복합 스펙트럼 패턴의 진동 시험을 위한 가속도 응답 데이터 기반의 피로 손상도 계산 방법 (Damage Count Method Using Acceleration Response for Vibration Test Over Multi-spectral Loading Pattern)

  • Several damage counting methods can be applied for the fatigue issues of a ground vehicle system using strain data and acceleration data is partially used for a high cyclic loading case. For a vibration test, acceleration data is, however, more useful than strain one owing to the good nature of signal-to-random ratio at acceleration response. The test severity can be judged by the fatigue damage and the pseudo-damage from the acceleration response stated in ISO-16750-3 is one of sound solutions for the vibration test. The comparison of fatigue damages, derived from both acceleration and strain, are analyzed in this study to determine the best choice of fatigue damage over multi-spectral input pattern. Uniaxial excitation test was conducted for a notched simple specimen and response data, both acceleration and strain, are used for the comparison of fatigue damages.

발전기교체로 인한 축계의 비틀림 고유주파수 영향 및 측정결과 고찰 (Effects of Generator Retrofit on Torsional Natural Frequency of Turbine-generator Train and Study on Measurement Results)

  • Recently, turbine-generators have been replaced for the integrity reinforcement and the efficiency improvement, also, the blade's failures of LP turbines due to torsional vibration have been reported. Excessive torsional vibrations can result in failures of components. The severity of torsional oscillations and stress depends upon the separation margin between the excitation frequencies and torsional natural frequencies. Therefore it is needed to measure the torsional natural frequencies after replacement of the components to conform the separation margin of torsional natural frequencies. In this study torsional vibration measurements were performed after LP turbine and generator replacement and the torsional natural frequencies for the turbine-generator train were calculated to evaluate the effects of generator replacement on torsional natural frequencies of turbine-generator train. It is expected that these evaluation results will be used effectively to identify the root causes of torsional vibration problems.

크랙을 가진 탄성지지된 유체유동 외팔파이프의 동적 안정성 (Dynamic Stability of Elastically Restrained Cantilever Pipe Conveying Fluid with Crack)

  • The dynamic stability of elastically restrained cantilever pipe conveying fluid with crack is investigated in this paper. The pipe, which is fixed at one end, is assumed to rest on an intermediate spring support. Based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory, the equation of motion is derived by the energy expressions using extended Hamilton's Principle. The crack section is represented by a local flexibility matrix connecting two undamaged pipe segments. The influence of a crack severity and position, mass ratio and the velocity of fluid flow on the stability of a cantilever pipe by the numerical method are studied. Also, the critical flow velocity for the flutter and divergence due to variation in the support location and the stiffness of the spring support is presented. The stability maps of the pipe system are obtained as a function of mass ratios and effect of crack.

철도 진동에 대한 위해성 평가 모델 연구 (Study on Assessment Models for Analysis of the Adverse Effects of Railway Vibration on Residential Area)

  • This paper introduces what amount of railway vibration level observed from residential area. Five residential area located near the railway were selected to measure the vibration levels generated by the different types of Korean railway vehicles. Those 3-axis vibration measurements are applied to the frequency-dependent weighting functions recommended by ISO 2631-2, which are used to evaluate the 3-axis combined vibration levels such as peak levels, L 10 levels and root-mean-squared values. These evaluated results are shown to indicate the environmental vibration severity for the different residential area. In addition to those physical vibration measurements, the survey of subjective responses of residents was also carried out by distributing the questionnaire suggested by WHO. The questionnaire includes the subjective scales for assessing the annoyance and the sleep-disturbance caused by the environmental vibration. The statistical analysis results collected from 386 respondents are introduced. The highly annoyed population and the highly sleep-disturbed one are examined to identify the .elation between their subjective scale and their corresponding environmental vibration levels. These attempts are shown to lead to the salient model to relate the environmental vibration level and the subjective responses of Korean residents to annoyance and sleep-disturbance.

