Simulation을 통한 미세 PUMP 내에서의 유체흐름 연구 (A Simulation Study on Fluid Flowing in Micro Pump)

  • 21세기에 가장 시급하게 확보되어야 하는 기술은 BT(Biotechonolgy)와 NT(Nano technology)를 접목시키는 기술이다. 특히, 이들을 종합한 MEMS 에 관한 연구는 가장 광범위한 분야에서 활발하게 이루어지고 있어 그 기술적 가치가 점차 중요시되고 있다. 본 연구는 Simulation을 통하여 Bio-MEMS 기술에서 사용되는 미세Pump 내에서의 유체흐름을 Fluent 프로그램을 사용하여 알아보고자 하였다. 즉, 미세Pump 내로 유체가 흐를 경우, 유체의 압력변화나 온도변화 및 Model에 따른 유동의 흐름을 관찰하여 미세Pump 내에서의 최적의 외부조건과 최적의 Pump Model을 알아보고자 실험하였다. 유동의 흐름을 조사해 본 결과 Chamber의 유무에 따라 압력과 온도의 변화를 관찰할 수 있었다. Chamber가 있는 경우 압력의 변화가 적었고 온도의 변화 또한 적었다. 따라서 Chamber가 있는 Pump가 유체의 흐름에 영향을 적게 줌을 알 수 있었으며 이는 Chamber가 있는 Pump를 설계하는 것이 필요하다고 할 수 있다.

수중 카고 펌프의 흡입성능에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (A numerical study on the suction performance of a submerged cargo pump)

  • In this paper, effects of inlet shape on the performance of a submerged cargo pump were numerically studied using a commercial CFD code ANSYS-CFX. The inlet shape, especially the gap between pump and suction well, is an important parameter in a point of view of performances of submerged cargo pump due to its effects on the residual and also hydraulic performance of the pump, respectively. To investigate the optimized gap, the overall performance degradations were calculated with the gap. In addition to that, the flow field through the gap was investigated to explain the effect of velocity non-uniformity on the performance of the pump impeller.

  • Previous researches and experiments have already verified that the primary noise source of high pressure tandem axial thpe piston pump is fluid-borne noise from the process of oil distribution between the kidney-shaped port and valve plate. So, many researchers have improved pressure gradients and reduced sound levels by applying pre-compression and pre-decompression metering grooves to valve plate. In practice however, the sound level of th high pressure tandem axial type piston pump is still undesirable. This paper testified the effect of pumping phase of the piston on vibration and noise of th high pressure tandem axial type piston pump on the best of theoretical research in $this^(1)$. Therefore considering the pumping phase of the piston when assembling the tandem axial type piston pump, it is possible to reduce 1.5~2[dB]of sound level.

Exergy Analysis of On/Off Controlled Heat Pump

  • A multi-type heat pump controls the mass flow rate of the working fluid to cope with variable heat loads when it is under dynamic load condition. This paper describes the exergy analysis associated with the unsteady response of a heat pump. First, a basic heat pump cycle is examined at a steady state to show the general trends of exergy variations in each process of the cycle. Entropy generation issue for the heat exchangers is discussed to optimize the heat pump cycle. Secondly, the performance of the inverter-driven heat pump is compared to that of the conventional one when the heat load is variable. Thirdly, the exergy destruction rate of the heat pump with On/Off operation is calculated by simulating the thermodynamic states of the working fluid in the condenser and the evaporator. The inefficiency of On/Off operation during the transient period is quantitatively described by the exergy analysis.

  • This paper considers the vertical pumps resonance and soundness. Normally large vertical pump's rotating speed is low, so the low natural mode can make a resonance on the motor and motor stand assembly. The pump resonance makes a very high vibration and trouble on the pump systems. Thus to avoid pump resonance when the pump is on the resonance region, we give the added mass method and evaluate the structure soundness by computer simulation and test on the site. Furthermore we evaluate the modal sensitivity and expect running conditions by the using ISO10814.

