온도 민감 형광을 이용한 마이크로 스케일 표면온도 측정 (Surface Temperature Measurement in Microscale with Temperature Sensitive Fluorescence)

  • A technique for measuring surface temperature field in micro scale is newly proposed, which uses temperature-sensitive fluorescent (TSF) dye coated on the surface and is easily implemented with a fluorescence microscope and a CCD camera. The TSF dye is chosen among mixtures of various chemical compositions including rhodamine B as the fluorescent dye to be most sensitive to temperature change. In order to examine the effectiveness of this temperature measurement technique, numerical analysis and experiment on transient conduction heat transfer for two different substrate materials, i. e., silicon and glass, are performed. In the experiment, to accurately measure the temperature with high resolution temperature calibration curves were obtained with very fine spatial units. The experimental results agree qualitatively well with the numerical data in the silicon and glass substrate cases so that the present temperature measurement method proves to be quite reliable. In addition, it is noteworthy that the glass substrate is more appropriate to be used as thermally-insulating locally-heating heater in micro thermal devices. This fact is identified in the temperature measuring experiment on the locally-heating heaters made on the wafer of silicon and glass substrates. Accordingly, this technique is capable of accurate and non-intrusive high-resolution measurement of temperature field in microscale.

  • Present study is concerned with an experimental study on the cooling characteristics of heat-generating components arranged in channels which are made by printed circuit boards. To assess the thermal performance of the heat-generating components arranged by $5\times11$ in flow channel, three variables are used: the velocity of the fluid at the entrance, the height of channel, and row number of the component. The cooling characteristics of the heat-generating components such as the surface temperature rise, the adiabatic temperature rise, the adiabatic heat transfer coefficient, and the effect of thermal wake are compared with the result of the experiment and the numerical analysis. Based on the experiment analysis, some conclusions can be drawn: First of all, the experiment and numerical analysis are identical comparatively; the heat transfer coefficient increases as H/B decreases. Howeve., when H/B is over 7.2, the effect of H/B is rather trivial. The effect is the biggest at the first component from the entrance, and it decreases until the fully developed flow, where it becomes very consistent. The thermal wake function calculated for each row decreases as H/B increases.

회전요동하는 원통내의 유동특성 - 수치해석 및 실험 (Fluid Flow in a Circular Cylinder Subject to Circulatory Oscillation-Numerical Analysis and Experiment)

  • A fluid flow inside a circular cylinder subject to horizontal, circular oscillation is analyzed numerically and experimentally. The steady streaming velocities at the edges of the boundary layers on the bottom and side surfaces of the cylinder obtained in the previous paper are used as the boundary conditions in the governing equations for the steady flow motion in the interior region. The Stokes' drift velocity obtained in the previous paper also constitutes the Lagrangian velocity which is used in the momentum equations. It turns out that the interior steady flow is composed of one cell, ascending at the center and descending near the side surface, at the streaming Reynolds number 2500. However, at the streaming Reynolds number 25, the flow field is divided into two cells resulting in a descending flow at the center. The experimentally visualized flow patterns at the bottom surface agree well with the analytical solutions. The visualization experiment also confirms the flow direction as well as the center position of the cell obtained by the numerical solutions.

승용차 4륜 조향(4WS) 장치용 비례 압력 제어 밸브의 특성에 관한 연구 (Characteristics of the Proportional Pressure Control Valve for 4 Wheel Steering System on the Passenger Car)

  • The proportional pressure control valve(PCV) is an essential component in the open loop controlled rear wheel steering gear of the four wheel steering(4WS) system on the passenger car. The valve should have versatile functions and higher performance. But, it is hard to find the proportional pressure control valve suitable for the 4WS system. In this paper, the determination of the valve parameters was studied by the stability discrimination and the characteristic analysis for the purpose of the development of a new PCV for the 4WS. The mathematical model of the valve was derived from the valve-cylinder system and the programme for numerical computation was developed. The transfer function of the system was obtained from the mathematical model. The characteristics of the valve were inspected through the experiment and compared to those obtained by numerical method. And then the stability discrimination of the system was done by root locus and the analysis of characteristics was done by the developed programme. From the experiment and the analysis of characteristics was done by the developed programme. From the experiment and the inspection, the appropriation of mathematical model and the usefulness of the programme were confirmed. And the parameters which might affect the performance of the valve can be determined by considering the stability discrimination, the characteristics analysis and required functions.

Manta형 무인잠수정의 조종운동 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Manoeuvring Motion Characteristics of Manta-type Unmanned Undersea Vehicle)

  • The authors adopt the Unmanned Undersea Vehicle(UUV), which has taken the shape of manta(Sohn et al. 2006). They call here it Manta-type Unmanned Undersea Test Vehicle(MUUTV). MUUTV is based on the same design concept as UUV called Manta Test Vehicle, which was originally built and operated by the Naval Undersea Warfare Center(Lisiewicz and French 2000, Sirmalis et al. 2001). In order to evaluate manoeuvring motion characteristics of MUUTV, numerical simulation technique has been utilized. Previous mathematical model on manoeuvring motion of MUUTV(Sohn et al. 2006) is basically adopted. Result of static experiment carried out in circulating water channel and a part of NSRDC standard model(Feldman 1979) on rotational mode are supplemented. Some of the hydrodynamic derivatives are obtained from model experiment in circulating water channel and the rest of them are estimated.

