Purpose - This research examined the relationship between business orientation and business goals and satisfaction of Korean-American business owners. Research design/data/methodology - Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) and Small Business Orientation (SBO) were the theoretical constructs underlying this research. The responses from 200 Korean-American business owners who participated in the 2005 National Minority Business Owner Surveys were used for data analysis. Results - Noneconomic business goal was positively related to business owners' SBO tendency, and those with a SBO tendency had the higher business satisfaction than those with EO. Conclusions - The findings suggest that policy makers should develop business assistance programs that correspond with owners' business orientation.

North American ginseng (Panax quinquefolius L.) was analysed for total ginsenosides and ten major ginsenosides (R$_{0}$ , Rb$_1$, Rb$_2$, Rc, Rd, Re, Rf, Rg$_1$, pseudoginsenoside F$_{11}$ and gypenoside XVII), and variations in ginsenoside content with age of plant (over a four-year-period) and geographic location (Ontario versus British Columbia) were investigated. In the roots the total ginsenoside content increased with age up to 58-100 mgㆍg$^{-1}$ dry weights in the fourth year, but in leaves it remained constant over time. Roots and leaves, moreover, had different proportions of individual ginsenosides. The most abundant ginsenosides were Rb$_1$ (56mgㆍg$^{-1}$ for Ontario; 37mgㆍg$^{-1}$ for British Columbia) and Re (21mgㆍg$^{-1}$ for Ontario; 15 mgㆍg$^{-1}$ for British Columbia) in roots, and Rd (28-38 mgㆍg$^{-1}$ ), Re (20-25 mgㆍg$^{-1}$ ), and Rb$_2$ (13-19 mgㆍg$^{-1}$ ) in leaves. Measurable quantities of Rf were found in leaves (0.4-1.8 mgㆍg$^{-1}$ ) but not in roots or stems. Our results show that ginsenoside profiles in general, and Rf in particular, could be used for chemical fingerprinting to distinguish the different parts of the ginseng plant, and that ginseng leaves could be valuable sources of the ginsenosides Rd, Re, and Rb$_2$.

북미시장에서 국내 가전업체의 브랜드 및 제품 인지도는 크게 성장했으며 북미 소비자들에게 국내 기업의 제품은 성능이 좋고 혁신적인 기술 제품으로 인식되고 있다. 또한 에너지 절약을 원하는 소비자가 늘어나면서 국내 가전제품의 에너지 절약 측면에서 우수성이 부각됨에 따라 시장점유율이 상승으로 이어지고 있다. 최근 스마트폰과 모바일 기기 시장 확대 및 스마트 그리드 기술 발달의 영향으로 가전제품 시장에도 스마트 열풍이 거세게 몰아치고 있는데, 국내 기업들은 가전제품과 결합된 다양한 부가기능을 통해 소비자 편의를 제공함에 따라 지속적인 제품개발을 하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 지속적인 경쟁우위를 유지하기 위한 방안으로 국내 A사의 북미시장에서의 TV 판매 데이터를 이용하여 북미시장에서의 가전제품 판매예측을 위한 융합모델을 개발하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 인공신경망과 유전자 알고리즘 기반의 융합모델을 이용한 가전제품의 판매예측을 수행하기로 한다. 추가적으로 본 연구에서는 제안한 융합모델과 기존의 예측모델과의 비교분석을 통해 제안한 융합모델의 우수성을 입증하기로 한다.