심한 좌심실 부전을 갖는 환자에서 시행한 Off-Pump CABG와 On-Pump CABG의 중단기 성적비교 (The Comparison Study of Early and Midterm Clinical Outcome of Off-Pump versus On-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting in Patients with Severe Left Ventricular Dysfunction (LVEF${\le}35{\%}$))

  • 배경: 심장박동 상태에서 시행하는 관상동맥우회술(Off pump coronary artery bypass grafting, OPCAB) 은 심폐체외순환 하에서 시행하는 관상동맥우회술(On pump coronary artery bypass grafting, On pump CABG)에 비해 합병증이 다소 적은 것으로 보고되고 있다. 저자들은 좌심실 기능이 저하된 환자들에서 OPCAB과 On pump CABG의 단기 및 중기 성적을 평가하여 OPCAB의 유용성을 확인하였다. 대상 및 방법: 2001년 1월부터 2005년 2월까지 동반수술을 시행 받지 않고 관상동맥우회술만을 시행 받은 946명 중 좌심실 박출계수가 $35\%$ 이하인 100명을 대상으로 하였다(OPCAB군 : On pump CABG군 =68명: 32명). 평균 연령은 두 군이 OPCAB군과 On pump CABG군이 각각 62.9$\pm$9.0세와 63.8 $\pm$ 8.0로 두 군의 차이가 없었다. 두 군의 수술 전 위험요인을 분석하고, 수술 결과 및 추적결과를 평가 및 비교하였다. 결과: OPCAB군은 평균 2.75$\pm$0.72개, On pump CABG군은 2.78$\pm$0.55개의 도관을 획득하여, 각각 3.00$\pm$0.79개, 3.16$\pm$0.72개의 원위문합을 시행하였다. 수술 후 사망은 OPCAB군에서만 1명 ($1.5\%$) 발생하였으나 두 군간의 통계적 유의성은 없었다. 수술시간, 수술 후 1일째 CK-MB, 수술 후 기계 환기 시간, 중환자실 체류기간, 합병증 발생률이 통계적으로 유의하게 OPCAB군에서 더 낮았다. 평균 추적 기간은 26.6$\pm$12.8개월(4${\~}$54개월)이었으며, 추적 기간 중 좌심실 박출계수는 OPCAB군과 On pump CABG군이 각각 $27.1\pm4.5\%$$26.9\pm5.4\%$에서 $40.7\pm13.0\%$$33.3\pm13.7\%$로 통계적으로 유의하게 각각 증가하였다. 4년 생존율은 OPCAB군과 On pump CABG군이 각각 $92.2\%,\;88.3\%$, 심장관련 사망에 있어서 4년 freedom rate은 각각 $97.7\%,\;96.4\%$로 두 군간의 차이는 없었으며, 심장관련 합병증과 협심증 발생의 freedom rate도 두 군간의 차이는 없었다. 결론: 좌심실 기능이 저하된 환자들에서 심장박동 상태에서 시행하는 관상동맥우회술은 심장기능을 향상시키고 On pump CABG군에 비해 우수한 수술결과를 보였다. 특히 On pump CABG군에 비해 우수한 단기 성적을 보였으나 중기성적은 차이가 없었다. 따라서 좌심실 기능이 저하된 환자들에 있어서 심장박동 상태에서 시행하는 관상동맥우회술은 안전하고 효과적으로 사용될 수 있는 수술방법이라고 생각한다.

