A Link-Label Based Node-to-Link Optimal Path Algorithm Considering Non Additive Path Cost (비가산성 경로비용을 반영한 링크표지기반 Node-to-Link 최적경로탐색)

  • Existing node-to-node based optimal path searching is built on the assumption that all destination nodes can be arrived at from an origin node. However, the recent appearance of the adaptive path search algorithm has meant that the optimal path solution cannot be derived in node-to-node path search. In order to reflect transportation data at the links in real-time, the necessity of the node-to-link (or link-to-node; NL) problem is being recognized. This research assumes existence of a network with link-label and non-additive path costs as a solution to the node-to-link optimal path problem. At the intersections in which the link-label has a turn penalty, the network retains its shape. Non-additive path cost requires that M-similar paths be enumerated so that the ideal path can be ascertained. In this, the research proposes direction deletion and turn restriction so that regulation of the loop in the link-label entry-link-based network transformation method will ensure that an optimal solution is derived up until the final link. Using this method on a case study shows that the proposed method derives the optimal solution through learning. The research concludes by bringing to light the necessity of verification in large-scale networks.

  • In this paper, we propose the time relation model among the media with the concept of time and space on hypermedia system. This model classifies time proceeding relations in the node and among media connected with the link which is extended to internal link (while a current node remains, a destination node of internal link proceeds) and external link(a current node is replaced by a destination node of external link). Using this model, hypermedia system for hypermedia presentation is designed and implemented. This hypermedia system provides editing tools and controllers to created and edit nodes with time relation information, link tool to construct associative relations among nodes and navigation tool to control context flows.

A New Link-Based Single Tree Building Algorithm for Shortest Path Searching in an Urban Road Transportation Network

  • The shortest-path searching algorithm must not only find a global solution to the destination, but also solve a turn penalty problem (TPP) in an urban road transportation network (URTN). Although the Dijkstra algorithm (DA) as a representative node-based algorithm secures a global solution to the shortest path search (SPS) in the URTN by visiting all the possible paths to the destination, the DA does not solve the TPP and the slow execution speed problem (SEP) because it must search for the temporary minimum cost node. Potts and Oliver solved the TPP by modifying the visiting unit from a node to the link type of a tree-building algorithm like the DA. The Multi Tree Building Algorithm (MTBA), classified as a representative Link Based Algorithm (LBA), does not extricate the SEP because the MTBA must search many of the origin and destination links as well as the candidate links in order to find the SPS. In this paper, we propose a new Link-Based Single Tree Building Algorithm in order to reduce the SEP of the MTBA by applying the breaking rule to the LBA and also prove its usefulness by comparing the proposed with other algorithms such as the node-based DA and the link-based MTBA for the error rates and execution speeds.

A Study on the Link Cost Estimation for Data Reliability in Wireless Sensor Network (무선 센서 네트워크에서 데이터 신뢰성을 위한 링크 비용 산출 방안에 관한 연구)

  • Wireless sensor networks have unbalanced energy consumption due to the convergence structure in which data is concentrated to sink nodes. To solve this problem, in the previous research, the relay node was placed between the source node and the sink node to merge the data before being concentrated to the sink node. However, selecting a relay node that does not consider the link quality causes packet loss according to the link quality of the reconfigured routing path. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a link cost calculation method for data reliability in routing path reconfiguration for relay node selection. We propose a link cost estimation formula considering the number of hops and RSSI as the routing metric value and select the RSSI threshold value through the packet transmission experiment between the sensor modules.

A Novel Multi-link Integrated Factor Algorithm Considering Node Trust Degree for Blockchain-based Communication

  • A blockchain is an underlying technology and basic infrastructure of the Bitcoin system. At present, blockchains and their applications are developing rapidly. However, the basic research of blockchain technology is still in the early stages. The efficiency and reliability of blockchain communication is one of the research problems that urgently need to be studied and addressed. Existing algorithms may be less feasible for blockchain-based communication because they only consider a single communication factor (node communication capability or node trust degree) and only focus on a single communication performance parameter(communication time or communication reliability). In this paper, to shorten the validation time of blockchain transactions and improve the reliability of blockchain-based communication, we first establish a multi-link concurrent communication model based on trust degree, and then we propose a novel integrated factor communication tree algorithm (IFT). This algorithm comprehensively considers the node communication link number and the node trust degree and selects several nodes with powerful communication capacity and high trust as the communication sources to improve the concurrency and communication efficiency. Simulation results indicate that the IFT algorithm outperforms existing algorithms. A blockchain communication routing scheme based on the IFT algorithm can increase communication efficiency by ensuring communication reliability.

