Underwater shape and hook depth in tuna longline gear are important factors to decide fishing performance. It also should be considered that management and analysis of hooked rate data from hooked fish species and sizes, and each fishing would be used as a reference data in the future fishing. In this research, after analyzing underwater shape of tuna longline gear by current direction and speed using simulation, experiments were executed in flume tank to verify accuracy of the analysis. Also using the depth of each hook from the simulation, a database system was setup to process the data of bait and hooked fish species. The results were as follows;1. When the attack angle and the shortening rate are fixed, a decrease of the hook depth is proportion to an increase of current speed. 2. When the shortening rate and current speed are fixed, a decrease of hook depth is proportion to an increase of attack angle. 3. When the attack angle and velocity of flow are fixed, a decrease of hook depth is proportion to an increase of shortening rate 4. As a result of comparison between the underwater shape by simulation and that by model gear, the result of the simulation was very close to that of model gear within $$ {\pm}3%$$ 3% error range. 5. In this research, hooked rate database system using hook depth of simulation can analyze the species and size of fish by the parameter; bait. hook depth, so It could be helpful to manage and analyze the hooked data on the field.

Double-leaf blast-resistant doors consisting of steel box and slab are application-specific structures installed at the entrances of protective facilities. In these structural systems, certain spacing is provided between the door and wall. However, variation in the boundary condition and structural behavior due to this spacing are not properly considered in the explosion analysis and design. In this study, the structural response and failure behavior based on two variables such as the spacing and blast pressure were analyzed using the finite element method. The results revealed that the two variables affected the overall structural behavior such as the maximum and permanent deflections. The degree of contact due to collision between the door and wall and the impact force applied to the door varied according to the spacing. Hence, the shear-failure behavior of the concrete slab was affected by this impact force. Doors with spacing of less than 10 mm were vulnerable to shear failure, and the case of approximately 15-mm spacing was more reasonable for increasing the flexural performance. For further study, tests and numerical research on the structural behavior are needed by considering other variables such as specifications of the structural members and details of the slab shear design.

Dynamic displacements of structures shows general behavior of structures. Generally, It is used to estimate structure condition and trustworthy physical quantity directly. Especially, measuring vertical displacement which is affected by moving load is very important part to find or identify a problem of bridge in advance. However directly measuring vertical displacement of the bridge is difficult because of test conditions and restriction of measuring equipment. In this study, Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is used to suggest estimation method of bridge displacement to overcome constrain conditions, restriction and so on. Horizontal strain and vertical displacement which are measured by appling random moving load on the bridge are applied for learning and verification of ANN. Measured horizontal strain is used to learn ANN to estimate vertical displacement of the bridge. Numerical analysis is used to acquire learning data for axis strain and vertical displacement for applying ANN. Moving load scenario which is made by vehicle type and vehicle distance time using Pearson Type III distribution is applied to analysis modeling to reflect real traffic situation. Estimated vertical displacement in respect of horizontal strain according to learning result using ANN is compared with vertical displacement of experiment and it presents vertical displacement of experiment well.

