직접 가열식 가열로 내 최적 분위기온도 분포 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study of Optimal Distribution of Gas Temperature in Directly-Fired Reheating Furnace)

  • Because the reheating furnace consumes a large amount of energy to heat up the slabs, it is very important to find an optimal temperature patterns in the furnace for energy saving as well as uniform target temperature at the exit of the furnace. In this study, the temperature profiles in the slab are determined by solving the transient one-dimensional heat conduction equation in conjunction with boundary conditions with total heat exchange factors. The optimal temperature patterns are obtained to minimize the fuel consumption with satisfying the predetermined constraint conditions. The design optimization is performed by using a genetic algorithm and the optimal results are validated with results obtained from the PIDO tool, called as P.I.A.n.O.

  • In this paper, a RAID system is modeled and simulated by using the DEVS formalism. The RA[D system interacts with a host system by using the high-speed Fibre channel protocol and stores input data in an array of IDE disks. The DEVS formalism specifies discrete event systems in a hierarchical, modular manner. The RAID system model is composed of three units: primary-PCI unit, secondary-PCI unit and CPU unit. The primary-PCI unit interfaces with the host system and caches I/O data. The secondary-PCI unit includes disks. The CPU unit controls overall system. The control algorithm of CPU and PCI transactions are analyzed and modeled. From an analysis of simulation events, we can conclude that the proposed model satisfies given requirements.

광 Intensity 검출 방식을 응용한 광커넥터 저손실화 연구

  • 슬리브내에서 페룰을 통해 광섬유의 정렬이 이루어지는 광커넥터의 대부분의 접속구조에서 각 구성품간의 어긋남 비정렬요인이 중복되어 나타나게 되므로 접속손실이 매우 큰 영향을 받고 있다. 이러한 접속손실의 향상을 위해 선진 외국에서는 각 구성품의 정밀도 향상과 함께 구성품의 저손실화 조립연구도 수행하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 광섬유 출사면에서의 최대 광도부분을 회전조정하여 최소영역에서 두 광섬유가 정렬, 접속되게 하는 저손실화 조립 장치 개발과 관련하여, 임의로 조립된 상태와 본 연구에서 제안한 적응 제어 알고리즘 (Adaptive Control Algorithm)을 이용하여 광Intensity의 최대부분을 회전조정한 상태와의 삽입손실의 통계적 분포를 비교.분석하였다.

  • Evolvable hardware(EHW) is a dynamic field that brings together reconfigurable hardware, artificial intelligence, fault tolerance and autonomous systems. This paper gives an introduction to the field. The features that can be used to identify and classify evolvable hardware are the evolutionary algorithm, the implementation and the genotype representation. Evolvable hardware (EHW) is hardware that can change its own circuit structure by genetic learning to achieve maximum adaptation to the environment. In conventional EHW, the learning is executed by software on a computer.

  • Measurement of attributes is often highly subjective and imprecise, yet most MADM methods lack provisions for handling imprecise data. Frequently, decision makers must establish a ranking within a finite set of alternatives with respect to multiple attributes which have varying degrees of importance. The problem is more complex if the evaluations of alternatives according to each attribute are not expressed in precise numbers, but rather in fuzzy numbers. Analysis must allow for lack of precision and partial truth. The advantages of a fuzzy approach for MADM are that a decision maker can obtain efficient solutions all at once without trial and error, and that this approach provides better support for judging the interactive improvement of solutions in comparison with o decision making method. The algorithm used in this study is based on the concepts of vague set theory. Linguistic variables and vague values are used to facilitate a decision maker's subjective assessment about attribute weightings and the appropriateness of alternative versus selection attributes in order to obtain final scores which are called vague appropriateness indices. A numerical example is presented to show the practical applicability of this approach.

  • The detailed flow characteristics inside a compression chamber due to the orbiting motion of a scroll is studied numerically. The orbiting motion of a scroll is modelled at 7 orbiting angles. At each orbit angle, the central compression chamber is modelled. All computations are carried by using an in-house code. It is based on the SIMPLE algorithm. Computation results show that the flow structure inside the compression chamber is dependent on the orbit angle. The pressure variation inside the compression chamber also shows great dependence on the orbit angle. The pressure variation shows local maxima when the orbiting motion of a scroll directs toward the center of the compression chamber.

  • This paper deals with the grid-interactive small battery energy storage system, which aims at the integration o( power quality improvement and demand side management. The main purpose of the proposed system is to achieve the peak power cutting and to compensate the current harmonics and reactive power at the point of installation on power distribution for residential homes. paper deals with the grid-interactive small battery energy storage system, In this paper, the basic principle and control algorithm is analyzed, theoretically and the design methodology of the system is discussed. To verify the proposed system, a comprehensive evaluation with theoretical analysis, simulation and experimental results for 1 KVA load capacity is presented.

  • This paper proposes a composite fault detection and isolation method by combining the parameter estimation method[1] with the observer-based method[2] to take advantages of both methods. Some properties of the parameter estimation method and the observer-based method are revieved, and the composite algorithm is presented. To exemplify the performance of the method proposed, some simulations applied to remotely piloted vehicle are performed.

  • The most important function in distribution automation system (DAS) is the service restoration. KEPCO's current service restoration provides a very effective restoration service. However, it has been developed without the consideration of unexpected abnormal conditions that may occur while processing the sequence of switching operations. The objective of this paper is to provide practical service restoration schemes under consideration of abnormal conditions. The proposed service restoration schemes have been integrated to a branch office (B/O) in KEPCO. The proposed method strongly supports the conventional service restoration and adds to its value.

  • In this paper, a method which can detect tracking caused by the insulation deterioration of conduct wiring, is proposed. The computer which take experiment data is learned by neural network algorithm, which has recently been used for the load recognition. The proposed method in our study can be applied to the development of several measuring equipments such as hot-line insulation tester, car earth tester for the detection of tracking under hot-line state.
