Miniature ultrasonic and tactile sensors on Si substrate have been proposed, fabricated and characterized to detect objects for a dexterous robot. The ultrasonic sensor consists of piezoelectric PZT thin film on a Pt/Ti/$SiO_2$ and/or Si diaphragm fabricated using a micromachining technique; the ultrasonic sensor detects the piezoelectric voltage as an ultrasonic wave. The sensitivity has been enhanced by improving the device structure, and the resonant frequency in the array sensor has been equalized. Position detection has been carried out by using a sensor array with high sensitivity and uniform resonant frequency. The tactile sensor consists of four or three warped cantilevers which have NiCr or $Si:B^+$ piezoresistive layer for stress detection. Normal and shear stresses can be estimated by calculation using resistance changes of the piezoresitive layers on the cantilevers. Gripping state has been identified by using the tactile sensor which is installed on finger of a robot hand, and friction of objects has been measured by slipping the sensor.

Budding yeast has dozens of prions, which are mutually dependent on each other for the de novo prion formation. In addition to the interactions among prions, transmissions of prions are strictly dependent on two chaperone systems: the Hsp104 and the Hsp70/Hsp40 (J-protein) systems, both of which cooperatively remodel the prion aggregates to ensure the multiplication of prion entities. Since it has been postulated that prions and the remodeling factors constitute complex networks in cells, a quantitative approach to describe the interactions in live cells would be required. Here, the researchers applied dual-color fluorescence cross-correlation spectroscopy to investigate the molecular network of interaction in single live cells. The findings demonstrate that yeast prions and remodeling factors constitute a network through heterogeneous protein-protein interactions.

Leukemia is the most common neoplastic disease of the white blood cells which is important as a pediatric malignancy. Oral manifestations occur frequently in leukemic patients and may present as initial evidence of the disease or its relapse. The symptoms include gingival enlargement and bleeding, oral ulceration, petechia, mucosal pallor, noma, trismus and oral infections. Oral lesions arise in both acute and chronic forms of all types of leukemia. These oral manifestations either may be the result of direct infiltration of leukemic cells (primary) or secondary to underlying thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, or impaired granulocyte function. Despite the fact that leukemia has long been known to be associated with oral lesions, the available literature on this topic consists mostly of case reports, without data summarizing the main oral changes for each type of leukemia. Therefore, the present review aimed at describing oral manifestations of all leukemia types and their dental management. This might be useful in early diagnosis, improving patient outcomes.

The diagnosis of the plasma in the facing targets sputtering system was performed in mixture gas of Ar 0.18-0.0 Pa, Xe 0.0-0.18 Pa and $O_2$ 0.02 Pa by using Langmiur's probe and the effect of plasma-damage to surface smoothness and magnetic characteristics of Ba ferrite films was clarified. The electron density $N_e$ and the electron temperature $T_e$ were evaluated at the center of the plasma and at the neighborhood of the anode ring. $T_e$ decreased and $N_e$ increased with increase of $P_{Xe}$ at the center of plasma. For the measurement at the neighborhood of the anode ring, $T_e$ was almost constant and $N_e$ took the minimum value at $P_{Xe}$ of 0.1 Pa, where Ba ferrite films with excellent c-axis orientation and magnetic characteristics were obtained. It was suggested that the restriction of the bombardment of recoiled particles as well as the suppress of plasma-damage were effective for obtaining good surface smoothness and excellent magnetic characteristics and it was useful for decreasing the crystallization temperature of Ba ferrite films.

The primary neuroendocrine carcinomas[NEC] of the lung are relatively rare. There are classified histologically into the following groups. 1] bronchial carcinoid, 2] well differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma[WDNC], 3] intermediate cell neuroendocrine carci-noma[ICNC], 4] small cell neuroendocrie carcinoma[SCNC]. The NE cells can be found throughout the mucosa of the bronchial tree by the electron microscopy. By the immunocytochemistry, Neuron-specific enolase[NSE], serotonin, born-csin, and calcitonin are found in normal solitary NE cells and neuroepithelial bodies. The immunohistochemistry has the advantage that it can be applied on routine pathology specimens. The NSE was localized in all of the NE granule bearing tumors but also present in 57 per cent of the non NE carcinomas. Together the combination of chromogranin A, bombesin and NSE should provide an exellent signature for tumor cells expressing NE features, such as carcinoids and other NE carcinomas. We have experienced two cases of primary pulmonary NEC in 59 and 29 years old men. The former was admitted due to exertional dyspnea and left chest pain, the latter, newly developed mass on chest X-ray. They were treated by Lt pneumonectomy with LN dissection and RLL resection with LN dissection The postoperative diagnoses were could be confirmed by NSE study as NEC which were SCNEC and INEC in subgroups. The postoperative courses were uneventful.

We have developed a cardiac cell model (Kyoto Model) for the sinoatrial node and ventricle, which is composed of a common set of kinetic equations of membrane ionic currents, Ca$\^$2+/dynamics of sarcoplasmic reticulum and contractile protein. To expand this model by including metabolic pathways, the intracellular ATP metabolism, which is pivotal in cardiac excitation - contraction coupling, was incorporated. ATP consumption by the sarcolemmal Na$\^$+/ pump and the Ca pump in the sarcoplasmic reticulum were calculated with stoichiometry of 3Na:2K:1ATP and 2Ca:1ATP, respectively. ATP consumption by contraction was estimated according to experimental data. Dependence of contraction on ATP and inorganic phosphate was modeled, based on data of skinned cardiac fiber. in production by mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation was modified from Korzeniewski '||'&'||' Zoladz (2001), and creatine kinase and adenylate kinase reactions were incorporated. ATP dependence of ATP-sensitive K channel and L type Ca channel were also included.