Evaluation of vibration characteristics according to changes in the fixing conditions of the electrical cabinet in power plants under an earthquake

  • This study is a basic study on the seismic reinforcement method of anchors of fixed parts in order to reduce the effect of seismic motion that affects the facilities in the event of an earthquake. By applying the test method of ICC ES AC 156, a seismic simulation experiment was performed on the vibration table with three axes simultaneously using the number of connecting bolts between cabinets and channels as a parameter. In addition, the reliability of the experiment was verified using numerical analysis, and the part about the dynamic characteristics that could not be performed according to the experimental limit was investigated through numerical analysis. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the natural frequency of the main body was increased due to the increase in the number of connecting bolts between the cabinet-channel. Accordingly, it was judged that the rigidity of the lower part of the cabinet was increased due to seismic reinforcement. It was analyzed that the impact delivered to the body was effectively reduced. In the future, if the reinforcement of the connection parts mentioned in this study is added to the existing seismic reinforcement of the electrical cabinets, it is expected that the damage to the electrical cabinets of the power plant equipment caused by an earthquake will be effectively reduced.

제주재래흑돼지와 Landrace, 교배집단 F2에서 척추의 수적 변이와 도체형질의 상관관계 (Association between Numerical Variations of Vertebrae and Carcass Traits in Jeju Native Black Pigs, Landrace Pigs, and Crossbred F2 Population)

  • 포유류 중 돼지의 척추 중 요추, 흉추의 수는 고정되지 않은 형질로 개체간의 차이를 나타내는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구는 제주재래흑돼지와 Landrace, 두 품종 간 $F_2$ 교배집단에서 경추 수, 흉추 수, 요추 수, 척추 수 등 체형관련 형질과 도체형질의 상관관계를 살펴보기 위해 수행되었다. 세 축군 모두 경추 수의 변이는 나타나지 않았으나, 흉추 수, 요추 수, 척추 수는 상이한 양상을 보였다. 도체형질의 성적과 요추 수만이 세 축군들 사이에서 통계적인 유의성을 나타내지 않았고(p>0.05), 도체중, 육색, 근내지방도, 등심단면적, 등지방두께, 도체장, 흉추수, 척추 수 등은 통계적인 유의성을 나타내었다(p<0.05). 제주재래흑돼지는 흉추 수 14-16 개, 요추 수 5-6 개, 척추 수 27-29 개의 범위, Landrace는 흉추 수 15-16 개, 요추 수 5-7 개, 전체 척추 수 28-29 개, $F_2$ 교배집단은 흉추 수 14-17, 요추 수 5-7 개, 전체 척추 수 27-30 개로 확인되었다. $F_2$ 교배집단에서 흉추 수와 척추 수의 증가는 도체중, 도체장, 등지방두께의 평균이 유의적으로 다른 양상을 보인다(p<0.05). 또한 척추 수의 증가는 요추 수의 증가보다 흉추 수의 증가에 더 많은 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 흉추 수 및 척추 수의 증가가 등지방두께를 점점 두껍게 만들기는 하지만, 도체중과 도체장 등 경제성을 결정하는 핵심적인 도체형질을 향상시킨다는 점은 추후 제주재래흑돼지나 Landrace 품종을 활용한 양돈산업에서 체형개선을 통한 생산성 증가를 유발할 수 있는 좋은 전략이 될 것으로 판단된다.

Sensitivity of a control rod worth estimate to neutron detector position by time-dependent Monte Carlo simulations of the rod drop experiment

  • The control rod worth sensitivity to the neutron detector position in the rod drop experiment is studied by the time-dependent Monte Carlo (TDMC) neutron transport calculations for AGN-201K educational reactor and the Kyoto University Critical Assembly. The TDMC simulations of the rod drop experiments are conducted by the Seoul National University Monte Carlo (MC) code, McCARD, yielding time-dependent neutron densities at detector positions. The detector-position-dependent results of the total control rod worth calculated by the extrapolation, the integral counting, and the inverse methods are compared with the numerical reference using the MC eigenvalue calculations and the experimental results. From these comparisons, it is observed that the total control rod worth can be estimated with a considerable difference depending on the detector position through the rod drop experiment. The proposed TDMC simulation of the rod drop experiment can be applied for searching a better detector position or quantifying a bias for the control rod worth measurement.

단변분 탐색법에 기초한 고속철도교량의 수치해석 모델 개선 (Numerical Model Updating Based on Univariate Search Method for High Speed Railway Bridges)

  • 유한요소 해석 기술의 발달에 따라 수치해석은 실구조물의 상태파악 및 유지관리에 중요한 요소가 되었다. 이러한 유한요소 해석모델을 이용하여 실 구조물의 상태 파악하고 수치 실험을 행하기 위해서는 계측 응답을 바탕으로 수치해석 모델의 개선이 반드시 이루어져야 한다. 본 연구에서는 새롭게 개발된 단변분 탐색법을 기반으로 반복적 개선을 수행하면서도 미분함수를 작성하지 않아도 되는 새로운 수치해석모델 개선기법을 소개하고, 동적안정성 분석을 통하여 고속철도교량에서의 적용성을 검토하였다. 정확한 동특성 분석을 위하여 무선계측시스템과 계측점 이동법을 이용한 세밀한 계측을 실시하고, 상관성 검토 및 모드분해기법을 활용하여 고유진동수와 모드형상을 추정하였다. 설계자료를 바탕으로 구축된 수치해석 초기 모델을 추정된 동특성과 개발된 수치해석 모델 개선 기법을 이용하여 모델 개선을 수행하였으며, 개선된 모델을 이용한 수치 실험 결과와 실 교량에서의 응답과 비교하여 수치해석 모델 개선 기법의 적용성을 검토하였다. 또한, 개선된 모델의 유용성을 검토하기 위하여 고속철도교량의 동적안정성 분석을 실시하여 성공적으로 수행할 수 있었다. 개발된 수치해석 모델 개선기법의 적용성을 추가적으로 검증된다면, 다양한 구조물 및 교량에서 개발된 수치해석 모델 개선기법을 사용할 수 있을 것이다.
