치매노인 가족의 치매특별등급서비스 이용 경험 (Experience of a Special Rating Dementia Service for Family Caregivers of Elderly People with Dementia)

  • Purpose: This study tries to explore experiences with a special rating dementia service among family caregivers of elderly people with dementia. Methods: The participants were 11 family caregivers of elderly people with dementia and had used a day-care service from the special rating dementia service for more than 3 months. Data were collected through individual in-depth interviews and analyzed using content analysis. Results: Three categories emerged: "reminiscence of an entangled life", "feeling relieved from a stifled life", and "hope for a better life through help and support" with 8 sub-categories and 23 codes. By using the special rating dementia service, the participants experienced relief from the burden of caring for their elderly family member with dementia and restored their social relations or family relationships. They experienced a positive transition in which their caring for elderly family members with dementia was integrated into their daily lives, and they expressed their desires for better policies. Conclusion: These findings imply the importance and necessity of the special rating dementia service. Practical and systematic family support programs are necessary and proactive publicity activities by the government and public agencies are suggested to ensure that family caregivers can easily use the special rating dementia system.

치위생학, 간호학 전공 학생의 자원봉사활동 경험에 따른 전공만족도와 직업존중감 조사 (A study on satisfaction in major and job esteem based on volunteering experience of college students in the department of dental hygiene and nursing)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate satisfaction in major and job esteem of college students in dental hygiene and nursing department according to volunteering. Methods : This study was used on a descriptive research design. participants of this study were 378 college students in some region from April 30th to May 21th. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS Program(version 20.0) using descriptive statistics. Results : Volunteering experience subjects was 24.3%, the subjects did not experience volunteering was 75.7% and volunteering related to major was 59.8% and it was 40.2% of unrelated volunteering. Volunteering experience by general characteristics was influenced significantly by grade(p= .000), major(p= .000), economic status(p= .007). Volunteering experience by major relevant characteristics of subjects was not influenced significantly. The major satisfaction by volunteering was a little higher on volunteering experience subjects than non-experienced subjects. and was not influenced difference significantly(p= .786). The job esteem by volunteering was higher volunteering experience subjects than non-experienced subjects and was influenced significantly(p=.005). Conclusions : College students majoring in the department of dental hygiene and nursing is somewhat lower the volunteering experience. The major satisfaction and job esteem of college students was influenced by volunteering. therefore, the need to plan ways to increase participation and provide information and opportunities is to invigorate the function of the volunteering service which is also considered as one of the functions of the university.

Computer use experience of nurses working in hospital

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the meaning and structure of nurses' computer using experience. To do this, we conducted a total of three interviews with 11 nurses working between the ages of 26 and 48. Interview data were interpreted using Giori method (1985) and Lincoln & Guba method (1985). As a result, 112 semantic units were derived, and then 18 sub-components were divided into 5 final components. As a result of the analysis, the computer experience that the nurses used in the hospital consisted of 'used for almost every task', 'usefulness', 'important', 'convenience', 'burden', 'anxiety', desire', simple work level', 'no problems', 'eye, muscle and movement discomfort', 'depends on task', 'more complex', 'accuracy', 'organize contents', 'simple', 'incomparable', and 'easy'. Based on the above conclusions, the nurses' experiences of using the computer in the hospital could be concluded as follows. Currently, almost all nursing jobs in hospitals are using computers. However, most of the tasks related to simple computer tasks related to the ability to use the computer was low, and because of this, the computer did not work properly, or when new programs were introduced to feel the burden and anxiety, want more systematic computer education Found. Especially, according to the career, the difference between computer and hand work was different, Nurses over 20 years said that computers can handle simple tasks that are a bit more complicated than manual tasks, whereas emotional tasks were handicapped, in the 10 to 20 years of experience, computer work was more accurate and appropriate to organize content, Nurses under 10 years were not only easy to work with computers but also have no experience in manual work, they could not compare the computer and the hand work. This study suggests that the use of computers in nurses' work is essential and that more systematic computer-based education should be provided. In addition, due to the nature of the nursing service, the professional opinions of the nurses should be reflected in the development of programs for the emotional nursing work.

