SOI CMOS Miniaturized Tunable Bandpass Filter with Two Transmission zeros for High Power Application (고 출력 응용을 위한 2개의 전송영점을 가지는 최소화된 SOI CMOS 가변 대역 통과 여파기)

  • This paper presents a capacitor loaded tunable bandpass chip filter using multiple split ring resonators (MSRRs) with two transmission zeros. To obtain high selectivity and minimize the chip size, asymmetric feed lines are adopted to make a pair of transmission zeros located on each side of passband. Compared with conventional filters using cross-coupling or source-load coupling techniques, the proposed filter uses only two resonators to achieve high selectivity through a pair of transmission zeros. In order to optimize selectivity and sensitivity (insertion loss) of the filter, the effect of the position of asymmetric feed line on transmission zeros and insertion loss is analyzed. The SOI-CMOS switched capacitor composed of metal-insulator-metal (MIM) capacitor and stacked-FETs is loaded at outer rings of MSRRs to tune passband frequency and handle high power signal up to +30 dBm. By turning on or off the gate of the transistors, the passband frequency can be shifted from 4GH to 5GHz. The proposed on-chip filter is implemented in 0.18-${\mu}m$ SOI CMOS technology that makes it possible to integrate high-Q passive devices and stacked-FETs. The designed filter shows miniaturized size of only $4mm{\times}2mm$ (i.e., $0.177{\lambda}g{\times}0.088{\lambda}g$), where ${\lambda}g$ denotes the guided wave length of the $50{\Omega}$ microstrip line at center frequency. The measured insertion loss (S21)is about 5.1dB and 6.9dB at 5.4GHz and 4.5GHz, respectively. The designed filter shows out-of-band rejection greater than 20dB at 500MHz offset from center frequency.

A Study to Promote the Export of Korean Hang Over Drinks in Russia (숙취해소음료의 러시아권 시장 수출활성화 방안)

  • To diversify the agro-food exports of Korea, this study selected Russia, which is located closet to CIS countries, as a sampling area and sought ways to promote the export of Korean hang over drinks to Russia. This study analyzed the contributing factors to the export, such as Russian consumers' purchasing intentions, as well as the willingness to pay of korean hang over drinks in Russia, using the paper review and on-off line survey data correction method. Major results are as follows. First, Russian consumers' intention of purchasing Korean hang over drinks is higher than Europe and the other products. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the demographic characteristics of Russian consumers and then actively use niche marketing strategies. Second, the purchase intention of Russian consumers towards increased when buying behavior occurred in supermarket, hypermarket- and convenience stores. Third, it seems prefer to pricing of Korean hang over drinks in Russian export market similar to the domestic price level.

Low-power VLSI Architecture Design for Image Scaler and Coefficients Optimization (영상 스케일러의 저전력 VLSI 구조 설계 및 계수 최적화)

  • Existing image scalers generally adopt simple interpolation methods such as bilinear method to take cost-benefit, or highly complex architectures to achieve high quality resulting images. However, demands for a low power, low cost, and high performance image scaler become more important because of emerging high quality mobile contents. In this paper we propose the novel low power hardware architecture for a high quality raster scan image scaler. The proposed scaler architecture enhances the existing cubic interpolation look-up table architecture by reducing and optimizing memory access and hardware components. The input data buffer of existing image scaler is replaced with line memories to reduce the number of memory access that is critical to power consumption. The cubic interpolation formula used in existing look-up table architecture is also rearranged to reduce the number of the multipliers and look-up table size. Finally we analyze the optimized parameter sets of look-up table, which is a trade-off between quality of result image and hardware size.

  • This paper proposes a algorithm to extract the variety region (object) from video for the real-time encoding of MPEG-4 based. The previous object segmentation methods cannot used the videophone or videoconference required by real-time processing. It is difficult to transfer a video to real-time because it increased complexity for the operation of each pixel on the spatial segmentation and temporal segmentation method proposed by MPEG-4 Working Group. But algorithm proposed for this thesis not operates a pixel unit but operates a macro block unit. Thus this enables real-time transfer. But this algorithm cannot extract several object for a image using proposed algorithm as previous algorithm. On system constructed by encoder and decoder. A proposed algorithm inserted for encoder as pre-process.

  • In 2011, C.-T. Li et al. proposed a secure user authentication scheme, which is an improvement over Kim et al.'s scheme to resolve several security flaws such as off-line password guessing attack and masquerading attack. C.-T. Li et al. claimed that their scheme prevents smart card security related attacks. Moreover, it provides mutual authentication and session key establishment. However, we found that their scheme is vulnerable to password guessing attack through password change phase, smart card forgery attack and stolen verifier attack. Moreover, C.-T. Li et al.'s scheme is not secure against password guessing attack as they claimed. In this paper, we also point out that their scheme is not practical to use.

