Structures of (4-Nitro-benzylidene)-(3-nitro-phenyl)-amine and trans-Dichlorobis (3-nitroaniline) palladium(II) ((4-Nitro-benzylidene)-(3-nitro-phenyl)-amine 및 trans-Dichlorobis(3-nitroaniline) palladium(II)의 구조)

  • A novel potential linking ligand (4-nitro-benzylidene)-(3-nitro-phenyl)-amine (1) was prepared from 4-nitrobenzaldehyde and 3-nitroaniline by the Schiff-base condensation. From the reaction between 1 and dichlorobis(benzonitrile)palladium (II) $(PdCl_2(NCPh)_2)$, an unexpected product $trans-PdCl_2(NO_2-C_6H_4-NH_2)_2$ (2) was isolated. Compounds 1 and 2 were structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction. In compound 2, the $NH_2$ hydrogen atoms in the 3-nitroaniline ligand participate in intermolecular N-H${\cdot}\;{\cdot}\;{\cdot}\;$Cl hydrogen bonds.

  • In order to find 2-(5-nitro)furylacrylic acid derivatives possessing antimicrobial activity, nine new 2-(5-nitro)furylacrylamino acids were synthesized which were obtained by the action of 2-(5-nitro)furylacryla chloride on amino acids, such as $_{L}$-phenylalanine, glycine, $_{L}$-isoleucine, $_{L}$-glutamic acid, $_{DL}$-methionine, $_{L}$-threonine, $_{L}$-valine, $_{L}$-tryptophan and $_{DL}$-alanine, according to Schotten-Baumann method. These compounds generally showed a good bactericidal and bacteriostatic activity against Bacillus subtilis but were less effective against staphylococcus aureus, Proteus vulgaris and Escherichia coli. Of the above nine compounds, 2-(5-nitro)furylacryl glycine exhibited a good bactericidal activity.

  • Eighteen 2-aryl-3-(5-nitro-2-furyl) acrylamides were synthesized as antimicrobial agent, by the condensation of 2-(p-sulbstituted phenyl)-3-(5-nitro-2-furyl) acryloyl chloride with amino component, such as sulfisozxazole, sulfamethoxypyridazine and sulfadimethoxine. All compounds showed fair bacteriostatic activity against staphylococcus aureus 6538p, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, and Klebsiella pneumoniae. 2-(p-Hydroxyphenyl)-and 2-(p-acetoxyphenyl) compounds also showed antimicrobial activity against Saccharomyces cerevisiae 396 and Aspergillus oryzae.

  • Reductive transformations of gem-bromonitro compounds and ${\alpha}$-nitro ketones were carried out conveniently with sodium dithionite by using dioctyl viologen as an electron-transfer catalyst in dichloromethane-water two-phase system:the bromine atom in gem-bromonitro compounds and the nitro group in ${\alpha}$-nitro ketones are replaced by hydrogen.

  • A new compound, (5-nitro-2-furfurylidene)-p, $p^{'}$ -diaminodiphenylsulfone, was synthesized by refluxing the mixture of 5-nitrofurfural and p, $p^{'}$-diaminodiphenylsulfone$ in ethanol solution. It exhibited good antibactericidal action against several micro-organisms.

  • Due to their high strength and good wear resistance, nitro-carburizing materials have been used for many machine components. However, the nitro-carburizing materials are found to have one disadvantage ; that is, their strength and fatigue life show larger scatter than those of non-heated metals. In this paper, therfore, the statistical chracteristics of non-heated and nitro-carburized specimens for SCM415 are investi- gated under two different of stress levels 1.15 .sigma. /sub .omega. / .leq. / .sigma. / sub .alpha. / .leq. / 1.25 .sigma. /sub .omega. /. Seven specimens at each stress level are tested by using rotating bending fatigue tester. The relation between a crack length and fatigue cycles can be arranged for Weibull distribution, and S-N curve using 95% reliability function is obtalined for nitro-carburized specimen.

