  • $Co_3O_4$ nanocrystals have been synthesized via an ordinary one-step calcination of a cobalt-based 2D coordination polymer [Co(tfbdc)(4,4'-bpy)$(H_2O)_2$]. As an anode material for lithium-ion batteries, the obtained $Co_3O_4$ nanocrystals exhibit high reversible capacity, excellent cyclic stability and better rate capability. The reversible capacity of the $Co_3O_4$ nanocrystals maintains $713mA\;h\;g^{-1}$ after 50 cycles at a current density of $50mA\;g^{-1}$. Our results confirm that searching for metal oxides nanomaterials used as anode materials of lithium ion batteries via the calcinations of 2D coordination polymer is a new route.

  • The formation of front metal contact silicon solar cells is required for low cost, low contact resistance to silicon surfaces. One of the available front metal contacts is Ni/Cu plating, which can be mass produced via asimple and inexpensive process. A selective emitter, meanwhile, involves two different doping levels, with higher doping (${\leq}30{\Omega}/sq$) underneath the grid to achieve good ohmic contact and low doping between the grid in order to minimize the heavy doping effect in the emitter. This study describes the formation of a selective emitter and a nickel silicide seed layer for the front metallization of silicon cells. The contacts were thickened by a plated Ni/Cu two-step metallization process on front contacts. The experimental results showed that the Ni layer via SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) and EDX (Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy) analyses. Finally, a plated Ni/Cu contact solar cell displayed efficiency of 18.10% on a $2{\times}2cm^2$, Cz wafer.

  • The art of carpet weaving is the most habitual form of traditional art in Azerbaijan, it reflects a rich inner world and occupies a special place in the history of a national culture's development. The Azerbaijani carpet has always stood out for its plots, ornaments, compositions, and high quality and the Azerbaijani people, faithful to their spiritual values, have protected and developed it throughout the centuries. In this article, several Ganja-Gazakh-type carpets from the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum collection and their artistic and technical characteristics are discussed. Specimens of material, sacred language, and ornamentation are considered. The deepest meaning is embodied in tamga in particular. Tamga is a unique phenomenon serving as an amulet, lineage sign, and self-identification of Turkic peoples. The Gazakh carpets of the Ganja-Gazakh type cover the Gazakh region of Azerbaijan, the Borchali region of Georgia, and the Goycha Lake region of Armenia. Karapapakh Azerbaijani Turks have inhabited these areas since ancient times. Tarakama (nomads) are often equated with the name Karapapakh (black hat). One of the densely populated regions of Tarakama is Gazakh. Gazakh, Garagoyunlu, Salahli, Shikhli, Kamarli, Damirchilar, Gaymagli, Goycali, Daghkasaman, Oysuzlu, Gachagan, and pile carpets with different compositions are woven in the Gazakh carpet weaving center. Large, simple in form, step-shaped or hook-like medallions, horn-shaped patterns, animal images, and stamps with symbols of ancient Turkic tribes characterize the Gazakh carpet weaving group.

  • Among the different cardiovascular disorders (CVDs), the activation of platelets is a necessary step. Based on this knowledge, therapeutic treatments for CVDs that target the disruption of platelet activation are proving to be worthwhile. One such substance, a bioactive 6,7-dihydroxy derived from coumarin, is 6,7-Dihydroxy-2H-1-benzopyran-2-one (esculetin). This compound has demonstrated several pharmacological effects on CVDS as well as various other disorders including diabetes, obesity, and renal failure. In various reports, esculetin and its effect has been explored in experimental mouse models, human platelet activation, esculetin-inhibited collagen, and washed human platelets exhibiting aggregation via arachidonic acid. Yet, esculetin affected aggregation with agonists like U46619 or thrombin in no way. This study investigated esculetin and how it affected human platelet aggregation activated through U46619. Ultimately, we confirmed that esculetin had an effect on the aggregation of human platelets when induced from U46619 and clarified the mechanism. Esculetin interacts with the downregulation of both phosphoinositide 3-kinase/Akt and mitogen-activated protein kinases, important phosphoproteins that are involved in activating platelets and their signaling process. The effects of esculetin reduced TXA2 production, phospholipase A2 activation, and platelet secretion of intracellular granules (ATP/serotonin), ultimately causing inhibition of overall platelet aggregation. These results clearly define the effect of esculetin in inhibiting platelet activity and thrombus formation in humans.

