데이터마이닝을 이용한 관측적 침하해석의 신뢰성 연구 (A Study on the Reliability of Observational Settlement Analysis Using Data Mining)

  • Most construction works on the soft ground adopt instrumentation to manage settlement and stability of the embankment. The rapid progress of the information technologies and the digital data acquisition on the soft ground instrumentation has led to the fast-growing amount of data. Although valuable information about the behaviour of the soft ground may be hiding behind the data, most of the data are used restrictedly only for the management of settlement and stability. One of the critical issues on soft ground instrumentation is the long-term settlement prediction. Some observational settlement analysis methods are used for this purpose. But the reliability of the analysis results is remained in vague. The knowledge could be discovered from a large volume of experiences on the observational settlement analysis. In this article, we present a database to store settlement records and data mining procedure. A large volume of knowledge about observational settlement prediction were collected from the database by applying the filtering algorithm and knowledge discovery algorithm. Statistical analysis revealed that the reliability of observational settlement analysis depends on stay duration and estimated degree of consolidation.

압밀해석을 위한 $\sqrt{s}$- 예측기법 ($\sqrt{s}$- Observational Procedure for Consolidation Analysis)

  • 지반의 불균질성, 토질상수의 측정에 연관된 오차. 압밀이론의 단점 등으로 예측된 압밀침하량 및 시간은 항상 실측치와 잘 일치하지 않게 된다. 압축성 지반 위에 성토가 이루어질 때, 최종 침하량과 압밀시간을 예측하기 위한 예측기법은 실무에서 유용한 수단이다. 그러나, 기존의 예측기법들에 의한 침하곡선에서 직선을 찾기가 어렵거나, 개인오차를 피할 수 없는 등의 단점을 내포하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 새로운 예측기법($\sqrt{s}$법)으로 현장에서 압밀해석을 수행하기 위하여 제안되었다. 두 현장에 대하여 $\sqrt{s}$-법과 함께 다른 기존의 방법들을 적용한 결과, $\sqrt{s}$법과 Asaoka법에 의해 예측된 최종침하량은 실측치와 좋은 일치를 보여주었으나, 쌍곡선법(Tan, 1991)에서는 항상 과대평가된 결과를 또한 Hoshino 법에서는 많은 경우에 예측이 불가한 결과를 보여주었다.$\sqrt{s}$- 법에 의한 침하곡 선상에서 평균압밀도가 60%와 90% 사이에서 직선을 나타내고 있어서 개인오차를 유발할 가능성이 희박하였다. $\sqrt{s}$- 법에 의하여 예측된 최종압밀시간은 실측치와 잘 일치하고 있는 반면에 Asaoka 와 Tan(1996) 방법에 의한 결과는 아주 과소평가되거나 과대평가되었다. 이러한 이유는 후자의 두 방법에서 단계성토의 영향이 고려되지 못했기 때문인 것으로 사료된다.

  • This study aims to compare six observational methods for assessing arm- and hand-intensive tasks, based on literature review. The comparison was conducted in viewpoints of body regions, force/external load, motion repetition, other factors including static posture, coupling, duration/break, pace, temperature, precision task, and final risk or exposure level. The number of risk factors assessed was more, and assessment procedure was more complex than the observational methods for assessing whole-body postural loads such as Ovako Working Posture Analysis System(OWAS), Rapid Upper Limb Assessment(RULA), and Rapid Entire Body Assessment(REBA). Due to these, the intra- and inter-reliabilities were not high. A past study showed that while Hand Arm Risk Assessment Method(HARM) identified the smallest proportion of the work tasks as high risk, Strain Index(SI) and Quick Exposure Check(QEC) hand/wrist were the most rigorous with classifying most work tasks as high risk. This study showed that depending on the observational technique compared, the evaluation factors, risk or exposure level, and evaluation results were different, making it necessary to select a technique appropriate for the characteristics of the work being assessed.

면색정보취득 制御條件 표준화 및 윤택측정방안 설계 (Standardization of Inspection and Imaging of Facial Color, and Design of Gloss-detecting Method)

  • In order to make digital processing of facial color, standardization methods of photographing and observational requirements and gloss-detecting are done through preceding papers and actual experiences. Examiner's observational informations should be contained with original and temporary color, normalcy and deviation range and gloss. And these are interrelated with time, interior and exterior temperature, emotional state, so should be recorded too. Picturing procedure should be controlled in simple and practical but objective way. Just water cleansing, 15 to 20 minute resting, prohibiton of moisturizing of examinee are common for examiner. Temperature and moisture, width, light source requirement, brightness, polarizing filter of parlor and camera-to-object distance, posture of examinee are should be recorded. In addition, pre and post-revision of color and manifestation of color space after taking images are needed coping with construction of diagnostic database.

  • Epidemiological studies typically examine the causal effect of exposure on a health outcome. Standardization is one of the most straightforward methods for estimating causal estimands. However, compared to inverse probability weighting, there is a lack of user-centric explanations for implementing standardization to estimate causal estimands. This paper explains the standardization method using basic R functions only and how it is linked to the R package stdReg, which can be used to implement the same procedure. We provide a step-by-step tutorial for estimating causal risk differences, causal risk ratios, and causal odds ratios based on standardization. We also discuss how to carry out subgroup analysis in detail.

