The purpose of this study is to survey evaluation of the nurse on the current Performance Appraisal System. the need for future performance of the nurse and the opinions about the job rotation, and suggest the direction of improvement by obtaining basic data to improve personnel management of the nurse in a hosipial, the subject of the investigation. The study was conducted self-reporting questionniare survey of 330 nurses working at C hospital located in Chonbuk Province and the data was collected from May 4. 1999 through May 14. The research used measuring instrument developed by researcher for evalution about the present performance appraisal. the need for the future performanc appraisal system and the opinion of job rotaion. The analysis of the collected data was computerized using SPSS/PC+ program, calculated frequency, percentage, the mean and standard deviation and used Pearson, s Correlation Coefficients, t-test, chi- square test. Major findings are as follows. 1) As for the purpose of the current performanc appraisal, the appraiser recognized it as a security of promotion standard, while the employee saw it as a means for control as guidance and supervison of work. 2) With regard to use the result of the present performance appraisal, appraiser picked ambiguous appraisal standard, employees recognized unilateral evaluation of superior eliminated the participation of them as the highest priority. 3) In relation to the current criteria for promotion of the nurse, both appraisers and employees placed more weight on the length of clinical than performance appraisal score. 4) There is much possibility of the appraiser making an error to evaluate considering the length of performance appraisal. 5) Both appraisers and employees indicated that prospective result of performance appraisal should be used for the ability development & motivation of the individual. 6) Concerning employee's participation for performance appraisal both sides wanted by far more participation. 7) Regarding the most ideal appraisal method, both parties favored most the way added up the evaluation of the head nurse and peer review and followed by the manner the revaluation of the head nurse by considering self-evaluation. 8) As to the individual interview after the appraisal, more than 60% of appraisers responded it's not necessary, while above 88.5% of employees answered it is essential so that it is showed significantly difference between the appraisers and the employees. 9) As far as open of the evaluation result is concerned. 75% of the appraiser were against it but 80% of the employee were for it so that it showed significantly between them. The most principal reason that the employee want is that it motivates the individual's ability development and the fairness of the appraisal increases. 10) Whether the periodical rotation is necessary or not, 80% of appraisers and employees answered it's necessary, however, over 70% of them did not want the rotation. 11) Work-group Cohesiveness level within the nursing unit was attentive different from desire of the rotation, that is, the work group cohesiveness level of nurses wanting rotation was significantly lower than that of the group not desiring it.

