Study on Inhibition of Platelet Aggregation of Bioactive Constituents from Paeonia lactiflora (작약의 혈소판 응집억제작용에 관한 연구)

  • Methanol extracts from Paeonia lactiflora showed a strong inhibition against platelet aggregation on platelet activation test. Therefore, the bioactive constituents from Paeonia lactiflora were prepared using chromatography methods and were analyzed by NMR and reference data. Compound 1b was confirmed a same structure with henzoyloxypaeoniflorin, compound 2e was a same structure with paeoniflorin; main product of Paeonia lactiflora. Analytical data of compound 3a were not consistent with any known paeoniflorin soucture, but showed the souctural similarity with it. And also the aggregation inhibition activity of compound 3a showed a strong inhibition($\geq$ 90%) induced by collagen. Therefore it suggested that the structure of compound 3a may be the similar structure of benzoyloxypaeoflorin with a functional group in place of benzoyl group and/or a different functional group in stead of Rl. We suggested that benzoyl group of benzoyloxypaeoniflorin substitued instead of 5-carbon OH group on glycoside moiety paeoniflorin played role of the metabolite in case of a platelet aggregation inhibition activity. Paeoniflorin showed more strong inhibition by thrombin than collagen. Therefore, it may be destructed a calcium metabolite as a forming $Ca^2+$ chelate. Compound 3a may be that other functional group instead of OH group of 5-carbon on glycoside moiety of paeoniflorin and/or OH group of benzoyl moiety of paeoniflorin played role of the metabolite in a platelet aggregation inhibition.

  • The CNDO/2 method has been used to calculate the electronic structure of the zeolites and silicas, and to investigate the interaction of CO molecules with the OH groups or the exchanged cation in the zeolites. The interaction energies of CO molecules with OH groups in silica were ca. 12kcal/mol, the bond distance, R(O-H${\cdots}$C) was 2.6${\AA}$. The strength of bond between CO molecules and various types of cations in the zeolites was in the following order: $H^+ < Na^+ < Li^+$, i.e., this increased with increasing electrostatic field of cations. The bond orders of CO molecules interacting with the OH groups or the cations increased but for the OH-OC type interaction. The theoretical decationization energies of exchanged cations in the zeolites decreased in the order: $H^+ > Li^+ > Na^+$. And these energies depended on the amount of charge density transfered from the skeleton to the cations in order to compensate its negative charge.

  • This study was investigated to search for the effects of the structure of each component in four-component O/W microemulsion system on its formation region, droplet size and stablilty. The results was that the more number of OH site, the shorter carbon chain length of polyol, the larger formation region of microemulsion was showed. The small microemulsion droplet was obtained on condition that the polatry of oil was large and carbon chain length of hydrophobic group of surfactant was long. In using satrated hydrocarbon (such as liquid paraffin, squalane) as dispersed phase, the stability of microemulsion was better than aromatic oil phase.

  • A series of laboratory experiment was conducted to find out the chemical composition, characterization of humic substances by physical and chemical methods and reaction of Na-pyrophosphate, $Ca(OH)_2$ and rice straw with albumin on the degradation of soil organic matter in the volcanic ask soils of the Jeju Island. Results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. The contents of organic matter, available silicon, active iron and aluminum concentration in volcanic ash the soils were remarkably higher but available phosphorous was comparatively lower than the mineral soils. In volcanic ash soil, the contents of potassium, calcium and magnessium were higher in upland soil than that of forest soil. The ratios of active $Al^{{+}{+}{+}}/Fe^{{+}{+}}$, C/P and $K/Ca^+$ Mg were apparently high in volcanic ash soils while that of $SiO_2$/O.M. was high in mineral soil. 2. The carbon/nitrogen ratio in humin, humic acid content in organic matter, and carbon contents of humin in total carbon of soil organic matter were apparently higher in the volcanic ash soils than in the mineral soils, The total nitrogen and fractions of acid or alkali soluble nitrogen were remarkably high in volcanic ash soils while mineralizable nitrogen ($NH_4$-N and $NO_3$) contents were high in mineral soils. 3. The values of K600, RF and log K were also higher in volcanic ash soils than those in mineral soils, and the absorbance in the visible range were high and color was dark in the soil of which humification was progressed Extracted humic acid from volcanic ash soil was less reactive to the oxidizing chemical reagent and was persistance to the acid or alkali hydrolysises. 4. The major oxygen-containing functional groups in humic substances of volcanic ash soils were phenolic-OH alcoholic-OH and carboxyl groups while those in mineral soil were methoxyl and carbonyl groups. 5. Absorption spectra of alkaline solution of humic acid ranged from 200 nm to maxima 500 nm. Visible spectra peaks of from humic substances in the visible region were recognized at 350, 420, 450 and 480 nm. Only one single absorbance peak was observed in the visible region at 362 nm for Heugag series and two absorbance Peak were also at 360 nm and 390 nm for Yeungrag series. 6. Evolution of carbon as $Co_2$ was increased with addition of Na-pyrophosphate in Namweon and Heugag series, and "priming effects" took place on the soil organic matter decomposition by addition of rice straw with albumin in Ido series.