  • This paper discusses about how to build up mixed-effects model for analysing ordinal response data by using cumulative logits. Random factors are assumed to be coming from the designed sampling scheme for choosing observational units. Since the observed responses of individuals are ordinal, a proportional odds model with two random effects is suggested. Estimation procedure for the unknown parameters in a suggested model is also discussed by an illustrated example.

A Test for Equality Form of Covariance Matrices of Multivariate Normal Populations

  • Given a set of data pxN$_{i}$, matrices X$_{i}$ observed from p-variate normal populations $\prod$$_{i}$~N($\mu$$_{I}$, $\Sigma$$_{i}$) for i=1, …, K, the test for equality form of the covariance matrices is to choose a hypothetical model which best explains the homogeneity/heterogeneity structure across the covariance matrices among the hypothesized class of models. This paper describes a test procedure for selecting the best model. The procedure is based on a synthesis of Bayesian and a cross-validation or sample reuse methodology that makes use of a one-at-a-time schema of observational omissions. Advantages of the test are argued on two grounds, and illustrative examples and simulation results are given.are given.

작업평가방법론 및 현장 적용 고찰 (A Survey on the Workload Evaluation Methods and Their Applications to WMSD Work in Industries)

  • To identify and evaluate the risk factors in WMSD work, a number of ergonomic workload evaluation methods have been developed. In the legal examination of WMSD risk factors, simple observational workload evaluation methods are widely used instead of using costly measurement equipments such as EMG and motion analyzer. The simple workload evaluation methods can be categorized into three groups; risk factor checklist methods, posture observation methods, and manual material handling task evaluation methods. In terms of the categories, this survey summarized several representative workload evaluation methods and compared them each other. Then some industrial application cases referring each the workload evaluation methods were surveyed. Due to the characteristics of each method, the selection and application procedure of workload evaluation method should be appropriate for the corresponding work. Therefore, some guidelines for the selection and application procedure of workload evaluation method were suggested.

Methodology for real-time adaptation of tunnels support using the observational method

  • The observational method in tunnel engineering allows the evaluation in real time of the actual conditions of the ground and to take measures if its behavior deviates considerably from predictions. However, it lacks a consistent and structured methodology to use the monitoring data to adapt the support system in real time. The definition of limit criteria above which adaptation is required are not defined and complex inverse analysis procedures (Rechea et al. 2008, Levasseur et al. 2010, Zentar et al. 2001, Lecampion et al. 2002, Finno and Calvello 2005, Goh 1999, Cui and Pan 2012, Deng et al. 2010, Mathew and Lehane 2013, Sharifzadeh et al. 2012, 2013) may be needed to consistently analyze the problem. In this paper a methodology for the real time adaptation of the support systems during tunneling is presented. In a first step limit criteria for displacements and stresses are proposed. The methodology uses graphics that are constructed during the project stage based on parametric calculations to assist in the process and when these graphics are not available, since it is not possible to predict every possible scenario, inverse analysis calculations are carried out. The methodology is applied to the "Bois de Peu" tunnel which is composed by two tubes with over 500 m long. High uncertainty levels existed concerning the heterogeneity of the soil and consequently in the geomechanical design parameters. The methodology was applied in four sections and the results focus on two of them. It is shown that the methodology has potential to be applied in real cases contributing for a consistent approach of a real time adaptation of the support system and highlight the importance of the existence of good quality and specific monitoring data to improve the inverse analysis procedure.

한의사의 진단, 설문지, 맥진을 이용한 미병 관리에 관한 관찰적 임상연구 (Observational Clinical Study on Mibyeong Based on Korean Medicine Diagnosis, Questionnaire, and Radial Artery Tonometry)

  • Objectives : This study was conducted to reveal the relationship between multiple factors of traditional Korean Medicine diagnosis and consider the further probabilities of treating people with physical and mental problems not defined as diseases, which is called 'Mibyeong' in traditional Korean Medicine. Methods : 40 healthy participants were included in the observational clinical trial. The participants were asked to complete health questionnaires (e.g. State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Stress Response Inventory) and they went through a traditional diagnosis process, including four stages of diagnosis (looking, listening/smelling, inquiring, and pulse taking), by a Korean Medicine doctor. Both the Korean Medicine doctor and an artery tonometry device performed the pulse diagnosis. Results : Although all participants were healthy people with no history of disease, more than half of participants had a problem related with severe level of fatigue (n=19), sleep disturbance (n=26) and stress (n=27) status according to the related questionnaires. Participants diagnosed with phlegm syndrome by the Korean Medicine doctor showed significantly greater score in phlegm pattern questionnaires than participants who were not. However, there was little agreement between the doctor's pulse diagnosis and radial artery tonometry results. Conclusions : We conducted a pulse diagnosis and measured health-related information along with the traditional Korean Medicine diagnose procedure, including four stages of diagnosis, and we found a linkage between diagnosis of phlegm and the phlegm pattern questionnaire score. The results suggest that a number of healthy participants, with no disease diagnosed, have Mibyoung symptoms which need further clinical management. Thus, we suggest that Mibyoung management programs based on qualified diagnosis tools and traditional Korean medicine diagnosis procedures be developed, and that future research using various diagnostic tools be carried out on a large population.