This study attempted to determine the effects of job stress, nursing problem-solving ability, nursing work performance, and job stress and nursing problem-solving ability on nursing work performance according to the MBTI type of nurses. The study subjects were 141 nurses working at a medical institution in G Province, and data collection was conducted from March 01 to March 31, 2024. The collected data were analyzed using correlation and multiple regression analysis. Among the psychological function types of MBTI, the SF type (sympathetic and friendly type) was the most common, and among the psychological temperament types, the SP type (sensuous and open type) was the most common. Nursing work performance had a negative correlation with job resource stress, a positive correlation with nursing problem-solving ability, and a positive correlation with problem recognition, information collection, planning ability, and evaluation. The variable that had a significant impact on nursing work performance was job resources, and problem recognition, a subfactor of nursing problem-solving ability, was found to be the best predictor of nursing work performance, followed by planning ability. The explanatory power was 17.8%. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data to develop efficient nursing management guidelines by not only improving understanding of the personality of nurses but also investigating factors related to nurses' work performance. Through the development of programs and measures to improve nursing performance, it is necessary to revitalize programs, provide educational opportunities, and provide institutional support from hospital organizations to enable high-quality nursing care through skilled nursing work.
The purpose of this study was to find out the present condition of clinical practice and to develop a scheme on the efficiency of clinical practice for nursing education in junior college of nursing in korea. This study was conducted by 2 sections. Ist section was to find out the present condition of clinical practice to 42 directors of nursing collegd and data were collected July 8 to September 30, 1988. 2nd section wat to develop a scheme on the efficiency of clinical practice for nursing education and subjects were nursing professors 258: and clinical nurses 223 in 42 junior nursing colleges their clinical settings in korea. So total subjects were 481. Data were collected july 8, 1988 to June 30, 1988 and were analysed to get the mean, standand deviation, frequency, percentage, t-test, x-test used by SPSS - pc. Major findings were as follows: 1. The present condition of clinical education in junior college of nursing in Korea. 1) 32 colleges (76.2%) were managed by a-yeas system. 2) 25 colleges (59.5%) were performed by individual practice for each subject. 3) 4 weeks interval between class education and clinical education was a major type among total colleges(36.6%, J5 colleges) 4) 30 colleges (71.4%) provided clinical education for all subjects that should be practiced. Nursing administration wes not practiced in 5 colleges (41.9%) among the remainder(12 colleges). The main cause that all practice subjects were not practiced was the lack or absence of suitable clinical settings(8 colleges. 66.7%) 5) 18 colleges (42.9%) responded that a clinical educator was, subject-charged professor. 6) 12 colleges (29.3%) responded that a clinical instructor was in charge of 6~10 students. 7) The evaluation ration ratio(professor to head nurse) by each evaluator was mostly 50% to 50 % and 60% to 40%, respectively 11 colleges(27.5%) The most common evaluation methods were evaluation by head nures, report, presence, conference (11 colleges, 27.5%) 8) The field carrier of professor was mostly 2 years (79 persons, 20.7%) and mean was 3.2 years. The education carrier of a professor was mostly over than 6 years (261 persons, 66.4%) and mean was 9.2 years. The charge hours per-week of a professor were mostly 16-18 hours (16 persons, 131.8%) 9) 34 colleges (82.9%) approved that clinical practice hour was class hour and 18 colleges (43.9 %) counted that 2 hours of clinical education equaled 1 hour of class education. 2. A study 'on the efficiency of clinical practice for nursing education. L) general characteristics of subjects were as follows: kung-sang province (145 persons, 30.5%), 30-34 years (190 persons, 39.8%), graduated degree (245 persons, 51.5%), 6-10 years of carrier (199 persons, 41.4%) were the majority. 2) suitable clinical setting was responded the systematic ward with responsible clinical educator by 210 persons(43.8%) The response by working field of subjects showed a significant difference (p< 0.01) 3) 259 subjects (54.0%) responded that the desirable qualfication of clinical instructor was 3-5 years of clinical experience with master degree or higher. 4) The mean score of desirable quality degree of clinical instructor was 3.43 professors, score (3.54) was significantly higher than clinical nurses' (3.28) (p<0.01) 412 subjects (86.0%) responded that the insufficient guality of instructor was improved by continuing to seek more new information in reference. 5) 196 subjects (41.4%) responded that desirable qualification of head nurse was more than 2 years of head position among 5 years of clinical experience. The response by working' field of subjects showed a significant difference (p<0.05) 6) The mean score of desirable quality degree of head nurse was 3.18 Clinical nurses' score(3.38) was significantly higher than professors' (3.01) (p<0.01) 419 subjects (87.8%) responded that the insufficient of head nurse was improved by continuing relationship with instructor and being responsible from planing of clinical education. 7) The mean score of performance level of the desirable clinical education guide incollege was 2.91 Professors' score (2.96) was significantly higher than clinical nurses' (2.84) (p<0.01) 340 subjects (71.1%) responded that the possible resolution for poor performance was the more specified syllabus of clinical education and the satisfiable orientation for students. 8) The mean score of performance level of the desirable clinical education guide in hospital was 3.03 9) 141 subjects (29.6%) responded that the desirable clinical evaluator was the group of professor, head nurse, staff nurse. Response by working field of subjects was a significant difference (p< 0.05) 10) The mean score of performance level of the evaluation content needed in clinical education was 3.50 Clinical nurses' score (3.56) was significantly higher than professors' (3.45) (p<0.01) 11) 433 subjects (90.2%) responded that6 desirable evaluation method for clinical education was the presence. 12) The mean score of performance level about how personal difference among clinical educators was minimized was 2.89 and response by working field of subjects was not significant. The cause of poor performance was too much workload at clinical settings and too many students st colleges by 386 subjects (81.1%).

Purpose: The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the importance of nurses' clinical performance, and accordingly, nursing educators have emphasized students' clinical practice and performance. This study developed a Clinical Practice Self-Efficacy Scale for nursing students and examined its psychometric properties. Methods: The authors reviewed instruments for selecting items for the scale in the areas of clinical skills, communication, infection control, safety, and nursing process. After preliminary items were selected, ten experts consisting of nursing professors and clinical nurses reviewed the items considering Korean clinical and educational situations. The data for the psychometric evaluation was collected from 257 nursing students in their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years and then analyzed. Results: The confirmatory factor analysis showed that the goodness of fit of this scale with five factors represented by 40 items was appropriate. The significant positive correlations with general self-efficacy indicated sound construct validity. The senior nursing students showed higher scores than others, as we expected. Cronbach's alpha was .94. Conclusion: The Clinical Practice Self-Efficacy Scale is appropriate for measuring Korean nursing students' self-efficacy of clinical practice. It is expected to act as a good tool to measure the effects of clinical practice education.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a balanced scorecard (BSC) for performance measurement of a Korean hospital nursing organization and to evaluate the validity and reliability of performance measurement indicators. Method: Two hundred fifty-nine nurses in a Korean hospital participated in a survey questionnaire that included 29-item performance evaluation indicators developed by investigators of this study based on the Kaplan and Norton's BSC (1992). Cronbach's alpha was used to test the reliability of the BSC. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis with a structure equation model (SEM) was applied to assess the construct validity of the BSC. Result: Cronbach's alpha of 29 items was .948. Factor analysis of the BSC showed 5 principal components (eigen value>1.0) which explained 62.7% of the total variance, and it included a new one, community service. The SEM analysis results showed that 5 components were significant for the hospital BSC tool. Conclusion: High degree of reliability and validity of this BSC suggests that it may be used for performance measurements of a Korean hospital nursing organization. Future studies may consider including a balanced number of nurse managers and staff nurses in the study. Further data analysis on the relationships among factors is recommended.

