  • This paper deals with the position determination problem of stereo camera systems used as a sensor for 3D robotic manipulation. Stereo cameras having parallel rays of sight and been set up on the same baseline are assumed. The distance between the sensor and the space measured is determined so as to get insensitive parameters to the uncertainty of control points used for calibration and to satisfy the error condition set by considering the repeatability of the robot. The baseline width is determined by minimizing the mutual effect of 3D positional error and stereo image coordinate error. Unlike existing techniques, the technique proposed here is developed without complicated constraints and modelling process of the object to be observed. Thus, the technique of this paper is more general and its effectiveness is proved by simulation.

  • In the field of control technology, too, it is about time that the students should free themseleves from the paradigm of Newtonian mechanics. Otherwise, they might fail to grasp the essence of control. Now, let us consider the essence of control. Control consists of manipulating a particular object, matter, energy of environment on the basis of certain medium information. (measurement data, force, etc.) So, we shall look into the methods of manipulation. Here, we consider natural control, constraining control, and hybrid control as basic methods of manipulation. In this paper, we would like to put forward the daring proposal that it's called a Holon-type hybrid control system. It is intended to control a plat with complicated or unknown characteristics where a conventional control theory is not easy to apply. A prototype system has been developed and applied to a real plant. The control system is a multi-layer system. Each layer includes different control input. The important features of the system are as follows: 1) Each layer behaves autonomously and also cooperates with each other to optimize the whole plant. 2) The controller optimizes a plant without mathematical models when these models are not easy to obtain.

  • Internet banking is widely used in our life with the development of the internet. At the same time, phishing attacks to internet banking have been increased by using malicious object to make unfair profit. People using internet banking service in Korea is required to install security modules such as anti-virus and keyboard protection. However phishing attack technique has been progressed and the advanced technique such as memory hacking defeats the security module of internet banking service. In this paper, we describe internet banking security modules provided by Korean internet banks and analyze how keyboard encryption module works. And we propose an attack to manipulate account transfer information using javascript. Although keyboard protection module provides two functions that protect leakage and manipulation of account transfer information submitted by users against the malicious program of hackers. Our proposed technique can manipulate the account transfer information and result html pages.

  • Manipulation of complex objects with an anthropomorphic robot hand like a human hand is a challenge in the human-centric environment. In order to train the anthropomorphic robot hand which has a high degree of freedom (DoF), human demonstration augmented deep reinforcement learning policy optimization methods have been proposed. In this work, we first demonstrate augmentation of human demonstration in deep reinforcement learning (DRL) is effective for object manipulation by comparing the performance of the augmentation-free Natural Policy Gradient (NPG) and Demonstration Augmented NPG (DA-NPG). Then three DRL policy optimization methods, namely NPG, Trust Region Policy Optimization (TRPO), and Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO), have been evaluated with DA (i.e., DA-NPG, DA-TRPO, and DA-PPO) and without DA by manipulating six objects such as apple, banana, bottle, light bulb, camera, and hammer. The results show that DA-NPG achieved the average success rate of 99.33% whereas NPG only achieved 60%. In addition, DA-NPG succeeded grasping all six objects while DA-TRPO and DA-PPO failed to grasp some objects and showed unstable performances.

  • Conventional hypermedia systems provide a simple data model based on nodes and link, and give us the limited capability in information retrieval such as browsing and navigating following the links. In this paper, we design and implement a hypermedia system (AHEAD) with enhanced data modeling and querying capability, which are strongly supported in object-oriented database technology. The AHEAD makes it possible to model the accurate data semantics and relationships in application domain, to represent useful information related to nodes and links, and to define the structure and manipulation operations of multimedia data. It also support the various querying capabilities by using modeling information.

  • In a real-time indoor place recognition system using image features detection, specific markers included in input image should be detected exactly and quickly. However because the same markers in image are shown up differently depending to movement, direction and angle of camera, it is required a method to solve such problems. This paper proposes a technique to extract the features of object without regard to change of the object scale. To support real-time operation, it adopts SURF(Speeded up Robust Features) which enables fast feature detection. Another feature of this system is the user mark designation which makes possible for user to designate marks from input image for location detection in advance. Unlike to use hardware marks, the feature above has an advantage that the designated marks can be used without any manipulation to recognize location in input image.

  • To realize a robot hand interacting like a human hand, there are many tactile sensors sensing normal force, shear force, torque, shape, roughness and temperature. This sensing signal is essential to manipulate object accurately with robot hand. In particular, slip sensors make manipulation more accurate and breakless to object. Up to now several slip sensors were developed and applied to robot hand. Many of them used complicate algorithm and signal processing with vibration data. In this paper, we developed novel principle slip sensor using separation layer. These two layers are moved from each other when slip occur. Developed sensor can sense slip signal by measuring this relative displacement between two layers. Also our principle makes slip signal decoupled from normal force and shear force without other sensors. The sensor was fabricated using the NBR(acrylo-nitrile butadiene rubber) and the Ecoflex as substrate and a paper as dielectric. To verify our sensor, slip experiment and normal force decoupling test were conducted.

  • Spatial analysis in GIS provides an important way that helps the end-users decision-making. For such a reason, query model for analysis should be able to support the users view conceptually in constructing query statements. The traditional approaches in design of query model used to extend the functionality of model that basically designed for manipulation of attribute-operations by appending operators for spatial operations to the query statements of model. However, by the reason of spatial operation's characteristics that are different from those of attribute operations In nature, the structures of query statements in previous approaches are unnatural, inconsistent, and therefore those query models in previous approaches are not able to support the users view in retrieving analysis. In this paper, we proposed the methodology for constructing of user query and internal processing this query based on object-oriented paradigm, in the view of spatial operations by using the basic concept that spatial query is a methodology for spatial analysis. In addition, we presented a strong possibility of designing spatial query model that might actively have interaction with its user by implementing CIW(Class-Information Window) query interface corresponded with the methodology proposed in this paper.

  • The ability of the robot gripper to handle a wide range of objects significantly impacts its operational effectiveness. Among the robot grippers commonly used, the economically feasible choice is the relatively simple structure of a parallel gripper. To perform more densely packed tasks with a parallel gripper, it should be capable of handling small objects. Therefore, this study designs a parallel gripper mechanism equipped with assisting grippers to ensure smooth grasping of small objects. The parallel gripper is designed using a rack and pinion gear system, with two additional grippers on both side, and these assisting grippers are designed to be detachable. The two assisting grippers have different type of tip to grasp thin fabric shapes and thin stick shapes. The gripper prototype is used to verify the grasping capabilities for shapes achievable with a conventional parallel gripper and those intended for grasping with the assisting grippers through grasping experiments. Consequently, by equipping a conventional parallel gripper with assisting grippers as in this study, it becomes capable of handling a broader range of objects, in addition to its existing functionality.