Effect of microwave power on aging dynamics of solution-processed InGaZnO thin-film transistors

  • 기존의 디스플레이 기슬은 마스크를 통해 특정 부분에만 유기재료를 증착시키는 방법을 사용하였으나, 기판의 크기가 커짐에 따라 공정조건에 제약이 발생하였다. 이를 해결하기 위해 최근 용액 공정에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 용액 공정은 기존 진공 증착 방식과 비교하였을 때 상온, 대기압에서 증착이 가능하며 경제적이고, 대면적 균일 증착에 유리하다는 장점이 있다. 반면, 용액 공정으로 제작한 소자는 시간이 지남에 따라 점차 전기적 특성이 변하는 aging effect를 보인다. Aging effect는 용액에 포함된 C기와 OH기 기반의 불순물의 영향으로 시간의 경과에 따라서 문턱전압, subthreshold swing 및 mobility 등의 전기적 특성이 변하는 현상으로 고품질의 박막을 형성하기 위해서는 고온의 열처리가 필요하다. 지금까지 고품질 박막 형성을 위한 열처리는 퍼니스 (furnace) 장비에서 주로 이루어졌는데, 시간이 오래 걸리고, 상대적으로 고온 공정이기 때문에 유리, 종이, 플라스틱과 같은 다양한 기판에 적용하기 어렵다는 단점이 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 $100^{\circ}C$ 이하의 저온에서도 열처리가 가능한 microwave irradiation (MWI) 방법을 이용하여 solution-processed InGaZnO TFT를 제작하였고, 기존의 열처리 방식인 furnace로 열처리한 TFT 소자와 aging effect를 비교하였다. 먼저, solution-processed IGZO TFT를 제작하기 위해 p type Si 기판을 열산화시켜서 100 nm의 SiO2 게이트 산화막을 성장시켰고, 스핀코팅 방법으로 a-IGZO 채널층을 형성하였다. 증착후 열처리를 위하여 1000 W의 마이크로웨이브 출력으로 15분간 MWI를 실시하여 a-IGZO TFT를 제작하였고, 비교를 위하여 furnace N2 gas 분위기에서 $600^{\circ}C$로 30분간 열처리한 TFT를 준비하였다. 제작된 직후의 TFT 특성을 평가한 결과, MWI 열처리한 소자가 퍼니스 열처리한 소자보다 높은 이동도, 낮은 subthreshold swing (SS)과 히스테리시스 전압을 가지는 것을 확인하였다. 한편, aging effect를 평가하기 위하여 제작 후에 30일 동안의 특성변화를 측정한 결과, MWI 열처리 소자는 30일 동안 문턱치 전압(VTH)의 변화량 ${\Delta}VTH=3.18[V]$ 변화되었지만, furnace 열처리 소자는 ${\Delta}VTH=8.56[V]$로 큰 변화가 있었다. 다음으로 SS의 변화량은 MWI 열처리 소자가 ${\Delta}SS=106.85[mV/dec]$인 반면에 퍼니스 열처리 소자는 ${\Delta}SS=299.2[mV/dec]$이었다. 그리고 전하 트래핑에 의해서 발생하는 게이트 히스테리시스 전압의 변화량은 MWI 열처리 소자에서 ${\Delta}V=0.5[V]$이었지만, 퍼니스 열처리 소자에서 ${\Delta}V=5.8[V]$의 큰 수치를 보였다. 결과적으로 MWI 열처리 방식이 퍼니스 열처리 방식보다 소자의 성능이 우수할 뿐만 아니라 aging effect가 개선된 것을 확인할 수 있었고 차세대 디스플레이 공정에 있어서 전기적, 화학적 특성을 개선하는데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

The Rietveld Structure Refinement of Natural Phlogopite Using Neutron Powder Diffraction (중성자분말회절법을 이용한 금운모 결정에 대한 리트벨트 구조분석)

  • The Rietveld structure refinement for the natural trioctahedral mica, phlogopite-1M (Parker Mine, Quebec, Canada) has been done by high resolution neutron powder diffraction at $25^{\circ}C$ and -263$^{\circ}C$. The structural formula of phlogopite determined by electron probe microanalysis is $K_2$(M $g_{4.46}$F $e_{0.83}$A $l_{0.34}$ $Ti_{0.22}$)(S $i_{5.51}$A $l_{2.49}$) $O_{20}$(O $H_{3.59}$ $F_{0.41}$). Cell parameters are a=5.30∼5.31 $\AA$, b=9.18∼9.20 $\AA$, c=10.18∼10.21 $\AA$, $\beta$=100.06∼100.08$^{\circ}$. Refinements converged to R values in the range of $R_{p}$=2.35%, $R_{wp}$=3.01%, respectively. In this study, the OH bond length is calculated to 0.93 $\AA$ at room temperature and 1.03 $\AA$ at -263$^{\circ}C$, and the angles between OH vector and (001) plane are obtained 93.4$^{\circ}$∼93.6$^{\circ}$. The decrease in the length of OH with the increase in temperature should be due to the hydrogen bonding in the structure of phogopite.e.e.f phogopite.e.e.

