A Development and Application of Vision System for the Serial Number Recognition of Nuclear Fuel Tube (핵연료봉 번호인식 시각시스템 개발 및 적용)

  • A development and application of machine vision system is introduced, which automatically recognizes the serial number of nuclear fuel tube. For the recognition, a indirect back light illuminating system is designed and a pattern matching algorithm based on neural network is applied. The various operation and management functions are also developed, on a PC under windows OS, for easy operation and data management, respectively. By the successful application of the vision system the productivity of the nuclear fuel tube recognition process is highly improved.

  • The transformer is expected to be an essential component of resistive type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) for both the increase of voltage ratings in SFCL and the simultaneous quench due to different critical current between HTSC elements. However, for the design to prevent the saturation of iron core and the effective fault current limitation, the analysis for operation of SFCL with consideration for the magnetization characteristics are required. In this paper, the fault current limiting characteristics related with the magnetization ones were investigated through the variation of the ratio of the number of turns in the 1st and the 2nd windings. The proper design condition with variation of the number of turns to make the effective fault current limiting operation could be determined.

  • The ability of understanding the number and number systems, grasping the properties of number systems, and manipulating number systems is the foundation to understand algebra. It is useful to deepen students' mathematical understanding of number systems and operations. The authentic understanding of numbers and operations can make it possible for the students to manipulate algebraic symbols, to represent relationship among sets of numbers, and to use variables to investigate the properties of sets of numbers. The high school students need to understand the number systems from more abstract perspective. The purpose of this study is to study on understanding and application ability of eleventh graders of basic properties of operations with real numbers.

  • Since the KTX was in operation in 2004, a number of researches on increasing the train speed have been conducted. Currently, the Honam High-speed train system is designed for the operation velocity of 350km/h. The societal demand expects higher operation speed, whereas the existing construction method and design specification are questioned in the KTX operation in the velocity over 350 km/h. In this study, a full-scale model test was conducted to obtain the preliminary data that is necessary to understand deformation characteristics of the reinforced road bed and the subgrade layers. In the full-scale model test, direct arrival seismic tests, crosshole seimic test, in-situ bender element test and sensing bar test were employed to measure the stiffness and deformation of the trackbed. The systematic analysis on the different set of measurements enhances the understanding of the behavior of the trackbed.

  • This paper aims to suggest the feasibility of rapid operation scheme generated in preceding study, 'A study on development of operation planning for rapid service in urban railway(An introduction)' through application it to present subway lines in Seoul Metropolitan area. In case of line 3, without the Passing Track 'Turning train outstrip mode' is the best policy. In case of line 4, with the Passing Trank 'Passing track mode' may be the best way to realize the this scheme. Also, there is feasibility in the line 1, line 5, line 6, line 7 but there is no possibility it is applied to line 2 and line 8. In conclusion, this paper is intend to suggest the possibility of rapid operation in urban railway by presenting real operation scheme, time tables and amount of power usage and the number of composing trains and variety of demand,

  • A master-slave system for tele-operation had been developed and tested for several decades. In this paper the master robot is composed of several wires and provides position information of the handle which is driven by a operator within the master robot work space. A PC is used for the command calculation for a slave robot. This paper deals with the relation between the number of strings and D.O.F of the master robot, control method of the slave robot during the operation and the monitoring method over the working area by the computer graphics simulation. The D.O.F of the master robot can be modified by adding or subtracting some strings. The controller of the slave robot uses the advanced PD control method to keep the performance against varying working load.

  • Anti-islanding scheme of grid-connected inverter is a key function of standards compliance, since unintentional islanding results in safety hazards, reliability, and many other issues. Therefore, many anti-islanding schemes have been researched, however, most of them have problems, which deteriorate performance of islanding detection under parallel-operation. Therefore, this paper proves the reason of problems and proposes a new anti-islanding scheme that has precise islanding detection under parallel-operation in single-phase and three-phase system. Finally, both simulation and experimental result validate the proposed scheme.

  • We may consider the inducement of demand to public transportation as a solution to relieve traffic congestion and pollution. Subway has merits as moving on schedule, transporting more people than bus. But subway is required a vast investment in the early stage of construction has a huge debt. So it runs into red figures, and on this account, services of subway are falling more and more. Development of subway's operation cost function is useful to understand structure of subway's operation and catch the relations of operation cost and actual results. In addition, we can present the policy that is a helpful to the operation as development of operation cost function. But there are short of studies about operation cost deal with a subway comparison with local train. Because local train has many lines and data, on the other hand, subway has one to four lines and less data. Most of previous studies sought the operation cost function of Seoul. So this study aimed to develop and apply the operation cost function of Seoul, Incheon, Busan and Daegu area using full allocation method. In this study, we considered the number of passengers, track-km, train-km, revenue as actual results. By appling the operation cost function, we compared the average cost of each city and confirmed the existence of economies of scale about the number of passengers, train-km.

High Efficiency Inverter System by Partial Resonant Method (부분공진기법에 의한 고효율 인버터 시스템)

  • A large number of soft switching topologies included a resonant circuit have been proposed. But these circuits increase number of switch in circuit and complicate sequence of switching operation. In this paper, the authors propose power conversion system, DC-AC inverter of high efficiency and high power factor with soft switching mode by partial resonant method. The switching devices in a proposed circuits are operated with soft switching by the partial resonant method, that is, PRS2MPC (Partial Resonant Soft Switching Mode Power Converter). The result is that the switching loss is very low and the efficiency of system is high. And the snubber condenser used in partial resonant circuit makes charging energy regenerated at input power source for resonant operation.

Variable Priority Number Control of SPMS for Leisure Ship

  • The power system of leisure ship has a character of stand-alone type, so it continuously checks the usable power. Especially, the leisure ship using renewable energy needs to adjust the power consumption of loads according to the usable power. Also, the important loads of leisure ship are different by operation mode. However, current power management system doesnot consider such character. This paper studied load management system of the SPMS(Smart Power Management System) and composed using the smart plug. The SPMS controls the loads depending on a user's pattern and character through variable priority number control. This control algorithm was verified through simulation of assumed user and situation using LabVIEW.
