VRI bands CCD photometric observations of the BL Lac object OJ 287 have been carried out during the period from October, 1994 to May, 1996. OJ 287 underwent two major outbursts during our observations. The first peak (V14.0 mag.) occurred in the first half of November, 1994 and faded out to 16.5 mag within 150 days. The second peak (14.0 mag.) was observed in late December, 1995. The latter peak continued at nearly the same brightness until May, 1996. Such a long lasting outburst has never been reported for OJ 287. Color indices (V - R and V-I) remained nearly constant during the outbursts.

This is a study regarding the development of cultural products with applied traditional Saekdong-image. The objective of this study is to develop unique cultural products which combine traditional korean images with modern feel by utilizing traditional Saekdong-image. Saekdong has been an object of deep attachment and regarded as a tool for expressing korean images from ancient times to the present. Chosun dynasty shows a wonderful growth of fashion not only in dress but also in such accessories as patchwork wrapping-cloth and Saekdong, which imply a lot on formation or color arrangement. Approximately 24 pieces of cultural products that can be used in daily life were created using Saekdong, including traffic or credit card cases, name card cases, pouches, coin purses, bags, Vest, teapot wrapping-cloth, brooch. After design plans were made for each works, natural dyes were used to dye(dip dyeing) the fabrics(cotton, silk, linen) by theme. In addition, the increased quality of the products will be a competitive edge in the world market where products compete with no national bounds.

In this paper, we propose a face detection method for medical service robot. The proposed method is robust in complex background and light. Our method is performed by three steps. Firstly the background is eliminated using mean shift algorithm. Thereafter, based on color space, face is extracted. Finally the object is extracted using Haar-like feature method. To assess the effectiveness of the proposed system, it was tested and experimental results show that the proposed method is applicable for medical service robot.

This paper presents a new technique for corner shape based object retrieval from a database. The proposed feature matrix consists of values obtained through a neighborhood operation of detected corners. This results in a significant small size feature matrix compared to the algorithms using color features and thus is computationally very efficient. The corners have been extracted by finding the intersections of the detected lines found using Hough transform. As the affine transformations preserve the co-linearity of points on a line and their intersection properties, the resulting corner features for image retrieval are robust to affine transformations. Furthermore, the corner features are invariant to noise. It is considered that the proposed algorithm will produce good results in combination with other algorithms in a way of incremental verification for similarity.

최근 지능형 차량과 ADAS(Advanced Driver Assistance System) 개발에 있어 차량 영상을 이용한 도로 정보 분석이 중요한 화두로 떠오르고 있다. 다양한 도로 정보 중에서 도로표지판 검출 및 판단은 차량 운행 환경을 파악할 수 있는 중요한 과정이 될 수 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 차량 영상에서의 색상 정보를 이용하여 표지판의 후보 영역을 추출(Candidate Generation)하고, 후보 영상에 대한 HOG(Histogram of Gradient) 특징 분석을 통해 도로표지판 여부와 그 종류를 판단(Object Classification)하는 알고리즘을 구현하였다. 또한 구현 알고리즘은 실시간 처리가 가능한 속도를 보여주어 지능형 차량 또는 ADAS에서의 실제 적용이 가능하도록 하였다.

In this paper we propose a method for verifying video in a video telephony system implemented in DM6446 DaVinci Processor. Each frame is categorized either error free frame or error frame depending on the predefined criteria. Human face is chosen as a basic means for authenticating the video frame. Skin color based algorithm is implemented for detecting the face in the video frame. The video frame is classified as error free frame if there is single face object with clear view of facial features (eyes, nose, mouth etc.) and the background of the image frame is not different then the predefined background, otherwise it will be classified as error frame. We also implemented the image histogram based NCC (Normalized Cross Correlation) comparison for video verification to speed up the system. The experimental result shows that the system is able to classify frames with 90.83% of accuracy.

대용량의 멀티미디어 자료를 기반으로 하는 산업의 급성장은 이에 적합한 효율적인 저장 및 검색시스템을 요구하고 있다. 그러나, 멀티미디어 자료의 고차원적인 특성은 저장과 검색에 있어 성능을 저하시키는 문제점으로 지적되고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위하여 멀티미디어 자료로부터 저차원의 특성을 추출하여 내용기반 검색을 수행하는 연구가 진행되어오고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이미지내의 객체 MBR(Minimum Bounding Rectangle)을 이용하여 저차원의 색상정보와 모양정보를 추출하는 기법을 제안한다. 히스토그램정보는 이미지의 객체를 포함하는 MBR을 이용하여 9개의 타일로 균등분할하여 추출하며, 모양정보는 객체 MBR의 중심으로부터 16방향의 스캐닝을 통해 16개의 점으로 구성된 모양정보를 추출한다. 실험을 통하여 추출된 정보의 검색성능을 평가하였다.

In this paper, fuzzy logic controllers are designed for compensation of distance errors. Because we can't know information of the depth in a mono camera, these errors are occurred. Also, they are increased as a target object is to keep away from a center of image. Therefore, the errors for each position of joints of an arm robot should be modeled, but accurate models can't be obtained because of no information of the depth, uncertain feature points of image, parameter uncertainties, and illumination. Hence, fuzzy logic controllers for each error are designed for compensation. This paper consists of color image processing, error modeling, and the controller design. Experimental results are given to verify the effectiveness of our proposed method.
