1매의 편광판으로 구성된 반사형 Fringe-field Switching Mode의 전기 광학 특성 (Electro-optic Characteristics of the fringe-field Driven-reflective Liquid Crystal Display with One Polarizer)

  • We have performed computer simulation to obtain electro-optic chracteristics of reflective liquid crystal display (LCD) using wide viewing angle LC mode, fringe field switching(FFS). Unlike other reflective LCD modes, in the FFS mode, the LC director in plance so an application to reflective display consisted of polarizer, LC layer and reflector is possible. when an incident light is 550mm, the optimal cell retardation value is 0.1365${\mu}$m and the efficiency of reflectivity is high over 90% with very little wavelength dispersion. Further, we have studied a new reflective display with polarizer, optical compensation film with half plate, LC plus reflector. The display with optimized cell parameters shows high contrast ratio (CR) over 130 with high light efficiency over 90% at normal direction and the CR greater than 5 exists over 60$^{\circ}$ of polar angle in all directions.

A Study on Optimum Value of Design Parameter of Multivariate EWMA and CUSUM charts for Monitoring Dispersion Matrix

  • Properties and comparison of multivariate CUSUM and EWMA charts for monitoring Σ of multivariate normal N(${\underline{\mu}}$, Σ) process has considered. Comparison of the performances of the considered charts, the numerical values are obtained by simulation with 10,000 iteration in terms of ATS, ANSS and ANSW. We found that EWMA chart with small values of smoothing constant more effectively detects the process changes than with large smoothing constant. And we also found that CUSUM chart with small value of reference value is more effectively detecting the process change than with large reference value. If a process engineer has interest in detecting small amount of shift rather than large shift, he/she can be recommended to use small smoothing constant in EWMA chart and small reference value in CUSUM chart.

정상족과 편평족의 Arch Support 사용에 따른 운동역학적 분석 (Biomechanical Analysis of Arch Support Devices on Normal and Low Arch)

  • The purpose of this study was to the kinetic variables effects from the use of arch support inserts on low-arched people. We selected 10 people for the research and separated them into 2 groups, 5 people for the normal arched group and 5 people for the low arched group. Each group wear shoes which have a 3 step convertible arch support (level 0, level 2, level 5) and we measured their foot pressure and 3D motion analysis data. As a result, we found that the mean pressure at the heel of the low arched group was decreased when using the arch supports. The arch support induced the correct grounding area for the foot and dispersion of foot pressure. 3D motion analysis found that as the height of the arch support was increased, the movement of the Y-axis(inversion-eversion) was increased to relieve the shock to the heel. The arch support insert limited the range of motion(ROM) of the Z-axis(abduction-adduction) of the low arched person's ankle joint and prevented ankle injury caused by the excessive eversion when walking. Low arched people are seen to be easily tired due to the ineffective shock absorption of the knees and abnormal walking motion. In order to improve the problems, a 3 step convertible arch support(level 5) insert would improve the low-arched people's walking ability. In other words, the low arched people should be expected to walk as well as normal arched people when they wear shoes with the arch support insert.

Does conventional freezing affect sperm DNA fragmentation?

  • Objective: Sperm cryopreservation has been widely used in assisted reproductive technology, as it offers great potential for the treatment of some types of male infertility. However, cryopreservation may result in changes in membrane lipid composition and acrosome status, as well as reductions in sperm motility and viability. This study aimed to evaluate sperm DNA fragmentation damage caused by conventional freezing using the sperm chromatin dispersion test. Methods: In total, 120 fresh human semen samples were frozen by conventional methods, using SpermFreeze Solution as a cryoprotectant. Routine semen analysis and a Halosperm test (using the Halosperm kit) were performed on each sample before freezing and after thawing. Semen parameters and sperm DNA fragmentation were compared between these groups. Results: There was a significant decrease in sperm progressive motility, viability, and normal morphology after conventional freezing (32.78%, 79.58%, and 3.87% vs. 16%, 55.99%, and 2.55%, respectively). The sperm head, midpiece, and tail defect rate increased slightly after freezing. Furthermore, the DNA fragmentation index (DFI) was significantly higher after thawing than before freezing (19.21% prior to freezing vs. 22.23% after thawing). Significant increases in the DFI after cryopreservation were observed in samples with both normal and abnormal motility and morphology, as well as in those with normal viability. Conclusion: Conventional freezing seems to damage some sperm parameters, in particular causing a reduction in sperm DNA integrity.

허혈에 의한 다채널 심자도의 ST-T 변화 (ST-T Changes of Multichannel Magnetocardiographic Pattern in Myocardial Ischemia)

  • Myocardial ischemia causes heterogeneity of ventricular repolarization and sometimes produces changes of the ST-T wave in ECG. Therefore, morphological changes of ST-T waveform in ECG have a clinical significance in diagnosing myocardial ischemia. In this study, we investigated the ST-T changes caused by myocardial ischemia in magnetocardiography (MCG). We analyzed MCG patterns of biphasic T, ST segment deviations from baseline, main current angle of $T_{peak}$ and $T_{peak}$ dispersion in 300 CAD patients without ST elevation in ECG, 122 symptomatic patients and 48 normal subjects. MCGs were recorded by multichannel SQUID system in a magnetically shielded room. As results, we found that appearances of the abnormality were strongly correlated with the severity of myocardial ischemia. Also we found that the percentage of the patients showing MCG changes were higher than those in ECG. These results show that morphological changes of ST-T waveform in MCG can be used as a marker of myocardial ischemia.

