  • Space launch vehicles mainly use the liquid-propellant propulsion system which has easy thrust control ability and high specific impulse for that the payload like satellite and spacecraft should be entered into exact orbit. However, the liquid-propellant propulsion system is very difficult to develop because it is more complicate than the solid rocket propulsion system and demands very high technology. In space launch vehicle developing procedure the system design level is very important thing to reduce cost, shorten schedule, and improve the performance. The system design process was introduced for selecting the best liquid-propellant propulsion system on this paper.

Screening for Korean Vegetables with Anticarcinogenic Enzyme Inducing Activity Using Cell Culture System

  • There is extensive evidence suggesting the protective role of fruits and vegetables against chemically induced carcinogenesis. We have tested the ability of a representative range of Korean vegetables to act as blocking agents against neoplastic initiation by determining the induction level of quinone reductase , an anticarcinogenci marker enzyme, in hepalclc 7 cells exposed to vegetable extracts. Among thirty vegetables tested, Arcitum lappa(Burdock), Brassica juncea (Mustard leaf), Pteridium aguilinum (Bracken) and Chrysanthemum cornoratium(Crown daisy) caused a significant induction of quinone teductase activity with a limited increase in arylhdrocarbon hydroxylase activity. Combination of crown daisy with burdock had synergistic effect on quinone reductase induction. Quinone reductase-inducing activity was found mostly in hesane and ehtylactate fractions of MeOH extract of crown daisy while it ws not quinone reductase activity in liver, kideny, lung, and small intestine, confirming the presence of potent QR inducer (s) in crown daisy. These sata suggest that some vegetables including crown daisy induced QR merits further investigation as a potential cancer preventive agent in human.

  • Mastitis is a common and serious infection of the mammary gland in dairy cattle and has a major economic impact on the production of milk and dairy products. Bacterial mastitis is caused by several pathogens and is most frequently associated with coagulase-negative staphylococci (CNS). Although CNS are typically associated with subclinical or mild mastitis, the importance of CNS has increased as these pathogens have emerged as predominant mastitis-related pathogens in many countries. CNS can cause persistent infections, resulting in increased milk somatic cell counts and thereby affecting milk quality and decreasing milk production. Globally, Staphylococcus chromogenes, S. epidermidis, and S. simulans are the predominant CNS species in dairy cattle mastitis. Antibacterial resistance of CNS varies with species, and most CNS are susceptible to vancomycin and resistant to penicillin and tetracycline. As the most frequently isolated CNS species, some strains of S. chromogenes exhibit phenotypic resistance to ampicillin, erythromycin, oxacillin, penicillin, and tetracycline. Some strains of S. epidermidis and S. haemolyticus are only susceptible to vancomycin and rifampicin. Therefore, more studies are needed to achieve the control and prevention of CNS as environmental pathogens.

  • This study develops a new system for generation system simulation and operational planning (namely, KPWR-X) including GMS(Generator Maintenance Scheduling), UC(Unit Commitment), and LF(Load Forecasting) for new power system environment in recent. The KPWR-X provides operator and planner to help the generation system more safely and economically. GUI developed in this study makes operator feel in convenient to control whole power system. In future, it is expected that generation company, ISO, and fuel procurement, etc. may use an instructional tool developer's suggestion for application. It will be also applicable to establish the operational strategies for generation control, fuel procurement and power system risk management.

  • The heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop during gas cooling process of carbon dioxide in a helically coiled tube were investigated experimentally. The experiments were conducted without oil in the refrigerant loop. The main components of the refrigerant loop are a receiver, a variable speed pump, a mass flowmeter, a pre-heater, a gas cooler(test section) and an isothermal tank. The test section is a double pipe type heat exchanger with refrigerant flowing in the inner tube and water flowing in the annulus. It was made of a copper tube with the inner diameter of 4.85 [mm], the outer diameter of 6.35 [mm] and length of 10000 [mm]. The refrigerant mass fluxes were 200${\sim}$600 [kg/$m^2$s] and the average pressure varied from 7.5 [MPa] to 10.0 [MPa]. The main results were summarized as follows: The heat transfer coefficient of supercritical $CO_2$ increases, as the cooling pressure of gas cooler decreases. And the heat transfer coefficient increases with the increase of the refrigerant mass flux. The pressure drop decreases in increase of the gas cooler pressure and increases with increase the refrigerant mass flux.

전극물질에 따른 단전극 대기압 제트 플라즈마 스트리머 동역학 연구

  • 대기압 제트 플라즈마를 저주파(수-수십 kHz) 전압에서 구동 시, 일반적으로 '스트리머(streamer)'혹은 '플라즈마 총알(plasma bullet)'로 불리는 현상이 특정 운전조건에서 관찰된다. 본 연구에서는 동일 구조의 Ta, Ti, stainless steel, brass, Cu, Ni 전극을 이용하여 전극물질에 따른 대기압 제트 플라즈마의 특성 변화를 분석하였다. 각각의 물질은 서로 다른 이차전자방출계수, 일함수, 전기전도도 등 고유한 성질이 다르기 때문에 이들 전극을 이용하여 발생시킨 제트 플라즈마 역시 다른 특성을 갖는다. Acton SpectroPro750 분광기를 이용하여 얻은 플라즈마 방출광스펙트럼으로부터 구한 전자 여기온도(Texc=680~720 K)와 OH의 분자 회전온도(Trot=350~380K)는 물질에 따라 큰 변화를 보이지 않았으나, 발생된 스트리머 거동에서 큰 차이를 확인하였다. ICCD 카메라를 이용한 시간 분해된 이미지에서 전극물질에 따른 첫 번째 스트리머의 발생시간 및 스트리머 속력, 두 번째 스트리머의 분리시간이 모두 다른 것을 확인하였다. 제일 차이가 심하게 나타나는 Ti과 Cu의 경우 첫 스트리머의 발생시간 차이는 약 $1{\mu}s$이며, 평균속력 및 순간속력이 약 2 km/s 차이가 났다. 이 결과를 통해 물질의 이차전자방출계수 및 일함수가 대기압 제트 플라즈마에서 스트리머 발생에 영향을 주는 것을 알았고, 다른 전극물질을 사용한 제트 플라즈마의 특성이 다름에 따라 여러 응용에서의 결과에도 영향을 미칠 것이라생각한다.