  • Recently the request of the patients to participate in the medical courses has been expanding due to the elevated sense of right on the people's health, merchandised medical treatment by mass supply, human right declaration of the patients, generalized medical informations by the mass media and the change of human relation between the medical personnels and the patients. Under these phenomena the patients have been in the thought of solving such accidents only by regulation of the laws which they think to be all powerful, Such trends are same in the area of nursing service. Also today the accident by the nurses have been increasing by the area of the nurses having been expanded and their independent roles having been increased. Such nursing accidents are the important subject which the professional occupation of the nurse has been facing but legal protective capability of the nurses has been very weak. Therefore this study has examined the degree of the experience of the nursing accident that happens in the clinical nursing scenes in the general hospital to provide the basic materials for the protection and the counter measures of the nursing accident. The following is the conclusion based by the above examination. 1) The experience degree of the whole nursing accidents has been appeared as 1.90 in average. And the degree according to service area has been 1.77 in the area of supervising management of patients, 1.54 in the area of the same management of patients by head-nurses, 1.84 in the area of doctors' treatment performances, 14 in the enforcement and education areas of the nursing technology, 2.04 in the area of observing patients and judgement and 2.07 in the area of nursing records and maintaining confidentials. Accordingly there has been higher degree of accidental experiences in the independent service areas of the patients than in the dependent ones directed by the doctors. 2) The perception of the nurses showed that the cause of the nursing accident has been due to the heavy work of the nurses with the 60.4% of the response rate, the highest rate. They report the accident to the head nurse first by 2/3 nurses after accident. And the hour of the accident has been frequently happened regardless of service hours with 48.1% in response rate, the highest rate, and the nursing accident happens in the night more than the daytime with the rate of 37.5% at night while 14. 4% daytime. 3) The nurses are in the perception that the patients are responsible for the accident with 48.2% response rate while 43.9% rate in response showed that it has been caused by many people. They are in the perception that 41.7% when the nursing power was lacking, 46.7% lower recognition of actual state about indivitual patient in the section of technical speciality and 35.8% when the patients were not cooperative and 37.8% when the wards were dirty and in disorder. 4) the attitude of the patients after the various nursing accidents has been violent words in 72.7%, violence in 17.4% and 3.9% in attending the court by the sue of the patient's side(18 nurses). 5) The action of the hospital has been : requesting the submission of the story of the accident in 22.8%, the report of the accidents in 14.4%, thus the written statement disposal was most, 4.5% was the transfer to the other departments when the accident was larger or the patients' guardians protested strongly and 0.6% of the dismissals of the nurses. 6) In regard to the responsiblity of the nurse accidents, 78.9% was the highest rate of supplying the nursing manpowers, 48.4% of mutual cooperation of the medical personnels, 37.2% of strengthening the education for the nurses and hospital facilities reformation in 32.7%. 7) The review of relation between the general characters of the object of the study and the degree of experience of nursing accidents showed the significant differences in ages (F=4.04, p=0.000).

간호사의 사회봉사활동에 대한 인식과 태도 (A Study on Recognition and Attitudes toward the Social Service Activity of Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate recognition and attitudes about social service activity(SSA) of nurses. Method: This was a descriptive study. The data was collected from July 15 to 31, 2002 by using a self-report questionnaire consisting of general characteristics(15items), recognition(24items) and attitude(23items) about SSA. The questionnaire was sent to 711 nurses of 38 hospitals in the Gyounggi province area, and 664 questionnaires were returned. The answer rate was 93.4%. The data was analyzed by the SPSS 12.0 Win program. Result: Seventy-one percent of nurses had a SSA experience during university, but only 14.2% nurses participate in SSA now. The mean score of recognition of SSA was 3.58($\pm$0.45), and that of attitude was 3.70($\pm$0.42). The relationship between recognition and attitude had a positive correlation(r=.398, p=.000), the higher the score of recognition, the higher the score of attitude. Conclusion: From these results, to improve nurses' participation in SSA, research to investigate the barrier factors of SSA participation in spite of the high level of recognition and attitude is needed. Programs for nurses to participate in SSA and systemic management should be set up.

간호대학생의 수술실 실습 경험 (Practice Experience of Nursing Student in Operating Room)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생의 수술실 실습경험을 이해하고 설명하기 위해 수행된 질적 연구이다. 본 연구의 참여자는 경상북도 C군 일개 대학에 수술실 임상실습에 참여한 간호 대학생 3, 4학년 67명을 대상으로 하였다. 자료수집기간은 2019년 1월14일부터 2020년 1월 13일까지였으며, 자료 수집은 개방형 자기보고서식 성찰일지를 통해 이루어졌으며, 수집된 자료는 Krippendorff [21]의 내용분석 방법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 간호대학생의 수술실 실습 경험을 분석한 결과, 27개의 하위주제, 12개의 주제, 그리고 5개의 범주로 도출되었다. 5개의 범주는 '복잡한 심경에 휩싸임', '펼쳐진 인체와 직면함', '수술실의 특성을 터득함', ' 임상실습의 한계와 맞닦드림' '자기성찰''이다. 본 연구 결과는 간호대학생의 수술실 실습 경험에 대한 이해를 제공하였으며, 간호대학생의 임상실습의 질을 향상시킬 수 있는 기초 자료로 활용될 것이라고 기대한다.

