Multi-stage design procedure for modal controllers of multi-input defective systems

  • The modal controller of single-input system cannot stabilize the defective system with positive real part of repeated eigenvalues, because some of the generalized modes are uncontrollable. In order to stabilize the uncontrollable modes with positive real part of eigenvalues, the multi-input system should be introduced. This paper presents a recursive procedure for designing the feedback controller of the multi-input system with defective repeated eigenvalues. For a nearly defective system, we first transform it into a defective one, and apply the same method to manage. The proposed methods are based on the modal coordinate equations, to avoid the tedious mathematic manipulation. As an application of the presented procedure, two numerical examples are given at end of the paper.

  • 본 논문에서는 탐사선을 소천체에 착륙시키기 위한 자율 착륙 기법을 제시하였다. 제시된 기법은 탐사선이 스스로 착륙을 위한 위치 및 자세 프로파일을 생성하고 이를 추종하는 구조를 가지며, 위치 및 자세 추종을 위한 제어기를 설계함에 있어 소천체 및 탐사선의 환경 불확실성에 대해 강인한 특성을 갖는 이산 슬라이딩 모드 제어법칙을 바탕으로 하였다. 착륙을 위한 자율 항법 기법으로는 시각기반 관성항법을 적용하였으며, 제시된 착륙 기법은 다양한 불확실성이 존재하는 상황에서의 수치 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증되었다.

  • This paper deals with a design of reliable state feedback controllers for continuous time polynomial systems with actuator failures. The goal is to find an asymptotically stabilizing controller such that the closed loop system achieves the prescribed decay rate in the actuator failure cases. Based on a sum of squares (SOS) approach, a design method for reliable nonlinear controller is presented. In order to demonstrate our design method, a numerical example is shown.

Double controller of wind induced bending oscillations in telecom towers

  • Wind induced large bending oscillation amplitudes in tall and slender telecommunication steel towers may lead to precocious fatigue cracks and consequent risk of collapse of these structures, many of them installed in rural areas alongside highways and in highly populated urban areas. Varying stress amplitudes at hot spots may be attenuated by means of passive control mechanical devices installed in the tower. This paper gives an account of both mathematical-numerical model and the technique applied to design and evaluate the performance of a double controller installed in existing towers which is composed by a nonlinear pendulum and a novel type of passive controller described herein as a planar motion disk mounted on shear springs. Results of experimental measurements carried out on two slender tubular steel towers under wind action demonstrate the efficiency of the double controllers in attenuating the towers bending oscillation amplitudes and consequent stress amplitudes extending the towers fatigue life.

  • 본 논문에서는 Flexible Flat Cable을 생산하는 기계에서 작업시 텐션양을 조절하는 콘트롤러에 대해 하중과 모멘트를 변화시켜 적용하고 또한 텐션 콘트롤러 각각의 하중이 프레임에 집중할 때 처짐량을 알기 위하여 ANSYS로 구조해석을 수행하였다. 해석 결과로는 응력, 변형률과 최대변형량을 구하여 구조적 타당성을 검토하고 이를 설계에 반영한다.

On Solving the Tree-Topology Design Problem for Wireless Cellular Networks

  • In this paper, we study a wireless cellular network design problem. It consists of selecting the location of the base station controllers and mobile service switching centres, selecting their types, designing the network into a tree-topology, and selecting the link types, while considering the location and the demand of base transceiver stations. We propose a constraint programming model and develop a heuristic combining local search and constraint programming techniques to find very good solutions in a reasonable amount of time for this category of problem. Numerical results show that our approach, on average, improves the results from the literature.

  • In this study, the properties of Thermally Stimulated Current is measured automatic Data Acquisition System with a A/D Converter set. The A/D Converter set is configured with DIO 8255(Intel), AMD 9513 Timer/Counter and some Programed Controllers. Especially, the numerical method of asymtotic estimation to separate single relaxation curve and physical factors related to charged particles were obtained rapidely and completely. As a result, the data obtained by automatic Acquisition System need to be corrected to average value and the whole control and inspectation system is needed.

  • In designing fuzzy models and controllers, we encounter a major difficulty in the identification f an optimized fuzzy rule base, which is traditionally achieved by a tedious trial-and-error process. This paper presents an approach to the evolutionary design of an optimal fuzzy rule base for modeling and control. Evolutionary programming is used to simultaneously evolve the structure and the parameter of fuzzy rule base for a given task. To check the effectiveness of the suggested approach, four numerical examples are examined. The performance of the identified fuzzy rule bases is demonstrated.

  • This paper presents an iterative linear matrix inequality (LMI) method for $H_2$ and $H_{\infty}$ optimal static output feedback (SOF) control, which is expressed in terms of LMIs subject to an additional rank condition. We propose a linear Penalty function to penalize the rank constraint so that static $H_2$ and $H_{\infty}$ synthesis results in solving a series of convex LMI optimization problems. Numerical experiments for various $H_2$ and $H_{\infty}$ SOF synthesis were performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
