  • In this paper, we have analyzed the effects from the change of separation distance between grounding equipment at end of telecommunication line and the inducting facilities in power inducting situation. In the result of measurement, we can see that as the separation distance between grounding equipment ant end of telecommunication line and the inducting facility become longer, the induced noise level and PIF level is decreased. From the another experiment results about the effect of changing the impedance size in both ends of telecommunication line, however, we already knew that as the ground impedance at either end of the telecommunication line become grower, the noise level is increased, and as the ground impedance at either end of the telecommunication line become smaller, the noise level is decreased. Hence we can not define the relationship exactly between separation distance from inducting facility to inducted facility and the induced noise level because when the grounding equipment is moved, its impedance size is changed too. In conclusion, changing the separation distance between grounding equipment at end of telecommunication line and the inducting facilities have not influence on the induced noise level.

  • The dominant noise sources of Diesel Multiple Units are powerpack, which is composed of engine, transmission and cooling system, noise and wheel-rail rolling noise. The interior noise of a running vehicle is determined by structure-borne noise and air-borne noise from these noise sources. The contributions of interior noise from each noise source are calculated by air-borne transfer functions and structure-borne transfer functions of noise sources. In this paper, source separation technique is proposed to determine these transfer functions from the results of stationary and running tests of existing vehicle. With this technique, it is possible to get hold of contributions of interior noise from .noise sources of running vehicle. This source separation technique makes it possible to take efficient measures for reduction of interior noise at the early car-development stage.

  • We propose a new method to apply shape analysis techniques to a computational auditory scene analysis (CASA)-based speech separation system. The conventional CASA-based speech separation system extracts speech signals from a mixture of speech and noise signals. In the proposed method, we complement the missing speech signals by applying the shape analysis techniques such as labelling and distance function. In the speech separation experiment, the proposed method improves signal-to-noise ratio by 6.6 dB. When the proposed method is used as a front-end of speech recognizers, it improves recognition accuracy by 22% for the speech-shaped stationary noise condition and 7.2% for the two-talker noise condition at the target-to-masker ratio than or equal to -3 dB.

  • In this paper, we propose a new active noise control system that cancels the only noise signal from the mixture selectively. A blind source separation realized by a dynamic recurrent neural network is used as a preprocessor of the active noise control system and separates the desired signal and the noise signal. The active noise control system adaptively generates an anti-noise signal to remove the only noise signal separated by the blind source separation. Computer simulation results show that the proposed scheme is effective to construct a selective attention system.

  • The unsteady flow structure and the related noise generation, which are caused by the separation of a two-dimensional, incompressible, laminar boundary-layer on the flat plate under the influence of local adverse pressure gradient, are numerically examined. The characteristic lines of the wall pressure are examined to understand the unsteady behavior of vortex shedding near the reattachment point of the separation bubble. Also, the generation and propagation of the vortex-induced noise in the separated boundary-layer are calculated by the method of computational aero-acoustics (CAA), and the effects of Reynolds number, Mach number and the strength of the adverse pressure gradient on the unsteady flow and noise characteristics are examined.

  • It is addressed that the turbulent broadband sound power from a sirocco fan can be modeled by the trailing edge noise. The trailing edge noise is usually influenced by inflow turbulence, separation, and boundary layer on the blade. The design parameters such as solidity(c/s) and stagger angle are specified to predict performance and noise level because the separation and slip velocity are strong1y affected by them along with the flow coefficient. • In this paper, we propose a new Active Noise Control (ANC) system using a teacher forced Blind Source Separation (BSS) algorithm. The Blind Source Separation based on the Independent Component Analysis (ICA) separates the desired sound signal from the unwanted noise signal. In the proposed system, the BSS algorithm is used as a preprocessor of ANC system. Also, we develop a teacher forced BSS learning algorithm to enhance the performance of BSS. The teacher signal is obtained from the output signal of the ANC system. Computer experimental results show that the proposed ANC system in conjunction with the BSS algorithm effectively cancels only the ship engine noise signal from the linear and convolved mixtures with human voice.

  • This paper relates to the blind noise separation method of time-delayed convolutive mixed signals. Since the mixed model of acoustic signals in a closed space is multi-channel, a convolutive blind signal separation method is applied and time-delayed data samples of the two microphone input signals is used. For signal separation, the mixing coefficient is calculated using an inverse model rather than directly calculating the separation coefficient, and the coefficient update is performed by repeated calculations based on secondary statistical properties to estimate the speech signal. Many simulations were performed to verify the performance of the proposed blind signal separation. As a result of the simulation, noise separation using this method operates safely regardless of convolutive mixing, and PESQ is improved by 0.3 points compared to the general adaptive FIR filter structure.

  • The well-developed noise separatrion techniques are applied to the V8 RG8 Diesel engine for the engine noise reduction of a commercial vehicle. For various loads and engine RPM's, the contribution of the combustion oriented noise and the mechanically induced noise was calculated under the small variations of the injection timing. For the given Diesel engine the mechanical noise is dominant for low rpm, and the contribution of the combustion noise becomes greater as the rpm increases. The combustion noise is dominant around 2kHz range or under 50% loading condition.

  • This paper presents the separation performance of the linearly mixed image signals with additive noises by using an independent component analyses(ICAs) of the fixed-point(FP) algorithm based on Newton and secant method, respectively. The Newton's FP-ICA uses the slope of objective function, and the secant's FP-ICA also uses the tangent line of objective function. The 2 kinds of ICA have been applied to the 2 dimensional 2-image with $512\times512$ pixels. Then Gaussian noise and Laplacian noise are added to the mixed images, respectively. The experimental results show that the Newton's FP-ICA has better the separation speed than secant FP-ICA and the secant's FP-ICA has also the better separation rate than Newton's FP-ICA. Especially, the Newton and secant method gives relatively larger improvement degree in separation speed and rate as the noise increases.
