Nylon tube를 이용한 대동맥 Prostheses (2례) (The Use of Nylon Tube as Aortic Prostheses: 2 Cases)

  • This is a report on two cases of aortic prostheses using Nylon tube. (Edwards-Tapp A-G Tube, Chemically treated braided Nylon arterial grafts). Especially, the complications after infection of synthetic graft are discussed with reviewing literature. First case was the patient who came to our hospital with rupture of the right femoral artery at the femoral fossa due to pyogenic necrotic process. After femoral arterial prostheses, good pulsation of dorsal artery of foot was obtained. However, the tube was obstructed after 8 weeks postoperatively due tll the complication of infection. In spite of the tube was removed because of obstruction and foreign body reaction of synthetic graft, an amputation of the leg was not necessary for formation of good collateral circulation. Second case was a case of aortic aneurysmal rupture in thoraco-abdominal junction which developed by the trauma of rib resection for osteomyelitis of the left 12th. rib An implantation of aortic graft was performed at the lowest tho13cic aorta by the way of thoraco-abdominal bypass without arterial pump. However, infection produced pyothorax in the left pleural cavity, exposing the tube within the pyothorax. The rupture of the anastomosed upper line occurred in 8 weeks postoperatively and the patient expired.

알킬지방산 에스테르계 나일론 섬유용 내구성 유연제의 제조와 물성 (Preparation and Properties of Fatty Alkylate Type Durable Softner for Nylon Fiber)

  • To prepare a O/W type durable softner(OESA), octadecamidoethylaminoethyl dodecate and tetra (2-dodecamidoethyl) urea synthesized as the main components of softner, were blended with polyoxyethylene(20) oleyl ether, sorbitan sesquioleate, and polyoxyethylene(7) stearyl ether in various compositions. Emulsion stability of OESA was good, and mixed HLB value was 9.7, OESA was found was to be good durable softner for nylon through the examination of softness, lubriation, antistatic property, bending resistance, and color fastness.

  • 기존의 ethylene-vinyl acetate 핫멜트 접착제는 시간에 따른 크리프 특성과 내열성 등의 한계로 사용에 제한이 있으므로 물성의 향상을 위해 폴리아미드계 수지를 이용한 새로운 핫멜트 접착제 개발에 관하여 연구하였다. 폴리아미드 단일중합체의 경우 융점과 용융점도가 매우 높기 때문에 대신 나일론6, 나일론66, 나일론12로 이루어진 삼원공중합체 혹은 블렌딩 수지를 사용하므로써 분자쇄의 규칙성 파괴로 인해 용융점도와 용융점을 강하시킬 수 있었다. 이로써 선택된 수지가 핫멜트 접착제의 베이스 수지로 적절함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 베이스 수지에 테르펜 수지, butyl benzyl phthalate, 파라핀왁스 등을 첨가하여 접착제를 구성함에 따라 유변학적 거동도 쉽게 조절될 수 있었다. 용융점도와 접착제 자체의 인장물성 결과에 따르면 사용된 CM831과 843형 폴리아미드 수지를 약 75/25~50/50의 무게비로 블렌딩함이 최적의 접착력을 나타내리라 평가되었다. 또한 steel간의 접착력 평가 결과 steel 표면의 거칠음 정도가 접착력에 직접 영향을 미치는 결과를 얻었다.

MAP 포장재의 종류와 온도가 울릉미역취의 품질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Storage Temperature and Materials on Maintenance of Quality of Solidago virgaurea spp. gigantea in Modified Atmosphere Packaging)

