균형성과표(BSC)를 활용한 탄약 비군사화 시설의 핵심성과지표 개발 (Development of Key Performance Indicators in Ammunition Demilitarization Facility Using the Balanced Score Card)

  • Ammunition Demilitarization facility (ADF) should be set up the feasible goals and continue to operate, taking into account non-profit characteristics. However, due to the lack of performance measurement methods in ADF, which are essential to national policy at a significant cost each year, the reliability of the evaluation results can be insufficient. In this paper, the Balanced Score Card (BSC) method was applied that could be evaluated to reflect the financial and non-financial features. The relevant literature research and army regulations reflected the results of various interviews of the expert group. The extraction of success performance area in ADF was confirmed using the BSC method and the Decision Variable (DV) candidate was created to use regression for selecting the DV. Additionally, the key performance indicator was presented by verification the feasibility of content by conducting the survey of experts. The implications of this paper are as follows. First, the proposed BSC model was found to be suitable for practical use in ADF reflecting the non-profit characteristics. Second, accurate evaluation of ADF can contribute to long-term development of ADF. Finally, it can be applied to the management process of the other military sector, so it can be expected to play a role in providing basic data and spreading it to other areas.

실시간 얼굴인식 시스템을 위한 새로운 LINF 알고리즘의 제안 (The Suggestion of LINF Algorithm for a Real-time Face Recognition System)

  • 본 논문에서는 실시간 얼굴인식 시스템을 위한 새로운 LINF(Linear Independent Non-negative Factorization) 알고리즘을 제안한다. 시스템은 크게 얼굴추출 부분과 얼굴인식 부분으로 구성 되어 있으며, 얼굴추출 부분에는 차영상, 눈과 입의 영역 검출 그리고 정규화 방법을 사용하였고, 얼굴인식 부분에는 추출된 얼굴 후보 영역 영상에 LINF 를 적용하였다. 기존의 PCA(Principal Component Analysis)만을 사용한 인식시스템은 낮은 인식률을 보였으며, LDA(Linear Discriminants Analysis)만을 사용한 인식시스템에서는 학습데이터의 수에 비하여 영상의 화소 개수가 많은 경우 LDA를 그대로 적용하기 곤란하였다. 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위하여, 본 논문에서 제안하는 시스템은 기존의 고유얼굴과 달리 비음수 값을 갖는 행렬로 차원을 축소하여 LDA를 적용하였다. 제안한 시스템의 성능을 평가하기 위하여 자체 제작한 DAUface 데이터베이스와 영국 Cambridge 에 있는 AT&T 연구소에서 제공하는 ORL 데이터베이스를 가지고 실험을 하였다. 실험 결과, 제안된 방법이 PCA 방법과 LDA 방법, ICA(Independent Component Analysis) 방법, 그리고 PLMA(PCA-based LDA mixture algorithm)에 비해 인식률이 상당히 우수함을 알 수 있었다.

  • 현재의 음성인식 기술은 하드웨어 기술의 발전과 더불어 여러 분야에 응용되고 있지만 음성구동 휠체어와 같은 고신뢰성이 요구되는 응용분야에서는 아직도 그 성능이 불충분하다. 실 환경에서 음성을 통해 안전하게 휠체어를 제어하기 위해서는 도로의 소음 등과 같은 주변잡음의 영향에 의한 음성인식 성능의 저하, 사용자의 기침소리나 숨소리 등과 같은 비음성 입력시의 오동작, 명령어의 불명확한 발성과 일반인과는 다른 발성 속도 및 발성 주파수 등을 고려한 인식시스템이 필요하다. 이를 위하여 본 논문에서는 비음성 입력시의 오동작을 방지하기 위해 인식기의 전처리 단에서 YIN 기본주파수 추출방법을 적용한 후 프레임 별 신뢰도에 기반한 고정도로 음성/비음성을 판별할 수 있는 방법을 제안하고, 불명확한발성에 대한 인식 성능 향상을 위해 화자 적응화 방법 및 개인적인 발성 변이를 표현할 수 있는 다중 후보 단어사전을 구성하여 인식성능 제고를 도모하였다. 잡음이 포함된 실 환경하에서 수집한 데이터를 대상으로 인식실험을 수행한 결과 기존의 켑스트럼 방법에서는 오류 없이 비음성을 찾아내는 재현율은 62%로 나타났으나 본 논문에서 제안한 YIN방법에 기반을 둔 신뢰도 측정방법에서는 95.1%를 나타나 우수한 성능을 나타내었다. 실 환경에서 수집된 2211개의 불명확한 발성을 대상으로 인식실험을 수행한 결과 2000상태 16 혼합수 HMnet 모델을 이용한 경우 인식률이 78.6%로 나타났으나 MAP적응화 방법 및 다중 후보 인식사전을 적용한 결과 99.5%의 인식 성능을 나타내어 제안한 방법의 유효성을 확인할 수 있었다.