  • We designed new anthracene-based host material to increase color purity as well as device efficiency. The new blue host, 9,10-bis(2,4-dimethylphenyl)anthracene (BDA), has highly twisted structure and wide band gap due to ortho interaction between anthracene and introduced 2,4-dimethylphenyl substituents. BDA exhibited deep blue fluorescence in solution (${\lambda}_{max}$ = 410 nm) and in solid state (${\lambda}_{max}$ = 429 nm), respectively, with the wide optical band gap (E = 3.12 eV). Blue-light-emitting OLEDs using obtained host and 2% Flu-DPAN as emitter showed 8 cd/A of high efficiency as well as high color purity [CIE coordinates = (0.15, 015)].

  • 임베디드 시스템을 인터넷에 접속할 수 있도록 하는 초소형의 임베디드 웹서버는 산업 현장에서 가정에 이르기까지 널리 활용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 인터넷을 통해 DGPS 간이 기준국의 보정 정보를 항체에게 제공하기 위한 임베디드 웹서버를 제안하였다. 제안한 간이 기준국용 임베디드 웹서버는 HTTP 1.0과 1.1 표준에서 제시한 구조를 기반으로 설계 가능하다. HTTP 1.0 표준을 기반으로 한 서버는 클라이언트의 요청을 순차적으로 처리하는 반면, HTTP 1.1 표준을 기반으로 한 서버는 클라이언트에 대하여 독립된 프로세스를 할당하여 처리한다. 간이 기준국에 적합한 서버 구조를 결정하기 위하여 각 서버 프로그램의 구조 및 특징을 비교하고 네트워크 인터페이스를 가지는 GPS 수신기에 상용의 실시간 운영체제를 기반으로 구현하였다. PC 내부에 탑재한 상용의 웹브라우저를 통하여 제안한 임베디드 웹서버에 접속하여 DGPS 간이 기준국의 보정 정보를 수신하는 실험을 수행하였다. 실험 결과 제안한 임베디드 웹서버의 구조가 DGPS 간이 기준국에 적합함을 확인하였다.

Improved Responsivity of an a-Si-based Micro-bolometer Focal Plane Array with a SiNx Membrane Layer

  • A 12 ㎛ pixel-sized 360 × 240 microbolometer focal plane array (MBFPA) was fabricated using a complementary metaloxide-semiconductor (CMOS)-compatible process. To release the MBFPA membrane, an amorphous carbon layer (ACL) processed at a low temperature (<400 ℃) was deposited as a sacrificial layer. The thermal time constant of the MBFPA was improved by using serpentine legs and controlling the thickness of the SiNx layers at 110, 130, and 150 nm on the membrane, with response times of 6.13, 6.28, and 7.48 msec, respectively. Boron-doped amorphous Si (a-Si), which exhibits a high-temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) and CMOS compatibility, was deposited on top of the membrane as an IR absorption layer to provide heat energy transformation. The structural stability of the thin SiNx membrane and serpentine legs was observed using field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). The fabrication yield was evaluated by measuring the resistance of a representative pixel in the array, which was in the range of 0.8-1.2 Mohm (as designed). The yields for SiNx thicknesses of SiNx at 110, 130, and 150 nm were 75, 86, and 86%, respectively.

Research trends in interprofessional education programs related to medication for undergraduate nursing students: a scoping review (간호 대학생을 위한 전문직간 약물관련 교육프로그램의 연구동향: 주제범위 문헌고찰)

  • Purpose: This study investigated how interprofessional education (IPE) related to medication for undergraduate healthcare students, including nursing students, has been designed and conducted. Furthermore, the outcomes of these IPE programs were evaluated. Methods: A scoping review was performed to understand the content and methods of IPE on medication for undergraduate healthcare students, including nursing students. A literature search was done using PubMed, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Embase, Research Information Sharing Service, and Korean Nursing Database in English between January 2000 and December 2022. In total, 14 papers were selected and reviewed. Results: Eleven research studies were conducted on the implementation of one-time IPE on medication safety or errors. Among them, six studies focused on providing IPE to nursing students alongside medical and pharmacy students, while three studies targeted nursing and medical students, and two studies focused on nursing and pharmacy students. The most commonly employed educational method was simulation, which was utilized in 12 studies. All studies consistently reported a positive impact on attitudes toward IPE and effective communication. Additionally, five studies evaluating medication knowledge reported improvements in participants' understanding of drugs. Conclusion: The effects of IPE related to medication for undergraduate nursing students have been confirmed. It is necessary to introduce IPE in the field of pharmacology.
