AICoPd (1/1/0.05) 및 AICoFe (1/1/2)의 혼합금속산화물 촉매에 의한 NO, $N_2O$$O_2$의 흡탈착 특성 연구 (Adsorption-Desorption Characteristics of NO, $N_2O$ and $O_2$ over Mixed Oxide Catalysts of AlCoPd (1/1/0.05) and AlCoFe (1/1/2))

  • 혼합금속산화물인 AlCoPd (1/1/0.05) 및 AlCoFe (1/1/2) 촉매의 Lean $NO_x$ Trap (LNT) 적용을 위하여 NO 및 $N_2O$에 대한 흡착 및 탈착 특성을 살펴보았다. 이들은 NO 및 $N_2O$에 대해 산화 과정 없이도 NO를 잘 흡착하는 성능을 나타냈다. 산소가 공존하는 복합 성분의 흡착에서는 흡착량이 많이 떨어졌지만 NO의 경우 산소대비 높은 선택성과 흡착능을 유지한 반면 $N_2O$의 선택성과 흡착능은 급격히 떨어지는 양상을 나타냈다. 또한 TPD로 살펴본 탈착 특성에서는 고온 영역에서 NO 및 $N_2O$성분이 분해되며 생성된 산소 성분 등이 높은 온도에서도 촉매에 강하게 결합되어 있는 것으로 파악되었다.

  • 액체구조의 천이상태이론을 아산화질소($N_2O$)와 사산화질소($N_2O_4$)에 적용하여 이 액체들의 상태합을 유도하였다. 이상태합들을 써서 각 액체의 몰부피, 증기압, 증발엔트로피, 임계점에서의 성질 등, 여러가지 열역학적양들을 계산한 결과 모두 실험치와 좋은 일치를 얻었다.

  • There are a lot of trace gas of gaseous pollutants produced from farm animals. CO2 and CH4 are gases produced directly by the animal. NH3, N2O are produced from animal waste. Most of the effects of these gaseous pollutants on the farm animals have not been investigated in detail. CO2 emission from animal is very little. CH4 release from ruminant is also considered to be a significant factor in potential global warming. Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions could be avoided by using organic or mineral fertilizer only as much as is needed by plant growing. This paper gives an overview about problems and solving strategies for possibilities for reduction of gaseous pollutants. The way to reduce the gaseous pollution risks from livestock systems are discussed.

  • Greenhouse gases (GHGs) such as carbon dioxide ($CO_2$), methane (CH$_4$), nitrous oxide ($N_2$O), chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), sulphur hexafluoride (SF$_{6}$), together with water vapour ($H_2O$) and ozone play an important role in determining the earth's climate. The primary cause of the enhancement of GHGs is the global use of fossil fuels to generate heat, power, and electricity for a growing world population, as well as the changes in the land use, especially for agriculture. In addition, biomass buring and biofuel emissions play major roles in the GHG emissions in the Asian region because they produce large amounts of carbon monoxide (CO), nonmethane volatile organic compounds(NMVOC), black carbon(BC) and other gases. Combustion Characteristics of an Agricultural Diesel Engine using Biodiesel Fuel

  • Biodiesel has great potential as an alternative fuel for diesel engines that would reduce air pollution. It is a domestically produced, renewable fuel that can be manufactured from fresh or used vegetable oils, or from animal fats. In this study, a biodiesel fuel derived from rice bran oil was tested as an alternative fuel for agricultural diesel engines. The emissions were characterized for both neat and blended biodiesel fuels, and for conventional diesel fuel. Since this biodiesel fuel contained 11 % oxygen, it strongly influenced the combustion process. The use of biodiesel fuel resulted in lower carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and smoke emissions, without any increase in nitrous oxide emissions. The study demonstrated that biodiesel fuel could be effectively used as a renewable and environmentally innocuous fuel for agricultural diesel engines.

  • Effect of high temperature annealing conditions on Ta$_{2}O_{5}$ thin films was investigated. Ta$_{2}O_{5}$ thin films were deposited on P-type silicon substrates by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) using tantalum ethylate. Ta(C$_{2}H_{5}O)_{5}$, and nitrous oxide. N$_{2}$O. The microstructure changed from amorphous to polycrystalline above 700.deg. C annealing temperature. The refractive index, dielectric onstant and leakage current of the film increased as annealing temperature increased. However, annealing in oxygen ambient reduced leakage currents and dielectric constant due to the formation of interfacial SiO$_{2}$ layer. By optimizing annealing temperature and ambient, leakage current lower than 10$^{-8}$ A/cm$^{2}$ and maximum capacitance of 9 fF/${\mu}m^{2}$ could be obtained.

Theoretical Study of the Interaction of N2O with Pd(110)

  • N2O has been found from experimental and theoretical considerations to bind on-top to the Pd(110) surface in a tilted end-on fashion via its terminal N atom. We use a frontier orbital description of the bonding interactions in the Pd-N2O system to obtain molecular insight into the catalytic mechanism of the activation of N2O by the Pd(110) surface giving rise to the formation of N2 and O on the surface. For the tilted end-on N2O binding mode, the LUMO 3π of N2O has good overlap with the Pd dσ and dπ orbitals which can serve as the electron donors. The donor-acceptor orbital overlap is favorable for electron transfer from Pd to N2O and is expected to dominate the surface reaction pathway of N2O decomposition.

  • Variation of tracer distribution during the vortex-breakup period in the Antarctic region was observed by the data from the Improved Limb Atmospheric Spectrometer (ILAS) and ILAS-II. All four trace species including methane, nitrous oxide, ozone, and water vapor show similar patterns of vertical gradient in spite of different structures of zonal mean mixing ratio. Timings of vortex breakup on each level are estimated by two different methods, and they are compared with zonal standard deviations following the latitude circle of each trace species. Although the tracers have different chemical life times and sink/source, the zonal standard deviation patterns show remarkable similarities. The zonal standard deviation shown here to measure the zonal asymmetry of tracer distribution is believed to diagnose the timing of the Antarctic polar-vortex breakup reasonably well.

Factors Affecting and Techniques to Quantify $CH_4\;and\;N_2O$ Emissions from Stored Liquid Manure

  • Stored animal manure is considered as a significant agricultural source of methane $(CH_4)$ and nitrous oxide $(N_2O)$ which have 23 and 297 times higher global warming effect when compared to carbon dioxide $(CO_2)$. Uncertainties caused by lack of understanding physical and biochemical environment in stored animal manure and by errors of emission measurement methods, even though many researches measuring $CH_4\;and\;N_2O$ emissions from stored manure have been conducted for a few decades. In this paper, general information of $CH_4\;and\;N_2O$ generation and emissions from stored animal manure and the measurement methods for quantifying $CH_4\;and\;N_2O$ emissions are discussed.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 자체 설계 제작한 하이브리드 발사체를 이용하여 대기 중의 미세먼지를 측정하는데 있다. 대기 중의 미세먼지를 측정하기 위한 방법으로는 중량농도법을 이용하였으며, 미세먼지 측정을 위한 포집장치를 자체 제작하였다. 엔진은 5port의 HDPE(High Density Polyethylene)를 연료 그레인으로 사용하였고 $LN_2O$(Liquefied Nitrous Oxide)를 산화제로 사용하였다. 압력, 가속도, GPS 등을 수집하며, 하이브리드 발사체의 동체는 FRP(Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics)로 제작한다. 전체 비행시간은 총 95초로 예상되며. 연소시간은 3초, 고도는 800 m 이다.
