  • This paper proposed a novel chip type ceramic dielectric antenna by using the advanced meander line technique that the radiational metals are formed on the face of ceramic dielectric(8 ${\times}$ 4 ${\times}$ 1.5 mm, alumina) and both facses of substrate(1.0 mm thickness, FR-4). The performance of the antenna model has a good agreements between measurements and computed results. Resultly, it has a 10 dB return-loss bandwidth(2.4~2.4835 GHz) and 1.7 dBi measured radiation gain for Bluetooth application. The proposed antenna model can overcome the problems of the radiation gain from the small antenna's size.

  • In CDMA-based systems, recently, researches on chip-level equalization have been studied in order to improve receiving performance when supporting high-rate data services. In this paper, we propose Griffiths' algorithm based chip-level adaptive LMMSE equalizers for HSDPA MIMO systems using D-TxAA (dual stream transmit antenna array). First, we will derive two possible structures of Griffiths' algorithm based equalizer, and then compare their performance through computer simulations in various mobile channel environments.

  • In this paper, a new sensor chip with frequency reconstruction range of 2.252 GHz ~ 2.450 GHz is designed and fabricated. On this basis, a self-designed "T-shaped" shell is added to overcome the disadvantage of uneven deformation of the traditional steel shell, and the range of the sensor chip is expanded to 0 kN ~ 96 kN. The liquid metal antenna is used to carry out a step-by-step loading test, and the relationship between the antenna resonance frequency and the pressure load is analyzed. The results show that there is a good linear relationship between the pressure load and the resonant frequency. Therefore, the liquid metal antenna can be regarded as a pressure sensor. The cyclic loading and unloading experiments of the sensor are carried out, and different loading rates are used to explore the influence on the performance of the sensor. The loading and unloading characteristic curves and the influence characteristic curves of loading rate are plotted. The experimental results show that the sensor has no residual deformation during the cycle of loading and unloading. Moreover, the influence of temperature on the performance of the sensor is studied, and the temperature correction formula is derived.

  • In this paper, Dualband internal antenna for GSM/DSC handset is proposed. The antenna has a size of about $38mm{\times}90mm{\times}1mm$, giving a total mobile phone PCB for support and fold type patch of about $30mm{\times}8mm{\times}3.2mm$. This antenna characteriatic facilitates the fine-tuning of the two operating frequencies of 909MHz and 1762MHz in the dualband design. The measured radiation pattern in the E-plane and H-plane for operating frequencies of 909MHz and 1762MHz is compared and analyzed. The designed and fabricated two band internal antenna for GSM/DSC handset have a gain between 0dBi and 2.0dBi at all bands. Also, the electric firld distribution and directivity on human head caused by portable phone is analyzed. An analysis model is composed of a human head model and the antenna mounted on the same ground plane as portable telephone size.

  • In this paper, the proposed package antenna, which is meander line structure with short pin, is miniaturized to realize RF-SoP at 900 MHz RFID band. The RFID BGA(Ball Grid Array) chip is put in a cavity of LTCC Layers. The coupling and cross talk, which are happen between BGA chip and proposed package antenna, are reduced by faraday cage, which consists of ground and via fences, is realized to enhance the isolation between BGA chip and antenna. The proposed antenna structure is focused on the package level antenna realization at low frequency band. The novel proposed package antenna size is $13mm{\times}9mm{\times}3.51mm$. The measured resonance frequency is 0.893 GHz. The impedance bandwidth is 9 MHz. The maximum gain of radiation pattern is -2.36 dBi.

  • We herein present a study on the active phased array antenna for receiving satellite broadcasting that can electrically align its polarization to that of target transmitters in its moving condition or in the Skew angle arrangement of the broadcasting satellite receiver. Hence, we have developed an active phased array structure composed of the self-developed Vivaldi antenna and multifunction core (MFC) chip, receiving RF front end module, and control units. In particular, the new Vivaldi antenna designed in the Ku-band of 10.7 - 14.5 GHz to receive one desired polarization mode such as the horizontal or vertical by means of an MFC chip and other control units that can control the amplitude and phase of each antenna element. The test results verified that cross-polarization property is 20 dB or higher and the primary beam can be scanned clearly at approximately ${\pm}60^{\circ}$.

  • The paper introduces mobile handset multi-band chip antenna to be used on meander line PIFA structure and parasite patch. The proposed antenna uses an FR-4 substrate. The top layer is consist of meander lines PIFA structure to implement GSM900 and is connected with each rad and meander line on the via-hole for maximize space efficiency. The middle layer is designed with the signal line and gap to implement a DCS and PCS bands, the bottom layer which is added to a parasite patch on the ground can be show an adjust of frequency and impedance character by the connection of the radiators of middle layer and coupling. The fabricated antenna with the dimension of $28{\times}6{\times}4\;mm^3$. The ground plane a dimension of $45{\times}90\;mm$, designed by a commercial software CST simulator. The experimental results show that the bandwidth for(VSWR<3) is 90($875{\sim}965$) MHz in GSM900 band operation and 380($1,670{\sim}2,050$) MHz in DCS, PCS band operation. The maximum gains of antenna are 0.25 dBi, 3.65 dBi and 3.3 dBi at resonance frequencies and it has omni-directional pattern practically.

  • A triangular microstrip antenna with T-shaped slits is proposed for tunable dual-band applications. The proposed antenna is designed using chip capacitors as a prototype. From this result the capacitor can be replaced to a varactor diode to control capacitance value. Since the input impedance of the antenna can be varied with the value of the chip capacitors on the T-shaped slits, the resonant frequency may be changed. The return losses are better than 10 dB at the lower band of $0.78{\sim}1.21$ GHz and 20 dB at the upper band of $1.97{\sim}2.17$ GHz, respectively. This antenna has the bandwidth of about 10 MHz and 50 MHz at each band. The peak gains of the antenna yield 0 dBi at the lower band and 3 dBi at the upper band, respectively. Details of the antenna design are described, and its performances are presented and analyzed.
