  • All chemical processes are centered in the chemical reactor. Chemical reactions are often accompanied by mixing. Mixing can influence not just reaction rate but also product distribution if more than one product is possible. So, reactor agitator is more critical in industrial reactions. High vibration was occurred on reactor agitator which is critical equipment in HDPE plant. This paper describes analysis and diagnosis for agitator vibration throughout some tests. High vibration has been occurred by misalignment and resonance. Through the correction it could be stable.

HPLC에 의한 식육조직중의 잔류 설파제 동시 분석 (Simultaneous Determination of Residual Sulfonamides in Meat Tissues by High Performance Liquid Chromatography)

  • Four sulfoanmides ; sulfamerazine ; sulfamethazine, sulfathiazole and sulfadimethoxine from muscle, kindney, liver and heart tissues of pork and chicken by LC. Residual sulfonamides were extracted with dichloromethane and determined on a Sperisorb ODS-1 column(250mm$\times$4.6mm id) with acetonitrile/water/acetic acid (30/70/0.3 v/v) as a mobile phase at 260nm. Recoveries from 4 tissues of pork and chicken samples fortified with 50 and 100 ppb were 71.2~87.2% and 73.7~89.6%, respectively. The detection limit was 0.03 $\mu\textrm{g}$/g in each drug. Sulfamethazine in 5 samples of pork. And sulfadimethoxine in 5 samples and sulfamethazine in 3 samples were also detected from 41 samples of chicken. The order of residue levels of sulfonamides in tissues was kidney>liver>heart>muscle, respectively. The residue levels of sulfonamides from kidney and liver were 0.03~0.15 $\mu\textrm{g}$/g in porks and 0.03~0.10 $\mu\textrm{g}$/g in chickens.

  • 모바일 RFID 는 휴대폰에 UHF RFID 리더를 내장함으로써 현재 개념 단계인 유비쿼터스 기술을 실생활에 밀접한 현재 기술로 만들 수 있는 전세계적으로 최초로 시도되고 있는 주요 기술이다. 모바일 RFID 테스트베드는 태그테스트베드와 모바일 RFID 리더 테스트베드, 모바일 RFID 미들웨어 테스트베드, RFID 코드 해석(리졸루션)을 위한 ODS 서버 테스트베드 등으로 구성된다. 모바일 RFID 테스트베드에서는 위의 시스템들이 CDMA 무선인터넷망과 유선인터넷망을 통하여 연결되고 정의된 프로토콜에 따라 통신이 이루어지도록 하여 시스템 요소 기술의 검증 및 상호 연계 테스트를 지원함으로써, 모바일 RFID 기술 및 서비스의 상용화 개발을 지원한다.

The Synergistic Antibacterial Activity of 1-Acetyl-$\beta$-Carboline and $\beta$-Lactams Against Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)

  • 1-Acetyl-$\beta$-carboline was isolated as an anti-MRSA agent from the fermentation broth of a marine actinomycete isolated from marine sediment. The producing strain was identified to be Streptomyces sp. by phylogenetic analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequence. The anti-MRSA agent was isolated by bioactivity-guided fractionation of the culture extract by solvent partitioning, ODS open flash chromatography, and purification with a reversed-phase HPLC. Its structure was elucidated by extensive 2D NMR and mass spectral analyses. Combination of 1-acetyl-$\beta$-carboline with ampicillin exhibited synergistic antibacterial activity against MRSA.

중속 디젤엔진 국부 구조물의 진동저감 연구 (A Study on Vibration Reduction of Local Structure of Medium-speed Diesel Engine)

  • The failures of local structure of marine medium-speed diesel engine occurred in durability test. The vibration response of the whole engine was in an acceptance level, but the local structures were broken. ODS test and vibration measurement were carried out in order to investigate the root cause of durability problem. These tests revealed that the root cause of failures was excessive vibration by $4.5^{th}$ resonance between engine body and local structure. The best solution to reduce the vibration response is to change the type of mount. After a rigid mount was replaced by a flexible mount, maximum vibration level dropped to 72%.

  • Abnormal cab vibrations in the Y direction in commercial vehicles during driving(70~90kph) are not common vibrations that happen to vehicles during driving and can be an obstacle to normal driving. This study conducted Operation Deflection Shape(ODS) testing to identify the causes of those abnormal cab vibrations and find solutions for them and also a sine sweep test to find resonance and frequency in the cab suspension system and set directions for improvement. The study also altered the shape of the bush inner part for changes to the rigidity features of the cab bush in the Y direction and revised the design with optimal rigidity in the Y direction, thus improving abnormal cab vibrations in the Y direction during driving.

  • In the present work, we use multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) as the starting material for the fabrication of sintered carbon steel. A comparison is made with conventionally sintered carbon steel, where graphite is used as the starting material. Milling is performed using a horizontal mill sintered in a vacuum furnace. We analyze the grain size, number of pores, X-ray diffraction patterns, and microstructure. Changes in the physical properties are determined by using the Archimedes method and Vickers hardness measurements. The result shows that the use of MWCNTs instead of graphite significantly reduces the size and volume of the pores as well as the grain size after sintering. The addition of $Y_2O_3$.to the Fe-MWCNT samples further inhibits the growth of grains.

  • A simple, rapid and validated reverse d phase liquid chromatographic method has been developed for the determination of Letrozole (LZ) in pharmaceutical dosage. LZ was separated on ODS analytical column with a mixture of acetonitrile, water in the ratio 50:50 (v/v) as mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0 mL /min. The effluent was monitored by UV detection at 265nm. Calibration plot was linear in the range of 160 to $240{\mu}g$/mL with the linear regression (r) = 0.999. The method was validated for recovery, precision, specificity.

  • This paper introduces works performed for reducing high frequency noise of a reciprocating compressor. Noise in a high frequency range strongly affects sound quality as well as increases total noise level of the compressor. In order to reduce the noise, two different works were carried out. the first work was to measure the vibration Power transferred through suspension spring and discharge pipe; and the second one was to obtain operational deflection shape from cross-power spectrum measured on shell. Based on the information, Adequate structural modification of the transfer path and shell resulted in noise reduction in a high frequency range.

  • DC motor를 제어하기 위하여, 두개의 feedback sensor 즉, potenfiometer와 tachometer를 사용하고 있다. 최적 제어치를 얻기위한 제어 방법으로써 선형계로써는 kalman regular type, 비 선형계로써는 on-off relay-type와 상태 제환을 적용하였다. 역시, 추적각의 측정 방법으로서는. 측정치를 이웅한 위치와 속도 미분치를 이용한 위치와 속도, 그리고 관측기를 이용한 위치, 속도와 오제곱 분산치를 추정하여 추적각의 제어치를 비교 분석하였다.
