomenon for the Shannon sampling series. We also find a way to go around this overshoot effect.

In the one-way random effect model, we often estimate the variance components by the ANOVA method and then estimate the population mean. Whe there are only two distint group sizes, the conventional mean estimator is represented as a weighted average of two normal means with weights being the function of variance component estimators. In this paper, we will study a method which can compute the exact variance of the mean estimator when we set the negative variance component estimate to zero.

A single span-to-depth ratio function is proposed for control of deflection in one-way concrete construction. The equation can be applied to one-way slabs, beams, and flat plates. Effects of cracking, time-dependent deformation, boundary conditions, applied loading, and target deflection-to-span ratio are taken into account.

An ad hoc network is a collection of mobile nodes without any Infrastructure. However, ad hoc networks are vulnerable to attacks such as routing disruption and resource consumption; thus, routing protocol security is needed This paper proposes a secure and efficient routing protocol for mobile ad hoc networks, where only one-way hash function are used to authenticate nodes in the ROUTE REQUEST, while additional public-key cryptography is used to guard against active attackers disguising a node in the ROUTE REPLY.

The one-way gas valve developed in this study was designed to prevent the breakage of packages from increased internal pressure, which is a problem in packaged Kimchi, and simultaneously reduce the outflow of the offodor release. The effect of the one-way gas valve on the headspace atmospheric compositions was investigated in the packaging system. The changes of atmospheric compositions and quality factors of Kimchi, such as $CO_2$ accumulation, pH, titratable acidity, and salinity, were measured during a 4-week storage period at $4^{\circ}C$. The Kimchi package with the one-way gas valve dramatically reduced pressure build-up in the pouch by allowing the controlled flow of gas to the atmosphere. In addition, the package design allows the possibility of controlling the gas generated from Kimchi by adjusting the viscosity of the open pressure control oil. The one-way gas valve did not affect the sensory characteristics of Kimchi products during the storage period. Furthermore, the deodorizing capability of the activated carbon contained in the one-way gas valve effectively reduced the off-odor of Kimchi products released along with carbon dioxide. The novel one-way gas valve is considered to be an active packaging system that can solve major problems of expansion and off-odor leakage in the packaging of Kimchi.

The economic world is full of patterns, many of which exert a profound influence over society and business. One of the most contentious is the distribution of wealth. Way back in 1897, an Italian engineer-turned-economist named Vilfredo Pareto discovered a pattern in the distribution of wealth that appears to be every bit as universal as the laws of thermodynamics or chemistry. The present paper proposes some Bayes estimators of shape parameter of Pareto income distribution in censored sampling. Asymmetric LINEX loss function has been considered to study the effects of overestimation and underestimation. For the prior distribution of the parameter involved a number of priors including one and two-parameter exponential, truncated Erlang and doubly truncated gamma have been contemplated to express the belief of the experimenter s/he has regarding the parameter. The estimators thus obtained have been compared theoretically and empirically with the corresponding estimators under squared error loss function, some of which were reported by Bhattacharya et al. (1999).

Tomas Gutiérrez Alea, internationally famous cuban director, made the film Up to a certain point with a purpose of criticizing the existence of the extreme male chauvinism as 'machismo' in cuban society of 80's despite of many changes of cultural and social paradigms through 60's and 70's. The director gathered the themes and topics of the films like Lucia, One way or another, and Teresa's portrait and analyzed them to present alternatives. The way of approaching to solve that kind of social problems that Alea proposed to the spectator is taking time to think of the problems with a way of "The Viewer's Dialectic". Identification with the protagonist of the film(thesis) and alienation from him(antithesis) could make the audience generalize the diverse aspects of the problem and then one might get an insight(synthesis) to live the life with more satisfaction that is supposed to be a social function of the film as arts according to the director of the film Up to a certain point.

There are several way to classify the furniture. The furniture can be classified into use, style, and function, but if the furniture is classified into the way of production, it can be the industrial furniture and the studio furniture. Especially, technology and function of the furniture are important elements in industrial furniture. However, it could be considered artists' character and concept as more important elements in the studio furniture. The studio furniture had come out one of the historical movement in American furniture field after the World War II. This case to apply found objects began to increase after the 1970s. Using objects In furniture design field had built up sprightly after end of 1950s. This expression could be the statement of new expression that essential properties of matter in objects is removed. I try to suggest original and interesting furniture design to apply found objects in this thesis. Especially, I use the Korean traditional objects for the furniture and try to make their essential function to be changed. Also, I focus on furniture design to have formative element in their shapes.

In this paper we propose a secure multicast key distribution protocol using OFT(One-way Function Trees). The proposed protocol is a hybrid scheme of DKMP(Distributed Key Management Protocol) that guarantees all group member's participation for generating a group key, and CKMP(Centralized Key Management Protocol) that makes it easy to manage group key and design a protocol. Since the proposed protocol also computes group key using only hash function and bitwise-XOR, computational overhead ran be reduced. Hence it is suitably and efficiently adaptive to dynamic multicast environment that membership change event frequently occurs.

This paper deals with security issues in a mobile agent system, especially protecting agent data from malicious agent servers. For this purpose, one-time key generation system, OKGS in short, is proposed. In OKGS, we integrate notions of a one-way hash function and a coupler. One-way function plays a major role in ensuring confidentiality and integrity of agent data. And the notion of a coupler is used to establish inter-relationship among consecutive encryption keys for agent data, i.e. all agent keys form a unidirectional chain. With these two features of OKGS, therefore, only the agent owner, who creates the agent bearing data, can decrypt and protect all the agent data which are gathered in the itinerary.