Hydrogen Bond Effect on Chain Behavior at the Semidilute Regime of Poly(vinyl alcohol) Aqueous Solution (폴리(비닐 알코올) 수용액의 준희박농도 영역에서 사슬 거동에 대한 수소결합의 효과)

  • In order to investigate the structure and dynamics of atatic poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/water system, laser light scattering experiment has been done in the semi-dilute concentration regime at $25^{\circ}C$. The scattering intensity I(q) can be analyzed with the fractal equation of $I(q){\sim}q^{-m}$ instead of Onstein-Zernike type equation. The fractal dimensionality m was found to be constant after reaching the plateau value of $m=2.6{\pm}0.3$ above C=3wt%. The time correlation function of dynamic light scattering has always two different modes such as fast mode and slow one. The cooperative diffusion of fast mode showed concentration independence contrary 4o the reptation theory's concentration dependent exponent of 3/4. The slow mode can be interpreted as the motion of large scale heterogeneities and its strong concentration dependence is apparent with a large negative exponent of -3.0. It is considered that the stereo-regular arrangement with four successive meso units of -OH plays as a key role in forming such heterogeneity.

Mineralogy and Geochemistry of Iron Hydroxides in the Stream of Abandoned Gold Mine in Kwangyang, Korea (광양 폐금광 수계에 형성된 철수산화물에 대한 광물학적 및 지구화학적 특성)

  • Geochemical investigations on suspended amorphous iron oxide material from the Kwangyang gold mine and its surrounding area, Cheonnam, Korea have been carried out. The sediments samples were collected from 11 location along Kwangyang mine area and were air dried and sieved to -80 mesh. These samples consist mainly of iron, silicon and alumina. The Fe$_2$O$_3$ contents ranges from 17.9 wt.% to 72.3 wt.%. The content of Fe$_2$O$_3$ increase with decreasing Si, Al, Mg, Na, K, Mn, and Ti, whereas the contents of Te, Au, Ga, Bi, Cd, Hg, Sb, and Se increase in the amorphous stream sediments. Amorphous stream sediments have been severely enriched for As (up to 54.9 ppm), Bi (up to 3.77 ppm), Cd (up to 3.65 ppm), Hg (up to 64 ppm), Sb (up to 10.1 ppm), Cu (up to 37.1 ppm), Mo (up to 8.86 ppm), Pb (up to 9.45 ppm) and Zn (up to 29.7 ppm). At the upstream site, the Au content (up to 4.4 ppm) in the amorphous stream sediments are relatively high but those contents decrease with distance of mine location. The content of Ag (up to 0.24 ppm) were low in upstream site but those contents increase significantly in the downstream sites. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the samples have virtually no sharp and discrete peaks, indicating that some samples are amorphous or poorly-ordered. The quartz, goethite, kaolinite and illite were associated in amorphous stream sediments. The infrared spectra for amorphous stream sediments show major absorption bands due to OH stretching, adsorbed molecular water, sulfate and Fe-O stretching, respectively.

On the Milled Wood Lignins Isolated from Hardwood by Progressive Milling (단계적(段階的) 분쇄법(粉碎法)에 의해 조제(調製)된 활엽수(闊葉樹) MWL에 관한 연구(硏究))

  • Ultraviolet microscopy of ultrathin sections of wood has proved to be one of the useful means for determining the lignin distribution in the various regions of the cell wall. Also, spectral approach and quantitative analysis of isolated compound middle lamella fraction from birch xylem have revealed that the lignin associated with the vessel secondary wall and middle lamella is composed predominantly of gualacylpropane units. Lignin deposited in the fiber and ray parenchyma secondary walls is composed mostly of syringylpropane units. The middle lamella lignin around fibers and ray cells contains both guaiacyl and syringyl propane quits. On the basis of the results above, this research was carried out to clarify the origin of milled wood lignin (MWL) by analysing the chemical characteristics of ML MWLs extracted at various milling stages. The amount of phenolic hydroxyl-, ${\alpha}$-carbonyl-, and methoxyl-group in the MWL's increases the milling time. And progressive mining contributes to the merease of ratio of syringylaldehyde to vanillin(S/V ratio) after nitrobenzene oxidation of MWL. Accordingly, It could be concluded that milled wood lignin extracted at the initial milling stage derives from compound middle lamella region of cell wall, whereas, with progressive milling, lignin of secondary wall of fiber is introduced gradually to milled wood lignin. These results are suggesting that heterogeneous chemical structure of lignins in hardwood exists. Although milled wood lignin at the initial stage seems to have lower molecular weight in comparison with milled wood lignin extracted at final milling stage from the result of Gel-filtration curves, further study would be required on molecular weight distribution of milled wood lignin in future.