  • Since a number of welding points are distributed in an automobile part, the number of welding points alloted to each robot are large. So, there is an increasing need of an optimal sequence planning to minimize the total welding time. In this paper, an off-line programming scheme for effective teaching of a spot welding robot is presented. A collision free, optimal welding sequence planning is done through applying the modified Traveling Salesman Problem algorithm. Also, a data extraction method from an existing general CAD system is presented for reuse of the existing exact model data produced by a model designer and easy constructing the world model data base. The result show that the proposed system could enhance the efficiency of spot welding robot in automobile industry.

A Self-Organizing Model Based Rate Control Algorithm for MPEG-4 Video Coding

  • A new self-organizing neuro-fuzzy network based rate control algorithm for MPEG-4 video encoder is proposed in this paper. Contrary to the traditional methods that construct the rate-distorion (RD) model based on experimental equations, the proposed method effectively exploits the non-stationary property of the video date with neuro-fuzzy network that self-organizes the RD model online and adaptively updates the structure. The method needs not require off-line pre-training; hence it is geared toward real-time coding. The comparative results through the experiments suggest that our proposed rate control scheme encodes the video sequences with less frame skip, providing good temporal quality and higher PSNR, compared to VM18.0.

  • This paper proposes and analyzes an error control scheme for the transmission control based real-time communication, such as FDDI, TDMA, and wireless LAN, which delivers the message according to the round robin fashion after the off-line bandwidth allocation. Taking into account the time constraint of each message, the proposed error control scheme makes the receiver transmit the error report via asynchronous traffic while the sender resend the requested message via overallocated access time which is inevitably introduced by the bandwidth allocation procedure for hard real -time guarantee. The error control procedure does not interfere other real -time message transmissions. In addition, as each frame contains the size of the message it belongs, the receiver can recognize the end of completion of message transmission. This enables earlier error report to the receiver so that the sender can cope with more network errors. The analysis results along with simulation performed via SMPL show that the proposed scheme is able to enhance the deadline meet ratio of messages by overcoming the network errors. Using the proposed error control scheme, the hard real -time network can be built at cost lower than, but performance comparable to the expensive dual link network.

  • 프로그래밍 언어의 의미를 정형적으로 표기하는 기법인 액션의미론을 기반으로 한 컴파일러 생성기는 프로그래밍언어의 액션의미구조가 주어지면 그 언어의 컴파일러를 자동으로 생성한다. 생성된 컴파일러는 먼저 원시 프로그램을 그에 상응하는 액션 프로그램으로 확장한 후, 목적 프로그램으로 컴파일 한다. 여기서 액션 프로그램은 일종의 중간코드로 쓰이므로, 효율적인 목적코드를 생성하기 위해서 중간코드의 성능향상이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 액션 프로그램을 부분계산을 통해 효율적인 코드로 자동 변환해 주는 온라인 액션 부분계산기를 설계하고 구현한다. 선행 연구된 오프라인 방식에서 전역분석을 하지 않고는 불가능했던 요약캡슐의 몸통, 펼치기의 몸통에 대한 부분계산이 온라인 방법을 사용하면 가능함을 보이고, 명령형 액션의 부분계산도 추가적으로 수행할 수 있도록 확장한다. Abstract Action Semantics is a framework for formally defining the semantics of programming languages. Action semantics-directed compiler generators take an action semantics definition of a programming language and automatically generate a compiler of the language. The generated compiler first expands a source program into an action denotation of the program, and then compiles it to a target code. In these compiler-generation systems, it is important to statically process the expanded action denotation - used as an intermediate code - as much as possible so that the generated compiler can produce better target code. In this paper, we develop an automatic action-transformation method based on online partial evaluation. The previous off-line method was rather weak because it could not partially evaluate actions inside the body of abstraction and unfolding-action without performing separate global analysis. The proposed online method remedies the problem, thus naturally improves the quality of residual actions. Moreover, we also extend the method to partially evaluate imperative actions.

The Present Condition on Education of Citation & Reference Writing in Academic Library (대학도서관의 인용 및 참고문헌작성 교육 현황)

  • The citation & reference writing is a necessary curricular course for undergraduate students to improve paper writing and information literacy. And academic libraries have been involved in relation to the course. In this context, this study examined and analyzed present conditions and contents of the citation & reference writing presently taught by academic libraries. The investigation shows that 9 out of 51 universities in Seoul & Gyeonggi-Do taught the course of citation & reference writing. The course was all taught under the title of 'paper writing' except one academic library, and the librarian taught this course on off-line. Some academic libraries taught only part of citation & reference works while many never taught them at all. Especially, the definition and types of plagiarism and reference works on Website were not appropriately covered. Academic libraries teaching the citation & reference writing should grow, and contents of the course should be systematically taught.
