  • 지능망은 소비자 또는 가입자의 다양한 욕구를 신속하고도 효과적으로 제공하며 동시에 새로운 서비스에 대한 수요가 있을 경우에 이에 쉽게 대처할 수 있는 차세대 통신맏이다. 가입자의 수가 증가하고 서비스의 질적요구가 높아짐에 따라서 시스템을 확장하여야 하는데, 여기에는 시스템의 특성에 따라서 여러 가지 대안이 존재한다. 이 논문에서는 두가지 가능성 있는 대안에 대하여 시뮬레이션 기법을 통하여 분석하고 이에 대한 선택 기준을 제시한다.

광 부호 분할 다중접속 네트워크를 위한 파장/시간 2차원 코드의 새로운 부호기/복호기 (New Encoder/Decoder with Wavelength/Time 2-D Codes for Optical CDMA Network)

  • We propose a new encoder/decoders based on an tune able wavelength converter(TWC) and an arrayed waveguide grating(AWG) router for large capacity optical CDMA networks. The proposed encoder/decoder treats codewords of wavelength/time 2-D code simultaneously using the dynamic code allocation property of the TWC and the cyclic property of the AWG router, and multiple subscribers can share the encoder/decoder in networks. Feasibility of the structure of the proposed encoder/decoder for dynamic code allocation is tested through simulations using two wavelength/time 2-D codes, which are the generalized multi-wavelength prime code(GMWPC) and the generalized multi-wavelength Reed-Solomon code(GMWRSC). Test results show that the proposed encoder/decoder can increase the channel efficiency not only by increasing the number of simultaneous users without any multiple-access interference but by using a relatively short length CDMA codes.

  • In this paper, we have developed a technology-service relationship model which describes the diffusion process of a group of services and relevant technologies, and have applied the developed model to the prediction of the number of subscribers to the next generation mobile service. The technology-service relationship model developed in this paper incorporates the developing process of relevant technologies, a supply-side factor, into the diffusion process of specific services, while many diffusion models and multi-generation diffusion models in previous researches are mainly reflect the demand-side factors. So, the proposed model could effectively applied to the telecommunication services where the developing of the relevant technologies are very essential to the service penetration. In our application, the proposed model provides a competitive substitution between the next generation mobile service and the traditional mobile service.

  • HAPS(High Altitude Platform Station) which is defined as a station located on an object at an altitude of 20 to 50 km and at a specified, nominal, fixed point relative to the earth is promising technology capable of providing broadband multimedia services. In this study, economical aspects of HAPS service are analyzed by estimating the revenue and costs incurred by the service. To evaluate the profitability of HAPS service, the number of subscribers is estimated and then the net present value (NPV), payback period, and the rate of return on investment (ROI) are calculated under various scenarios

  • There is a controversy on Internet pricing, flat-rate vs. usage-based. This study gives a comparative analysis between flat-rate and two-part tariff which is realistic alternative of usage-based pricing. In a basic economic model, two-part tariff based on ISP's cost structure satisfies allocative efficiency and relatively expand the number of subscribers. But the characteristics of Internet service like consumers' uncertainty on cost, measurement cost of traffic and network externality induce increase of cost or decrease of marginal utility. The analysis shows that small impact of these can make flat-rate more efficient.

  • Since 1990s, despite the emergence of innovative telecommunication services in accordance with technological changes, only few services have attained satisfactory number of subscribers, and create revenues. As with other products or services, the possibility for the success of new telecommunication services is low, thus a systematic business strategy by businesses is required to achieve market success with broadband wireless Internet. For the current broadband wireless Internet to successfully enter the early market with an early growth, a customer oriented market strategy and service provisioning strategy is inevitable. In this study based on the market survey of individuals and business customers, the customer demand and related needs of broadband wireless Internet have been analyzed in depth. Then with the analysis and establishment of the killer applications and market segmentation, market development strategy is proposed.

유튜브 뷰티 채널의 선호도와 이미지에 미치는 영향 요인 (The Factors Affecting Preference and Image of YouTube Beauty Channels)

  • Purpose This study aims to empirically analyze which factors affect image and preference of YouTube beauty channels. Some practical and academic implications are presented through empirical research. Design/methodology/approach For this purpose, the six affecting factors were suggested on the basis of previous studies. We proposed image quality, user attitude, empirical value, economics, and awareness as independent variables and channel image and channel preference as dependent variables in order to investigate the causal relationships among the research variables. We surveyed 311 users who had experience in using YouTube Beauty channel and analyzed the data by using a statistical package. Findings This study showed that the channel image has a partial mediating effect between the affecting variables and the channel preference. The results provided some insights and information to increase the number of subscribers and site views. Several suggestions were carefully made.

  • International Roaming is a kind of telecommunication service that enables subscribers use the same mobile number when they go abroad and access other service provider's network. International roaming call is made through three network parts-home (original service provider) network, intermediate network, and local (overseas service provider) network. It is not possible to monitor every section of whole roaming service network because service providers do not provide their network management information to other service providers. The limitation causes harsh problem when a service anomaly arises and operators have to confirm the reason of failure. To solve this problem, we propose a scheme that deduces roaming service status of each overseas service provider using internal network management information. SK telecom implemented a international roaming service management system based on the scheme using performance measurement of signaling points, roaming service nodes, and charging data from existing network management systems.

A Reliable Group Key Management Scheme for Broadcast Encryption

  • A major challenge achieving scalable access control for a large number of subscribers in a public broadcast is to distribute key update messages reliably to all stateless receivers. However, in a public broadcast, the rekeying messages can be dropped or compromised during transmission over an insecure broadcast channel, or transmitted to receivers while they were off-line. In this study, we propose a novel group key management scheme. It features a mechanism to allow legitimate receivers to recover the current group key, even if they lose key update messages for long-term sessions. The scheme uses short hint messages and member computation. Performance analysis shows that the proposed scheme has the advantages of scalability and efficient rekeying compared to previous reliable group key distribution schemes. The proposed key management scheme targets a conditional access system in a media broadcast in which there is no feedback channel from receivers to the broadcasting station.