This study uses the human resource management (HRM) practice and ability, motivation, and opportunities (AMO) theory and corporate social and environmental responsibility, to explore the effects of environmental responsible human resource management practice (ER-HRM) on energy-intensive manufacturing's green technology innovation and organizational effectiveness. A self-completed questionnaire was administered to managers of energy-intensive manufacturing in the Lao PDR. The data was collected from 198 managers of energy-intensive manufacturing for analysis. We used structural equation modeling (SEM) by smart PLS 3.0 to test the hypotheses in this research. The findings have shown a strong direct and positive impact of the environmental ability, motivation, and opportunity of ER-HRM practice on green technology innovation and organizational effectiveness. The ability of ER-HRM practice has the highest influence on green technology innovation and organizational effectiveness. The findings also prove the partial mediation of green technology innovation links ER-HRM with organizational effectiveness. This research is expected to identify the influences of ER-HRM in energy-intensive manufacturing to achieve innovation and performance while reducing emissions.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the cariogenicity of vitamin supplements for children by the Caries Potentiality Index (CPI), pH drop capacity, proliferation rate of Streptococcus mutans. Four vitamin supplements were selected - Noma (NM), Cenovis Kids (CK), Animal Parade (AP), and Character Vitamin (CV). CPI value decreased in the order of AP, CV, CK, and NM. Initial values of all experimental groups showed acidity below pH 7.0. Analysis of the colony forming units of Streptococcus mutans showed that NM and CV resulted a higher proliferation rate (p < 0.05) than CK and AP (p < 0.05). Bacterial activity of the control group was lower than other groups when observed with a confocal laser scanning microscope. Considering the bacterial activity and acidity of vitamin supplements, it is necessary to pay close attention when children taken the vitamin supplements for their oral health.

This study was performed to assess the relationships between bone mineral density(BMD), anthropometric measurements, and maternal factors in postmenopausal women. The anthropometric measurements were taken by a trained practitioner, and the maternal factors of the 85 subjects in Chungnam were acquired by an interview questionaire. The BMDs of the lumbar $spines(L_2-L_4)$, femoral necks(FN), ward's triangles(WT), and trochanters(TR) were measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry(DEXA). The BMDs(T-score) for $L_2-L_4$, FN, and WT were 0.996 $g/cm^2$(-1.601), 0.697 $g/cm^2(-1.657)$, and 0.793 $g/cm^2(-1.512)$ respectively, which were assessed as osteopenia by the T-score ; TR was noma1 at 0.718 $g/cm^2(-0.675)$. The 85 subjects in Chungnam were divided into three groups according to their BMD measurements for $L_2-L_4$ and FN, assessed by the T-score. The percentages in the osteoporosis, osteopenia, and normal groups were 32.9%, 42.4, and 24.7%, respectively. The average age was significantly the highest in the osteoporosis group than in the other two osteopenia and normal group(p<0.001). The subjects' BMDs were positively correlated with weight, height, BMI, waist, WHR, OBR and hip circumference, and negatively correlated with the age, duration time after menopause, lactation, the age of last delivery, menarche age, and number of children. The average age at menopause was 48.8. The osteoporosis group's average age at menopause was lower than those of the other groups. However, the BMD of the lumbar spine positively correlated with duration time after menopause and the BMD of the femoral neck with lactation, last delivery, menarch age, number of children. Therefore, researches are needed to find out the effective way to minimize the effect of age and other physiological conditions on the decrease of bone mass density.

The forty patients with carcirLoma of the esophagus or cardia seen at National Medical Center between November 1983 and April 1994 underwent surgical exploration. The esophagogastrectomy was carried out in 29 of 40 patients, one case through right thoracotomy, the others through left thoracotomy. Two patients underwent colon bypass surgeries due to upper esophageal cancer Transhiatal esop agectomy was performed In one case. Feeding gastrostomy or feeding jejunostomy were performed in 8 patients due to the advanced stage or malnutrition. In this report, we evaluated the long-term results in the 28 patients who underwent esophagogastrectomy for palliation through the left thoracotomy. There were 25 men(89%) and 3 women(11 %), and the mean age was 58.65$\pm$7.15 years(range, 46 to 73 years). The most frequent preoperative symptoms included dysphagia (22), weight loss (15), chest pain (6), vomiting (1), and hoarsness (1). Twenty-three patients had sqamous cell cancers of mid-and lower esophagus and five adenocarcionomas of cardia. One patient died in the hospital within 30 days of the op- eration for a hospital mortality rate of ).7%, Cause of death was sepsis due to anastomotic leakage. There were five additional complications in five patients; acute respiratory distress syndrome (1), post-op- erative bleeding (1), diaphragmatic hernia (1), acute renal failure (1) and late raft stenosis (1). The one year, 1틴o years, and three years acturial survival rate were 75.6$\pm$9.5%, 43.2$\pm$ 11.6%, 21.6: 10.5$\circledcirc$ re- spectively. The average survival was 21.8 months. The data from this study suggest that esophagogastrectomy through the left thoracotomy can achieve resonable long-term palliation for carci- noma of the esophagus. The operation can be performed with a low operative mortality and few serious postoperative complications.