We investigate the effect of soil-structure interaction (SSI) on the response of LNG storage tanks to vertical seismic excitation depending on the type of foundation. An LNG storage tank with a diameter of 71 m on a clay layer with a thickness of 30 m upon bedrock, was selected as an example. The nonlinear behavior of the soil was considered in an equivalent linear method. Four types of foundation were considered, including shallow, piled raft, and pile foundations (surface and floating types). In addition, the effect of soil compaction within the group pile on the seismic response of the tank was investigated. KIESSI-3D, an analysis package in the frequency domain, was used to study the SSI and the stress in the outer tank was calculated. Based on an analysis of the numerical results, we arrived at three main conclusions: (1) for a shallow foundation, the vertical stress in the outer tank is less than the fixed base response due to the SSI effect; (2) for foundations supported by piles, the vertical stress can be greater than the fixed base stress due to the increase in the vertical impedance due to the piles and the decrease in radiation damping; and (3) soil compaction had a miniscule impact on the seismic response of the outer tank.
Many oocytes fail to fertilize and cleave in vitro and many embryos transferred back to uterus fail to implant or maintain implantation. Chromosomal abnormalities in the male and female gametes may contribute to this loss. The higher incidence of meiotic chromosomal abnormalities bas been found in oocytes than in sperm. The wide range of incidence of chromosomal abnormalities in unfertilized oocytes has been reported in human IVF program (26-63%). However, factors affecting chromosomal abnormalities are not well understood. The present study has been conducted to investigate effects of the method for ovarian hyperstimulation, women's age, and the number of oocytes retrieved per patients on the incidence of numerical chromosomal abnormalities. Five hundred eighty four unfertilized metaphase II oocytes were subjected to chromosomal analysis. Included unfertilized oocytes were from 220 patients (mean $age=32.7{\pm}3.0$) and three hundred thirty oocytes were legible for analysis. Two hundred fourty five oocytes out of 330 (73.3%) were normal, while 38 (11.5%) were hyperploidy, 35 (10.6%) were hypoploidy, and 12 (3.6%) were diploidy. Significant difference in chromosomal abnormalities was not found between two patient groups stimulated by follicular stimulating hormone/human menopausal gonadotrophin (FSH/HMG) (25.9%) and gonadotrophin-releasing hormone agonist/follicular stimulating hormone/human menopausal gonadotrophin (GnRHa/FSH/HMG) (28%). There was a tendency of increasing chromosomal abnormalities in unfertilized oocytes from older patients (<30 yrs: 20.3%, 30-34yrs: 26.9%, >34 yrs: 35.3%). The number of oocytes retrieved per patient had no effect the incidence of chromosomal abnormalities (1-5: 31. 4%, 6-10: 29.8%, 11-15: 28.6%, > 15: 16.5%). These results from the present study suggest that the chromosomal abnormalities observed in the unfertilized oocytes has not affected by the stimulation methods, patient's age, and the number of oocytes retrieved per patients.

The Incheon Bridge, which was opened to the traffic in October 2009, is an 18.4 km long sea-crossing bridge connecting the Incheon International Airport with the expressway networks around the Seoul metropolitan area by way of Songdo District of Incheon City. This bridge is an integration of several special featured bridges and the major part of the bridge consists of cable-stayed spans. This marine cable-stayed bridge has a main span of 800 m wide to cross the vessel navigation channel in and out of the Incheon Port. In waterways where ship collision is anticipated, bridges shall be designed to resist ship impact forces, and/or, adequately protected by ship impact protection (SIP) systems. For the Incheon Bridge, large diameter circular dolphins as SIP were made at 44 locations of the both side of the main span around the piers of the cable-stayed bridge span. This world's largest dolphin-type SIP system protects the bridge against the collision with 100,000 DWT tanker navigating the channel with speed of 10 knots. Diameter of the dolphin is up to 25 m. Vessel collision risk was assessed by probability based analysis with AASHTO Method-II. The annual frequency of bridge collapse through the risk analysis for 71,370 cases of the impact scenario was less than $0.5{\times}10^{-4}$ and satisfies design requirements. The dolphin is the circular sheet pile structure filled with crushed rock and closed at the top with a robust concrete cap. The structural design was performed with numerical analyses of which constitutional model was verified by the physical model experiment using the geo-centrifugal testing equipment. 3D non-linear finite element models were used to analyze the structural response and energy-dissipating capability of dolphins which were deeply embedded in the seabed. The dolphin structure secures external stability and internal stability for ordinary loads such as wave and current pressure. Considering failure mechanism, stability assessment was performed for the strength limit state and service limit state of the dolphins. The friction angle of the crushed stone as a filling material was reduced to $38^{\circ}$ considering the possibility of contracting behavior as the impact.
In this study, the coastal urban flood prediction and warning system based on HEC-RAS and SWMM were investigated to evaluate a watershed of On-Cheon stream in Busan which has characteristics of costal area cased by flooding of coastal urban areas. The basis of this study is a selection of various geological data from the numerical map that is a watershed of On-Cheon stream and computation of hydrologic GIS data. Thiessen method was used for analyzing of rainfall on the On-Cheon stream and 6th regression equation, which is Huff's Type II was time-distribution of rainfall. To evaluate the deployment of flood prediction and warning system, risk depth was used on the 3 selected areas. To find the threshold runoff for hydraulic analysis of stream, HEC-RAS was used and flood depth and threshold runoff was considered with the effect of tidal water level. To estimate urban flash flood trigger rainfall, PCSWMM 2002 was introduced for hydrologic analysis. Consequently, not only were the criteria of coastal urban flood prediction and warning system decided on the watershed of On-Cheon stream, but also the deployment flow charts of flood prediction and warning system and operation system was evaluated. This study indicates the criteria of flood prediction and warning system on the coastal areas and modeling methods with application of ArcView GIS, HEC-RAS and SWMM on the basin. For the future, flood prediction and warning system should be considered and developed to various basin cases to reduce natural flood disasters in coastal urban area.

