  • We get a theorem which shows the existence of at least three solutions for some elliptic system with Dirichlet boundary condition. We obtain this result by using the finite dimensional reduction method which reduces the infinite dimensional problem to the finite dimensional one. We also use the critical point theory on the reduced finite dimensioal subspace.

  • Recently, universities have difficulties in operating the normal curriculum because fresher's basic academic ability is declined. It causes campus misfits so managing students become a rising issue. The education system that focuses only on college entrance exam is one of the reasons why this phenomenon occurred. So, several tries are enacted at university to improve this problem. One of the solutions is enforcing the activity with self-directed Learning Community students to know learning level themselves and execute systematic studying habit is essential for improving this problem. This activity can help students understanding and having interest in class and be motivated to study. But it had burdened tutors with submitting activity report in written form. In this paper, we suggest the Mobile Based Activity Report Submission System which can be the solution of the problem that the Self-directed Learning Community System has. This system reduces the emotional burden to write the reports and manages them efficiently.

  • This study analyzes the effect of CAE class using PBL on professional knowledge acquisition and competency enhancement. The PBL class was applied to 3rd grade students of Dong-Eui University's Department of Automotive Engineering, and a one-year course, and a survey was conducted on satisfaction and effectiveness in the first and second semesters, respectively. With a significant difference in the survey for each semester, satisfaction in the second semester was found to be high, and satisfaction with non-face-to-face information exchange and team activities was high. In addition, it was evaluated to have a positive effect on the improvement of individual competency such as knowledge of subject, command-led learning, problem-solving ability, and communication. This study has educational implications in that it can be used as a quantitative indicator for class improvement and can be used as basic data for course operation.

  • The purpose of the study is to find development of contact area, contact pressure and friction forces occurring at joints or connection areas inbetween structural members or mechanical parts. The problem has a pair of difficulties intrinsically; a constraint of displacement due to contact, and presence of work term by nonconservative friction force in the variational principle of the problem. Because of these difficulties, the variational principle remains in the form of inequality. It is resolved by penalty method and perturbation method making the inequality to an equality which is proper for computational purposes. A contact problem without friction is solved to find contact area and contact pressure, which are to be used as data for the analysis of the friction problem using perturbed variational principle. For numerical experiments, a Hertz problem, a rigid punch problem, and the latter one with friction effects are solved using $Q_2$-finite elements.

  • A Situation-problem, one of the problems in school mathematics, plays a role as the starting point of teaming mathematics. It leads to construct knowledge which is a tool for solving the problems. Whether the problem is a situation-problem or not, it depends upon how to use that problem. Since posing situation-problems is accompanied by prior analysis and planning for teaching in the class, it is a difficult task. This paper focuses on the characteristics of situation-problems and on how their characteristics are realized in the process of classroom instruction. For this purpose, it analyzes the context of classroom instruction to which the 'puzzle problem' model suggested by Brousseau is applied. The model is considered as a typical situation-problem, which aims at proportionality and linearity. In addition, this paper suggests various sources of information that are useful in posing the situation-problems related to the ratio concepts.

  • In this paper, an initial value method for solving a class of singularly perturbed delay differential equations with layer behavior is proposed. In this approach, first the given problem is modified in to an equivalent singularly perturbed problem by approximating the term containing the delay using Taylor series expansion. Then from the modified problem, two explicit Initial Value Problems which are independent of the perturbation parameter, ${\varepsilon}$, are produced: the reduced problem and boundary layer correction problem. Finally, these problems are solved analytically and combined to give an approximate asymptotic solution to the original problem. To demonstrate the efficiency and applicability of the proposed method three linear and one nonlinear test problems are considered. The effect of the delay on the layer behavior of the solution is also examined. It is observed that for very small ${\varepsilon}$ the present method approximates the exact solution very well.

  • The course timetabling problem is a kind of very complex combinatorial optimization problems, which is known as an NP-complete problem. Sometimes a given course timetabling problem can be accompanied by many constraints. At this time, even if only one constraint is violated, it can be an infeasible timetable. Therefore, it is very difficult to make an automated course timetabling system for a complex real-world course timetabling problem. This paper introduces an automated course timetabling system using constraint programming. The target problem has 26 constraints in total, and they are expressed as 24 constraints and an objective function in constraint programming. Currently, we are making a timetable through this system and applying the result to the actual class. Members' satisfaction is also much higher than manual results. We expect this paper can be a guide for making an automated course timetabling system.

  • The recognition of human emotional state is one of the most important components for efficient human-human and human- computer interaction. In this paper, four emotions such as fear, disgust, joy, and neutral was a main problem of classifying emotion recognition and an approach of visual-stimuli for eliciting emotion based on physiological signals of skin conductance (SC), skin temperature (SKT), and blood volume pulse (BVP) was used to design the experiment. In order to reach the goal of solving this problem, half-against-half (HAH) multi-class support vector machine (SVM) with Gaussian radial basis function (RBF) kernel was proposed showing the effective techniques to improve the accuracy rate of emotion classification. The experimental results proved that the proposed was an efficient method for solving the emotion recognition problems with the accuracy rate of 90% of neutral, 86.67% of joy, 85% of disgust, and 80% of fear.

  • A hit-miss transform(HMT) using modified synthetic structuring elements(SEs) for distortion-invariant recognition of multiple objects is proposed. A fundamental problem in an HMT is the determination of the optimal SE needed to improve the false alarm rate, and detect distorted objects with various shapes. The proposed synthetic methods of SE provide good solutions against this problem. One is the multistage synthesis of each true class SE using only set theory, and the other is the multistage synthesis of each true class and false class SE using set theory and SDF(synthetic discriminant function) synthesis method. Simulation results show the proposed methods can be used for the recognition of distorted intraclass objects and the discrimination of similar interclass objects.

  • Can examine cause that the construction industry is faced in crisis of skill exhaustion in two sides. One is the tribe of actuality production manpower by entry evasion and graying of young man class specially new manpower to the tribe of skill manpower. Another is qualitative decline of skill manpower. Generally, problem of the systematic knowledge tribe and the picking up tribe about new technology etc, exists because learn skill for shoulder beyond in spot. In cutting phenomenon of skill that is depended on personal relationships availability with skilled worker in hereafter, problem that worker who is old or enter through rain skilled worker does not learn all life skill is detected. These problems institute entry of young man class and necessity of systematic vocational education training specially new human strength strongly. This study does presentation of way to promote construction industry entry of young man class and improvement way of vocational education training system that can do to train these by function manpower by purpose.