질적, 양적 접근방법에 의한 연화문, 사문의 분류원형 추출 (Prototype Extraction for the Categorization of Lotus and Crane Patterns Using Qualitative and Quantitative Approaches)

  • The purpose of this study was to extract protypes from features and concrete images of Lotus and Crane patterns. A qualitative and a quantitative methods were used. Qualitative informations were obtained from depth Interviews for pattern selection and feature extraction, and quantitative informations from a quail-experiment for pattern caregorization. The subjects were 20 female design students and non-design, students in Teajon. The results were summerized into a similarity metrix which was interpreted by the cluster analysis and the multi-dimensional scling(MDS). The patterns for the study were grouped into 8 clusters. Four dimensions were chosen for the MDS. The location of each pattern was visualized in a 2-dimesional spaces and the location of each cluster in a 3-dimensional spaces. The first dimension, "Lotus" vs "Crane" refired to pattern types, and the second dimension, "realistic" vs "transformable", the transformability. The third dimension, "simple" vs "complex", refired to the degree of simplification, and the forth dimension, "continuous" vs "discontinuous", continuity. The results of the Quantitative analysis could be summerized into 3-level prototype hiararchy In the first level, the patterns were devided clearly into two groups. Lotus and Crane by pattern types. In the second levelk, each group was devided into twosubgroups by continuity. In the third, each subgroup was divided into four subgroups by transformability and the degree of simplification. Four protypes, the final targets of the present study, were extracted from the third level. The are Stylized, Realistic, Decorative, Abstract types.d from the third level. The are Stylized, Realistic, Decorative, Abstract types.

마이크로이멀젼을 이용한 유기오염물로 오염된 지반의 정화 (Remediation of Contaminated Soil with Organic Contaminants using Microemulsion)

  • In the soil washing process, the contaminants are usually removed by abrasion from soil particles using mechanical energy and water However, organic contaminants with low water solubility like polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) are remained on soil particles. Previous studies have shown that surfactant possessing amphipathic activity enhances the solubility of organic materials. For this reason solutions with surfactants have been used to improve removal of organic contaminants on soil washing process. But, in this manner, many problems were found like complete loss of surfactants and additional contamination by surfactant. The remediation method using microemulsion has been introduced to overcome these disadvantages. In this case, surfactants are recycled by phase separation of microemulsion after remediation. In microemulsion process, the surfactant will be recycled by phase separation of the microemulsion into a surfactant-rich aqueous phase and an oil phase after extraction. That is why remediation concept applying microemulsion as washing media has been Introduced. Suitable microemulsion have to be used in order to have the chance of refilling the soil after decontamination and to avoid any risk due to toxicity. The purpose of this research is to evaluate effect of microemulsion to remediation of contaminated soil. We performed test with various organic contaminants like Pyrene and BTEX, also compared efficiency of remediation in microemulsion process with soil washing

Texture Analysis and Classification Using Wavelet Extension and Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix for Defect Detection in Small Dimension Images

  • Texture analysis is an important role for automatic visual insfection. This paper presents an application of wavelet extension and Gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) for detection of defect encountered in textured images. Texture characteristic in low quality images is not to easy task to perform caused by noise, low frequency and small dimension. In order to solve this problem, we have developed a procedure called wavelet image extension. Wavelet extension procedure is used to determine the frequency bands carrying the most information about the texture by decomposing images into multiple frequency bands and to form an image approximation with higher resolution. Thus, wavelet extension procedure offers the ability to robust feature extraction in images. Then the features are extracted from the co-occurrence matrices computed from the sub-bands which performed by partitioning the texture image into sub-window. In the detection part, Mahalanobis distance classifier is used to decide whether the test image is defective or non defective.

