The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between internal marketing, organizational commitment and business performance. Therefore this study is helped to build the strategies that is more efficient internal marketing and organizational commitment for the hospital business. A cross-sectional design was used, with a convenience sample of 284 registered nurses from two university hospitals, two general hospitals and two maternal-child hospital in one region. Collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression through the SPSS WIN program. The predicting factors for communication and organizational commitment had the explanation power of 41.5% in business performance by the individual. The hospital size, compensation and segmentation system comprise about 53.2% of business performance by the organizations. So, nursing leaders should be interest in the strategies for good business performance. It is possible that they implement the policies to suitable internal marketing strategies and the program to improve organizational commitment for nurses.

Purpose: The purposes are to identify the factors that influence work-based stressor experienced by clinical nurses and to provide a perceived causal structural model among these factors. Method: Data was collected and analyzed in 2 steps to apply a perceived causal structure : network analysis which was developed by Kelley(1983). Results: 1. The extracted causes from qualitative data were identified 10 categories ; over loaded work, relative feelings of deprived, inefficient duty schedule, negative attitudes of patient, burden of extra affair, inadequate administrative support, negative attitudes of physician, conflict with other personnels in hospital, lack of professional knowledge and skill, nursing service marketing burden. 2. Construction of the perceived causal structural model ; 1) The most central cause is over loaded work and the distal causes were inadequate administrative support, lack of professional knowledge and skill in the systems of causation. 2) The causes that have a number of outgoing link were over loaded work, inadequate administrative support, negative attitudes of physician. 3) The cause that have a number of incoming link was relative feelings of deprived. Conclusion: The network suggests that the first centre cause was related on over loaded work.
Purpose: This survey aimed to identify cough etiquette knowledge and practice level among university students. Methods: 190 study subject were recruited from a university located in C city of Korea and data were collected utilizing self-reported questionnaires to evaluate cough etiquette knowledge and practice levels. Results: The score of cough etiquette knowledge was 7.38 out of 12 and the correct answer rate was 61.5%. The respondents showed the highest right answer rate (85.3%) on 'cover with a paper tissue or a handkerchief while coughing' and lowest (20.7%) on 'cover with hand while coughing'. Practice level score was 27.28 out of 48. Among those items of practice, 'wearing a mask while coughing' was the lowest (1.40/48) level of practice. And the correlation between knowledge and practice was not significant. Conclusion: Cough etiquette knowledge and practice level was revealed to be rather low among university students. Education and social marketing are needed to be developed to encourage the practice level of cough etiquette followed by better droplet infection control and health promotion.
This study investigated the Infant Institutional Household (IIH) for the care of infants. The purpose was to provide basic information needed to raise Korea's birth rate and to design higher level nursing facilities which can satisfy working mothers who are presently offered few facilities. To achieve this purpose. IIM was divided into 7 sub-functional stations : planning-management, marketing, materials-management, business-management, man power-management, financial-management and control etc. The results are as follows : 1. Kind of facilities : Infants'(full responsibility) Institutional Household. 2. Number of infants : total 19 babies. 3. Ratio of infants to teachers : one to one (Contained assistance teachers) 4. Installing region : convenient traffic place - in Seoul. 5. Building site and kind : the first floor space of 60pyung (198㎡) in the Apartment complex which . contained many apartments of small size. 6. Nursing time : 24-hour day care in weekdays Age of object : age from 1month to 24months old babies(after his/her birth). 7. Kind of services and Cost : mother-like care, cost includes nursing-fee, a deposit and admission-fee. 8. Economic Condition and managing direction : pursuit limited profits with nursing-fee, admission-fee, a loan and national (or self -government of direct) supplementary funds.
To survive in the competitive environment, hospitals pay more attention to patient satisfaction than ever before. Nurses are the employee that have frequent interactions with patients in a hospital, and therefore, the effective management of nursing staff is crucial to maintain high level of patient satisfaction. Searching for a way to an effective human resource management in nursing, this study attempted to investigate the pre-dispositional factors of customer orientation of registered nurses in a hospital. The customer orientation concept is originated from marketing literature and defined as the attitude of employee that focus on establishing a long term relationship rather than short term gains in dealing with customers. The study hypothesized that the personal trait of individual and the perceived level of empowerment affect the level of customer orientation of nurses. We tested the hypothesis 10 a teaching hospital. Three-hundred seventy two nurses were surveyed and 235 responses were collected. Out of the 235 responses, 24 responses were discarded due to the incomplete answers to the questionnaire and 211 responses were analyzed. The data were analyzed using factor analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the enjoyment dimension of customer orientation was affected by the agreeableness, consciousness, and openness of personal traits and the need dimension of customer orientation was affected by the agreeableness and level of empowerment. Based on the results the research and nursing resources management implications were discussed.

