  • Unlike the commonly used On/Off solenoid, constant attraction force which is independent of plunger displacement is a considerably important characteristic to proportional solenoid of the EPPR Valve. Attraction force uniformity is mainly affected by the internal shape design parameters. Due to a number of shape design parameters, the optimal parameter values are very complex and time consuming to find by trial and error method. Much research has been conducted or are still in progress to find the optimal parameter values by applying various optimization techniques like Genetic Algorithm, Evolution Strategy, Simulated Annealing, or the Taguchi method. In this paper, the design parameters which have primary effects on the attraction force uniformity and the average attraction force are decided by main effects analysis of Design of Experiments. Optimal parameter values are derived using finite-element analysis and a neural network model.

  • An experimental and theoretical study on a pneumatic servo system has been conducted using on-off valves and a pneumatic cylinder. A V/I converter has been designed for rapid rising and falling of the solenoid current, which significantly improves the positioning accuracy and settling time of the servo system by shortening the valve opening time. Pulse width modulation was modified to operate on-off valves effectively. A state feedback controller which feeds back position, velocity and acceleration is used to control the system. The influence of controller gains on the system performance is studied to develop a scheme that automatically adjusts the gains using fuzzy logic theory. It is shown experimentally that the proposed fuzzy logic tuner works satisfactorily. A new method for measurements of valve effective areas is proposed, and a partially polytropic model is applied to simulation of the pneumatic system. Simulated results show good agreement with experimental data.

  • Stout & Snell[1]이 수행했던 설계 과정을 기초로 하여 우주발사체 추진제 가압시스템 설계에 대한 기본적인 내용을 정리한다. 발사체 설계 초기 결정되어야 하는 가압시스템 요구 조건과 전반적인 시스템에 대한 물리적인 모델에 대한 내용을 소개하고, 온/오프 솔레노이드 밸브를 이용하는 가압 제어 시스템 설계에 대한 기본적인 내용 간략히 정리한다.

  • In this study, A special quality analysis and experiment for low power consumption type pneumatic on-off micro valve was performed. And flow characteristics of the micro valve by stroke change was numerically investigated. As a result, it is shown that magnetic force(2.4N) is exerted enough to move poppet with 0.3mm stroke with 0.01 seconds of response time, and that there is no magnetic force emitted by yoke. Under the condition of poppet stroke smaller than about 0.8mm, dynamic pressure acts to poppet wall up to supply pressure level. But, that is decreasing to 40% when poppet stroke is 0.8mm.

  • In this study, an intelligent solenoid valve controller has been developed for automatic maintaining of filters in a dust collecting system. This controller has automatic controllability of solenoid valves' ON/OFF time depending on the clogging status of filters, and then it can extend the filters' lifetimes, decrease the power consumption, and make effective operation of the system possible. This controllability has been executed by the fuzzy theory that utilizes the workers' experimental knowledges, the control expert's knowledges and the differential pressures between the inlets and outlets measured by the sensors.

수소연료전지 자동차 압력 용기용 전자밸브의 온도 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Temperature Characteristics of Automatic Valve for High Pressure Cylinder of FCV)

  • 수소연료전지 자동차 압력 용기에는 연료전지 스택으로 수소의 흐름을 제어하기 위해 전자 밸브가 부착되고 있다. 전자 밸브의 솔레노이드는 전기 신호에 의해 유로를 개폐하는 역할을 하며, 전원이 인가되는 시간이 경과함에 따라 온도가 상승하여 일정 온도에서 포화된다. 특히 온도의 상승은 솔레노이드의 흡인력을 감소시키므로 안정적인 수소 공급을 위해서 설계 시 포화 온도와 온도에 따른 흡인력 특성 파악이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 솔레노이드 설계 변수에 따른 포화 온도 계산식을 제안하고 열 유동 해석을 통해 타당성을 확인하였다. 또한, 온도에 따른 흡인력 변화를 분석하기 위해 전자기장 해석을 수행하였으며 온도 특성 실험을 통해 포화 온도와 흡인력 해석 결과를 검증하였다. 포화온도는 계산식과 해석결과를 비교하였을 때 $5.3^{\circ}C$, 해석 결과와 실험 결과를 비교하였을 때 $5.9^{\circ}C$의 오차가 발생하였으며, 흡인력은 1.0 N, 최대 2.1 N의 오차가 발생하였다.

  • The development of an accurate and energy saving electro-pneumatic regulator that may be applied to a variety of practical pressure control applications is described in this paper. A novel modified pulse width modulation (MPWM) valve pulsing algorithm allows the electro-pneumatic regulator to become energy saving system. A comparison between the system response of conventional PWM algorithm and that of the modified PWM (MPWM) algorithm shows that the control performance is almost the same, but energy saving is greatly improved by adopting this new MPWM algorithm. The effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm is demonstrated through experiments with various reference trajectories.

  • This paper proposes a methodology for the small-displacement-movement of a piston and develops a hybrid control algorithm for the precision position control of a pneumatic rodless cylinder. The pneumatic system uses the voltage-proportional solenoid valves to minimum valve switching since the on/off type valves are create diffculties for accurate position control and induce a lot of valve switching. For the accurate position control a methodology for the small-displacement-movement of the piston is developed and identified experimentally. The main consideration on the development of the hybrid control law is to eliminate a stick-slip phenomenon in the pneumatic control system. This paper addresses these critical issues and presents experimental results for the pneumatic control system.