끝단질량과 크랙을 가진 유체유동 회전 외팔 파이프의 동적 안정성 (Dynamic Stability of Rotating Cantilever Pipe Conveying Fluid with Tip mass and Crack)

  • The stability of a rotating cantilever pipe conveying fluid with a crack and tip mass is investigated by the numerical method. That is, the effects of the rotating angular velocity, mass ratio, crack severity and tip mass on the critical flow velocity for flutter instability of system are studied. The equations of motion of rotating pipe are derived by using the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory and the extended Hamilton's principle. The crack section of pipe is represented by a local flexibility matrix connecting two undamaged pipe segments. Also, the crack is assumed to be in the first mode of fracture and always opened during the vibrations. When the tip mass and crack are constant, the critical flow velocity for flutter is proportional to the rotating angular velocity of pipe. In addition, the stability maps of the rotating pipe system as a rotating angular velocity and mass ratio ${\beta}$ are presented.

Connection stiffness reduction analysis in steel bridge via deep CNN and modal experimental data

  • This study devises a novel approach, namely quadruple 1D convolutional neural network, for detecting connection stiffness reduction in steel truss bridge structure using experimental and numerical modal data. The method is developed based on expertise in two domains: firstly, in Structural Health Monitoring, the mode shapes and its high-order derivatives, including second, third, and fourth derivatives, are accurate indicators in assessing damages. Secondly, in the Machine Learning literature, the deep convolutional neural networks are able to extract relevant features from input data, then perform classification tasks with high accuracy and reduced time complexity. The efficacy and effectiveness of the present method are supported through an extensive case study with the railway Nam O bridge. It delivers highly accurate results in assessing damage localization and damage severity for single as well as multiple damage scenarios. In addition, the robustness of this method is tested with the presence of white noise reflecting unavoidable uncertainties in signal processing and modeling in reality. The proposed approach is able to provide stable results with data corrupted by noise up to 10%.

A two-stage structural damage detection method using dynamic responses based on Kalman filter and particle swarm optimization

  • To solve the problem of detecting structural damage, a two-stage method using the Kalman filter and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is proposed. In this method, the first PSO population is enhanced using the Kalman filter method based on dynamic responses. Due to noise in the sensor responses and errors in the damage detection process, the accuracy of the damage detection process is reduced. This method proposes a novel approach for solve this problem by integrating the Kalman filter and sensitivity analysis. In the Kalman filter, an approximate damage equation is considered as the equation of state and the damage detection equation based on sensitivity analysis is considered as the observation equation. The first population of PSO are the random damage scenarios. These damage scenarios are estimated using a step of the Kalman filter. The results of this stage are then used to detect the exact location of the damage and its severity with the PSO algorithm. The efficiency of the proposed method is investigated using three numerical examples: a 31-element planer truss, a 52-element space dome, and a 56-element space truss. In these examples, damage is detected for several scenarios in two states: using the no noise responses and using the noisy responses. The results show that the precision and efficiency of the proposed method are appropriate in structural damage detection.

음질, 운율, 발음 특징을 이용한 마비말장애 중증도 자동 분류 (Automatic severity classification of dysarthria using voice quality, prosody, and pronunciation features)