This study aimed to determine whether there was a difference in measurements between North American Symptomatic Carotid Endarterectomy Trial(NASCET) and Warfarin-Aspirin Symptomatic Intracranial Disease(WASID) methods that measure the middle cerebral artery stenosis in Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) and Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA). It involved 24 patients who had completed both DSA and MRA among patients with Middle Cerebral Artery (MCA) stenosis. The Middle Cerebral Artery (MCA) stenosis was measured using the NASCET and WASID methods through a retrospective analysis. For the NASCET and WASID methods, they performed measurements on normal blood vessels located far from and close to the stenosis, respectively. The mean value and standard deviation of the Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) measured by the NASCET method were 59.23% and 13.27%. On the other hand, those of the Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) measured by the WASID method were 66.64% and 12.47%. And, the mean value and standard deviation of the Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) measured by the NASCET method were 49.82% and 12.06%. By contrast, those of the Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) measured by the WASID method were 56.63% and 10.67%. All the p-values obtained by the Pearson and Spearman correlation tests in the Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) and the Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) were <0.01. In conclusion, this study suggests that both the NASCET and WASID methods to measure the middle cerebral artery stenosis in the Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) and the Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) can be used if they are not used interchangeably.

The island of S.Miguel is part of the Azores, an archipelago composed of nine volcanic islands situated between the european and american continents. Aligned in a general WNW -ESE trend, between latitudes 37$^{\circ}$ -40$^{\circ}$ N and longitude 25$^{\circ}$ -31$^{\circ}$ W, the Azores islands show a very special geotectonic setting, at the triple junction of the Eurasian, African and North American lithospheric plates.(omitted)

In some American English dialects, the vowels /a:/ or /c:/ have been replaced with /a:/, as in caught /ka:t/ dog /da:g/ that were pronounced in /kc:t/, and /dc:g/ previously. General American does not have /a:/ in its vowel system. But in East American and Western Pensylvania, cot and caught are homophones, /ka:t/, and similarly with other pairs such as collar vs. caller, stock vs. stalk, don vs. down, knotty vs. naughty. The use of /a/ or /c/ is quite unstable, and is a well-known diagnostic for distinguishing the northern speech area of the United States from the midland and southern area. For an increasing number of Americans, however, entirely lack the opposition between /a/ and /c/, merging to /a/, referring to 'both' of the vowels of lot. This paper investigates the use of /b:/ in American dialects and its relationship with /a:/, /c:/ in AE, and with short /a/ in RP. Examining the isoglosses of the use of /a:/ in various databases of the phonological atlas of North America, this paper discusses the use, position, and trend of merger to /a:/ from the vowels of /a:/ and /c:/ in Current American English.

The genus Gyraulus is a large group of very small species of freshwater snails belonging to the pulmonate family Planorbidae. One of the these group the subgenus Torquis, contains some of the smaller members of the genus, and includes one of the most widespread and common of the North American freshwater snails, G. The purpose of this study is to examine the recent various developments of men's fashion by analyzing how exotic tastes were presented in men's modern fashion from 2001 to 2010. For this purpose, a researcher reviewed relevant studies to identify the styles of exotic tastes that were reflected in men's modern fashion specifically in Chinese, Japanese, Indian, East Asian, American, North American and South American styles. Findings of this study is summarized as follows. Main examples of men's modern fashion were found in Chinese-style apparel such as the magwae, queue, coolie hat and the Mao jacket. The Kimono and the samurai robe, both of which best represent Japanese apparel and the Japanese traditional patterns also had an influence on men's modern fashion Indian style clothing such as dhoti, veshti and lungi which cover the lower body, vajani as loose trousers, kurta of full-over tunic form and turban also had an effect as well. The men's modern fashion is also impacted by Middle Asian styles that includes the thobe, sirwaal, futah, which is sort of a skirt that is long enough to cover the calf and whose front parts overlap each other, turbans and the hempen hood which is fixed with the agal. Exotic elements such as animal skins, body painting, tattoos and head dresses found in African styles can also be found in men's modern fashion. Parts of North American style influence come from the applications of Indians' costume and head dress. The surveyed men's modern fashion of the South America style was represented by the applications of natives' costume and Andean tunic, loincloth and shawl. In all of the exotic styles found in men's modern fashion, historicity, eclecticism, aestheticism and nature-orientation are implied. They are the source of inspirations that promote changes and diversity in men's modern fashion.
