The dyeing of poly(trimethylene terephthalate)(PTT)/silk mixture fabrics can be accomplished by a two bath dyeing method with separate application of the disperse dyes on the PTT, reduction cleaning of the stained silk and then dyeing the silk with the acid dyes, or by one bath dyeing method with mixed dye ranges, possibly followed by a cleaning treatment. The two bath dyeing method has the advantage of better results with respect to dry cleaning fastness properties thanks to the possibility of an intermediate reduction clear. On the other hand, as compared with the two bath dyeing method, one bath dyeing method with a mixed dye range permits rapid and more reproducible dyeing, without the risk of great difference with respect to the shade of the strike on both substrates as well as savings of time, energy and water usage. This study was carried out to investigate dyeing characteristics of PTT/silk mixture fabrics with disperse dyes/acid dyes by one bath dyeing method in comparison with two bath dyeing method in the interests for rationalization of the dyeing process.

The cotton fabrics were pretreated by sodium 2-(2,3-dibromopropionylamino)-5-(4,6-dichloro-1,3,5-triazinylamino) benzenesulfonate (DBDCBS) at alkaline condition ofroom temperature and then dyed with four disperse dyes having amino groups (C.I. Disperse Yellow 9, C.I. Disperse Red 11, C.I. Disperse Blue 56 and C.I. Disperse Violet 1) at acidic condition of high temperature. A novel hetero-bifunctional bridge compound, DBDCBS, has two reactive groups such as dichloro-striazinyl group and ${\alpha},\;{\beta}$-dibromopropionylamido group. The first has reactivity towards hydroxy group of cellulosic fiber and the second shows reactivity towards amino groups of disperse dye containing amino groups. The results indicate that it is possible to dye polyester/cotton blend at one-bath dyeing using one kind of disperse dye containing amino groups. Therefore, two kinds of dyeing methods such as two-bath process one-bath dyeing and one-bath process one-bath dyeing were investigated and their dyeabilities were compared. The differences between these two methods were negligibly small so that perfect one-bath one-step dyeing of polyester/cotton blend by one kind of disperse dye was achieved.
in order to overcome disadvantage of the conventional two bath dyeing method of polyester/cotton blends, it had prompted significant effort to the development of the one bath dyeing method which can accomplish sayings in time, energy and water usage. Also, when dyeing polyester/cotton blends by the one bath dyeing method, the high salt concentrations needed for the reactive dye can cause particles of disperse dye, used for the polyester component, to aggregate. A supplementary problem that can occasionally be happened is the change of hue that occurs on dyed polyester in an alkaline dyebath. To improve dyeing property of polyester/cotton blends, cotton component was pretreated with epichlolohydrine-trimethylamine hydrochloride in aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide to produce a cationized cotton that can be dyed under neutral conditions with reactive dye in a non-electrolytic or il little electrolytic dyebath. The one bath dyeing method of polyester/cationized cotton blends with disperse dye/reactive dye mixture resulted in a satisfactory dyeing property and color yield in comparison with ordinary two bath dyeing method.
The purpose of this study was to examine improvements in dye uptake, expression of various colors, and color fastness when washed or exposed to light. We examined these improvements by doing the combination dyeing of Juniperus chinensis heartwood and Alnus japonica heartwood extracts. In this study, two combination dyeing methods were used. One-bath dyeing involves combining Juniperus chinensis heartwood extract and Alnus japonica heartwood extract. Two-bath dyeing involves dyeing by sequence, which means that we dyed the Juniperus chinensis heartwood extract first and then dyed Alnus japonica heartwood extract sequentially (or in the opposite order). In terms of improving dye uptake, two-bath dyeing was more effective than one-bath dyeing. For cotton, dyeing Juniperus chinensis heartwood extract first and then dyeing Alnus japonica heartwood extract sequentially showed higher dye uptake in the two-bath method, while for silk, there wasn't much difference in the dyeing order. Through combination dyeing, red-violet color from Juniperus chinensis heartwood and brown color from Alnus japonica heartwood made various Y, YR, R series of color as a result. Moreover, combination dyeing improved fabric's fastness when washed or exposed to light. In the case of cotton, fabric dyed using two-bath dyeing, with Juniperus chinensis heartwood extract being the first dye, showed improvement in fastness to washing and light. And in the case of silk, fastness to washing and light improved regardless of dyeing order in two-bath dyeing.