중소병원 간호부서장의 간호사 채용 경험 (The Recruiting Experience of Chief Executive Nurses in Small and Medium-sized Hospitals)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 중소병원 간호부서장의 간호사 채용 경험을 이해하고 설명하는데 있다. 자료 수집은 서울, 인천, 경기에 소재한 100에서 300 개의 병상 규모 병원에 근무하는 간호부서장 4명을 대상으로 Snowball 샘플링으로 추출하였다. 2017년 11월 1일부터 12월 20일까지 일대일 심층 인터뷰를 하였다. 분석방법은 van Manen의 해석학적 현상학적 방법을 이용해 분석하였으며, 연구 결과 4개의 주제가 도출 되었다. 각 각의 주제는 '속수무책으로 인력부족을 경험함', '절박한 상황 속에서 통제력을 상실함', '간호사의 마음을 얻기 위해 노력함', '간호사의 마음다지기에 최선을 다함'이었다. 본 연구 결과는 중소병원 간호부서장이 간호인력 부족을 극복하기 위해 어떠한 노력을 하는지와, 중소병원 간호사가 업무를 안정적으로 수행할 수 있도록 갖추어야 하는 지원체계에 대한 이해를 제공하는 데 그 의의가 있다.

C. M. I 반응에 의한 간호원의 심신 건강 평가 (Psychiatric Evaluation of Nurses by C. M. I.)

  • It is a well accepted fact that mental and physical health of nurses has a direct bearing or influence in their practice in the nursing profession. Recently, with this view in mind, the study of the mental and physical health of nurses has attracted the attention of many especially those in research hospitals. According to Soon Hyang Cha(1974) a nurse in clinical practice or service has a daily energy consumption of 39% and San Cho Chun (1974) asserts that Nurses'duties are more demanding on her emotionally than on her nursing technical skills. Many more studies has been made to this effect, here and abroad and similarly stressed the importance of mental and physical health for nurses. This study was made in an attempt to analyze the trend or tendency of the mental and physical health of nurses by employing the Cornell Medical Index (CMI) method. The data has been collected from May 1977 to November 1977, 200 nurses from 8 University hospitals and 200 nurses from general hospitals in Seoul, Theses who participated were selected at random. The data were tabulated and comparison made. The results were as follows : 1. Among nurses, the analysis based on the length of experience, it is apparent that, the longer or more experience one ha s, the more complaints they have. 2 The longer the nurses are engaged in nursing practice, the more they have problems in their digestive, musculoskeletal, respiratory and nervous systems and are more prone to diseases, and get tired easier than those of shorter experience. But on the other hand it could be seen that younger nurses or nurses with less experience in the profession are more melancholic and prone to stress than those with longer experience.

Korean Adolescents' Experience of Yoga Class: "Healthy Habits Beyond Exercise"

  • Purpose: This study was designed to explore adolescents' experience with yoga class in South Korea. Methods: Qualitative data were collected by focus group interviews from February to March 2014. Eleven adolescents who experienced yoga class were recruited from two different schools. The interview questions investigated adolescents' experience with yoga regarding expectations before yoga class, positive changes after yoga, and advice for future yoga classes. Results: Three primary themes from the qualitative content analysis include 1) motivation to join a yoga class, 2) perceived benefits after class and 3) suggestions for school-based yoga. We found that high school students had intrinsic and extrinsic motivations to join yoga classes, and the perceived benefits included physical, psychological, cognitive and social aspects. The students also indicated the need for support by person, yoga with fun and information, yoga tailored by individual goal, simple and easy class. Conclusion: These results suggest that yoga could be an appropriate intervention for holistic health care, and school-based yoga should be applied by focusing on the various situational needs of adolescents'. Furthermore, when yoga leads to healthy habits compared to just simple exercise, a balanced development of adolescents can be achieved.

임상실습경험 간호대학생의 전공 만족도, 진로결정자율성 및 진로탐색행동의 관계 (Relationship Between Major Satisfaction, Career Decision Autonomy, and Career Search Behavior of Nursing College Students in Clinical Practice Experience)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify a causal relationship among major satisfaction, career decision autonomy, and career search behavior of nursing college students in clinical practice experience. Methods: Data were collected using a self-reported questionnaires from 197 nursing students in S city from December 1 to 23, 2016. These were then analyzed by descriptive statistics, ANOVA, t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using SPSS/PC+ program. Results: The results suggest that major satisfaction was correlated with career decision autonomy; likewise, major satisfaction was correlated with career search behavior. The factors influencing career search behavior were grades and major satisfaction. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop a learning method considering interest and aptitude to increase the satisfaction of the major and to apply the various programs to understand the self and the work environment so as to determine how desirable the course will be.
