Combining Object Detection and Hand Gesture Recognition for Automatic Lighting System Control

  • Recently, smart lighting systems are the combination between sensors and lights. These systems turn on/off and adjust the brightness of lights based on the motion of object and the brightness of environment. These systems are often applied in places such as buildings, rooms, garages and parking lot. However, these lighting systems are controlled by lighting sensors, motion sensors based on illumination environment and motion detection. In this paper, we propose an automatic lighting control system using one single camera for buildings, rooms and garages. The proposed system is one integration the results of digital image processing as motion detection, hand gesture detection to control and dim the lighting system. The experimental results showed that the proposed system work very well and could consider to apply for automatic lighting spaces.

  • 본 논문에서는 AMESim을 이용하여 터보펌프 모사 장치 중 압력조절계에 대한 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 시스템의 최적화를 통하여 압력조절계의 과도 및 정상상태의 특성과 응답성을 확인하였다. 연구결과들은 향후 제어밸브의 성능 검증 및 제어로직 검증을 위한 추력제어시스템 성능 시험장치 및 엔진공급계 인증시험설비의 설계와 운용 시 적극 반영할 계획이다.

  • Recently, inverter control systems have attracted immense attention to increase the energy efficiency. However, such systems use repeated on/off high currents for linear operation control, instead of the prevalent step variable current control method. Hence, there arise concerns of personal and property damage, especially due to the durability, explosive characteristics, and operating speed of the fuse, which is responsible for safety and is one of the internal components using current control. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an IEC60127-4 SMD sub-miniature fuse, consisting of Ag-Cu alloys and ceramic powder for arc soothing. The IEC60127-4 SMD sub-miniature fuse has high durability and cut-off capacity, and operates safely in dangerous circumstances caused by the inverter control system.

오프라인 프로그래밍을 이용한 스카라 로봇의 통합제어시스템 설계 (Intergrated Control System Design of SCARA Robot Based-On Off-Line Programming)

  • In this paper, we have developed a Widows 98 version Off-Line Programming System which can simulate a Robot model in 3D Graphics space. The SCARA robot with four joints (FARA SM5)was adopted as an objective model. Forward kinematics, inverse kinematics and robot dynamics modeling were included in the developed program. The interface between users and the OLP system in the Widows 98's GUI environment was also studied. The developing language is Microsoft Visual C++. Graphic 1ibraries, OpenGL, by silicon Graphics, Inc. were utilized for 3D Graphics.

IoT와 기계학습을 이용한 스마트 환풍기 제어 시스템 구현 (Implementation of Smart Ventilation Control System using IoT and Machine Learning)

  • 본 논문에서는 스마트폰 앱을 통하여 환풍기의 현재 상태 모니터링, on/off 기능 등 IoT를 지원하는 제어 시스템을 구현하였다. 기계학습(Machine Learning) 알고리즘 종류 중 하나인 지도학습에 포함되는 선형회귀(Linear Regression)를 적용하여 자율적으로 가정의 실내 온도, 습도의 데이터를 수집하여 상태를 진단하고 운전하면서 에너지를 최대한 효율적으로 사용하면서 사용자의 요구를 충족하도록 하였다. 구현한 시스템에서는 수동제어보다 같은 습도가 되는 데 필요한 환풍기의 작동 시간이 더 적다는 것으로 더 좋은 에너지 효율을 확인할 수 있었다. 이로 인해 사용자들은 기존의 환풍기보다 더욱 편리하고 효율적으로 사용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • The development of a fast, accurate, and inexpensive position-controlled pneumatic actuator that may be applied to a variety of practical positioning applications with various external loads is described in this paper. A novel modified pulso width modulation (MPWM) valve pulsing algorithm allows on/off solenoid valves to be used in place of costly servo valves. A comparison between the system response of standard PWM technique and that of the novel modified PWM technique shows that the control performance is significantly increased. A state feedback controller with position, velocity and acceleration feedback is successfully implemented as the continuous controller. Switching algorithm of control parameter using learning vector quantization neural network (LVQNN) is newly proposed. which estimates the external loads of the pneumatic actuator. The effectiveness of the proposed control algorithms are demonstrated through experiments with various loads.

Load Position and Residual Vibration Control of an Offshore Crane System Based on Input-Output Linearization Theory

  • In the offshore crane system, the requirements on the operating safety are extremely high due to many external factors. Rope extension is one of the factors producing vertical vibration of load. In this study, the load is carried by the motor-winch actuator control and the rope is modeled as a mass-damper-spring system. To control the load position and suppress the vertical vibration of the load, a control system based on input-output linearization method is proposed. By the simulation and experiment results with pilot crane model, the effectiveness of proposed control method is evaluated and verified.

  • Many types of smart materials and control laws are available to actively adjust the structure from various external disturbances. Usually, a certain type of control laws to activate a specific smart material is well established, but the effectiveness of the control scheme is limited by the choice of the smart materials and the responses of the structure. ER fluid is adequate to provide relatively large control force, on the other hand, the PZT patches are suitable to provide small but arbitrary control forces at any point along the structure. It was found that active vibration control mechanism using ER fluid failed to suppress the excitation off the resonant frequency with changed structural characteristics along the frequency response function of the closed loop of the control system. To compensate this additional peak of the closed loop system, PPF control using PZT as an actuator is added to construct a hybrid controller.

  • In this paper, a programming system for robot-based manufacturing cell which can control and simulate manufacturing devices as well as robots in workcell is proposed and developed. The system is based on world model, and modem textual and object-level robot programming language and interactive graphic world modeler are used to construct and exploit world model. Graphic simulation is used as an efficient and easy to use debugging or verifying tool for user written robot programs. Machine dependency is minimized by adopting the hierarchical control structure and by assuming all the workcell components as virtual ones.

  • This paper introduces the controller development of booster multi-pump system with constantly estimated control algorithm. Through analyzing by the experiment of optimal pressure with a certain flow rate. The larger pressure processing apparatus in microprocessor makes optimal water-supplying. This method is implemented with the only pure control algorithm without any other mechanical or circuitry apparatus. Also, Pump's life is lengthened by exchanging simple on, off and rotational inverter control. Optimal condition for pump is adjusted by the inverter control, and compact control panel helps the booster system install in real field.
