  • In signal system such as MAGLEV, the transmission channel that has wireless transmission line between on-board and ground-site is susceptible to have interference and may introduce data error on transmission. In this paper, by applying inductive wireless and FSK(frequency shift keying) modulation using widely in railway signal system, we intend to analyze the data transmission characteristics. In this case, noise may have effect on transmission channel. Therefore transmission channel should be lessened the data error from random noise. Considering the transmission medium, the objective of this study is to analyze the transmission characteristics between on-board and ground-site and to obtain transmission performance.

  • Unit cabin means room, which is installed in the high value ship such as drill ship and FPSO, after pre-assembled. In order to develop the noise control design for a unit cabin, a variety of acoustic tests such as sound absorption, transmission, and radiated noise measurements were carried out by using the mock-up of living quarter. From the tests, it was found out that the combined noise level of a unit cabin could be dominated by the radiated noise from wall panel in low frequency range and the design guidelines for the noise control of unit cabin were fully established, such as the improvement of sound transmission loss between the cabin and corridor, and radiated cabin noise reduction.

  • 철도차량의 실내소음은 공기기인 소음과 구조기인 소음이 더해진 것이다. 본 논문에서는 개활지 주행중 실내소음을 지배한다고 알려져 있는 구조기인 소음에 대해 연구하였다. 구조기인 소음을 진동원, 전달경로 및 소음 발생부로 구분하여 실내소음을 줄이기 위한 방안에 대해 연구하였다.

  • The noise sources in ship and offshore structure have an influence on adjacent receiving area through a partition between noise sources and receiving area. The partition in ship is usually made of stiffened plate. Sound transmission loss (STL) of the partition at high frequency could be improved by additional installation of insulation or wall panel. At low frequency, however, it is very difficult and needs an increase of plate thickness which causes a considerable weight increase of ship. In this paper, we have investigated the effect of the bulkhead boundary condition. From measurement result, we found that the bulkhead boundary condition can affect a lot in STL, especially at low frequency range. Finally, we get the 5dB increase in STL through the modification of boundary condition.

  • This study includes noise automatic inspection system for washing machine auto-transmission one of modern home necessary. We effort to find and certificate sound noisesource by sound power and sound intensity, and apply to frequency analysis in vibration related sound noise. Still more we have been studying to data acquisition and programming for MS VisualBasic version 5.0. System component is below. 1) Pentium PC for data acquisition. 2) DSO for noise acquisition. 3) S/W for comparison and decision. 4) I/F Board for data communication. Wave form data through the DSO are converting to ASCII code data. The ASCII code through binary converting S/W are to be decision fitness or the badness comparison S/W. Finally, we will making noise monitoring system and automatic inspection system.

한국형 고속전철 차량소음 예측 및 부품 소음관리방안 (Noise Prediction of Korea High Speed Train (KHST) and Specification of Sub-components)

  • KITECH and ODS performed a study of internal and external noise prediction of the Korean high speed prototype test train(HSR 350X). The object of this study was 3 kinds of cars, trailer car(TT2), motorized car(TMI ) and power car(TPI) and the predicted noise was for the two different driving speeds in free field and tunnel conditions. Data of carbody design and noise sources were delivered from manufactures. Some of noise sources which were not available in the project team, were chosen by experiences of ODS. Internal noise level of each car was predicted for two cases i.e, at 300 km/h and 350 km/h. In addition sound transmission path and dominant noise sources were also investigated for each section of the car, which is circular shell typed part of whole carbody. In case of TT2, the dominating sound transmission path is the (floor in terms of structure-borne noise and air-borne noise. The main noise sources are structure-borne noise from the yaw-damper and air-borne noise from the wheel/rail contact, whereas the dominating sound transmission path of TMI are floor and sidewall below the window in terms of structure-borne noise. The main noise sources of TMI are structure-borne noise from motor/gear unit and the yaw-damper in the free field, and air-borne noise from the wheel/rail contact and structure-borne noise from motor/gear unit in the tunnel. Through the external noise prediction for the KHST test train formation, the noise form the wheel/rail contact is estimated as one of the major sources. In addition, the noise specification of sub-component was proposed for managing each sub-surpplier to reach the KHST noise requirement. The specification provide the sound power of machinery part and transmission loss of component of carbody structure. The predicted noise level in each case exceeded the required limit. Through this study, the noise characteristics of the test train were investigated by simulation, and then the actual test will be performed in near future. Both measured and calculated data will be compared and further work for noise reduction will be continued.

  • This paper presents the effect of air gap insertion on the results in measuring the transmission loss of sound barrier by using APAMAT. The measured results show that air gap insertion improves transmission loss as by two-room method or intensity method. The measured results are compared with the predicted transmission loss using MATLAB GUI program based on the transfer matrix method. Predicted results were found to be in reasonable agreement with measured results.

  • This study includes investigation on sound transmission phenomena through a structural panel including structural vibration and feedback control methodology to minimize the transmission. Focus is placed on finding the relation between vibration pattern and sound transmission, and on finding optimal sensor and actuator location. A simple analog feedback control circuit is designed and implemented to verify the approach.

  • In a wheel loader, the tail-pipe is installed at the exhaust tube of muffler for the reduction of exhaust noise and the cooling of engine room however, the cabin noise level can be largely increased due to the tail-pipe. In this paper, to grasp and reduce the cabin noise, a series of noise and vibration tests were carried out in addition to numerical simulations. As a result, the transmission path of exhaust noise toward the cabin was exactly identified and the improved shape of tail pipe, that can reduce the cabin noise, was derived through various numerical simulations and real tests.