Purpose: This study was performed to identify the effect of admission type on college adaptation and academic achievement in one nursing school in order to refine the entrance selection system. Methods: Subjects were 405 nursing students (female : male = 385 : 20, first grade = 155, second grade = 138, third grade = 112). They were given the Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ) purchased from Western Psychological Service. SACQ is composed of 67 questions and subdivided into 4 subcategories: academic adjustment, social adjustment, personal-emotional adjustment, and attachment. Student college adaptation scores and academic achievements were analyzed with reference to the entrance selection system (rolling admission vs. regular admission) by SPSS 22.0. The rolling admission system recruited students based on high school records only while the regular admission system was based on both high school records and the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT). Results: Total College adaptation score, personal-emotional adjustment score, and academic achievement were higher in regular-admission students than in those admitted through rolling admission. Academic achievement for first-grade students was higher in regular-admission students than for those admitted through rolling admission, But the difference in academic achievement became null as students were promoted to the second and third grades. Conclusion: Students recruited using both high school records and the CSAT showed better college adaptation and higher academic achievement.

In this study, we analyzed the factors influencing internal marketing at hospitals on job satisfaction and customer orientation among nurses in order to provide basic data necessary for management of nursing personnel. From December 26, 2018 to January 4, 2019, the study surveyed 255 nurses at a general hospital in Gyeonggi Province. For data analysis, frequency analysis, factor analysis, correlation, and linear regression analysis were performed using the SPSS 21.0 program. First, the results of this study show that the effect of marketing inside the hospital on job satisfaction was statistically significant. Second, marketing inside hospitals was found to have a statistically significant effect on customer orientation. Thirdly, it was found that the effect of job satisfaction on customer orientation was statistically significant. Fourth, the effect of job satisfaction parameters on the relationship between marketing and customer orientation within the hospital 1st and 2nd stages appeared to have a statistically significant positive (+) impact, and three steps were found to be independent variables. The regression coefficients for organizational vision and future image, organizational attributes and systems, communication, and education/training system by sub-factors of internal marketing at hospitals significantly appeared.

Purpose: This study was performed to identify the level of Korean elderly's knowledge regarding concepts of end-of-life (EOL), Life-sustaining-treatment (LST), and advance directives (AD) which are critical aspects for establishing AD in Korean society. Methods: A questionnaire survey was done between October 2011 and February 2012. Knowledge of AD was evaluated with 3 aspects including EOL, LST, and AD utilizing a questionnaire that was developed by authors for the study. Data were collected from 268 community dwelling elderly from three cities and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, one-way analysis of variance, and a Scheffe post hoc test with SAS Ver. 9.1 program. Results: Overall, Korean elderly were poorly acquainted with AD related concepts. Significant differences in awareness of AD including understanding of EOL, the level of comprehension of LST, and knowledge about AD were revealed by gender, education level, economic state, and acquaintance with terms of AD or LST. Conclusion: To acknowledge autonomy and support quality of life for elderly and to meet the purpose of AD, attention should be given to target populations including elderly in terms of knowledge level related to AD, social marketing, and infra structure relevant to practice AD in our society.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop the competencies of the administrator and the behavioral indicators, and with those as the foundation it is to measure the importance and the performance. Method: On the basis of literature review, the researcher made a preliminary competency and the behavioral indicator for the administrator. Developed competency and behavioral indicator went through the content validity using CVI. Finally, 20 different competencies and 87 behavioral indicators of the administrators in long-term care facility helped measuring the importance of the present administrator's competency and the performance. Results: The competencies are Achievement Orientation, Initiative, Information Seeking, Interpersonal Understanding, Customer Service Orientation, Marketing, Influence, Organizational Awareness, Relationship Building, Staff Development, Assertiveness, Teamwork and Cooperation, Leadership, Analytical Thinking, Conceptual Thinking, Managerial Expertise, Self Control, Self Confidence, Flexibility and Organizational Commitment. For the contents, 87 behavioral indicators are included. The importance and the performance were confirmed by Importance Performance Analysis. The importance of each behavioral indicator in each field and the performance were confirmed with the mean and the standard deviation. Conclusion: The competencies and behavioral indicators of an administrator which were developed by this study are considered that they can be used as the effective guides in the practical field and can also be used as basic materials for developing educational program.

Nurse staffing level is an important factor that influences the quality of health service and patient outcomes. This study was carried out to examine the current state of acute hospital nurse staffing and find out factors that affect the nurse staffing level. Nurse staffing of individual hospitals was measured using the number of registered nurses per 100 beds. Descriptive and multiple regression analyses were conducted using 592 acute care hospitals' data. Regression model included structure factors such as referral level, ownership, medical and general staffing, and financial outcome factors such as occupancy rate, inpatient and outpatient revenues. Market characteristics included strength of competition, supply of nurses, and income and health status level of consumers. The average number of nurses per 100 beds was 28 and showed a great variation according to the referral level. Regression model explained this variation as much as 76.87%. Hospital structure variables which affecting the hospital nurse staffing level positively were ICU bed ratio, the staffing level of specialist, training doctor and employees except doctor and nursing personnel, while the negative factor was nurse aid staffing level. General hospitals employed more nurses than hospitals. Among outcome characteristics, occupancy rate and the amount of health insurance inpatient revenue affected positively on the hospital nurse staffing level. The more supply of the new nurse and the higher consumer income and health status in the medical service markets, the more nurses were employed by the medical institutes. According to the study result, hospitals employed more nurses when they had more financial incentive by increasing nurses. This means appropriate hospital incentive policy and regulation policy, which hospital violate nurse staffing level have to pay penality, should be needed. Clarifying job description between nurses and nurse aids and the reentry program for unemployed experienced nurses will be helpful to increase nurse staffing level.
