다단계 재구성 가능한 광 네트워크상에서 가상 토폴로지 관리 정책 (A Virtual Topology Management Policy in Multi-Stage Reconfigurable Optical Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 광 인터넷의 가상 토폴로지 재구성을 효과적으로 관리하는 정책을 제시한다. 기존의 휴리스틱 기법의 근사 문제를 해결하기 위해 트래픽 예측 기반 다단계 재구성 알고리즘을 바탕으로 트래픽 패턴과 망 혼잡 정도의 변화에 따라 적응적인 토폴로지 재구성 기법을 제시한다. 이 알고리즘은 네트워크의 상태를 고려하여 적정 재구성 시기를 결정함으로써 가상망의 관리를 단순화한다. 시뮬레이션 결과, 제안된 가상망 관리 정책이 물리적인 자원 사용이 제한될 때 기존의 방법에 비해 좋은 성능을 보인다.

  • Commercial coal gasifiers typically use entrained flow type reactors, but have unique features in terms of reactor shape, gasifying agent, coal feeding type, ash/slag discharge, and reaction stages. The MHI gasifier is characterized as air-blow dry-feed entrained reactor, which incorporates a short combustion stage at the bottom and a tall gasification stage above. This study investigates the flow and reaction characteristics inside a MHI gasifier by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in order to understand its design and operation features. For its pilot-scale system at 200 ton/day capacity, the distribution of coal and air supply between the two reaction stages was varied. It was found that the syngas composition and carbon conversion rate were not significantly influenced by the changes in the distribution of coal and air supply. However, the temperature, velocity and flow pattern changed sensitively to the changes in the distribution of coal and air supply. The results suggest that one key factor to determine the operational ranges of coal and air supply would be the temperature and flow pattern along the narrower wall between the two reaction stages.

One-year Survival Rate of Patients with Primary Malignant Central Nervous System Tumors after Surgery in Kazakhstan

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the one-year survival rate of patients with primary malignant central nervous system (CNS) tumors after surgical treatment in Kazakhstan. Retrospective data of patients undergoing operations in the Department of Central Nervous System Pathology in the JSC National Centre for Neurosurgery in the period from 2009 to 2011 were used as the research material. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was performed with the following information: gender, date of birth, place of residence, diagnosis according to ICD-10, the date of the operation, the morphological type of tumor, clinical stage, state at the end of the first year of observation, and the date of death. The study was approved by the ethical committee of the JSC National Centre for Neurosurgery. The overall one-year overall survival rate (n=152) was 56.5% (95% confidence interval (CI): 50.2-62.7), and 79.5% (95% CI 72.2-86.8) and 33.1% (95% CI: 21.0-42.3) for Grades I-II (n=76) and Grades III-IV (n=76), respectively. Significant prognostic factors which affected the survival rate were age and higher tumor grade (Grades III-IV), corresponding with results described elsewhere in the world.

비골 동맥 천공지 피판의 혈관 해부학 (Vascular Anatomy of Peroneal Perforator Flap)

  • Materials and Methods: We studied 50 cases of peroneal perforating branch about branching pattern, course, length of vascular pedicle, and perforating level of the perforating cutaneous branches from Oct. 1985 to November 2003 by doppler flow meter and intraoperative findings. Results: 1) The perforating cutaneous branches were classified into four types, the Straight Branch (27cases), the Proximal Oblique Branch (11cases), the Branch from Muscular Artery (10cases), the Distal Oblique Branch(2 cases) respectively. The most common patten was Straight Branch, that was 54%. 2) There were 3 pathways of these branches, the most common one passed between the Soleus and Peroneus muscles(34 cases, 68%) 3) The length of vascular pedicle in Buoy Flap was variable from from 3 cm to 15 cm, but 32 cases(64%) were distributed between 5 cm and 6 cm. 4) The perforating level of branches were 5.9 cm in average from fibular neck to subcutaneous perforator artery 5) Peroneal Buoy Flap in possible to reconstruct both seperated bone and skin defect in some distance by One-Stage Operation and we can harvest maximal $8{\times}16cm$ sized flap in one perforating artery. If we include more two perforating artery, we get more wide flap which can cover large defect.

  • For the determination of a reservoir capacity Rippl's mass-curve method has long been used with the past river flow data assuming the same flow records will be repeated in the future. This study aims to find out a better method for determining the reservoir capacity by employing the analytical theory based on the stochastic process. For the present study the synthetic generation methods of Thomas-Fiering type was used to synthetically generate 50 years of monthly river inflows to three single-purpose reservoirs and three multi-purpose reservoirs. The generated sequences of monthly flows were analyzed based on the range concept. With the optimum operation rule of the reservoirs as the one which maximizes the water-use downstream the waterrelease from the reservoir was determined and with due consideration to the mean inflows and the range of monthly flows the required reservoirs capacity was stochastically determined. It was possible to repersent the so-determined reservoir capacity in terms of the mean monthly inflows and the number of subseries in the determination of ranges. It is suggested that the result obtained in this study would be applied to approximately estimate, in the stage of preliminary design, the required capacity of a reservoir in question with the limited information such as the mean monthly inflow and the period of reservoir operation.

