감각통합치료를 하고 있는 작업치료사의 놀이에 대한 인식 (Play Awareness of Occupational Therapists With Using the Sensory Integration Approach)

  • Objective : This study is to know about the play awareness of occupational therapists with using the sensory integration approach, and is to suggest educational strategies of play as occupation and research. Methods : 124 occupational therapists completed the questionnaires including the general use of play in occupational practice and the use of play assessments with preschoolers, and factors influence on the use of play in occupational therapy for children. Results : Respondents used the play as therapy modality and performed much with based on sensory integration and development approach in individual occupational therapy room with variable play tools. It was restricted to use as objective assessment tools and methods, and had important factors that influence on the use of play in occupational therapy for children; role of occupational therapy in work setting, personal frame of reference and availability of play assessments. Conclusion : The results suggest a need for increasing the emphasis on play in entry-level curricula and continuing education, improving clinician access to valid and reliable play assessments, and completing studies designed to examine the use and efficacy of play in sensory integration therapy intervention.

학령기 아동의 글씨쓰기 중재법에 대한 국내외 문헌 고찰: 2013년부터 2020년까지 (Review of Domestic and International Literature on Interventions for Handwriting Difficulties in School-Aged Children: 2013~2020)

  • Purpose : This study aims to conduct a comprehensive comparison and analysis of intervention strategies utilized for school-aged children facing difficulties in writing, focusing on evaluating the effectiveness of various intervention approaches both domestically and internationally. The primary focus is on assessing the efficacy of each intervention approach and identifying gaps in the existing literature. Methods : Data for this study were gathered from the domestic database RISS from January 2013 to March 2020, and international databases Pubmed and Google Scholar were utilized. The keywords for domestic literature search included 'occupational therapy', 'handwriting', and 'school-aged', while for international literature search, the keywords were 'occupational therapy', 'handwriting', and 'children'. A total of 4 international and 2 domestic articles were selected for review based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results : The study findings present a thorough comparative analysis of intervention strategies, categorizing them into task-oriented intervention, sensory-motor intervention, and integrated intervention. All intervention methods demonstrated notable improvements in the legibility of handwriting. Comparison between domestic and international literature revealed a predominant use of task-oriented intervention in domestic studies, while international studies showcased a diverse range of intervention methods. Conclusion : Interventions were categorized into computer-based, task-oriented, sensory-motor, and integrated interventions. Task-oriented interventions were the most common in both domestic and international studies, while integrated interventions were the most effective. Based on these findings, it is necessary to increase awareness of the need for handwriting intervention research among occupational therapists in Korea. Additionally, there is a need for well-supported handwriting intervention research with larger sample sizes in both domestic and international occupational therapy. Finally, future research should actively investigate the application of tailored integrated interventions for school-aged children with handwriting difficulties.

국내 발달장애 아동·청소년의 작업치료 목표에 대한 체계적 고찰: ICF-CY 모델의 활동과 참여를 중심으로 (Occupational Therapy for Activity and Participation of Children and Adolescents With Developmental Disability: A Systematic Review)

  • 목적 : 본 연구는 발달장애 아동과 청소년을 대상으로 한 국내 작업치료의 중재 목표를 International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health-Children and Youth version(ICF-CY)의 용어를 사용하여 체계적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 연구방법 : Riss, KISS, DBpia를 통하여 2008년 1월부터 2018년 9월까지의 국내 논문을 검색하였다. 검색어는 "아동작업치료", "아동감각통합", "청소년작업치료", "청소년감각통합", "발달장애작업치료", "발달장애감각통합"을 사용하였다. 2차 분류를 통해 최종 7편의 연구를 분석하였다. 연구결과 : 분석 대상 연구의 근거 수준은 개별 실험연구가 가장 많았으며, 중재 대상은 자폐스펙트럼 장애가 가장 많았고, 중재 방법은 감각통합 중재를 가장 많이 적용하였다. ICF-CY의 활동과 참여에 대한 작업치료 목표는 자기관리(33%)와 주요 생활영역(33%), 학습과 지식 적용(11%), 의사소통(11%), 이동(11%) 에서 진행되었다. 결론 : 발달장애 아동과 청소년을 대상으로 한 국내 작업치료 목표는 활동과 참여 영역의 많은 부분에서 진행됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 이를 기반으로 ICF-CY의 활동과 참여 영역에 대한 전문가 중 하나로써 작업치료사의 전문성을 설명할 수 있는 근거가 될 것으로 보인다.