It is difficult to dye nylon/viscose rayon mixture fabrics by one-bath one-step dyeing method, because acid dyes and reactive dyes require acidic dyebath for adsorption and alkaline dyebath for fixation respectively. In order to overcome the disadvantage of the conventional two bath two step dyeing method of nylon/viscose rayon mixture fabric, it was pretreated with cationizing agent containing chlorohydrine group in aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide. The pretreated nylon/viscose rayon mixture fabrics produced cationized fabrics that could be dyed with acid dyes and reactive dyes under neutral condition. This study was carried out to investigate dyeing possibilities, surface reflectance spectra and color characteristics of cationized nylon/viscose rayon mixture fabrics with acid dyes and reactive dyes in a non-electrolytic and neutral dyebath by one bath one step dyeing method.
The purpose of this study was to examine the change of dyeing ability by K/S values, when dyed in different twisting processes and by one bath system and two bath system, to find possible ways of minimizing the color difference between cotton and polyester in composite yarn. The two types of composite yarn, which had one setting process(CP1) and two setting processes(CP2) were dyed with reactive/disperse dyes in both one bath dyeing system and two bath system. The dyeing ability according to the two different twisting processes was measured, and the values of the CP1 were higher compare to the values of CP2 in both one and two bath dyeing systems. This is because CP1 applied only one setting could shrink dyeing process at 130$^{circ}C$. This shrinkage increased the number of twists in the unit length and increased the yarn density, and this is the reason that the K/S values were measured higher than those of CP2. In wet shrinkage test, in opposition to CP2 only had 0.76$\%$ of the shrinkage rate, CP1 had 3.00$\%$ of the shrinkage rate. Also, the dyeing ability according to the two different dyeing methods was measured, and the values of CP1 and CP2 were both higher when dyed in two bath system. On the other hand, the color differences between cotton and polyester in composite yarns, were smaller for CP2 than that for CP1 and were also smaller in two bath dyeing system than in one bath dyeing system. Therefore, the ways of minimizing color difference between cotton and polyester in composite yarn are to apply enough setting in order to minimize shrinkage in dyeing process and to choose two bath dyeing system.
Because acid dyes and reactive dyes require acidic condition for adsorption and alkaline condition for fixation respectively, it is difficult to dye nylon/cotton blends in one-bath one-step dyeing method. In this paper we tried to find out the suitable dye and dyeing condition for one-bath one-step dyeing of nylon/cotton blends. MNT type reactive dyes showed higher exhaustion on cotton as compared with MCT type dyes at neutral pH, which means that the MNT type reactive dyes are preferable for one-bath one-step dyeing method. The optimum condition for one-bath one-step dyeing of nylon/cotton blends was found to be pH 7. Wash fastness of fabrics dyed with half-milling type acid dyes was superior to that of fabrics dyed with levelling type acid dyes, when MNT type reactive dyes were used together.
Differential dyeing technologies for wool are discussed in one bath dyeing of cationic compound treated wool and untreated wool. By increasing the concentration of cationic compound to wool the k/s value of wool and the color difference (ΔE) between treated and untreated one become higher in one bath dyeing. The proper concentration of cationic compound to wool was 2% in one bath dyeing since the dyeing fastness became lower according to the increase of the concentration.
The conventional dyeing of wool/cotton blends involves a two bath two step method, i.e., after dyeing of the wool component with acid dyes in an acidic dyebath at $100^\circ{C}$, the dyeing of the cotton component with reactive dyes in an alkaline dyebath is performed. In order to overcome the disadvantage of the conventional two bath two step dyeing method of wool/cotton blends, it had prompted significant effort to the development of the one bath dyeing method which can accomplish savings in time, energy and water usage. To improve dyeing property of wool/cotton blends, cotton component was pretreated with cationizing agent containing chlorohydrine group in aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide. This study was carried out to investigate dyeing possibilities of wool/cationized cotton blends with acid dye/reactive dye by one bath two step method.
Dyeing of polyester/cotton blends is usually carried out through the two-bath or one-bath two-step dyeing method using proper disperse dyes and reactive dyes for each fiber. However, the dyeing requires relatively long and complicated procedure as well as there are some problems such as lower dyeability. In the present study, new one-bath one-step dyeing process was investigated using disperse dyes having amino groups and hetero-bifunctional bridge compound(DBDCBS) including dichloro-s-triazinyl groups and ${\alpha},{\beta}$-dibromopropionylamido groups to improve the dyeability of cotton component in polyester/cotton blends. And the one-bath dyeing properties of polyester/cotton blends was evaluated by various dyeing conditions such as pH, temperature and dye concentration, The optimum dyeing condition was pH 4 and $110-120^{\circ}C$. Color fastness were relatively good because of the colvalent bond formation between DBDCBS-reacted cotton fiber and disperse dye.
