비부착식 진동측정방법에 의한 공용중 교량의 진동사용성에 대한 실험적 평가 (An Experimental Evaluation on Vibration Serviceability of Existing Bridge by Non-contact Vibration Measurement Method)

  • 본 논문에서는 비부착식 진동측정기법에 의한 공용중 교량의 진동사용성을 평가하고자 레이저 진동측정장치를 이용하여 진동사용성 평가 실험을 하였으며, 그 결과를 가속도계 및 처짐계를 사용하여 얻은 결과와 비교 분석하였다. 레이저 진동측정장치의 측정에 대한 정확도는 실교량의 고유진동수를 측정하고, 이를 가속도계로 구한 값과 비교함으로서 검증하였다. 진동사용성 평가 실험 및 비교 분석 결과에 의하면, 측정속도의 수치미분을 통하여 가속도를 추정하고, 가속도 진폭에 대한 Reiher-Meister 진동사용성 평가기준을 이용함으로써 공용중 교량의 진동사용성을 평가할 수 있으며, 추정된 변위 진폭에 대한 경우 측정속도의 시간영역 수치적분 과정에서 발생된 오차로 인해 실제 측정된 변위 진폭에 대한 진동사용성 등급과는 다른 결과를 얻을 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

C-Hook 인식을 위한 RFID 시스템의 적용 가능성에 대한 연구 (A Study on Applicability of RFID System for C-Hook Identification)

  • C-Hook is a kind of conveyer system for transporting steel coil in POSCO. To detect the current position and the trajectory of steel coils in a plant, C-Hooks are tracked by an inspection system based on PLC. The inspection system detects transit of C-Hooks by monitoring a physical contact between steel bars on a C-Hook and the inspection sensors. However, this system is not reliable because of the abrasion, damage and aging. Moreover, the number of distinguishable C-Hooks is limited by the number of combination of steel bars on a C-Hook. It means that more steel bars should be installed for distinguishing the more C-Hooks. Therefore, the conventional system is difficult and expensive to maintain. To overcome these problems, we propose a C-Hook identification system that uses RFID which is a non-contact type identification system, and evaluate its performance and applicability from a new monitoring program that operates along with the conventional system in the real environment of POSCO.

Automated quality characterization of 3D printed bone scaffolds

  • Optimization of design is an important step in obtaining tissue engineering scaffolds with appropriate shapes and inner micro-structures. Different shapes and sizes of scaffolds are modeled using UGS NX 6.0 software with variable pore sizes. The quality issue we are concerned is the scaffold porosity, which is mainly caused by the fabrication inaccuracies. Bone scaffolds are usually characterized using a scanning electron microscope, but this study presents a new automated inspection and classification technique. Due to many numbers and size variations for the pores, the manual inspection of the fabricated scaffolds tends to be error-prone and costly. Manual inspection also raises the chance of contamination. Thus, non-contact, precise inspection is preferred. In this study, the critical dimensions are automatically measured by the vision camera. The measured data are analyzed to classify the quality characteristics. The automated inspection and classification techniques developed in this study are expected to improve the quality of the fabricated scaffolds and reduce the overall cost of manufacturing.

철도 레일의 결함 검출을 위한 비파괴탐상 기술 (Review of Non-Destructive Evaluation Technologies for Rail Inspection)

  • 철도 레일의 주기적인 탐상은 레일 결함으로 인해 발생할 수 있는 철도 중대사고를 미연에 방지할 수 있는, 철도 안전 유지의 중요한 요소 중 하나이다. 본 논문은 현재 철도 레일 탐상에 적용되고 있거나, 적용을 위해 연구 중인 비파괴탐상 기법들에 관해 기술하였다. 레일에 발생하는 결함 유형에 대해 우선 언급하였고, 레일 탐상에 가장 많이 적용되고 있는 압전형 탐촉자 기반의 초음파탐상 기술에 대해 정리하였다. 접촉식 초음파 레일 탐상 기술에 대한 대안으로서 연구 중이거나 시험 중인 비파괴탐상 기법들에 대해 기술하고, 각 기법 별로 레일의 표면 및 내부 결함 검출 가능 여부에 대해 살펴보았으며 여러 탐상 기법들에 대한 비교를 통해 향후 레일 탐상 기술 개발에 활용하고자 하였다.