시지각 프로그램이 경직성 뇌성마비 아동의 글씨 쓰기 명료도와 시지각 능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Visual Perception Training Program on Writing Intelligibility and Visual Perception Ability of Children with Spastic Cerebral Palsy)

  • Purpose: This study intends to investigate if visual perception training program has influence on writing intelligibility and visual perception ability of the children who have spastic cerebral palsy. Methods: The subjects were 12 children of 4-8 years old. Classifying them into 2 groups - cerebral palsy children group(6) and normal children group(6), visual perception training program was conducted to the cerebral palsy children group twice a week for 4 weeks. Korean alphabet writing test and Korean-version development test on visual perception(DTVP-2) were used for the test. Result: First, the cerebral palsy children group had significantly lower scores on visual perception than the normal children group. Second, Two groups didn't show significantly difference between before and after the visual perception training program. Third, The normal children group significantly increased at three parts without the visual perception training program. Forth, The cerebral palsy children group significantly increased at the only a part after the visual perception training program Conclusion: For the visual perception ability improvement of cerebral palsy children, it is necessary to systematic and continued intervention. And the study about the effect of the visual perception training program application according to by type characteristic of the cerebral palsy child wishes to proceed.

모션 인식 활용 작업치료가 신경발달장애 아동의 신체적 자기효능감 및 시각-운동통합 능력, 놀이기술에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Motion Recognition Occupational Therapy on the Physical Self-efficacy, and Visual-motor Integration, Interactive Peer Play of Children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of applying occupational therapy that uses motion recognition on the physical self-efficacy, visual-motor integration ability, and play skills of children who have neurodevelopmental disorder before and after treatment. Methods : This The study chose 16 children with neurodevelopmental disorder as research subjects who were randomly and evenly allocated into an experimental group and a control group. The experiment followed a pretest-posttest design. As an intervention, the experimental group received motion recognition-based occupational therapy and a separate sensory integration program. The control group only participated in the separate sensory integration program. The eight-week experiment duration included 24 intervention sessions where the a 50-minute session was implemented three times a week for eight weeks. To compare the physical self-efficacy, visual-motor integration ability, and play skills before and after the intervention, measurement tools including the Physical self efficacy, Beery VMI-6, and Penn interactive peer play scale were used. All measured variables were analyzed and expressed as mean, standard deviation and percentage. Results : The motion recognition-based occupational therapy demonstrated a significant effect on improving the physical self-efficacy, visual-motor integration ability, and play skills of the experimental group. The intervention also caused a significant difference between the experimental group and control group in terms of the physical self-efficacy, visual-motor integration ability, and play skills. Conclusion : We confirmed the possibility motion recognition-based occupational therapy could be effective in improving the physical self-efficacy, visual-motor integration ability, and play skills for patients who have neurodevelopmental disorder. Based on the study result, further future studies are expected based on this study result that prove the application effect of the motion recognition-based occupational therapy using disabled and non- disabled children as subjects are expected in the future.

집단 요리활동 프로그램이 지역아동센터 비장애 아동의 실행기능에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Group Cooking Program on Executive Function of the Non-disabled Children in Community Children's Center)

  • 목적 : 본 연구는 작업에 기반을 둔 집단 요리활동 프로그램이 지역아동센터 비장애 아동의 실행기능에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 지역아동센터를 이용하는 만 6~9세 아동 6명이 2017년 7월부터 2017년 8월까지 본 연구에 참여하였다. 본 연구는 단일 집단 사전-사후 설계로, 지역아동센터 아동들을 대상으로 집단 요리활동 프로그램을 진행하였다. 중재 전 후에 스트룹 아동 색상-단어 검사(STROOP Color and Word Test), 아동 색 선로 검사(Children's Color Trails Test), 운동처리기술평가(Assessment of Motor and Process Skills)를 사용하여 아동들의 실행기능을 평가하여 프로그램의 효과를 측정하였다. 결과 : 중재 전과 비교하여 중재 후 스트룹 아동 색상-단어 검사와 운동처리기술평가의 처리기술 점수가 통계적으로 유의하게 향상되었다(p<.05). 아동 색 선로 검사에 있어 중재 전 점수와 중재 후 점수 간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다(p>.05). 결론 : 본 연구는 지역아동센터 비장애 아동을 대상으로 한 집단 요리활동 프로그램 중재가 인지적 억제 실행기능과 수행 실행기능에 효과가 있음을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 작업에 기반을 둔 중재 접근이 지역사회의 다양한 대상들에게 적용될 수 있음을 시사한다.

대한감각통합치료학회 주최 제2회 감각통합치료캠프(치료과정) 보고 (Sensory Integration Therapy Camp(Treatment Course) Report)

  • Objective : Korean Academy of Sensory Integration(KASI) planned and executed sensory integration Therapy Camp to serve intensive sensory integration program for children with the sensory integrative dysfunction, to support their family with parent' education and home programs, and to suggest practical guideline for therapists through individual supervision and demonstrations. Methods : The camp was held during 5days in the children's center for developmental support that set up sensory integration tools. The camp executed the individual and group interventions that consisted of 7 children with sensory integrative dysfunction, especially dyspraxia and 7 therapists who manage them and 6 supervisors. Results : Children which served the intensive intervention showed the improved adaptive responses during the camp and their parents reported the satisfaction degree of the camp program was 83%. Their therapists also had a chance to understand the broader sensory integrative interventions through the supervision. Conclusion : To provide the clients for qualitative sensory integration service, the camp must be programmed that children with the sensory integrative dysfunction can service the intensive sensory integration program and their therapists can actually experience reeducation individually through supervision and demonstrations.

