Productivity of alkaline proteinase from Yarrowia lipolytica 504D was investigated. For the production fo the enzyme, hemoglobin was the best nitogen source, however, casein and skim milk were also good. All carbon sources inhibited strongly the producitivity of the enzyme. Yeast extract increased the productivity of the enzyme to 220%, but almost mineral salts except monovalant ions decreased it. Based on these results, optimal medium was composed of 1.2% casein, 0.2% glucose, 0.16% yeast extract, and 0.1% ammonium sulfate. the best condition for the production of the enzyme was observed at pH 9 and $20^{\circ}C$ for 42 hours.

The objectives of this study were to investigate atmospheric dry deposition of inorganic nitrogen-containing compounds to waterbody. Target waterbody is Juam reservoir functioning as one of the major water supply sources in Chollanamdo. Nitrate and ammonium dry deposition fluxes were directly measured using dry deposition plate (DDP) covered with greased strips and a water surface sampler (WSS). The daytime average $NO_{3}^{-}\;and\;NH_{4}^{+}$ fluxes measured with DDP and WSS were $1.7\∼2.6$ times higher than those at nighttime. The seasonal average flux of $NH_{4}^{+}$ showed the highest value in summer. The daytime and nighttime average dry deposition fluxes of particulate phase Nitogen-containing Compounds ($1.13,\;0.80\;mg/m^{2}$ day) were much higher than those of gas phase compounds ($0.50,\;0.24\;mg/m^{2}$ day).
A nutrition survey of 209 children, 6 to 13 years old, in the namgok elemetnary school at Namsamyun, Yongin-gun, Kyonggi province, was undertaken in July of 1987, to investigate dietary and nutritional status. Mean value of hight was 98% of the Korean standard established by the Korean Standards Research Institute. However, in these terms, 7.7% of the subjects were proven to be short, mean value of weight was 94.5 of the Korean standard. However, in these terms, 9.3% of the subjects were proven to be moderatly underweight ; whereas 10.4% of the subjects were proven to be over weight. By the WHO criterion, 18.4% of the subjects showed lower figures of hemoglobin than anemic level of 12gm%/이. Mean urinary urea nitogen/creatinine ratio was 9.1$\pm$5.0 Carbohyudrate provided 68% of total energy intake ; protein accunted for 13% ; fat provided 19%. Energy intake was divided among breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks in a percentage ratio of 22 : 44 : 24 : 13. The survey clarified that the elementary school feeding largely supplemented the inadequate intake of these chidren at home.

Two new complexes with 5-methyl-1-(pyridine-3-yl)-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylic acid (Hmptc) ligand: [$Cd(mptc)_2(H_2O)_4$] (1) and $[Cu(mptc)_4{\cdot}2H_2O]_n$ (2) were prepared and their crystal structures were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. In complex 1, the Cd(II) ions coordinates with the pyridyl nitogen atom from the Hmptc ligand, forming a mononuclear Cd(II) compound. Complex 2 exhibits a novel two-dimensional (2D) polymer in which four Hmptc ligands stabilize the Cu(II) atom. And the coordination involves one nitrogen atom of the triazole, one oxygen atom of the carboxylic acid and the pyridyl nitrogen atom. In addition, FT-IR and solid-state fluorescent emission spectroscopy of two compounds have been determined.