  • 울릉미역취의 저장기간 연장을 위한 MAP기술을 개발하기 위하여, 포장재질과 저장온도가 품질 특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 울릉미역취를 6월경에 수확하여 $30\;{\mu}m$ PP, $30\;{\mu}m$ Antifogging-OPP, $30\;{\mu}m$ LDPE, $18\;{\mu}m$ Macroperforated-HDPE, $60\;{\mu}m$ Nylon/PE, $85\;{\mu}m$ PVC/PE 재질의 필름으로 밀봉포장하고 4, 10, $20^{\circ}C$에서 저장하면서 포장내의 기체 농도와 품질 특성을 분석하였다. 저장온도 $10^{\circ}C$에서 포장 내의 산소 농도를 비교해보면 PP와 A-OPP 포장구는 $9{\sim}10%$, LDPE 포장구는 $12{\sim}16%$, Nylon/PE와 PVC/PE 포장구는 2%를 각각 유지하였다. 포장 내의 이산화탄소 농도는 PP, A-OPP, LDPE 포장구는 5%를, Nylon/PE와 PVC/PE 포장구는 경시적으로 증가함을 보였다. 중량감소는 M-HDPE 포장구에서는 거의 억제되지 않았으나 그외 포장구에서는 강력하게 억제되었고 저장온도가 낮을수록 억제효과는 증가됨을 보였다. 가용성 고형분 함량과 pH는 $4^{\circ}C$$10^{\circ}C$에서는 큰 변화를 보이지 않았고 포장재질의 영향도 받지 않았으나 $20^{\circ}C$에서는 포장재질에 따라 다른 변화양상을 나타내었다. 관능적 품질 특성인 외관, 색 및 전반적 기호도가 저온과 PP 포장구에서 가장 높게 평가되었다. 이로써 울릉미역취에 적합한 MAP 조건은 포장 내를 약 10% 산소와 5% 이산화탄소로 유지할 수 있는 PP 재질과 $4^{\circ}C$ 저장인 것으로 확인되었다.

Influence of Silane Coupling Agents on the Interlaminar and Thermal Properties of Woven Glass Fabric/Nylon 6 Composites

  • In this study, the influence of silane coupling agents, featuring different organo-functional groups on the interlaminar and thermal properties of woven glass fabric-reinforced nylon 6 composites, has been by means of short-beam shear tests, dynamic mechanical analysis, scanning electron microscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis. The results indicate that the fiber-matrix interfacial characteristics obtained using the different analytical methods agree well with each other. The interlaminar shear strengths (ILSS) of glass fabric/nylon 6 composites sized with various silane coupling agents are significantly improved in comparison with that of the composite sized commercially. ILSS of the composites increases in the order: Z-6076 with chloropropyl groups in the silanes > Z-6030 with methacrylate groups> Z-6020 with diamine groups; this trend is similar to that of results found in an earlier study of interfacial shear strength. The dynamic mechanical properties, the fracture surface observations, and the thermal stability also support the interfacial results. The improvement of the interfacial properties may be ascribed to the different chemical reactivities of the reactive amino end groups of nylon 6 and the organo-functional groups located at the ends of the silane chains, which results from the increased chemical reactivity in order chloropropyl > methacrylate > diamine.

계피 추출물 처리와 포장방법에 따른 곶감의 품질 변화 (Effect of Cinnamon Pretreatment and Packaging Materials on the Quality of Dried Persimmon)

  • 곶감은 상온 유통 시 백분과 곰팡이가 발생하고, 갈변과 조직의 경화가 일어난다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하여 상품성을 유지하고자 계피추출물처리와 포장재에 따른 곶감의 품질변화를 알아보았다. 그 결과 계피추출물에 곶감을 침지한 후 대조구(무포장), LDPE(low density polyethylene)필름포장구과 적층필름포장구(Nylon/LDPE)로 각각 포장하여 상온($15^{\circ}C$)에서 100일간 저장 시 다른 포장구 보다 적층필름포장구(Nylon/LDPE)가 중량변화는 $20.2\%$, 경도는 $87\%$, 갈변도는 $56\%$ 이상 낮게 나타났다. 표면색도 변화 역시 계피추출물 처리시 0.80으로 가장 낮은 변화를 보여, 저장 중 곶감의 품질이 다른 처리구에 비해 높게 유지됨으로써 상품성이 가장 높음을 알 수 있었다.