섬유강화 복합재료의 동탄성계수 및 감쇠특성의 이론적 예측 (Theoretical Prediction of Dynamic Elastic Moduli and Attenuation Properties of Fiber-Reinforced Composite Materials)

  • 본 연구에서는 일방향(unidirectional)으로 섬유가 강화된 복합재료를 다루게 되는데, 섬유는 직경이 모두 같고, 길이가 무한이며, 서로 평행하게 정렬되엉 불규칙 하게 분포된 원형실린더로 가정한다. 먼저, 임의의 한 기준 산란체에 의한 압축파 및 SV파의 산란을 수식화하고, 기준 산란체에 대한 나머지 산란체들이 존재할 확률을 이용하여 산란계수의 통계적 기대값을 구함으로써 그 매질내에 존재하는 파동의 전파 특성을 지배하는 분산 관계식의 해를 수치적으로 구함으로써 매질의 평균전파속도, 유 효 동탄성계수 및 감쇠계수를 주파수와 체적비의 함수로 구한다. 또 구하여진 동탄 성계수의 저주파 극한값과 정적하중상태에서 구한 Hashin-Rosen의 값들과 비교하여 봄 으로써 본 연구의 타당성을 입증한다.

  • 국내 원전에 적용하기 위한 기체 방사성 물질 확산 및 피폭 평가 코드를 개발하였다. 정상 운전에 의한 기체 방사성 물질 확산 및 피폭 평가에는 직선 궤도 가우시안 플륨 모델을 사용하는 XOQDOQ 코드가 사용되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 이 코드의 단점인 발전소 주변 지역에서의 바람 방향의 영향, 산악 지형에 대한 모델, 습식 침적에 대한 개선이 이루어졌다. 현실적인 유효 고도 보정 및 산악 침투 모델을 통해서 산악 지형에 대한 고려를 하였고, 바람 발생 확률 빈도를 수정하여 직선 궤도 모델을 보완하였다. 개발된 코드는 영광원전의 주민피폭선량평가를 위해 채택되었으며, 산악이 많은 우리 나라 다른 발전소에 적용하기 위해 산악지형 입력변경을 통하여 적절히 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

측정 불확도 표현 지침서(GUM)와 Monte-Carlo Simulation에 의한 불확도 전파 결과의 비교 연구 (A Study on Comparison between the Propagation of Uncertainty by GUM and Monte-Carlo Simulation)

  • 측정 및 화학분석에 많이 이용되는 한 점 교정식에 대하여 측정 불확도 표기 지침서(GUM)의 근사법과 Monte-Carlo Simulation에 의해 계산된 각각의 확장불확도를 비교하였다. 이 비교를 위하여 임의의 자료들을 여러 농도 수준에서 정규 분포 또는 t-분포로 가정하여 계산하였다. 나눗셈에 의한 한 점 교정식의 비선형성과 t-분포 형식을 함에 따른 입력량의 과도한 퍼짐으로 인하여, 경우에 따라서, GUM의 근사법으로 계산된 불확도가 Monte-Carlo Simulation에 의해 계산된 것보다 약 50% 이상의 오류가 있다는 것이 확인되었다. 그러나, 검출 하한을 계산하기 위하여 한 점 교정식을 이용하는 경우, 반응량의 표준불확도가 상대적으로 매우 크고 비선형성에 희한 계산 오류가 상대적으로 무시되므로 근사식에 따른 계산 오류가 발생하지 않았다.

초음파 무화 및 사이클론을 이용한 분산된 나노입자의 여과법 (Filtration of dispersed nanoparticles using cyclone and ultrasonic atomization)

  • 기존의 나노입자 현탁액의 분산과정의 한계를 극복하여 단분산된 나노입자만으로 이루어진 현탁액을 얻기 위하여, 기존의 방법으로 전분산 처리된 현탁액을 다시 초음파 무화효과 및 사이클론을 이용하여 여과하는 방법을 제안하였다. 평균직경 250 nm인 Al2O3나노입자로 0.5 wt%인 현탁액을 만들어 초음파세척기 및 호모지나이저를 이용하여 각각 전처리 분산된 현탁액에 대하여 제안한 여과법을 적용하였다. 그 결과 초음파세척기로 전처리 분산한 경우 단분산된 나노입자 현탁액으로 여과하기 위해서는 종속 연결된 사이클론이 3개가 요구되는 반면, 호모저나이저로 전처리 분산된 현탁액의 경우는 2개의 사이클론으로도 가능함을 확인 하였다. 초음파 무화기 주파수의 조정과 사이클론의 설계 변경에 의해 다양한 종류의 나노입자에 대한 여과가 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

스트레치 센서를 이용한 스쿼트 시 발목 가동범위 체크 센서 양말에 관하여 -20대 후반 남성을 중심으로- (Using a Stretch Sensor About of Squat Ankle Range of Motion Check Socks -Focusing on Men in Their Late 20s-)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop socks to check the range of ankle movement during squats for men in their late 20s. Sensors of 6, 8, and 12 mm were selected, and each sample was impregnated 1 to 3 times. It was prepared using a CNT dispersion, and the GF value was measured using UTM. Among them, the sample with 2 impregnation showed the best GF value. As a result of applying each sample to the socks, the 12 mm sensor was wider than the area of the Achilles tendon, resulting in noise, and the 8 mm sensor was higher than the tensile strength of the socks, resulting in a decrease in the graph. Therefore, testing was performed using a 6 mm sensor. In order to determine the effectiveness of the sensor, the normal operating range was checked through squats, and significant changes were confirmed when the operating range was checked again through squats by performing operations that can increase the operating range through Gastrocnemius, Soleus stretching, and low lunge. Using the results of this study, it is expected that the average value of the ankle movement range of the user is checked prevent injury, to be provided as basic data for the production of shoe products and the promotion of physical health.
