창업자 특성과 소기업 사업성과 간 관계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Relationship Between Entrepreneur Characteristics and the Performance of Small Firms)

  • 본 연구는 창업자의 배경적 특성(창업자의 학력, 창업관련 강좌의 수강이나 상담 경험, 과거 창업 경험), 창업자의 심리적 특성(성취욕구, 위험감수성향, 모호함에 대한 인내력 수준, 통제위치), 창업자의 관리적 역량(창업자의 관리적 능력, 기업가적 능력, 기술적 기능적 능력만이 소기업의 재무적 성과에 정의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 창업자의 학력, 창업경험, 성취욕구, 위험감수성향, 통제위치, 창업자의 관리적 능력, 창업자의 기업가적 능력, 창업자의 제품서비스 혁신차별화 전략 성향, 마케팅 차별화 전략 성향, 비용우위 전략 성향은 소기업의 비재무적 성과에 정의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 본 연구는 균형성과지표와 6시그마 추진기업의 6시그마 프로젝트 평가시스템을 통합한 프로젝트 평가시스템의 대안을 제시하고 있다. 균형성과지표 차원의 재무, 고객, 내부 프로세스, 학습과 성장 4개의 관점에서 목표와 평가지표를 토대로 재무관점의 4개, 고객관점의 6개, 내부 프로세스 관점의 5개, 학습과 성장관점의 6개의 평가지표가 연구결과이다. 본 연구의 결과는 실무적으로 적용가능한 지표이며 향후 연구과제로는 특정기업에서 본 지표를 바탕으로 검증연구 및 전략적 체계도와 연계한 통합 시스템에 관한 연구이다.

Impacts of Corporate Social Responsibility and Green Marketing Strategy on Business Performance: The Moderating Role of Balanced Scorecard

  • On the underpinning theory of the Resource Based Theory, this research examines the impact of corporate social responsibility and green marketing strategy on business performance with the moderating role balanced scorecard. Corporate social responsibility concentrates on related to government, the environment, customers, and employees. Green marketing strategy concentrates on approaches in terms of green products, green prices, green places, and green promotion. Business performance is measured by groups of indicators financial, and non-financial. The moderating role balanced the scorecard at the financial, customer, process, learning, and growth level. Research results with survey data from 419 managers at different food enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City processed through the structural analysis method, showed that corporate social responsibility has the strongest positive impact on business performance, followed by the green marketing strategy as the second strong positive impact on the business performance and results also showed that the balanced scorecard moderating role increases the level of the strong positive impact of the above relationship. Besides, it also showed the difference in the demographic control variables. Based on the findings, some implications are drawn to help the managers of enterprises improve the moderating role balanced scorecard when implementing corporate social responsibility and green marketing strategies thereby contributing to increasing business performance.

Microfinance Institutions and Legal Status: An Overview of the Microfinance Sector in Bangladesh

  • Although the microfinance sector in Bangladesh is mainly driven by Non-Governmental-Organizations (NGOs), there are other types of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) that also provide financial services to the poor. Despite the criticism of microfinance programs, the current poverty situation in Bangladesh still requires such programs for consistently battling poverty. Hence, the aim of this paper is to profile the microfinance sector based on their legal status and investigate any possible differences (if any) between them in various aspects. After a thorough investigation of the sector, it was found that around 33 million of the clients are being served by the mainstream MFIs (NGO and Grameen Bank) while another 10-15 million clients are served by other types of MFIs (financial cooperatives, credit unions, various ministries etc.), accounting for the one-third of the total population in Bangladesh. While the mainstream MFIs basically works with poor, other categories of MFIs are concerned with relatively wealthy clients. Looking into the financial performance and social intermediation of the MFIs, the NGO-MFIs performed better than other types of MFIs in the sector.

스마트공장 도입의 효과에 영향을 주는 요인들 (Factors Influencing Impact of Smart Factory Adoption)

  • 본 연구는 스마트공장 도입의 효과와 관련 요인을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 도입기업과 비도입기업의 표본 데이터를 median-size-industry matching method로 각각 110개, 325개를 수집했다. 도입 전년부터 도입 후 4년도까지 재무제표 데이터(ROA 등)를 활용했는데 event study method에 따른 abnormal operating performance, annual abnormal changes를 구한 뒤 Wilcoxon signed-rank test와 t-test로 분석했다. ROA와 매출증가율은 도입 후 단기적인 효과가 나타났으나 장기적으로 이어지지는 않았다. 또한 도입효과에 인력비중, 연구개발 수준, 이전 재무 성과 세 가지 요인이 조절효과로 영향이 있는지 회귀분석을 한 결과 연구개발 수준과 이전 재무 성과의 조절효과를 확인했다. 도입 효과에 도입시기의 영향과 이와 관련된 요인으로 이전 재무 성과와 기업규모의 조절효과가 있는지 회귀분석을 한 결과 장기에 도입시기가 늦을수록 도입효과가 더 커졌고, 이전 재무 성과와 기업규모의 조절효과를 확인했다.

게임기업 CEO의 관련사업경험이 경영성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증적 연구 -사회적 자본의 조절효과를 중심으로- (The Empirical Study on Relationship Between Corporate Performance and Related Business Experience of Game Company's CEO : Moderating effect of Social Capital)

  • As the CEO`s of game companies should be ready for the rapid change of technical environment of game industry, highly skilled employees and the social capital become very important factors in doing game business. 2013 Korea Game White Paper shows that many game companies prefer employees with job experience. The social capital and network help game companies get industrial information easily. This study empirically examines the relationship among CEO`s related business experience, corporate performance and social capital based on 134 Korean game companies. CEO`s characteristics are measured by using demographic characteristics including age, amount of education, and prior job experience and psychological characteristics, but this study focuses on related business experience. The results of this study show some significant relationship between the related business experience of CEO and nonfinancial performance of the firm. Secondly, this study verifies the moderating effect of the social capital between the related business experience of CEO and non-financial performance of the firm. The results of the moderating effect of the social capital show that social capital increases the non-financial performance.