STUDIES ON PROTEIN DEGRADABILITIES OF FEEDSTUFFS IN BANGLADESH

  • This experiment was conducted to determine RDP values of locally available feedstuffs that are commonly used in ruminant rations in Bangladesh. Four cattle were fistulated in the rumen for the in situ nylon bag studies. Seventeen different feedstuff sample (9 roughages and 8 concentrates) were evaluated in $4{\times}14cm$ nylon bags and incubated in the rumen for different periods of time (2, 6, 12, 24, 48 and 72 h). The variation in crude protein (CP) contents reflected on the average CP disappearance value throughout the rumen incubation. Soluble fraction (a), insoluble but degradable fraction (b) along with the rate of degradation also varied widely among the various feedstuffs. Under 2% of rumen outflow rate, the percentages of the calculated protein degradabilities of roughages were rice straw, 16.7; maize grass, 70.6; oat grass, 70.8; dhal grass, 71.1; sunhemp, 78.4; napier grass, 62.4; matikalai grass, 72.1; khesarikalai grass, 76.9 and daincha browse, 78.4, respectively. The results in the protein degradabilities (%) in 8% ruminal outflow rate of concentrates were wheat bran, 61.6; rice polish (red), 61.3; rice polish (auto), 30.9; mustard oil cake, 71.8; sesame oil cake, 74.2; coconut oil cake, 57.9; soybean meal, 49.2 and fish meal, 37.9, respectively.

Estimation of Ruminal Degradation and Intestinal Availability of Crude Protein in the Animal-Origin Feedstuffs Using Mobile Nylon Bag Technique

  • Ruminal degradation characteristics and intestinal availability of crude protein (CP) in four animal-origin feeds (fish meal, meat meal, viscera meal, feather meal) were estimated by mobile nylon bag technique. Three ruminally and duodenally cannulated Holstein dairy cows (average body wt. 550kg) fed a diet containing 40% concentrate and 60% orchard grass hay on a dry matter (DM) basis. Assuming that the outflow rate of diet in rumen is 5% per hour (k =0.05), contents of quickly degradable CP (QDP), slowly degradable CP (SDP), and undegradable CP (UDP) in the rumen were 27.6%, 9.4%, 63.0% for fish meal, 34.3% 28.1%, 37,6% for meat meal, 43.9%, 12.5%, 43.6% for viscera meal, and 14.4%, 15.8%, 69.8% for feather meal, respectively. Intestinal CP degradability was 51.0% for fish meal, 27.2% for meat meal, 37.9% for viscera meal and 56.2% for feather meal. Available UDP in the intestinal tract was contained 288 g, 217 g, 246 g and 423 g per kilogram DM of diet in fish meal, meat meal, viscera meal and feather meal, respectively.

호도 외피를 이용한 천연염색에 관한 연구(I) (A Study on Natural Dyeing with Walnut Hull Extracts)

  • This study was intended to research the dyeing with natural walnut hull extracts over cotton, flax, rayon, wool, nylon and silk. We studied the dyeing conditions and mordant effect, and observed dyeability. The result are as follows: 1. In the dyeability with natural walnut hull extracts, protein and polyamide fiber has more dye uptake rather than cellulose fiber. 2. The optimum condition in the dyeing with natural walnut hull extracts was at $90^{\circ}C$, 12%(o.w.b) concentration in 90 mins. 3. In the case of the dyeability by repeated dyeing number, the dyeability of good dyeability fiber is improved in the first or second dyeing, but that of bad dyebality fiber is improved when it is dyed more repeatedly. 4. In the dyeablity treated with mordants, Al, Sn, and Mg don't have any differences, but Cu and Fe have some difference. The color of Fe mordant is green and the color of Cu mordant is blue. 5. In the case of the color fastness with mordant treatment, nylon is better than silk and wool in color fastness to washing but silk is better than nylon and wool in color fastness to light.