Optimal Fuzzy Sliding-Mode Control for Microcontroller-based Microfluidic Manipulation in Biochip System

  • In biometric and biomedical applications, a special transporting mechanism must be designed for the ${\mu}$TAS (micro total analysis system) to move samples and reagents through the microchannels that connect the unit procedure components in the system. An important issue for this miniaturization and integration is microfluid management technique, i.e., microfluid transportation, metering, and mixing. In view of this, this study presents an optimal fuzzy sliding-mode control (OFSMC) design based on the 8051 microprocessor and implementation of a complete microfluidic manipulated system implementation of biochip system with a pneumatic pumping actuator, a feedback-signal photodiodes and flowmeter. The new microfluid management technique successfully improved the efficiency of molecular biology reaction by increasing the velocity of the target nucleic acid molecules, which increases the effective collision into the probe molecules as the target molecules flow back and forth. Therefore, this hybridization chip was able to increase hybridization signal 6-fold and reduce non-specific target-probe binding and background noises within 30 minutes, as compared to conventional hybridization methods, which may take from 4 hours to overnight. In addition, the new technique was also used in DNA extraction. When serum existed in the fluid, the extraction efficiency of immobilized beads with solution flowing back and forth was 88-fold higher than that of free-beads.

중공사모듈에 의한 수용액으로부터 유기오염물의 제거 (Removal of Organic Pollutants from Aqueous Solution by Hollow Fiber Module)

  • 본 연구는 폐수로부터 몇 가지의 유기오염물(Phenol, 2-Chlorophenol, Nitrobenzene)을 비분산 용매추출법으로 동시 제거하는 실험이다. 몇 가지의 용매(MIBK, IPAc, Hexane)에 대하여 분배계수를 구하였고, 용매와 폐수사이의 향류와 병류 흐름에 의한 추출 실험을 하였다. 수용액상의 유량이 증가함에 따라 용매와의 접촉시간이 짧아져 제거율이 떨어지고, 용매의 유량이 증가함에 따라 제거율이 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 병류보다는 향류에서 유기오염물의 제거율이 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 유기오염물만이 아닌 다른 중금속 오염물 둥도 처리할 수 있는 산업용 폐수처리장치의 개발을 위한 기초자료로 쓰일 수 있다.

Posterior maxillary segmental osteotomy for management of insufficient intermaxillary vertical space and intermolar width discrepancy: a case report

  • Backgrounds: Insufficient intermaxillary space is caused by non-restoration following tooth extraction in the past, and this involves eruption of the opposing teeth and changes of the arch structure. Such cases are difficult just by a simple prosthetic approach, and diversified treatment plans should be established. Among these, posterior maxillary segmental osteotomy (PMSO) is an efficient treatment option than extraction of opposing teeth as it surgically repositions multiple erupted teeth and alveolar bone. PMSO can preserve the natural teeth; therefore, it is being regarded as a treatment method which can improve insufficient intermaxillary space significantly. Case presentation: In this case report, the first patient received PMSO in order to place an implant in the mandibular edentulous space after decreased vertical dimension is restored, and the second patient received PMSO along with orthodontic treatment to obtain the intermaxillary space and balance the interarch molar width. Conclusion: PMSO is the treatment of choice when occlusion is compromised in the presence of decreased vertical dimension or arch length discrepancy.

효율성과 정확도 향상을 위한 MR 영상에서의 뇌 외곽선 추출 기법 개발 (Development of an Extraction Method of Cortical Surfaces from MR Images for Improvement in Efficiency and Accuracy)

  • In order to study cortical properties in human, it is necessary to obtain an accurate and explicit representation of the cortical surface in individual subjects. Among many approaches, surface-based method that reconstructs a 3-D model from contour lines on cross-section images is widely used. In general, however, medical brain imaging has some problems such as the complexity of the images, non-linear gain artifacts and so on. Due these limitations, therefore, extracting anatomical structures from imaging data is very a complicated and time-consuming task. In this paper, we present an improved method for extracting contour lines of cortical surface from magnetic resonance images that simplifies procedures of a conventional method. The conventional method obtains contour lines through thinning and chain code process. On the other hand, the proposed method can extract contour lines from comparison between boundary data and labeling image without supplementary processes. The usefulness of the proposed method has been verified using brain image.
