There are many types of walking exercise. We have choice the way according to the walking exercise purpose. Nordic walking(NW) is one of walking types with nordic poles. Also, power walking(PW) has motion of large swing the arm in walking, and dumbbell walking(DW) way is walking with 3-pound dumbbell. This study compared the physiological response(heart rate, energy expenditure) of general walking(GW) to another types(nordic, power, and 3-pound hand weights walking way). Seven apparently male health volunteers between the ages 19 and 24 years participated. Each complete a treadmill test. The tests were assigned randomly, as submaximal walking trials on separate days. Each walking trial was conducted on a level treadmill, for 40 minutes(3-5mile/hour 5min warm-up, 6mile/hour speed for 15min walking and 7mile/hour speed for 15min Jogging exercise, and 5-3mile/hour cool down 5min), at an same pace. Heart rate in beats per minute(bpm), and energy expenditure in kcal per minute(kcal/min) were recorded each minute. Results between trials were compared using repeated measures analysis of variance and Tukey's post hoc tests. In slow walking, it was found that walking with 3-pound hand weight way resulted in and average of ($127.8{\pm}8.27bpm$) the highest score HR, Caloric expenditure($85.4{\pm}14.51kcal/min$), responses compared to regular walking way($117.4{\pm}7.27bpm$ and $70.4{\pm}10.99kcal/min$). Nordic walking way($121.4{\pm}11.74bpm$, and $77.0{\pm}16.83kcal/min$) is second, power walking way($118.5{\pm}9.98bpm$, and $68.7{\pm}20.62kcal/min$) is next. In fast walking, it was found that walking way with 3-pound hand weight resulted in and average of ($160.1{\pm}8.72bpm$) the highest score HR, caloric expenditure($126.1{\pm}13.86kcal/min$), responses compared to regular walking way($148.4{\pm}11.94bpm$, and $109.0{\pm}4.70kcal/min$). Nordic walking way($156.7{\pm}10.82bpm$, and $113.5{\pm}14.51kcal/min$) is second, power walking way($149.7{\pm}12.56bpm$, and $109.2{\pm}17.64kcal/min$) is next. Thus, it is the unavoidable conclusion that, comparing with general walking, 3-pound hand weight walking, nordic walking, and power walking methods have the advantage of high exercise intensity and energy expenditure to meet the purpose of performers without the problem. Furthermore, 3-pound hand weight walking ways were proved to be a useful aerobic exercise method as whole body that achieves high-energy efficiency. To this extent, 3-pound hand weight walking ways can be recommended as a continuous and regulative aerobic exercise for some people.
Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the effects of a PNF intervention using elastic bands on edema, range of motion (ROM), and pain in post-mastectomy patients with upper limb lymphedema, according to their hand grip type. Methods: The subjects were 14 female patients who were at Stage II lymphedema after undergoing mastectomy for Stage II breast cancer. They were randomly divided into an experimental group (n =7) and a control group (n = 7). Both groups participated in a treatment program four times (one time under the therapist's instructions and three times as self-exercise) a week for 4 weeks. Both groups repeated an upper limb PNF pattern exercise for 30 min using elastic bands after receiving a manual lymph drainage treatment for 1 hour. Here, subjects in the experimental group performed the PNF exercise with an open-hand grip by putting their hands into the loops of elastic bands and keeping their fingers spread out. Subjects in the control group performed the PNF exercise with a closed-hand grip by holding the loops of elastic bands with their fingers. In both groups, the subjects' edema, ROM, and pain levels were measured before the intervention and 2, 3 and 4 weeks after the intervention. Results: As a result of the experiment, both groups demonstrated edema reductions, ROM increases, and pain reductions in four areas of the upper limbs. Notably, the experimental group exhibited larger ROM increases in flexion, extension, and abduction as well as greater edema and pain reductions than the control group. In particular, the most significant effects were found in the elbow of the four upper limb areas for edema reductions and in extension for ROM increases. Conclusion: The present study indicates that exercise therapy-based approaches using elastic bands in post-mastectomy patients with upper limb lymphedema can have different effects depending on the type of hand grip (open or closed), which is the body's most distal part. Therefore, these approaches should be based on the conditions of the distal parts of the patient's body for their effective applications in clinical practice.
This paper proposes a deformation method for solving practical nonlinear programming problems. Utilizing the nonlinear parametric programming technique with Quasi-Newton method [6,7], the method solves the problem by imbedding it into a suitable one-parameter family of problems. The approach discussed in this paper was originally developed with the aim of solving a system of structural optimization problems with frequently appears in various kind of engineering design. It is assumed that we have to solve more than one structural problem of the same type. It an optimal solution of one of these problems is available, then the optimal solutions of thel other problems can be easily obtained by using this known problem and its optimal solution as the initial problem of our parametric method. The method of nonlinear programming does not generally converge to the optimal solution from an arbitrary starting point if the initial estimate is not sufficiently close to the solution. On the other hand, the deformation method described in this paper is advantageous in that it is likely to obtain the optimal solution every if the initial point is not necessarily in a small neighborhood of the solution. the Jacobian matrix of the iteration formula has the special structural features [2, 3]. Sectioon 2 describes nonlinear parametric programming problem imbeded into a one-parameter family of problems. In Section 3 the iteration formulas for one-parameter are developed. Section 4 discusses parametric approach for Quasi-Newton method and gives algorithm for finding the optimal solution.