  • 본 논문은 말 명료도 기준의 마비말장애 중증도 자동 분류 문제에 초점을 둔다. 말 명료도는 호흡, 발성, 공명, 조음, 운율 등 다양한 말 기능 특징의 영향을 받는다. 그러나 대부분의 선행연구는 한 개의 말 기능 특징만을 중증도 자동분류에 사용하였다. 본 논문에서는 음성의 장애 특성을 효과적으로 포착하기 위해 마비말장애 중증도 자동 분류에서 음질, 운율, 발음의 다양한 말 기능 특징을 반영하고자 하였다. 음질은 jitter, shimmer, HNR, voice breaks 개수, voice breaks 정도로 구성된다. 운율은 발화 속도(전체 길이, 말 길이, 말 속도, 조음 속도), 음높이(F0 평균, 표준편차, 최솟값, 최댓값, 중간값, 25 사분위값, 75 사분위값), 그리고 리듬(% V, deltas, Varcos, rPVIs, nPVIs)을 포함한다. 발음에는 음소 정확도(자음 정확도, 모음 정확도, 전체 음소 정확도)와 모음 왜곡도[VSA(vowel space area), FCR (formant centralized ratio), VAI(vowel articulatory index), F2 비율]가 있다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 특징 조합을 사용하여 중증도 자동 분류를 시행하였다. 실험 결과, 음질, 운율, 발음 특징 세 가지 말 기능 특징 모두를 분류에 사용했을 때 F1-score 80.15%로 가장 높은 성능이 나타났다. 이는 마비말장애 중증도 자동 분류에는 음질, 운율, 발음 특징이 모두 함께 고려되어야 함을 시사한다.

청소년의 이어폰 및 음향기기 사용 실태와 문제점에 관한 연구 (Problems of Usage of Earphones, PCPs on Hearing in Adolescents)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate usage of earplones, PCPs, and to give the basic data for adolescent's hearing health education. The study was a descriptive research about three factors affecting hearing loss; the knowledge and attitude about noise, the perception of hearing loss. Method: For research purposes, we conducted a questionnaire survey of 1,480 high school students in Suwon, from 27 October 2007 to 31 2007. Result: Most of the subjets used PCPs for 3-5 years, the average time of using earphones per day was 1-3 hours, awake hearing acuity decrease after using is the hearing acuity became worse some, PCPs type is MP3, use place house, listening contents ballade, disorder condition experience after using if the ear it is sick. The average of concern about hearing scored the highest 3.01${\pm}$0.54. The average of perceived susceptibility scored 3.04${\pm}$0.63 and the average of knowledge about noise scored 2.76${\pm}$0.46. The average of total knowledge and attitude about noise scored 2.93${\pm}$0.52. The average of discomfort of hearing loss(2.20${\pm}$0.63) scored higher than that fear of hearing loss(1.66${\pm}$0.30). The average of total perception of hearing loss scored 2.12${\pm}$0.67. Conclusion: At least in this study are shown in the youth earphone, PCPs used as a spare because of the seriousness of the issue, so as a result of these problems related to hearing about the youth campaign, through advertising or seriousness of the young people need them. In addition, countries also need to create policies and the support for health education, especially during the regular curriculum subjects on subjects that include teenagers in the earphone, PCPs due to problems with spare on the contents of the reservoir. The severity of hearing loss young people, prevention of hearing to protect the youth.

The Role of Cognitive Control in Tinnitus and Its Relation to Speech-in-Noise Performance

  • Self-reported difficulties in speech-in-noise (SiN) recognition are common among tinnitus patients. Whereas hearing impairment that usually co-occurs with tinnitus can explain such difficulties, recent studies suggest that tinnitus patients with normal hearing sensitivity still show decreased SiN understanding, indicating that SiN difficulties cannot be solely attributed to changes in hearing sensitivity. In fact, cognitive control, which refers to a variety of top-down processes that human beings use to complete their daily tasks, has been shown to be critical for SiN recognition, as well as the key to understand cognitive inefficiencies caused by tinnitus. In this article, we review studies investigating the association between tinnitus and cognitive control using behavioral and brain imaging assessments, as well as those examining the effect of tinnitus on SiN recognition. In addition, three factors that can affect cognitive control in tinnitus patients, including hearing sensitivity, age, and severity of tinnitus, are discussed to elucidate the association among tinnitus, cognitive control, and SiN recognition. Although a possible central or cognitive involvement has always been postulated in the observed SiN impairments in tinnitus patients, there is as yet no direct evidence to underpin this assumption, as few studies have addressed both SiN performance and cognitive control in one tinnitus cohort. Future studies should aim at incorporating SiN tests with various subjective and objective methods that evaluate cognitive performance to better understand the relationship between SiN difficulties and cognitive control in tinnitus patients.
