  • This paper suggests a technique, TELOR(Technique of Object Extraction Based on Legacy System Interface for Improvement of Object Reusability) for reuse and reengineering by analyzing the Legacy System interface to distill the meaningful information from them and disassemble them into object units which are to be integrated into the next generation systems. The TELOR method consists of a 4 steps procedure: 1) the interface use case analysis step, 2) the interface object dividing step, 3) the object structure modeling step, and 4) the object model integration step. In step 1, the interface structure and information about the interaction between the user and the Legacy System are obtained. In step 2, the interface information is divided into semantic fields. In step 3, studies and models the structural and collaborative relationship among interface objects. Finally, in step 4, object model integration step, integrates the models and improves the integrated model at a higher level. The objects integration model created through TELOR provides a more efficient understanding of the Legacy System and how to apply it to next generation systems.

  • This paper defines the prototype of the geographic-object field that links the geographic-object and the geographic-field using an object-oriented geographic information system, and then implements the flood simulation in the saemangeum water resources management system that manipulates the water quantity of saemangeum lake and the height of gate using the watershed-object field. This paper combines the natural phenomena with the artificial phenomena that occurs on the water resources of the saemangeum, and designs the object oriented class hierarchy that is composed of the total watershed-object field, and then presents the algorithm for flood control. To visualize the class hierarchy of the whole geographic-object field and the partial geographic-object field, I use the UML(Unified Modeling Language). Attributes and methods of each class can acquire the functional reusability and compatibility using the COM of the ZEUS and the Visual Basic 6.0 of Win32 APIs. By means of implementing the flood simulation in the Saemangeum water resources management system, finally, this paper contributes on the efficient management of water resources.

  • This paper describes the development of a cylindrical-object grasping force measuring system applied haptic technology to measure the grasping force of strokes patients' fingers and other patients' paralyzed fingers. Because the cylindrical-object and the force measuring device of the developed cylindrical-object grasping force measuring system are connected with the electrical wires, patients and their families have difficulty not only measuring the patients' grasping force using the system but also knowing their rehabilitation extent when using it. In this paper, the cylindrical-object grasping force measuring system applied haptic technology was developed, and the cylindrical-object grasping force measuring device sends data to the rehabilitation evaluating system applied haptic technology by wireless communication. The grasping force measurement characteristic test using the system was carried out, and it was confirmed that the rehabilitation extent of the patients' paralyzed fingers and normal people fingers can be evaluated.

  • In this paper, we proposed that stereo camera system using fuzzy control for moving object tracking. We extract some features of the moving object from overall image. This informations send to the PC and the PC calculate the coordinate of the object in the image frame. To make the object set in the middle of the image, the step motor should be controlled accurately and rapidly with the location information received by the PC. Then we design a fuzzy logic system for controlling stereo camera system. To verify the better performance of the proposed algorithm, we exemplified by experimental results.

  • Recently, many efforts have been made for research and application of object tracking system. However, introduced object tracking algorithms have limitations to adopt a realtime object tracking system with multi camera. In this paper, we present a novel background generation and target object recognition algorithm for realtime object tracking system with multi camera and implemented it.

  • Object Generator is a software to provide simulation object data(aircraft, ship, submarine, missile, torpedo) for sumulators in LBTS(Land Based Test System). but there is a burden to the system, because Object generator needs to send many object's data, display objects in a tactical screen, show object's information in a list in 1 second. This paper suggests a parallel software structure taking a few factors(deadlock, dependency) into consideration. At last, the paper shows the performance of the parallel structure's software compared with the former structure's software.

  • This paper discusses practical strategies for transition from a pinching to a power grasping, where a multi-fingered hand mounted on a robotic arm envelops a cylindrical object on a table. When the manipulation system grasps a cylindrical object like a pen on a desk, a complete enveloping is not impossible in the initial configuration. The system firstly pinches the object only with two or three fingers and then grasp it with fingers and a palm after regrasping. In this pinching-grasping transition maneuver, human unconsciously selects proper strategy according to some conditions including object dimensions and initial pinching positions. In this paper we therefore develop six possible strategies for this pinching-grasping transition and then investigate their performances for some objects with various dimensions and various grasping positions, using numerical simulations. Based on their results, effective strategies are implemented by using a hand-arm system.

  • In this paper, we present an object-based modeling and language for an object-oriented spatio-temporal database system. For handling the structure of spatio-temporal objects and the spatio-temporal operators, we propose the two layers of data modeling: a spatio-temporal object model (STOM) and an spatio_temporal internal description model (STIM). We then propose STOQL, a spatio-temporal object-oriented query language. STOQL provides an integrated mechanism for the graphical display of spatial objects and the retrieval of spatio-temporal and aspatial objects.

  • Nowadays software developers are moving from conventional software process technologies to the object-oriented paradigm. To develope the object-oriented softwares efficiently, various software metrics have been suggested. Coupling refers to the degree of independence between components of the system. It has long been well known that good software practice calls for minimizing coupling interaction. Many researches have been studied coupling metrics of the object- oriented systems. We review Chidamber and Kemerer's work & Li's work. In this paper, we study the coupling of the overall structures of object-oriented systems by analyzing the class diagram of UML. We propose four coupling metrics for object-oriented softwares. First, we use an established coupling metric for object- oriented systems as a basic coupling metric. Then we modify the basic coupling metric by including indirect coupling between classes, We also suggest two relative coupling metrics to measure coupling between subsystems. We investigate the theoretical soundness of the proposed metrics by the axioms of Briand et al. Finally, we apply the presented metrics to a practical case study. This coupling metric will be helpful to the software developers for their designing tasks by evaluating the coupling metric of the structures of object-oriented system and redesigning tasks of the system.

  • Collision avoidance system is important to improve the robustness and functional safety of autonomous vehicles. This paper proposes an object-level distance estimation method to develop a collision avoidance system, and it is applied to golfcarts utilized in country club environments. To improve the detection accuracy, we continually trained an object detection model based on pseudo labels generated by a pre-trained detector. Moreover, we propose object-aware depth estimation (OADE) method which trains a depth model focusing on object regions. In the OADE algorithm, we generated dense depth information for object regions by utilizing detection results and sparse LiDAR points, and it is referred to as object-aware LiDAR projection (OALP). By using the OALP maps, a depth estimation model was trained by backpropagating more gradients of the loss on object regions. Experiments were conducted on our custom dataset, which was collected for the travel distance of 22 km on 54 holes in three country clubs under various weather conditions. The precision and recall rate were respectively improved from 70.5% and 49.1% to 95.3% and 92.1% after the continual learning with pseudo labels. Moreover, the OADE algorithm reduces the absolute relative error from 4.76% to 4.27% for estimating distances to obstacles.