This research aims to enrich the field of decorative designs for the T-shirts of youth clothes. Youth T-shirts have been chosen because they are essential apparel and one of the most important casualwear. T-shirts are probably the number one item sold across the world. Every tourist shop has many of them, worldwide. The decorative ideas have been inspired from some symbols of Coptic arts. This incorporates the cultural power of Coptic art as a vital starting point for new design ideas and development of products. However, the purpose of this research is to make our youth know something about the Coptic arts of Egypt, as a part of their history, and on the other hand for tourists as well. Youth are very suitable tools for spreading our new ideas where they are energetic and full of life. In this work, twenty-one designs are presented inspired from ten Coptic symbols. Five designs have been implemented in three different ways of printing and embroidery, i.e. there are fifteen models have been formed. An opinion poll has been occurred for two groups of youth, one is younger and the other is older, hence T-test has been applied. It is clarified that our designs are approved by the younger group than the older one. The results of this work can offer some good reasons for further investigations on the fashionable decorated designs for youth and tourists as well; in addition to the decoration education development.
This study, dealing with obese bodily figures from the viewpoint of garment shape, was conducted with obese male children of late school ages(nine to eleven years old) to provide data for making ready-made clothing for obese children by directly measuring and analysing the bodily figure of the upper body of them. The results of the study are summarized as follows. 1. According to the basic statistics, for most of obese children the values of the measuring items by ages appeared to be large, and the results of comparison with the National Anthropometric Survey of Korea made in 1997 showed that the values were more large than those of standard physical conditions. 2. It was shown that in the correlation between items the upper breast circumference had a high correlation with all items, and the weight did with the following items such as circumference, height, width and thickness. 3. The results of the principal component analysis showed that six main components hand an explainable power of more than 75.60% for all materials. The first factor was thickness and obesity of the upper body, the second one the height, the third one the length of front and rear sides, the fourth one the width of neck, the fifth one the length of shoulder, and the sixth one the breast width and the wrist circumference.
Objectives: The study was to compare the shaping ability of Reciproc (VDW) and WaveOne (Dentsply Maillefer) instruments compared with ProTaper, Profile and hand instrument during the preparation of simulated root canals. Materials and Methods: Five groups (n = 5) were established. Reciproc, WaveOne, ProTaper, Profile and K file (K-flexo file) were used to prepare the resin simulated canals. A series of preoperative and postoperative images were taken by a microscope and superimposed in 2 different layers. The amount of resin removed from both the inner and the outer sides of the canal was measured to the level of 10 mm from the apical tip, with a 1 mm increment. Results: The mean of resin removal from the inner canal wall was not different from the outer canal wall for Reciproc and WaveOne groups at apical third (1 - 3 mm level). There was no difference in the change of working length and maintenance of canal curvature. NiTi instruments are superior to stainless-steel K file in their shaping ability. Conclusions: Within the limitation of this present study, Reciproc and WaveOne instruments maintained the original canal curvature in curved canals better than ProTaper and Profile, which tend to transport towards the outer canal wall of the curve in the apical part of the canal.
A total of 80 photographs on 29 nights and another total of 44(22 each in B and V) photoelectric observations on 6 nights are secured for P/Halley(1982 ⅰ) for seven months before and after the perihelion passage. The photographic observations have been mode at different places depending on the position of the comet and the development of the tail, while the photoelectric observations were made only with 61-cm reflector at Yonsei University Observatory(YUO). Four most representative photographs are presented only to illustrate the remarkable features of the comet. The second one of these shows a coma with a possible flash activity on 1985 SEPT. 18.56 UT. The third one shows the largest tail recorded among our plates, and the last one prepresents unusual record made on northern hemisphere at a latitude as high as about $33^{circ}$12' N on the occasion of the comet's second perigee on 1976 APR. 11.6 UT. Photoelectric observations, on the other hand, determine the V and B-V of the total and the coma of the comet before its perihelion passage, and exhibit the light variations of 0m.6 in V in an hour and a half. Two new sets of m and n, one before and the other after the perihelion passage, determined based on the collected data, but the values are dissimilar one another significantly.

The university course scheduling problem (UCSP) aims at optimally arranging courses to corresponding rooms, faculties, students, and timeslots with constraints. Previously, the university staff solved this thorny problem by hand, which is very time-consuming and makes it easy to fall into chaos. Even some meta-heuristic algorithms are proposed to solve UCSP automatically, while most only utilize one single algorithm, so the scheduling results still need improvement. Besides, they lack an in-depth analysis of the inner algorithms. Therefore, this paper presents a novel and practical approach based on Tabu search and simulated annealing algorithms for solving USCP. Firstly, the initial solution of the UCSP instance is generated by one construction heuristic algorithm, the first fit algorithm. Secondly, we defined one union move selector to control the moves and provide diverse solutions from initial solutions, consisting of two changing move selectors. Thirdly, Tabu search and simulated annealing (SA) are combined to filter out unacceptable moves in a parallel mode. Then, the acceptable moves are selected by one adaptive decision algorithm, which is used as the next step to construct the final solving path. Benefits from the excellent design of the union move selector, parallel tabu search and SA, and adaptive decision algorithm, the proposed method could effectively solve UCSP since it fully uses Tabu and SA. We designed and tested the proposed algorithm in one real-world (PKNU-UCSP) and ten random UCSP instances. The experimental results confirmed its effectiveness. Besides, the in-depth analysis confirmed each component's effectiveness for solving UCSP.
In order to develop a human hand mechanism, a 5-bar finger with redundant actuation is designed and implemented. an optimal set of acutator locations and link lengths for the case of one redundant actuator is obtained by employing a composite design index which simulataneously consider several performance indices such as workspace, isotropic index, and force transmission ratio. Each joing is driven by an compact actuator mechanism having ultrasonic motor and a gear set with poeneiometer an controlled by VME Bus-based control system.