Purpose: This study's aim was to confirm the importance and performance of the clinical practice of nurses working in the general wards of a tertiary hospital and to analyze their educational needs. Methods: The study employed a descriptive research design, and a self-reported questionnaire was developed and used for nurses in a tertiary hospital. Data were collected from July 22 to July 29, 2022, analyzed by an independent t-test, paired t-test, and one-way ANOVA for the importance and performance of each clinical nursing practice according to general characteristics, and then a post hoc verification was performed by Scheffé's test. An Importance-Performance Analysis and Borich needs assessment model were used to analyze clinical nursing education needs. Results: Clinical nursing practice performance showed a significant difference according to length of total clinical career, time working in current department, and preceptor experience. According to the results of the Importance-Performance Analysis, neurological evaluation, and nursing intervention, artificial respirator and high-flow oxygen inhalation nursing, chemotherapy, emergency nursing, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation were identified as belonging to the "concentrate here" quadrant. All these items ranked in the top 10 in the Borich needs assessment model. Conclusion: Based on these results, the current education system should be reviewed, and short and long term education strategies based on educational needs should be established to strengthen the competence of nurses.
Purpose: The main purpose of this study was to compare the effects of OSCE method and the traditional evaluation method on nursing skills performance of students enrolled in fundamentals of nursing courses. Method: The study was designed as a quasi-experimental, nonequivalent control group post test design with two classes of sophomore students attending fundamentals of nursing courses at one baccaleureate nursing school located in a metropolitan Seoul area. The control group was evaluated using a traditional method and the experimental group was evaluated using the OSCE method. Data were collected from June, 2001 to June, 2002. There were 35 students in the OSCE method group and 39 students in the control group. Data analysis was done using SPSS WIN 9.0. Result: The results showed that the students in the OSCE method group did significantly better in clinical nursing skills performance than the students in the traditional method group. And the OSCE method group showed significantly higher satisfaction score in the evaluation method than the control group. Conclusion: The OSCE method is an effective tool for evaluating clinical nursing skills performance in student nurses. It is necessary to explore more efficient ways to develop OSCE cases in wider areas of nursing education. It is also recommended to replicate similar studies in nursing education.

Method: The study was designed as a quasi-experimental, nonequivalent control group post test design with two classes of sophomore students attending fundamentals of nursing courses at one baccaleureate nursing school located in a metropolitan Seoul area. Control group was evaluated by using a traditional method and the experimental group was evaluated by using the OSCE method. Data were collected from April, 2001 to November, 2002. There were 35 students in the OSCE method group, 39 students in the control group. Data analysis was done using SPSS WIN 11.0. Result: The results showed that the students in the OSCE method group did significantly better in clinical nursing skills performance than the students in the traditional method group. And the OSCE method group showed significantly higher satisfaction score in the evaluation method than the control group. Conclusion: The OSCE method is an effective in evaluating clinical nursing skills performance for student nurses. It is necessary to explore more reliable ways to compare the evaluation method by the same student. Also, it is recommended to replicate similar studies in nursing education.

Purpose: This study was conducted to develop standards to ensure nursing process-based care of oxygen therapy and airway suctioning and to develop a performance measurement tool to evaluate the care applied according to the standards, and finally to determine validity of the standards and the tool. Methods: The standards and the tool were reviewed by a panel of experts and refined based on the panel's suggestions. Validity of the standards and the tool were examined through surveying a total of 366 hospital nurses. Results: The mean validity scores of the performance measurement standards and the tool were 3.58 and 3.55, respectively, out of 4.00. So the performance measurement standards and the tool in this study were found to be acceptable in evaluating quality of nursing care provided at patient admission and discharge. Conclusion: This result indicates that the performance measurement standards and the tool developed in this study are valid instruments to monitor and improve quality of nursing care for oxygen therapy and airway suctioning.

This study was undertaken to determine the evaluation of the application of the nursing process which is an orderly. systemic min of deforming the patient's/client's nursing problems. This study involved 191 cases with patient chart and was carried out from Feb. 1979 to Feb. 1980 is Ewha Womans University Hospital. The results were as follows : 1. Actual performance of“Assessment”stage was 59%, and 45 % for the nursing diagnosis. 2. It was achieved with specific planning of nursing care for 71.6% and the plan was safely and effective implemented (97.9% ). 3. Afer“Implement”stage it was made of evaluation and feedback process (39%). 4. Nurses in Eha womans University hospital. they showed the Positive attitude toward the application of nursing process. but they saggested that there were lack of manpower and the consideration of time allocation. Recommandation are as follows : 1. All nursing staff must participate in continious education program for nursing process. 2. The results suggest a need for modification for the nursing history formeat and SOAPIER. 3. A need for improvement of physical condition for interview and effective utilization of nursing staff. 4. It will more effective when Dr's medical record replace by problem ariented aedical record( POMR).

1. (시행일) 이 약관은 2016년 9월 5일부터 적용되며, 종전 약관은 본 약관으로 대체되며, 개정된 약관의 적용일 이전 가입자도 개정된 약관의 적용을 받습니다.