  • White light emission is very important for applying electroluminescent device to full display, backlight and illumination light source. In this letter, Multilayer molecular organic white-light-emitting device using thin nim of blue material nitro-DPVT with fluorescent dye Rubrene for an orange emission were fabricated. The basic structure of the fabricated device is a-NPD / nitro-DPVT / nitro- DPVT:Rubrene / BCP/ Alq3. Aluminum is used as the cathode material and ITO was anode material. The white light emission spectrum covers a wide range of the visible region and the Commission Internationale do I'E clairage (C.I.E.) coordinates of the emitted light was ((0.3347, 0.3515) at 14V. The turn voltage is as low as 2.5V and quantum efficiencies are $0.35\%$.

  • 본 연구에서는 전도성 분자로 잘 알려진 4,4-Di(ethynyl phenyl) -2'-nitro-1-(thioacetyl)-benzene(nitro - benzene) 분자를 Au (111) 표면에 자기조립하고, ultra high vacuum scanning tunneling microscopy (UHV-STM)을 사용하여 STM tip과 sample 사이의 거리를 변화시키면서 전기전도 특성을 측정하였다. Au 기판제작은 연증착시스템 (Thermal Evaporation System)으로 제작하였으며, piranha 용액 ($H_{2}SO_{4}\;:\;H_{2}O_{2}$=3:1)을 사용하여 전치리한 후, 자기조립 단분자막 (SAMs)을 형성하였다. 먼저 1-octanethiol을 ethanol solution용액 1 mM/L 농도에서 24시간 동안 자기조립한 후에, ethanol를 solution 용액으로 이용하여 nitro-benzene를 0.1 nM/L 농도로 암실에서 30분간 자기조립 하였다. 자기조림 후 solution을 제거하기 위해 에탄올로 세척하여 $N_2$로 건조시켰다. 이 조건하에서 UHV-STM을 사용하여 nitro-benzene SAMs의 실시간 모폴로지의 변화에 따른 nitro-benzene의 전기전도 특성을 STM tip - SAMs - Au 기판의 수직구조로 STM tip과 nitro-benzene의 거리를 변화시키면서, tunneling current을 조사하였다. 측정 결과 Z-position 변화에 대한 tunneling current와 resistance의 변화를 확인할 수 있었다.

  • A stacked white organic light-emitting diode (OLED) having a blue/orange emitting layer was fabricated by synthesizing nitro-DPVT, a new derivative of the blue-emitting material DPVBi on the market. The white-emission of the two-wavelength type was successfully obtained by using both nitro-DPVT for blue~emitting material, orange emission as a host material and Rubrene for orange emission as a guest material. The basic structure of the fabricated white OLED is glass/ITO/NPB$(200{\AA})$/nitro-DPVT$(100{\AA})$/nitro-DPVT:$Rubrene(100{\AA})/BCP(70{\AA})/Alq_3(150{\AA})/Al(600{\AA})$. To evaluate the. characteristics of the devices, firstly, we varied the doping concentrations of fluorescent dye Rubrene from 0.5 % to 0.8 % to 1.3 % to 1.5 % to 3.0 % by weight. A nearly pure white-emission was obtained in CIE coordinates of (0.3259, 0.3395) when the doping concentration of Rubrene was 1.3 % at an applied voltage of 18 V. Secondly, we varied the thickness of the NPB layer from $150{\AA}\;to\;200{\AA}\;to\;250{\AA}\;to\;300{\AA}$ by fixing doping with of Rubrene at 1.3 %. A nearly pure white-emission was also obtained in CIE coordinates of (0.3304, 0.3473) when the NPB layer was $250-{\AA}$ thick at an applied voltage of 16 V. The two devices started to operate at 4 V and to emit light at 4.5 V. The external quantum efficiency was above 0.4 % when almost all of the current was injected.