This study numerically investigates the characteristics of chemical reactions and thermal deformation in a steam reformer. These phenomena are significantly affected by the high-temperature burner gas and the process gas conditions. Because the high temperature of the burner gas ranges from 800 to 1000 K, the reformer tubes undergo substantial thermal deformation, eventually resulting in structural failure. Thus, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of the reaction and thermal deformation under the operating conditions to evaluate the reformer tubes for sustainable, stable operation. Extensive numerical simulations were carried out using commercial CFD code (ANSYS FLUENT/MECHANICA Ver. 13.0) while considering three-dimensional turbulent flows and combined heat transfer including conduction, convection, and radiation. Structural analysis considering conjugated heat transfer between solid tubes and fluid flows was conducted using the Fluid-Solid Interaction (FSI) method. The results show that when the injection temperature of the process gas and burner gas decreased, the hydrogen production rate decreased significantly, and thermal deformation decreased by at least 15 to 20%.

When excavating a small cross-section tunnel in a fault fracture zone using the shield TBM method, there is a high possibility of excessive convergence and collapse. Appropriate ground reinforcement is required to minimize construction cost loss and trouble due to a fault fracture zone. In this study, the optimal reinforcement area was suggested and the surrounding ground behavior was investigated through numerical analysis using MIDAS GTS NX (Ver. 280). For the parameters, the width of the fault fracture zone, the existence of fault gouge, and the groundwater level and depth of cover were applied. As a result, when there is not fault gouge, the convergence and ground settlement are satisfied the standard when applying ground reinforcement by up to 0.5D. And, due to the high permeability coefficient, it is judged that it is necessary to apply 0.5D reinforcement. There is a fault gouge, it was possible to secure stability when applying ground reinforcement between the entire fault fracture zone from the top of the tunnel to 0.5D. And, because the groundwater discharge occurred within the standard value due to the fault gouge, reinforcement was unnecessary.

As the construction of trans infrastructure using the underground tunnel have been rapidly increased, various nearby excavation of existed underground facility including subway structure has been occurred in urban tunnelling. The concern and worry relating to the safety and stability of the existed facility by nearby excavation is becoming the key issues in urban tunnelling. In this study, it was conducted for existed the subway station structure at Seoul subway line which was closely located in the new Dongbuk urban metro railway to determine the behavior characteristics of station structure according to adjacent tunnel construction. Also, it was reviewed the evaluation of the safety zone and excavation method for subway structure. And after a review of damage evaluation, track irregularities and structural calculation by using a numerical analysis, stability of the subway structure according to nearby tunnel excavation was evaluated to be secured. This study is expected to be applied as useful reference in advance if you need to review the effects of existed structure according to nearby construction in complex urban tunnelling.