  • Ad Node transmits packets to a destination node using routing function of intermediate nodes on the path in Ad Hoc networks. When the link to a next hop node in a path is broken due to the next hop node's mobility, a new route search process is required for continuing packets transmission. The node which recognizes link fault starts a local route recovery or the source node starts a new route search in the on demand routing protocol AODV. In this case, the new route search or the local route search brings packet delays and bad QoSs by packet delay. We propose RPAODV that the node predicts a link fault selects a possible node in neighbor nodes as a new next hop node for the path. The proposed protocol can avoid path faults and improve QoS.

  • As a main challenge in network virtualization, virtual network embedding problem is increasingly important and heuristic algorithms are of great interest. Aiming at the problems of poor correlation in node embedding and link embedding, long distance between adjacent virtual nodes and imbalance resource consumption of network components during embedding, we herein propose a two-stage virtual network embedding algorithm NA-PVNM. In node embedding stage, resource requirement and breadth first search algorithm are introduced to sort virtual nodes, and a node fitness function is developed to find the best substrate node. In link embedding stage, a path fitness function is developed to find the best path in which available bandwidth, CPU and path length are considered. Simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm could shorten link embedding distance, increase the acceptance ratio and revenue to cost ratio compared to previously reported algorithms. We also analyzed the impact of position constraint and substrate network attribute on algorithm performance, as well as the utilization of the substrate network resources during embedding via simulation. The results showed that, under the constraint of substrate resource distribution and virtual network requests, the critical factor of improving success ratio is to reduce resource consumption during embedding.

Analysis of Link Stability Based on Zone Master for Wireless Networks (무선네트워크에서 존 마스터 기반의 링크 안정성 해석)

  • Due to frequent topology changes in wireless networks, inter-node link disconnection and path re-establishment occur, causing problems such as overloading control messages in the network. In this paper, to solve the problems such as link disconnection and control message overload, we perform path setup in three steps of the neighbor node discovery process, the route discovery process, and the route management process in the wireless network environment. The link stability value is calculated using the information of the routing table. Then, when the zone master monitors the calculated link value and becomes less than the threshold value, it predicts the link disconnection and performs the path reset to the corresponding transmitting and receiving node. The proposed scheme shows a performance improvement over the existing OLSR protocol in terms of data throughput, average path setup time, and data throughput depending on the speed of the mobile node as the number of mobile nodes changes.

  • A vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET) consists of vehicles that form a network without any additional infrastructure, thus allowing the vehicles to communicate with each other. VANETs have unique characteristics, including high node mobility and rapidly changing network topology. Because of these characteristics, routing algorithms based on greedy forwarding such as greedy perimeter stateless routing (GPSR) are known to be very suitable for a VANET. However, greedy forwarding just selects the node nearest to the destination node as a relay node within its transmission range. This increases the possibility of a local maximum and link loss because of the high mobility of vehicles and the road characteristics in urban areas. Therefore, this paper proposes a reliability-improving position-based routing (RIPR) algorithm to solve those problems. The RIPR algorithm predicts the positions, velocities, and moving directions of vehicles after receiving beacon messages, and estimates information about road characteristics to select the relay node. Thus, it can reduce the possibility of getting a local maximum and link breakage. Simulation results using ns-2 revealed that the proposed routing protocol performs much better than the existing routing protocols based on greedy forwarding.

Node Matching of Road Network Data by Comparing Link Shape (링크 형상 비교를 이용한 도로 네트워크 데이터의 노드 매칭)

  • Nowadays, owing to the development of techniques for collecting geographic information, an increasing need is thus appearing: integrating heterogeneous databases. This paper proposes an algorithm for finding matching relationship between two node sets in road network data. We found the corresponding node pair using link shape linked with them as well as their location. The accuracy of matching was grown by this process. Result then can be used to reflect the topological information in performing link matching.