  • This study is to develop a new synthetic method for the nitroarenes via non-electrophilic substitution. Direct nitration at the C-1 position of isoquinoline has never been reported and substitution in isoquinoline under the normal nitration condition occurs at C-5 and C-8. We have demonstrated a facile one-step sythetic method for the nitration of isoquinolines at the C-1 position, which involves the electrophilic attack of a $DMSO-Ac_2O$ complex, followed by nucleophilic addition of nitrate ion to this intermediate. Since the reaction is simple and mild, this method has preparative merit since 1-nitroisoquinolines are not readily accessible by other methods. Application to the synthesis of poly nitroarenes from the corresponding anilines was also described.

  • In this paper, we propose a bulk-load algorithm for $B^+-trees$, the most widely used index structures in database systems. The main characteristic of our algorithm is to simultaneously process all the keys to be placed on each $B^+-trees$ page when accessing the page. This avoids the overhead for accessing the same page multiple times, which results from applying the $B^+-trees$ insertion algorithm repeatedly. For performance evaluation, we analyze our algorithm in terms of the number of disk accesses. The results show that the number of disk accesses excluding those in the redistribution process in identical to the number of $B^+-trees$ pages. Considering that the redistribution process is an unavoidable preprocessing step for bulk-loading, our algorithm requires just one disk access per $B^+-trees$ page, and therefore turns out to be optimal. We also present performance tendancy according to the changes of parameter values via simulation.

  • Many researchers focus on indium contained semiconductors and alloy compounds for their various applications. Electrochemists want to obtain indium contained compounds simply via one-step electrodeposition. First of all, electrochemistry of constituent elements must be understood in order to develop the best condition for the electrodeposition of indium contained compounds. We will review the electrochemistry of indium. Equilibria between indium metal and indium ions and the standard electrode potentials of the equilibria will be reviewed. The electrochemical reactions of indium species are affected by surrounding conditions. Thus dependences of electrochemical behaviors of indium metal and indium ions on various parameters will be reviewed.

  • Benzylideneacetophenones are known as chalcones[1]. The chalcone has been known to be a photo-isomerizable and photo-dimerizable chromophore. The chalcone derivatives were prepared by base-catalyzed condensation of aldehydes and acetophenones, which were substituted with various alkyl chains. The synthesized chalcone was introduced into the t-BOC protected diamine through William synthesis reaction. Photocrosslinkable polyimide was prepared via one-step imidization reaction of DOCDA (5-(2,5-dioxotetrahydro furyl}-3-methyl-3-cyclohexene-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride) and the chalcone introduced diamine using isoquinoline (5 wt%) in m-cresol. The polyimide solutions were spin-coated onto the quartz, silicone wafer and glass substrates and the obtained thin films were irradiated obliquely with linearly polarized UV light.

  • We report a method to fabricate a large-area metal nanowire-grid polarizer. Liquid-bridge-mediated nanotransfer molding (LB-nTM) is based on the direct transfer of metal nanowires from a mold to a transparent substrate via liquid layer. A metal particle solution is used as an ink in the LB-nTM, which can be used for the formation of metal nanowires. The nanowires have higher depth are preferred for high transmittance. The height of nanowires that we made is about 140 nm. Large-area WGP is fabricated with good average transmittance of 74.89% in our measuring range.

  • We report a one-step fabrication method of Poly(9,9-dioctylfluorene) (PFO) nanowire array with pronounced ${\beta}$-Phase. We use liquid-bridge-mediated nanotransfer molding (LB-nTM) which is a new direct nano-patterning method based on the direct transfer of various materials from a mold to a substrate via liquid layer. The formation of the ${\beta}$-phase morphology in the resulting PFO nanowire array was evidenced by the presence of an absorption peak at 435nm. With the collection polarizer oriented parallel to the wire long axis, the PL emission was most intense and an emission dichroic ratio, DRE, of 3.7 was determined. The nanowire array have been investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Also, we simply fabricated structure of device of ITO/PFO nanowire arrays/Al and the electroluminescence spectra were recorded at various applied voltage.