The TiN, thin films were prepared on glass substrate by RF(radio-frequency) magnetron sputtering apparatus from a Ti target in a gaseous mixture of argon and nitrogen. In deposition, a RF power supply was used as a power source with a constant power of 240W, and the substrate was heated to $200^{\circ}C$. The films were obtained at nitogen flow rates in the range 3-9 sccm with a constant argon flow rate of 20 secm. For the films obtained, the sheet resistance and the chemical binding energy of the films was observed by four-point-probe method and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) depth profiling respectively. In addition, we investigated the relationship between the surface resistance and the chemical nature of the films.
The effects of various kind and amount of nitrogen fertilizers on the plant grorth. physiological , yield and extracts. ligustilide, butylidene phthalide contents of curdsdrug "Tou-ki" (AnTelica acutiloba Kitagawa) were investigated in 1989. Five plots variouskind of nitrogen fertilizers. Namely, no nitrogen, urea. ammonium nitrate, ammoniumchloride and control plot of ammonium sulfate. The other, by providing five plotsdifferent composed ratio of nitrogenous fertilizers. containing no nitrogen (No. o) .0.5-fold nitrogen (No s), control plot of 1.0-fold nitrogen(Nl.o). 1.5-fold nitrogen(Nl s)and 2.0-fold nitrogen Na. o), but nitogen was used the ammonium sulfate. The results showedthat the crude drug "Tou-ki" can ammonium chloride be produced in good yield, displayingboth good plant growth and remarkable physiologically-active conditions, and it can beproduced such that the extracts is maximized. Additionally, using methods of gaschromatography (GC) , it was established that ligustilide and butylidene phthalide, majorcomponents in the crude drug was recovered in a good yield from the fully grown plants. The other, the plant growth, the physiologically-active, the weight of whole plant, theyield of extracts and ligustilide, butylidene phthalide were seen to be best at the plotof 2.0-fold nitrogen and according to the increase or decrease of nitrogen decreasedgradually. Therefore. about 2 fold of standard quantity seems to be the most suitablequantity of nitrogen for "Tou-ki" cultivation .uot;Tou-ki" cultivation .ion .
Bis(diethyldithiocarbamato)ioxomolybdenum(VI), cis-MoO2(S2CNEt2)2, 1, reacted with chlorotrimethylsilane (Me33SiCl) to give a seven-coordinate, pentagonal bipyramidal complex MoOC12(S2CN]Et2)2, 3, in which the oxo ligand is trans to the chloride ligand and the two chloride ligands are mutually cis. The monooxo molybdenum complex bis(diethyidithiocarbamato)oxomolybdenum(IV), MoO(S2CNEt2)2, 2, reacted with phenyl isocyanate (PhNCO) to give an Mo dimer MO2{μ-N(CONPh)Ph}(μ-NPh)(NPh)2(S2CNEt2)2, 4, which contains an Mo-Mo bond, two diethyldithiocarbamato ligands, two terminal imido (NPh) ligands, and two bridging hnido (NPh) ligands. One of the two bridging NPh ligands seemed to have been attacked by the electrophilic phenyl isocyanate carbon, which suggests that the bridging imido NPh ligand is more nucleophilic than the terminal one. This was the second study on the ecological characteristics of the epiphytes on seagrass leaf. The objective of this study was to understand the variation of epiphytes on seagrass leaf depending on the change of physico-chemical factors such as salinity, nutrients, and etc. This study showed the four results. 1) The eelgrass growth was influenced by water temperature, suggesting the positive correlation between eelgrass growth and water temperature. 2) The epiphytes growth on seagrass leaves did not show the correlation with water temperature, but negatively correlated with salinity. 3) The eelgrass growth decreased when the concentraion of nitrogen increased. 4) However, loads of epiphytes increased when the concentration of total nitogen (TN), nitrate ($NO_3^-$), and nitrite ($NO_2^-$) were high. This increase of epiphytes growth could be suggested in the cause-effect pathway of nutrient enrichment leading to seagrasses loss.
Pseudomonas aeruginosa KLP-2 possessing antimicro- bial activity against Legionella pneumophila was isolated from cooling tower-waters. The culture filtrates of P. aeruginosa KLP-2 showed antimicrobial activity against L. pneumophila Vibro cholerae non-Ol. Bacillus cereus, Bacillus subtilis and staphylococcus aureus. The culture filtrates of P. aeruginosa KLP-2 showed the highest anti-microbial activity against. L pneumophila among micoorganisms tested in this study. The optimal conditions of temperature, pH carbon source and nitogen source to obtain maximal antimicrobial activity from culture filtrates of P. aeruginosa KLP-2 were determined to be 35$^{\circ}C$ pH 7.0 % of glycerol and 0.6% of proteose peptone respec- tively. The antimicrobial activity of culture filtrates from P. seruginosa KLP-2 was highest against L. pneumophila when cultivated with shaking for 24 h and without shaking for 4 day at 35$^{\circ}C$.

Carbon nanotubes (CNT) which were grown, on the alumina substrate with a pair of comb-type Au electrodes, by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition have been investigated for $NO_2$ gas sensor. The electrical resistance of CNT film decreased with temperature, indicating a semiconductor type of CNT, and also the resistance of CNT sensor decreased with increasing $NO_2$ concentration. Upon exposure to $NO_2$ gas, the electrical resistance of CNT film sensor rapidly decreased within 3 minutes, and then showed a constant value after $20\~30$ minutes. It is found that the sensitivity of CNT sensor has been improved by air oxidation. The CNT sensor oxidized at $450^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes showed higher sensitivity value than that without oxidation by $27\%$, even for a low 250 ppb $NO_2$ concentration at operating temperature of $200^{\circ}C$. But it needs a recovery time more than 20 minutes for reuse after detection of $NO_2$ gas.