장애 아동 및 청소년에게 가상현실(VR) 기반 작업치료 중재가 미치는 영향: 체계적 고찰 (Effect of Virtual Reality-based Occupational Therapy Interventions for Disabled Children and Adolescents: A Systematic Review)

  • 목적 : 본 연구의 목적은 장애 아동 및 청소년에게 적용한 가상현실(Virtual Reality; VR) 기반 작업치료 중재의 효과와 적용 방법에 대해서 체계적으로 분석하고자 한다. 연구방법 : 2012년 1월부터 2022년 8월까지 RISS, DBpia, KCI, Science direct, CINAHL MEDLINE에서 문헌을 검색하였다. 주요 검색용어로 '가상현실', '작업치료', '아동', '청소년', 'Virtual Reality', 'Occupational Therapy', 'Child', 'Adolescent'을 사용하였다. PRISMA의 Flowchart 4단계를 거쳐 총 16편의 문헌을 분석 대상으로 선정하였다. 결과 : 선정된 16편의 연구에서 장애 아동 및 청소년에게 사용된 VR 기반 작업치료 중재가 유의미한 효과를 보였다. 중재 대상자는 뇌성마비 유형 중 편마비 아동을 대상으로 한 연구가 가장 많았으며, 효과 측정에 사용된 평가도구는 일상생활활동, 인지, 운동기술, 사회적-상호작용기술, 시-지각 평가이었다. 중재 도구로는 Nintendo Wii와 Microsoft Kinect가 운동기술 및 일상생활 향상을 위하여 가장 많이 사용되었다. 결론 : 본 연구를 바탕으로 향후에는 장애 아동 및 청소년의 진단과 중재목적에 맞는 VR 도구 선택과 구체적인 방법의 제시를 통하여 VR중재가 임상에서 더욱 효과적으로 사용될 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.

학령 전기 아동의 글씨 쓰기에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Factors Influencing Handwriting of Preschool Children)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the relationships of handwriting legibility and perceptual-motor skills, and handwriting speed and perceptual-motor skills. And identified the predictors that most affect the handwriting of preschool children. Methods: Twenty-three typically developing preschool aged children (mean age: 68.61 months, SD=2.04) were selected through the Korean-Denver Developmental Screening Test-2(K-DDST-2). The children were tested with regard to handwriting legibility, visual perception, visual-motor integration and fine-motor coordination. Results: First, a significant relationship was not found among handwriting legibility, visual perception, visual-motor integration and fine-motor coordination. Second, a significant relationship was found among handwriting speed, visual perception and fine-motor coordination. Third, stepwise multiple regression analyses showed that general visual perception were significant predictors for handwriting speed. Conclusion: Occupational therapists should evaluate children's visual perception levels utilizing a standardized test, and focus on general visual perception in order to improve handwriting skill(speed). Also, occupational therapists are expected to play an important role in the management and treatment of children's handwriting skills.

  • 목적 : 학령전기 아동의 글씨 쓰기 명료도 및 속도와 지각-운동 기술의 상관관계를 확인하고, 글씨 쓰기에 가장 영향을 주는 요인을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 덴버 발달 선별 검사를 통하여 정상 발달로 선별된 23명의 학령 전기 아동(평균 연령=68.61개월, SD=2.04)을 대상으로 글씨 쓰기 명료도 및 속도 측정을 위하여 한글 자모 쓰기 검사지를 사용하여 자음과 모음을 쓰도록 하였다. 시지각과 시각-운동 통합 수행 능력 측정을 위하여 시지각 발달 검사를 사용하였고, 소운동 협응 수행 능력 측정을 위하여 Grooved pegboard test를 사용하였다. 결과 : 글씨 쓰기 명료도와 전반적인 시지각, 비운동성 시지각, 시각-운동 통합, 우세손 소동작 협응의 상관관계는 없었으며, 글씨 쓰기의 속도는 전반적 시지각과 우세손 소동작 협응 항목에서 유의한 상관관계를 보였다. 회귀 분석 결과 글씨 쓰기 속도에 가장 큰 영향을 주는 요인은 전반적 시지각 항목이었다. 결론 : 만 5~6세 학령 전기 아동의 전반적 시지각 능력의 발달을 향상시키기 위한 중재를 제공하는 것이 글씨 쓰기의 속도 능력을 향상 시킬 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있다.
