This paper proposes new algorithms for cloudy area detection by GHA (Generalized Hebbian Algorithm) and SOFM (Self-Organized Feature Map). SOFM and GHA are unsupervised neural networks and are used for pattern classification and shape detection of satellite image. Proposed algorithm is based on block based image processing that size is 16${\times}$16. Results of proposed algorithm shows good performance of cloudy area detection except blur cloudy area.

At the moment, the operation methods for pad switch are different due to the differences of the manufacturer and the types or ratings of pad switches; accordingly, various types of the operation tools are required for the operation of pad switch. Sometimes, the operator uses conductive tool made of metal, or there is no sufficient space around the pad switch for operation and these kinds of problems are related with the potential safety accidents of the operators. Therefore, to solve these problems, new universal operation tool for pad switch, which only needs the change of operation head for various types of pad switches, has been developed. With this new tool, durability and safety of the operator can be achieve.

Local governments in Korea are involved in three types of online shopping sites : 'direct operation', 'outsourced operation', and 'sales agency.' They are different in terms of the site operator and the charging mechanism among a local government, the site operator, and local producers. This study analyzes their differences in site traffic, local producers' participation, promotion, and partnership. The results from the investigation of 72 shopping sites are the following. First, shopping sites of the 'direct operation' type and the 'outsourced operation' type show significantly higher participation of local producers. Second, the 'marketing agency' type has significantly higher number of promotional activities than the 'oursourced type' which has significantly higher number than the 'direct operation' type. Third, the number of partnerships in the 'marketing agency' type is the highest. The 'direct operation' type is the second and significantly higher than the 'outsourced type.' On the basis of the analysis results, this paper suggests an incubation ecosystem model as a better way of involvement by local governments in online shopping sites.

Recently, KARI implemented the receiving and processing system for MODIS sensor data from NASA EOS satellites (TERRA and AQUA). This paper shows the development strategy considered, system requirement derived, system design, characteristic and test results of processing system. System operation concept and sample image are also provided. Implemented system was proven to be fully operational through lots of pass operations activities from RF signal reception to level-1 processing.

Operation a subway company requires high amount of early construction, operation and maintenance costs. Seoul Metro, one of the public subway companies in Seoul, Korea, has undergone operational deficit from its establishment, and the main reason is that the early construction and operation cost exceed the total revenue. Therefore, detailed researches on current operation system and possible alternatives are conducted to settle down finance trouble of the company. In particular, problems on operation and ticketing systems are analyzed, and based on that, necessity and detailed plan of railroad pass for one day are introduced and analyzed.

The operation of express train on the Seoul Metropolitan Subway Network is centered on the Kyungbu and Kyungin lines and the short section between Dongducheon station and Ganyung station which is 20.7km long. It is true that the needs of many customers who want to reduce their commuting hours by express train is not satisfied. This paper proposes that the operation of express trains be enlarged to Sungbuk station on Kyungwon line which comes to 34.9 km long, and to Yangsu station from Youngsan station on Jungang line. The type of operation is mixed one with high and low speed trains, which operates express train by use of existing siding tracks without improving facilities such as extra building of sidings. This pragmatic study is to apply the goal of reducing running time as express train and to suggest the selection of appropriate stops, effectivenes analysis of express train operation and formation of train diagrams to actual operation.

Automatic Operation based on ATO (Automatic Train Operation) is necessary for driverless Light Rail Transit business. When this kind of driverless LRT operation plan is made, TPS (Train Performance Simulation) is traditionally simulated at all-out mode and coasting mode based on manual operation. Commercial schedule speed equals to all-out speed minus $9{\sim}15%$ make-up margin. Coasting mode TPS simulation is also run at commercial schedule speed to calculate run time and energy consumption. But TPS based on manual operation should make an improvement on accuracy in case of driverless LRT operation Plan. In this paper, new fast mode TPS simulation using ATO pattern is proposed and show near actual ATO result. The actual ATO pattern can be accurately simulated with the introduction of 4 parameters such as commercial braking rate, jerk, station stop profile and grade converted distance. Normal mode TPS simulation for commercial schedule speed can be designed to have fast mode trip time plus 3 seconds/km margin recommended by korean standard LRT specification.

For a central cooling system of a medical facility composed of absorption chiller and screw chiller, the study was conducted on how to minimize the energy cost. In consideration of the energy cost, the optimal operation method in which the operation method of the heat source is changed according to the size of the cooling load was derived through simulation analysis. When applying the optimal operation method, the indoor environment, energy consumption, and energy cost were analyzed and compared with the reference operation method.

The ∗w-operation on D is a star operation defined by I∗w = {x ∈ K | xJ ⊆ I for a nonzero finitely generated ideal J of D with J∗ = D}. In this paper, we study two star operations {∗} and [∗] on D[X] defined by A{∗} = ∩P∈∗w-Max(D) ADP [X] and A[∗] = (∩P∈∗w-Max(D) AD[X]P[X]) ∩ AK[X]. Among other things, we show that Cl∗(D) ≅ Cl[∗](D[X]) if and only if D is integrally closed.

In this research, a real-time tele-operation system for unmanned excavator using the LTE communication system is suggested. The distance between the operator and the excavator is limitless as long as the LTE communication available. The motion and video data of the excavator is synchronized using the Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) and streamed to the operator for immersion feeling. The video is played on the operator's monitor and the motion data is used to regenerate the excavator movement on the developed master platform. In general, a excavator is tele-operated using RF signal and the maximum distance for direct control is limited to within a hundred meter. In this research, the immersion tele-operation system is suggested for excavator operation within an 100ms time delay using the developed master platform, the VCU and LTE communication. A successful test run of the suggested tele-operation system has already been performed between an operator in Songpa (Seoul) and a excavator in Ansan (Gyeonggi-do) which is approximately 35 km apart.