Influence of Blade Outlet Angle and Blade Thickness on Performance and Internal Flow Conditions of Mini Centrifugal Pump

  • Mini centrifugal pumps having a diameter smaller than 100mm are employed in many fields; automobile radiator pump, ventricular assist pump, cooling pump for electric devices and so on. Further, the needs for mini centrifugal pumps would become larger with the increase of the application of it for electrical machines. It is desirable that the mini centrifugal pump design be as simple as possible as precise manufacturing is required. But the design method for the mini centrifugal pump is not established because the internal flow condition for these small-sized fluid machines is not clarified and conventional theory is not suitable for small-sized pumps. Therefore, we started research on the mini centrifugal pump for the purpose of development of high performance mini centrifugal pumps with simple structure. Three types of rotors with different outlet angles are prepared for an experiment. The performance tests are conducted with these rotors in order to investigate the effect of the outlet angle on performance and internal flow condition of mini centrifugal pumps. In addition to that, the blade thickness is changed because blockage effect in the mini centrifugal pump becomes relatively larger than that of conventional pumps. On the other hand, a three dimensional steady numerical flow analysis is conducted with the commercial code (ANSYS-Fluent) to investigate the internal flow condition. It is clarified from the experimental results that head of the mini centrifugal pump increases according to the increase of the blade outlet angle and the decrease of the blade thickness. In the present paper, the performance of the mini centrifugal pump is shown and the internal flow condition is clarified with the results of the experiment and the numerical flow analysis. Furthermore, the effects of the blade outlet angle and the blade thickness on the performance are investigated and the internal flow of each type of rotor is clarified by the numerical analysis results.

CMOS 이미지 센서를 위한 고효율 Charge Pump (High-Efficiency Charge Pump for CMOS Image Sensor)

  • 본 논문에서는 CMOS image sensor(CIS)에서 사용될 수 있는 고 효율 charge pump를 제안하였다. 제안된 charge pump는 CIS의 동작 특성을 활용하여 switching loss 및 reversion loss를 최소화하여 고 효율 동작을 실현하였다. 즉, CIS 픽셀 동작 구간에 따라 local clock driver, 펌핑 커패시터, 그리고 charge 전달 switch의 크기를 역동적으로 조절함으로써 switching loss 를 최소화하였다. 또한, schmitt trigger를 채용한 tri-state local clock driver를 이용하여 non-overlapping 구간이 충분히 확보된 local clock을 공급할 수 있게 함으로써 reversion loss를 최소화하였다. 0.13-um CMOS 공정을 이용한 시뮬레이션 비교 결과, 제안된 charge pump는 구동 전류가 없는 조건에서 기존 구조에 비해 최대 49.1% 전력 소모를 개선하였으며, 구동 전류가 최대인 조건에서는 19.0% 전력 소모를 개선할 수 있었음을 확인하였다.

Efficacy evaluation of syringe pump developed for continuous drug infusion

  • Background: In dental intravenous sedation, continuous intravenous infusion of a low-dose drug requires an infusion pump such as a syringe pump. To develop a new syringe pump for clinical use, the functions of the pump must meet certain international standards. Various safety and efficacy tests must be performed on the syringe pump, as stipulated by these standards, and an approval must be received from the approving agency based on such test results. Methods: The authors of the present study developed a novel syringe pump and performed efficacy evaluation by testing its infusion speed at 1 and 25 ml/h, and infusion performance testing at 2 and 24 h. Moreover, performance evaluation was conducted by comparing the novel pump to an existing pump with the infusion speed varied from 1 to 5 ml/h. Results: In the efficacy testing on the newly developed syringe pump, infusion with the infusion speed initially set to 1 ml/h resulted in infusion speeds of 1.00 and 0.99 ml/h in the 2- and 24-h assessment, respectively. Changing the infusion speed setting to 25 ml/h resulted in an infusion speed of 25.09 and 23.92 ml/h in the 2- and 24-h assessment, respectively. These results show no significant differences when compared with other commercially available pumps. Conclusions: The efficacy testing of the newly developed syringe pump showed the accuracy to be within tolerance. Based on these findings, we believe that the newly developed syringe pump is suitable for clinical use.

동특성을 고려한 열펌프의 엑서지 해석 (Exergy analysis of heat pump in consideration of its dynamic response)
