Parallel Crack in Bonded Dissimilar Orthotropic Planes Under Out-of-Plane Loading (면외하중을 받는 상이한 직교 이방성 평면내의 평행균열)

  • A parallel crack in bonded dissimilar orthotropic planes under out-of-plane loading is analyzed. The problem is formulated by Fourier integral transforms, and reduced to a pair of dual integral equations. By solving the integral equations, the asymptotic stress and displacement fields near the crack tip are determined in closed form, from which the stress intensity factor and energy release rate are obtained. Discontinuity in the stress intensity factor as the distance ratio h/a of the parallel crack approaches zero is found, while the energy releas rate is shown to be continuous at h/a = 0. This information can immediately be used to generate the stress intensity factor for the parallel crack near the interface. By employing "the maximum energy release rate criterion", it could be shown in the case of no existing crack initially that the parallel crack is formed far from the interface for the more compliant material, while it is formed close to the interface for the stiffer material. material.

  • An improvement is introduced to solve the plane problems of linear elasticity by reciprocal theorem for orthotropic materials. This method gives an integral equation with complex kernels which will be solved numerically. An artificial boundary is defined to eliminate the singularities and also an algorithm is introduced to calculate multi-valued complex functions which belonged to the kernels of the integral equation. The chosen sample problem is a plate, having a circular or elliptical hole, stretched by the forces parallel to one of the principal directions of the material. Results are compatible with the solutions given by Lekhnitskii for an infinite plane. Five different orthotropic materials are considered. Stress distributions have been calculated inside and on the boundary. There is no boundary layer effect. For comparison, some sample problems are also solved by finite element method and to check the accuracy of the presented method, two sample problems are also solved for infinite plate.

  • This study discusses a non-contact optical technique, electronic speckle pattern interformetry(ESPI), that is well suited for in-plane and out-of-plane deformation measurement. However, the existing ESPI methods that are based on dual-exposure, real-time and time-average method have difficulties for accurate measurement of structure, due to irregular intensity and shake of phase. Therefore, phase shifting method has been proposed in order to solve this problem. About the method, the path of reference light in interferometry is shifted and added to least square fitting method to make the improvement in distinction and precision. This proposed method is applied to measure in -plane displacement that is compared with the previous method. Also, Used as specimen AS4/PE따 [30/=30/90]s was analyzed by ESPI based on real-time to determine the characteristics of vibration under no-load and tension. These results are quantitatively compared with those of FEM analysis inmode shapes.

  • Since the influence coefficients method in balancing of rotors is developed with the basement of not the principle of rotor system dynamics, but the linear relationshop of between the measuring quantities and the unbalance quantities, field engineers can apply the method without additional understanding on the rotor dynamics. But the influence coefficients method is not robust to the measurement error. This paper proposes a new method for the two plane balancing of rigid rotor, based on the principle of rotor dynamics. And the kit for experiment is made by ourselves, and in order to measure in the same condition with it, we do a experiment three times. And then with the Response of gap sensor, the SNR(Signal and Noise) is compared and analyzed about measuring error between the influence coefficient method, and the new method, and it is proved that the new method is less robust than the influence coefficient method.

E-Beam Evaporated Co/Cr and Co/Mo Multilayer Thin Films

  • Magnetic properties and crystallographic structure of e-beam evaporated Co/Cr and Co/Mo multilayer thin films were investigated using VSM and XRD. Co/Cr and Co/Mo multilayer thin films are confirmed as an alternating layered structure. The structure of films with thicker Co layers than Cr and Mo layers are found to be a hcp structure with the c-axis perpendicular to the film plane. The direction of the film plane is the easy magnetization one. There is a no significant difference in shape of hysteresis loops between Co/Cr and Co/Mo multilayer films. It is found that Mo layer is more effective than Cr for preparing Co layer with c-axis normal to the film plane.

  • A scheduled airlift is the most critical part of the air transportation operations in ROK Air Force. The military cargo-plane routing problem is a PDPLS (pickup and delivery problem in which load splits and node revisits are allowed). The cargo which is transported by a military cargo-plane is measured in pallet. The efficiency of pallet needs to be considered with respect to its volume and weight. There are some guidelines about orders of priorities and regulations in the military air transportation. However, there are no methodologies which can raise the efficiency of flight scheduling using Operations Research (OR) theories. This research proposes the effective computing methodology and the related heuristic algorithms that can maximize the effectiveness of the path routing model.

  • Although lobectomy remains the gold-standard surgical treatment for non-small-cell lung cancer, the frequency of thoracoscopic segmentectomy is increasing. Multiple factors must be considered in the choice of the procedure, ranging from adequate surgical planning or simulation, tumor localization, and identification of the intersegmental plane to severing the intersegmental plane to achieve an oncologically safe surgical margin with no or minimal manual palpation and different landmarks. In this article, we present an overview of methods for each procedural step of thoracoscopic segmentectomy, from preoperative planning to division of the intersegmental plane.