  • A good business performance measurement system is an effective tool io sustained growth in profits. Although interest in creating performance measurement models is widespread, a well-designed system is rare. To be successful in today's competitive environment, a performance measurement system should incorporate strategic success factors and contain financial and non-financial measuring index to carry out strategic management. In the 1990s, Kaplan & Norton introduced a concept called the Balanced Scorecard. The Balanced Scorecard supplements traditional financial measures with criteria that measured performance from three additional perspectives - those perspectives of customers, internal business processes, and learning and growth. This paper presents five measuring index criteria for each perspective. To calculate the relative priority for These measuring index, we investigate weights investigated by interviews with management consultant. Then, AHP method is employed for calculating priority weight. Our evaluation model may be referred to as the Balanced Analytic Hierarchical Performance Model(BAHPM) in the sense that the analytic hierarchical scheme, along with the AHP, is applied. The BAHPM is the first kind of analytical model to cover a wide variety of measures. In comparison with previous evaluation models, our model shows strengths in structural flexibility, ease of incorporating feedback, group evaluation capacity, participation promotion, sensitivity analysis, and computational simplicity. A prototype based on the BAHPM can be applied to various industry sectors.

Simultaneous Equations and Endogeneity in Corporate Finance: The Linkage between Institutional Ownership and Corporate Financial Performance

  • The objective of this research is to explore the inconclusive theoretical and empirical association between institutional ownership and firm performance in the context of emerging Pakistani economy. The data set consists of all the non-financial firms listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). Annual data set covers the period ranging from 2010 to 2015. However, the econometric analysis does not include those firms with incomplete data. Thus the final data set comprised of an unbalanced panel of sample of 276 firms with 1231 firms years observations. Data related to the institutional ownership and other variables taken for the study were extracted through the annual financial reports of the firms. The research used Tobin's Q as a proxy of market measure of firm performance and tested the endogenous relation with institutional ownership through OLS and 2SLS approach. The study also applied Durbin-Wu-Hausman test to determine the endogeneity before analyzing the 2SLS model. The Durbin-Wu-Hausman Test (DWH) conform the endogenous link between institutional ownership and performance and vice versa. The results derived from 2SLS also confirm a highly significant relationship and two way direct proportional relationships between the institutional investment and corporate performance in the studied companies.

Outcome and Antecedent of Organizational Effectiveness: Moderation Effect of Strategy

  • Purpose - This exploratory study analyzes the performance of the business from the HRM point of view. Analyzed the influence of HRM and organization effectiveness on business performance. Also moderating effect of the strategy is analyzed. Research design, data, and methodology - Two outcome variables are measured, non-financial performance and financial performance. Two organizational effectiveness variables are measured, job satisfaction and organizational commitment. And two HRM areas are measured, HRM practice and organizational culture. Finally, two strategies are measured as moderators, market strategy and product/service strategy. This study analyzed employees of 554 from the 7th HCCP. This study used SEM and MCFA. Result - The results of turnover intention, growth rate, and profit rate verified the influence of HRM and organizational effectiveness. Overall results showed a contrary effect of education & training system implement and participation on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Among organizational culture, innovation and relation positively affect job satisfaction and organizational commitment. However, antecedents influencing turnover intention, growth rate, and profit rate bear no resemblance. And the MCFA result shows that strategy's group differentiation analysis is meaningful in turnover intention not in financial performance. Conclusion - Based on this study result, management suggestions for turnover intention, growth rate, profit rate, and organizational effectiveness are made. Especially, due to the company's strategy.

기술혁신역량과 사회적 자본이 비재무성과에 미치는 영향 - 수도권 중소기업을 대상으로 - (The Impact of Technology Innovation Capacity and Social Capital on Non-Financial Performance - For small and medium-sized businesses in the metropolitan area -)

  • 본 연구는 수도권에 있는 중소기업을 대상으로 기업의 기술혁신역량과 사회적 자본이 기업의 비 재무적 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 기술혁신역량은 연구개발역량과 기술축적역량으로 정의하였고, 사회적 자본은 상호작용, 목표공유, 구성원 신뢰로 정의하였다. 표본 자료는 설문조사 방법을 이용하여 방문, 전화 통화, 전자메일, 팩스 등의 방법으로 진행하였다. 분석에 활용된 표본 자료는 223부였다. 분석결과, 기술혁신역량의 연구개발역량과 기술축적역량은 비 재무적 성과에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 변수로 분석되었고, 사회적 자본의 상호작용, 구성원 신뢰 요인도 비 재무적 성과에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 변수로 분석되었으나 목표공유는 비 재무적 성과에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 검증되었다. 분석 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 다음과 같은 추론을 할 수 있었다. 첫째, 중소기업들은 기술력이나 자본력이 취약함에도 불구하고 치열한 시장환경에서 살아남기 위하여 끊임없는 기술혁신 활동을 하고 있는 것으로 추론할 수 있었고, 둘째, 중소기업의 구성원들은 상호작용과 구성원들 간의 신뢰를 바탕으로 기업의 성과를 이루고자 많은 노력을 하고 있는 것으로 추론할 수 있었다. 그러나 구성원들은 기업이 추구하는 목표 공유에는 부정적인 측면이 있음을 알 수 있었다.