  • This study proposes a non-contact inspective technology based robot vision system for Faulty Inspection of welding States and Parts Shape. The maine focus is real time implementation of the machining parts' automatic inspection by the robotic moving. For this purpose, the automatic test instrument inspects the precision components designator the vision system. pattern Recognition Technologies and Precision Components for vision inspection technology and precision machining of precision parts including the status and appearance distinguish between good and bad. To perform a realization of a real-time automation integration system for the precision parts of manufacturing process, it is designed a robot vision system for the integrated system controller and verified the reliability through experiments. The main contents of this paper, the robot vision technology for noncontact inspection of precision components and machinery parts is useful technology for FA.

  • NDI technique system using AC current is newly developed for inspection of defects. This technique is non-contact measurement system and can be applied for locating and sizing of surface defects in components. In this paper, the technique was applied for evaluating the location and size for 2-dimensional surface cracks and we had investigated the influence of frequency and lift-off. The results show that defects are able to detect with the variety of voltage, and the measuring voltage for the depth of defects are under the influence of the measuring frequency and the lift-off.

  • This paper shows a non-contact optical method to inspect micron scale parts which will be manufactured in micro-factory system. This inspection system should have some characteristics like a small size, flexibility, and high measuring speed. In the viewpoint of measuring capabilities, it also has resolution under micron scale with measuring range over millimeter scale. Two methods will be presented in this paper, one is Moire and the other is white-light scanning interferometry. Also some experimental results will be presented to show the possibilities of the proposed inspection system.

터널의 비접촉 이동식 상태점검 장비: 리뷰 (Non-contact mobile inspection system for tunnels: a review)

  • 본 논문의 목적은 국내외 터널 스캐닝 시스템들을 분석하여 비접촉 이동식 상태점검 장비 개발에 대한 시사점을 도출하기 위한 것이다. 국내외 터널 스캐닝 시스템은 레이저 스캔과 이미지 스캔의 두 가지 기술로 개발되고 있다. 레이저 스캐닝 장비는 포인트 클라우드로부터 터널 라이닝의 기하하적 특성을 재현하는데 장점이 있다. 이미지 스캐닝 장비는 컴퓨터 비전을 활용하여 터널 라이닝 표면의 미세한 균열, 누수 등 손상 검출이 용이하다. 터널 라이닝의 손상 검출을 위해서는 이미지 스캐닝 장비가 더 적합할 것으로 분석되었다. 향후 개발 예정인 카메라 기반의 터널 스캐닝 시스템은 조명, 저장장치, 전원 공급 장치 및 차량 주행 속도 동기화 제어 장치로 구성되어야 할 것이다.

CAD 모델 기반 비접촉 기상 측정에 관한 연구 (Non-contacting OMM (On Machine Measurement) based on CAD Model)

  • An industrial product is designed and fabricated, followed by the inspection process in order to check whether it is dimensionally tolerable or not. The machining process produces a part such as a mold or die, in which the three-dimensional coordinate might be measured by a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) for assessment of its dimension. It is not ignorable, however, that a CMM measurement requires a lot of operating time and cost, which has led to many studies on the OMM system. The OMM system can be categorized into contact and non-contact types, and each of which has its own strengths and weaknesses. Non-contacting types generally utilize structured lights, sounds or magnetic fields. Though they show rather poor performance in positional accuracy, the measuring speed is faster than the contacting probes. This paper presents the development of an OMM system based on a non-contacting laser displacement sensing apparatus and CAD model. The system is composed of software modules of center-aligning and measuring, which has been operated and verified on a NC machining center on a shop floor.

Detection of Subsurface Defects in Metal Materials Using Infrared Thermography; Image Processing and Finite Element Modeling

  • Infrared thermography is an emerging approach to non-contact, non-intrusive, and non-destructive inspection of various solid materials such as metals, composites, and semiconductors for industrial and research interests. In this study, data processing was applied to infrared thermography measurements to detect defects in metals that were widely used in industrial fields. When analyzing experimental data from infrared thermographic testing, raw images were often not appropriate. Thus, various data analysis methods were used at the pre-processing and processing levels in data processing programs for quantitative analysis of defect detection and characterization; these increased the infrared non-destructive testing capabilities since subtle defects signature became apparent. A 3D finite element simulation was performed to verify and analyze the data obtained from both the experiment and the image processing techniques.