A Study on the Mandibular Movements in the Patients with TMJ Lock Closed -Range and pattern of mandibulr movement- (악관절 폐구성 과두걸림 환자의 하악운동에 관한 연구 -치료전후의 하악운동 범위 및 양상 -)

  • The authors examined the patterns and various ranges of mandibular movements in TMJ lock closed patients in the frontal, sagittal and horizontal plane pre-end post-treatment. And the author obtained the following results. 1. In the frontal plane, the patterns and ranges of mandibular movement of the patients were very irregular and small before treatment. But after the treatment, the patterns were similar to the typical shield shape of the normal subjects. And the velocity of opening and closing was improved after the treatment. 2. In the sagittal plane, the mean amount of maximum mouth opening was 27.0±4.0mm before treatment and 44.0±5.4mm after treatment. And there was statistically significant improvement(p<0.005). The patterns of the movement were very irregular and small before treatment, but were similar to the shape of "Posselt's envelope of motion" after the treatment. The velocity of opening and closing was improved after the treatment 3. In the horizontal plane, the mean amount of maximum laterotrusion was 8l2±2.5mm in the affected side and 6.7±2.2mm in the non-affected side before treatment. There was a significant difference between the sides(p<0.05). After the treatment, the mean was 10.4±2.6mm in the affected side and 8.9±2.3mm in the non-affected side and there was no significant difference between the sides(p>0.05). There was no significant difference in the mean amount of maximum protrusion between the before and aftertreatment(p>0.05), but the patterns of the movements were improved.

A CEPHALOMETRIC STUDY ON MESIODISTAL AXIAL INCLINATION OF POSTERIOR TEETH IN OPEN BITE AND DEEP BITE (개방교합과 과개교합에서 구치의 근원심 치축경사도에 관한 두부방사선계측학적 연구)

  • For the purpose of investigating mesiodistal axial inclination of posterior teeth in normal occlusion group, open bite and deep bite group and investigating the correlationship between the axial inclination of posterior teeth and overbite of anterior teeth, a cephalometric study was performed on the subjects consisted of normal occlusion group(40), open bite group(71 : Angle's Class I, Class II, division 1 25, Class III 25) and deep bite group(64 : Angle's Class I 23, Class II, division 1 21, Class III 20). Mesiodistal axial inclination of posterior teeth to occlusal, mandibular and palatal plane were measured. The findings of this study were as follows : 1. Upper and lower posterior teeth were more mesially inclined to occlusal plane in open bite group than in deep bite group. 2. Lower posterior teeth were more mesially inclined in deep bite group than in open bite group in Angle's Class II, division 1 malocclusion but there were no significant differences in Angle's Class I and Class III malocclusion. 3. There was no significant correlationship between the axial inclination of posterior teeth to each plane and overbite of anterior teeth in open bite group. 4. There was a significant correlationship between the axial inclination of upeer and lower second premolar to occlusal plane and overbite of anterior teeth in Angle's Class I, Class II, division 1 and Class III malocclusion.

EFFECTS OF ORTHOGNATHIC SURGERY ON THE OCCLUSAL FORCE (악교정술(顎矯正術)이 교합력(咬合力)에 미치는 영향(影響)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • This study was undertaken to investigate the effect of orthognathic surgery on occlusal force. The maximum bite force was measured in 26 dentofacial deformity patients, aged 14-26(mean age 20.3) years, before surgery and at IMF removal, 3, 6, and 12months postsurgery. To grope the correlation of bite force and skeletal change after orthognathic surgery, the cephalometric headplates were measured, tabulated and statistically analyzed. The results were as follows. 1. The presurgical maximum bite force was 13.7kg in upper first molar(rt. Side 12.7kg, it. Side 14.6kg). There was remarkable difference with that of normal occlusion. 2. The recovery of bite force was very significant in according to the operation method and the duration of IMF that was 7.6kg at IMF removal, 14.2kg at 3 months, 19.7kg at 6 months. 26.1kg at 12 months postsurgery. 3. To fasten the recovery and to increase the bite force after orthognathic surgery, the long IMF time and the injury to the masticatory muscle should be avoided by the internal rigid fixation and early physical exercise. 4. The bite force was positively correlated to the changes of mandibular plane angle, the angle between platatal plane and mandibular plan, the angle between occlusal plane and mandibular plane, and negatively correlated to the changes of mandibular body length in craniofacial structure. 5. There was no correlationship between bit force and mesial inclination of tooth long axis of first molar in this subject. 6. There was no correlation between the changes of bite force and the changes of mechanical advantage of the temporal and masseter muscle.
