Nucleophilic substitution reactions of O-imidomethyl derivatives of phenols with OH- were studied theoretically using the semiempirical AM1 and Solvation Model 2.1 (SM2.1) methods in the gas phase and aqueous solution, respectively. In the gas phase, the two reaction paths, in which the imide (1a) or phenol (1b) is functioning as a leaving group, can occur competitively. In contrast, in aqueous solution, path (1b) becomes more favorable than (1a) because the transition states (TS) of path (1b) are more stabilized by solvent. Differences in solvation energies are caused by the structural differences of TS, i.e., the TS via path (1b) is more dissociative than that via path (1a). Therefore we conclude that the solvent effects play an important role in the hydrolysis of O-imidomethyl derivatives of phenols. However, reactivity is dependent on the acidities of both the imide and the phenol fragments since the ρz values vary progressively from 4.2 (Z' = I) to 2.5 (Z' = IV) as the acidities of imide increase. These are in good agreement with the experimental results.

From Raman spectra, the ${\nu}g$C=O frequencies of 4-substituted benzaldehydes were found to correlate with the ${\sigma}_p$ values of the 4-x atom or group as well as the acceptor number (AN) values of solvents. In various solvents, the ${\nu}g$C=O frequency of benzaldehyde decreased upon the increase of benzaldehyde concentration. This shift was mainly due to the hydrogen bonding between the carbonyl oxygen and/or aldehydic proton of benzaldehyde and the solvent molecules. Over the 1-80 volume % change, the ${\nu}g$C=O frequency of benzaldehyde down shifted from 1709.4 $cm^{-1}$ to 1700.2 $cm^{-1}$ in CCl4 solution and from 1703.0 $cm^{-1}$ to 1698.0 $cm^{-1}$ in $C_2H_5OH$ solution. This is due to the fact that hydrogen bonding between the benzaldehyde and C2H5OH was much stronger than that between the benzaldehyde and the other solvents.

The effects of SiCl$_4$addition on flame structures have been studied in flame hydrolysis deposition (FHD) processes using Coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS) and planar laser induced fluorescence (PLIF) to measure temperatures and OH concentrations, respectively. The results demonstrate that even a small amount of SiCl$_4$ addition can change thermal and chemical structures of H$_2$/O$_2$ diffusion flames. When SiCl$_4$ is added to a flame temperature decreases in non-reacting zone due to the increases in both specific heat and density of the gas mixture, while flame temperature increase in particle formation zone due to the heat release through hydrolysis and oxidation reactions of SiCl$_4$. It is also found that OH concentration decreases dramatically in particle formation zone where temperatures increase. This can be attributed to consumption of oxidative species and generation of HCl during silica formation.

Y$\grave{u}$zh$\grave{e}$ng(鬱證) comes from obstruction of qi by stress. The patient has depressed mood, irritable sign, chest discomfort, costal pain, angry state or some strange feeling on the throat. Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) therapy is base on the theory of interrelation in five elements in oriental medicine. The contents of Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) therapy include five subjugations of five emotions. Anxiety subjugates fear(思勝恐), fear subjugates joy(恐勝喜), joy subjugates pity(喜勝悲), pity subjugates anger(悲勝怒), and anger subjugates anxiety(怒勝思). Forgiveness program is a kind of psychological therapies to decrease the degree of anger and it is included in Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) therapy. In this case, a female patient, 50 years old, who suffered from Y$\grave{u}$zh$\grave{e}$ng(鬱證) with chest discomfort, irritable sign, easily angry state, depressed mood, hot flush, insomnia. We used Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) therapy besides herbal medication, acupuncture to her condition got improved. Therefore we reported it for the treatment.

A ${\beta}-1$,3-1,4-glucanase from the fungus Laetiporus sulphureus var. miniatus was purified as a single 26 kDa band by ammonium sulfate precipitation, HiTrap Q HP, and UNO Q ion-exchange chromatography, with a specific activity of 29 U/mg. The molecular mass of the native enzyme was 52 kDa as a dimer by gel filtration. ${\beta}-1$,3-1,4-Glucanase showed optimum activity at pH 4.0 and $75^{\circ}C$. The half-lives of the enzyme at $70^{\circ}C$ and $75^{\circ}C$ were 152 h and 22 h, respectively. The enzyme showed the highest activity for barley ${\beta}$-glucan as ${\beta}-1$,3-1,4-glucan among the tested polysaccharides and p-nitrophenyl-${\beta}$-D-glycosides with a $K_m$, of 0.67 mg/ml, a $k_{cat}$ of 13.5 $S^{-1}$ and a $k_{cat}/K_m$ of 20 mg/ml/s.

The STEP Cube Lab (Cube Laboratory for Space Technology Experimental Projects) is a 1U cube satellite developed by the Space Technology Synthesis Laboratory of Chosun University to be launched in 2015. Its mission objective is twofold: to determine which of the fundamental space technologies researched at domestic universities, will be potential candidates for use in future space missions and to verify the effectiveness of the technologies by investigating mission data obtained from on-orbit operation of the cube satellite. In this paper, a structural design concept based on the 1U standard to achieve the mission objective is introduced. The validity of the design has been demonstrated by quasi-static analysis and modal analysis. In addition, a non-explosive separation device triggered by burn wire heating, which is one of the main mission payloads is introduced.

We report a case of the cerebellar infarction and pons, medulla and mid brain infarction seen in a 30-year-old female with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE). SLE has been diagnosed at 1992, and treated with western medicine for 10 years. The patient with right hand tremor and dysarthria, as the symptoms of a cerebellar infarction, visited our hospital. During treatment, the patient constantly complained left knee pain, it turned out the bone infarction and ligament injury in the MRI scan at May, 18, 2001, that was the side effect of the long period steroid therapy. At June 1, 2001, the patient revealed quadriparesis, dysphagia and dizziness. So we took the brain MRI scan, it showed pons, medulla and mid brain infarction. As the consequence of the oriental treatments, the symptoms of SLE had the improvement and the values of BUN, Creatinine were improved. But the symptoms of the stroke were not much changed.
