  • Isolated oculomotor nerve palsy (ONP) attributable to mild closed head trauma is a distinct rarity. Its diagnosis places high demands on the radiologist and the clinician. The authors describe this condition in a 36-year-old woman who slipped while walking and struck her face. Initial computed tomography did not reveal any causative cerebral and vascular lesions or orbital and cranial fractures. Enhancement and swelling of the cisternal segment of the oculomotor nerve was seen during the subacute phase on thin-sectioned contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance images. The current case received corticosteroid therapy, and then recovered fully in 13 months after injury. Possible mechanism of ONP from minor head injury is proposed and previous reports in the literature are reviewed.

  • This paper presents an overview of ONP deinking efficiency with cellulolytic enzymes and synthetic collector in alkaline pH. Deinking is a series of unit operations designed to detach ink from cellulose fibers and separate the dispersed ink from the pulp slurry. Deinking chemicals are process aids that enable expensive mill equipment used in these unit operations to operate more efficiently - often much more efficiently. We propose the blended deinking agent with cellulolutic enzymes and synthetic collector in deinking pulp of conventional alkaline method. The deinking efficiency of old news print in alkaline pH was enhanced with enzyme treatments. The brightness of deinked pulp was increased with less residual ink particles and yield of enzymatic deinked pulp was improved compared to the deinked pulp of conventional alkaline method.

  • This study was performed to introduce recently developed Polyvinylamine as a wet-end process improving aids and paper properties improving aids. As a retention and drainage aids, cationicity of Polyvinylamine was a very important factor of BCTMP and ONP stock condition. As a dry tensile strength aids, The hydrogen bond of acrylamide functionality and hydroxyl functionality of the pulp was a very important factor of LBKP stock condition and cationicity of Polyvinylamine was a very important factor of BCTMP and ONP stock condition.

  • The effect of sequential oxidative-reductive bleaching on brightening of the MOWs is investigated. The improvement in brightnesses of MOWs is more effective in conventional PFAS bleaching than in P/T bleaching. There is no difference in the mechanical properties or the bleached pulps between PFAS and P/T sequences. Considering the brightness gains and bleaching chemicals cost, for the MOW A(Initial brightness: 68.3% ISO) containing 5% ONP and 20% colored paper, the P/T bleaching is more economical than the PFAS bleaching. However for MOW B(initial brightness: 59.1% ISO) containing 15% ONP and 35% colored paper, there is no difference in the bleaching efficiency between PFAS and P/T bleaching.

  • Waste paper plastic composites were prepared with old newspaper and old corrugated containers and mixed office waste and those properties were evaluated. The results were summarized as fellows. 1. The strength properties like as tensile and Young's modulus reveled most high level in MOW composite. 2. The coagulation of fibers in paper particle should interrupt equal dispersion of polymer and paper particle. 3. The micrograph of the surface of composites showed the most high dispersion in ONP composite.

  • The oak and pine charcoal were used to develop the inner packaging material for maintaining the freshness of vegetables and fruits, and to investigate the possibility in the application for inner packaging. The effects of the charcoal type, species, particle size, and grammage on the adsorption efficiency of ethylene gas were studied. White charcoal has superior ethylene gas adsorption performance to those of black charcoal. Pine charcoal was superior to oak charcoal in the ethylene gas adsorption. Higher gas adsorption was obtained by the higher grammage sheet. The difference in the adsorption efficiency was not significant between ONP and KOCC.

  • The information security is needed to guarantee the safety and the confidence to users in open system. This paper analyzes transport layer security protocol and security association protocol, which are standards proposed by ISO/IEC, to provide a security service in the transport layer and particulars, not in the standard, are defined for development. And this paper suggests a development model and develps security system based upon the suggested model. The ONP of USL is used as the development environment.
