The effect of the addition of a polyvinylchloride (PVC) non-solvent to a PVC-tetrahydrofuran (THF) solution on the surface properties of the PVC thin film was analyzed. The non-solvents used were composed of alcohol-based and non-alcoholic ones. Surface morphologies of PVC thin films according to the addition of the non-solvent were compared. In addition, the hydrophobic properties relying on the surface characteristics were compared. The micro-bubbles generated in the preparation of PVC-THF solution affected the surface morphology of the thin film. In order to implement the normal surface physical properties of the coating thin film at the relatively high concentration of PVC-THF solution, the selection of appropriate drying method was required. When an alcohol-based non-solvent was added, a PVC thin film having a granular porous surface was obtained and exhibited super hydrophobic properties. The volume ratio of the PVC-THF solution to the non-solvent affects the surface shape of the coating thin film. The larger the amount of non-solvent was added, the more advantageous it was to form a super hydrophobic PVC thin film.

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) intravenous fluid bags and tubes that contain DEHP (diethylhexyl phthalate) as a plasticizer have several associated disadvantages for intravenous injections. We investigated the drug absorption behaviors on the inner surface of an infusion tube that consisted of commercialized PVC/PU (polyurethane). We developed a non-PVC (polyolefin) tube in order to improve the efficacy of this drug administration method. We prepared four types of non-PVC (polyolefin) infusion tubes using a polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), syndiotactic 1,2-polybutadiene (PB), and styrene-ethylene (SE) copolymer elastomers were prepared using a single screw extruder. The four types of manufactured non-PVC (polyolefin) infusion tubes had good mechanical properties that were equivalent to PVC tube properties. The four types of prepared non-PVC (polyolefin) infusion tubes also prohibited drug absorption when compared to the commercialized PVC and PU tubes. Therefore, based on the results of this study, prepared non-PVC (polyolefin) tubes are good candidates for infusion because they prevent drug absorption and the release of DEHP.

Liquid PVC, which is used widely as fiber coating, has brilliant non-luster effect, but it decreases flexibility of coated fiber surface. We used liquid silicone rubber in elastomer series as a coating material to alleviate this problem. We have conducted the former liquid PVC processing and used pressure of roller and preliminary hardening of processing. In this experiment, We measured 70 degree of hardness, 10.3 MPa of tensile strength and 200fs of tensile elongation of Liquid PVC-coated plastic fiber. We measured 40 degree of hardness, 5.1 MPa of tensile strength and 460% of tensile elongation of Liquid silicone PVC-coated plastic fiber. Therefore, Without the second process, Liquid silicone rubber coating increased non-luster effect and flexibility of plastic fiber surface more than Liquid PVC coating.

A triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) is a device that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy, and has been considered as a substitute for continuous power supply due to its high performance, simple structure and eco-friendliness. Recently, it is important to develop a TENG using a non-toxic material in order to use it as a power source for wearable, attachable, and body-embeddable electronics. Here, we developed a human friendly TENG using polyvinyl chloride (PVC) gel containing acetyl tributyl citrate (ATBC), a non-toxic plasticizer. PVC gels were fabricated using various ratios of PVC and ATBC, and optimized by investigating dielectric properties, surface potential, output performance, and durability. The PVC gel based TENG generates output signals of 73 V and 4.3 μA, i.e., a 5-fold enhancement in the output power compared to pristine PVC-based TENG. In addition, the PVC gel can be stretched over 500% of strain. This study is expected to be helpful in the future development of non-toxic wearable TENG.
Automotive sub-mat carpet for convenience and comfort of floor administration is additional supplemented floor mat. Sub Mat Backing of the current vehicle's materials reclaimed rubber, PVC, etc. are used, but secondary rubber and PVC Backing have bad sound absorption. Also rubber is heavy too. Contact surfaces between PET staple fiber, PET non-woven, PVC backing and car's floor carpet was measured the coefficient of friction for each sub-mat's non-slip evaluation. A surface of PET non-woven sub-mat has the highest coefficient of friction. Each of sample was observed by optical microscope the contact surfaces before and after. Contact surfaces of PET staple fiber sub-mat was changed increasingly to non-woven. This fact is shown that the sub-mat would be tangled between its contact surface and top of the floor carpet. It is expected to be highly non-slip. In case of PET non-woven sub-mat had not different for contact surfaces between before and after. And PVC backing was shown lower non-slip than other samples. The result of optical microscope and coefficient of friction is seems to be related.
A study has been made on the preparation of liquid resin of non-solvent and non-discoloration type for replacement of the soft PVC at room temperature. A new synthetic process was developed by structure-control design of polyurethane synthesis using pre-polymer and polyols as curing agent. The optimum recipe was made according to macro-glycols, molecular weight and reaction conditions, and the final products indicated that the mechanical properties such as tensile strength, tear strength and flexibility was very excellent than PVC products. Also, viscosity, hardness and color operations of the final products can be controlled by this system. And yellowing property by UV and NOx gas was improved from the various additive experiment.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate flame retardant performance, thermal stability and toxicity of combustion gases for some commercial wallpapers. ID evaluate flame retardant performance 45 degree combustion experiment method was used and thermal stability was evaluated using DSC and TGA apparatus (OSC-50/Shimadzu, TGA2050/TA Instruments Inc) . Concentrations of CO, $CO_2$, HCN and HCI were measured with (GASTEC/Japan, MSA400 Gas Monitor/Infitron Inc) and toxicity indices using NIST N-Gas Model were applied to evaluate the toxicity of combustion gases. The evaluation produced the following results : First, paper cork and PVC wallpaper treated with flame retardants were found to be suitable for flame retardant performance standards. Second, paper, cork and PVC wallpaper non-treated with flame retardants were shown to be relatively more hazardous because they had greater calorific values and a faster decomposition time than the flame retardant treated wallpapers. Third, the toxicity indices of non-treated wallpapers were found to be higher than those of treated wallpapers, and the toxicity index of PVC wallpapers was higher than those of paper and cork wallpapers.

This paper presents an approach to detect premature ventricular contractions(PVC) using the neural network with weighted fuzzy membership functions(NEWFM). NEWFM classifies normal and PVC beats by the trained weighted fuzzy membership functions using wavelet transformed coefficients extracted from the MIT-BIH PVC database. The two most important coefficients are selected by the non-overlap area distribution measurement method to minimize the classification rules that show PVC classification rate of 99.90%. By Presenting locations of the extracted two coefficients based on the R wave location, it is shown that PVC can be detected using only information of the two portions.
Polyvinylchloride (PVC) thin films having a microporous structure could be prepared by using the solubility difference in solvents. PVC thin film with a water contact angle of $150^{\circ}$ or more was obtained from the PVC solution consisting of the mixture of tetrahydrofuran as a solvent and propanol as a non-solvent. In the drying process of dip-coated PVC film, the increase of drying temperature reduced the tendency of roughened surface, which led the decrease of surface hydrophobicity. As the addition of propanol in the solution with 1 wt% PVC increased, the uniformity of surface roughness was improved. In the case of oxygen plasma treatments, even though the surface structure of PVC thin film was not notably changed, the surface property of the film was changed from the super-hydrophobicity to hydrophilicity as a function of the plasma exposing time.
