  • Exhaustion of fossil fuel resources and high oil price, and furthermore environmental crisis due to emission of carbon dioxide from fossil fuel are serious problems in these days. In order to overcome these problems it is necessary to find and utilize the every energy saving measures and to make maximum utilization of renewable energy resources.   • The burden of housing heating costs has increased as energy prices such as global oil prices (28.1%), LNG (38%) and minerals (100%) have soared due to the Ukraine crisis. Accordingly, an electrically conductive cement composites had developed using waste carbon materials such as waste cathode materials, waste CNTs, and waste carbon fibers, and the heat generation performance was evaluated.

  • Overseas construction industry has performed the leading role in the economic development. In this study, effect of international oil prices, GDP and price index, on the regional international construction contract amount is compared and analyzed. Overseas construction market received a devastating effect due to the 1997's economic crisis. However, the market has remained stable since 1998, and since 2005, the trend has been a surge in new orders.

  • Gasification of rice chaff has traditionally been used to produce a clean fuel suitable for lighting, heating and engine application. Since oil crisis, a series of experimental study has been performed to drive a farm engine by agricultural wastes. We produced a combustible gas from rice chaff with a fixed bed up-draught gasifier system, and applied it to a conventional farm kerosene engine. This experiment was quite successful one. We could drive the farm engine with maximum horse power of 9 PS by rice chaff gas which was fairly competitive to the continuous horse power of 10 PS obtained when kerosene was used. Problems of tar existence in gas have been discussed, but we are confident that these can be solved in near future. Development and application of the gasification process will help our farm economy, not only by conserving petroleum oil but by utilizing agricultural wastes.

  • The oil crisis of the 1970s and the rise in oil prices motivated people to implement energy conservation strategies. Buildings were fitted with additional Insulation and reduced ventilation rates. The reduction of mechanical and natural ventilation rate led to Increases In Indoor pollutant concentrations which result- ed In Increased health risks from Indoor exposure to pollutants. The variable-air-volume /bypass fitration system/VAV/BPFS) is a variation of the conventional VAV systems, The VAV/BPFS is an electronically controlled system that provides costegectlve thermal comfort and acceptable indoor air quality Under controlled conditions In a chamber, a series experiments were performed to compare the ability of a VAV/BPFS to remove Indoor aerosol concentration and to reduce energy consumption no that ability of conventional VAV system. Results show that the VAV/BPFS Increases the effective ventilation rate and removes indoor air pollutant, and maintains acceptable indoor air Quality without sacrificing energy consumption.

  • Due to high oil prices and global warming problems, researching an alternative energy source and decreasing the energy usage will be the key in the future. Unlike other alternative energy sources, geothermal energy is less dependent on the surrounding environment. Geothermal energy is the ideal energy source for buildings due to the simple and space saving installation. The system is semi permanent once it is installed and this will help reduce the energy usage in controlling the climate in buildings. Geothermal energy does not emit carbon dioxide and other gases that are harmful to the environment. Therefore geothermal energy will be the key in solving high oil prices and a decrease in fossil fuels by applying the geothermal energy system to detached house to counter future energy crisis.

  • The most concerning issue of these days is the energy crisis by increasing threat of dependency on foreign oil and its volatility itself. In the situations, the PHEV is drawing attention for the next generation's car which could give a chance to decrease the dependency on foreign oil. As well as, the Korean electric power infrastructure is a strategic national asset that is under utilized most of the time. With the proper changes in the operational paradigm, it could generate and deliver necessary energy to charge the PHEVs which could penetrate the market within few years. In doing so, it would reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve the economics of the electricity industry, and reduce the energy dependency. This paper investigate the technical potential and impacts of using the existing idle capacity of the electric infrastructure in conjunction with the emerging PHEVs technology to meet the majority of daily energy needs of the Korean LDV fleet.

  • 1970년대초의 오일, 쇼크에 이어 현재는 제2차 석유파동에 들어서고 있다. 이의 발단이 된 .78 년말의 이란정변은 이란석유의 감산에 따라 세계적인 공급이 부족하게 되었다. 이에 따라 .79년 초부터 원유가격이 뜀박질하는 결과를 가져와 세계의 Energy가치는 급속한 템포로 변화하였다. 더욱이 1980년 9월부터 2개월 이상을 끌어온 이란-이라크전쟁은 대폭적인 석유감산과 중동산의 원유유통의 문제화 등으로 바렐(bl:Barrel)당 2$의 공식적인 인상과 현물시장가격의 20% 유가 인상은 석유소비국들을 공포의 도가니로 몰아 넣고 있다. 특히 OPEC(석유수출국기구)의 정책은 자원의 보호라는 미명아래 이른바 "More money for less oil"(생산은 적게 수입은 보다 많이) 라는 말로 생산을 억제하면서 원유가격을 인상하여 수입을 증가시키는 방향으로 변해가고 있다. 이와 같은 석유가격의 고등과 공급이 불안정한 상황하에서 미래의 석유사정을 예측한다는 것은 어려운 일이나, 지금까지 발표된 문헌들을 기초로 미루어 보아 금후의 석유사정과 이것이 자 동차용 연료에 어떠한 영향을 미치나 살펴보기로 한다. 살펴보기로 한다.

A Study on Changes in Industrial Value Added Response to Oil Prices in Korean (한국경제의 유가에 대한 산업부가가치 반응변화 연구)

  • Even after 2000, oil prices rose enough to be comparable to the past, but the impact on economic variables was relatively stable. Therefore, this study tries to empirically examine that the response of the Korean economy to oil prices has changed since the 1998 financial crisis, when there was a structural change in the Korean economy. Through empirical analysis, it was tested that the influence of oil prices and producer prices on consumer prices had changed in the period before and after 1998, and that the influence of producer prices on the value-added ratio by industry sector also changed. This means that the transfer of the increase in production cost to consumer prices has been alleviated, and the impact on added value has also been alleviated. Various studies should be conducted to understand the causes of the empirical results, such as changes in the relationship between producer prices and consumer prices, factors in the industrial sector due to rising oil prices, and changes in products.