KGT-74소형 가스터빈 블레이드의 진동 신뢰성 평가 (Evaluation of Blades Vibration Reliabilities of KGT-74 Small Gas Turbine)

  • To ensure a safe operation of the prototype KGT-74 kW small gas turbine, vibrational reliabilities of the compressor 1st, 2nd, and 3rd stages and turbine blades have been estimated and reviewed. FE analyses have been carried out to obtain the natural vibration characteristics of the blades, and impact modal testings have been performed on every each one of the blades to measure their 1st natural frequencies. Then, the Campbell diagram analyses have been carried out to judge the safety of the blades from resonant failures up to 6k harmonics. Results show that the compressor 1st stage blade is exposed to a potential resonant failure with 3k harmonic around a rated speed of 30,000 rpm but that the other compressor 2nd and 3rd stages and turbine blades are safe from resonant failures. Finally, 27,900 rpm is selected as the safe operation limit for the KGT-74 ㎾ gas turbine relative to the blade vibrations.

  • Recently, the use of tubular hydroforming technology has seen increased usage and increased consideration for wide range of tubular automotive applications. In manufacturing hydroformed parts, bending and pre-forming operations are often required prior to the hydroforming process. Higher bending quality of bent tubes is crucial for the successful hydroforming operation because most of plastic strains and wall thinning at the extrados of bend area occur in the bending operation. Springback is also observed due to elastic recovery of tube material after bending. Proper correction of springback is required not only to well place the bent tube into a hydroforming die cavity but also to avoid pinching when the upper die is brought down to closing position. Therefore, prediction of springback at early development stage is one of the key factors to produce high quality hydroformed parts. In this study, a variety of bending experiments has been carried out to investigate springback amount under change in bending angle and material boosting. Throughout the experimental approach, springback characteristics of bent tubes are quantified according to the change in various bending parameters, and a mathematical model to predict correction amount of springback to a given bend angle is found.

LEON3 기반 임베디드 시스템을 위한 디버깅 도구 개발 (Development of Debugging Tool for LEON3-based Embedded Systems)

  • LEON3 is a 32-bit synthesizable processor based on the SPARC V8. It can be connected to AMBA 2.0 bus and has a 7- stage pipeline, IEEE-754 FPU and 256[KB] cache. It can be easily implemented using FPGA and used for a SoC design. DSU which comes with LEON3 can be used to control and monitor the operation of LEON3. And DSU makes it easy to set a debugging environment for the development of both hardware and software for an embedded systems based on LEON3. This paper presents the summary of the debugging tool for LEON3 based embedded systems. The debugging tool can initialize the target hardware, find out how the target hardware is configured, load application code to a specified memory space and run that application code. To provide users a debugging environment, it can set breakpoints and control the operation of LEON3 correspondingly. And function call trace is one of key functions of the debugging tool.

명중확률 개선 및 효율적인 대화력전 수행방안 (An Improvement of Hit-probability and an Efficient Counter-fire Execution)

  • 미래전에 있어서, 전투 초기단계의 대화력전 능력은 적을 무력화 시키는데 핵심역할을 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 효율적인 대화력전 수행방안을 제안하였다. 이를 위해, CEP를 사용한 명중확률을 산출한 후 대화력전 작전시 활용 가능한 새로운 사격제원 계산에 적용하였다. 새로운 표적제원의 타당성 검증을 위해 MANA 모델을 사용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. UAV 운용여부 등을 포함한 다양한 시나리오 상황 하에서 시뮬레이션 수행 결과, 새로운 사격제원산출 방법을 사용한 명중률이 기존의 BTCS 사격제원에 의한 명중률 보다 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

30MW 증기터빈 최종단 회전익 파단 사고 분석 (A Failure Analysis on the Broken Last Blade of 30MW Steam Turbine)

  • In the recently released accident-investigation report on blade failure, almost 70% of blade failures was found at low pressure turbine blades, and it is well known that main cause is due to the vibration modes. This paper describes the systematic approach on the root cause of the blade failure at L 0 stage, 30MW single flow industrial steam turbine which had tripped by high vibration after ten-month commercial operation. A fracture was found at the only one damping wire hole of 59 blades, and crack was detected at three damping wire holes by NDT. According to the analysis result for the crack fracture surface and the chain of the sequential operational events, we come to the conclusion that a typical high cycle fatigue is the most dominant factor caused to the blade failure, the resonance frequency margin was narrowed by the cut damping wire and the high cycle vibration was amplified, and then the blade was broken at once by the centrifugal force when the crack reached the critical size.
