다양한 코팅 방법에 따른 전조한 강 볼트의 내부식성 (2) (Corrosion Resistance of the Roll Formed Steel Bolts with the Various Types of Coating Methods (2))

  • Corrosion occurs well on surface of roll formed and Zn alloy subsequently electro-deposited on steel bolt under wet condition. In this study, variations in corrosion resistance were investigated through the measurement of polarization curves on steel bolts which were roll formed and subsequently coated with various types of coating methods. According to the measured polarization curve, Ni-P electroless deposits on roll formed steel increased the resistance to corrosion. The corrosion resistance of Zn alloy powder coated steel bolt was found to be better than that of Zn-Ni electro-deposited sample.

  • The purpose of this paper was to investigate the effect of deposition configuration on the mechanical properties of the flame sprayed titania ceramic coating. The sprayed deposition configuration was made in different five types with titania ceramic and Ni-base alloy on the mild steel substrate. The composite coating exhibited superior mechanical properties such as hardness, adhesive strength, thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance, whereas the mixed coating proved to be more resistant to erosion. Especially graded coating, which consist of Ni-base alloy undercost, intermediate grade coat and titania ceramic overcost, showed excellent mechanical properties.

크롬탄화물 용사피막의 접착력 및 잔류응력측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Adhesion Strength and Residual Stress Measurement of Plasma Sprayed Cr$_3$C$_2$-NiCr Coating)

  • The plasma sprayed Cr$_{2}$C$_{2}$-NiCr coatings are widely used as wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials. The mechanical properties of the plasma sprayed Cr$_{2}$C$_{2}$-NiCr coatings were examined in this study. The distribution of the residual stress with the coating thickness was also examined by X-ray diffraction method. The pore in the coatings could be classified into two types ; one is the intrinsic pore originated from the spraying powder, the other is the extrinsic pore formed during spraying. During the tensile adhesion test, the fracture occurred at the interface of top coat and substrate or top coat and bond coat depending on the existence of bond coat. It was found that the compressive residual stress near the interface decreased with the increase of the top coat thickness. The tensile adhesion strength of the coating without bond coat was higher than that with bond coat, because the coating with bond coat has higher horizontal crack density near the interface between bond coat and top coat.

입자분산이 Ni-CNT 복합도금막의 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Particle Dispersion on Physical Properties of Ni-CNT Composite Coatings)

  • Ni-CNT(carbon nanotubes) composite coating is often used for the surface treatment of electronic/mechanical devices to improve the properties of the exisiting Ni electroplating. For this, the dispersion of CNT particle is a critical process. In this study, ball milling and additive called sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) are employed for dispersion. Electroplated Ni-CNT films were examined by SEM-EDX, AES, microhardness tester, 4-point probe and contact angle measurement to find the optimum dispersion conditions. Ni-CNT coatings formed by ball milling for 9 hrs and with addition of SDS 12 times of CNT contents showed the highest hardness, reasonable resistivity and non-stick characteristics.

지르코니아 /NiCrAlY 계 플라즈마 용사피막의 고온 파괴거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on High Temperature Fracture Behavior of Plasma Sprayed Zirconia/ NiCrAlY Coating System)

  • This paper describes experimental results of modified small punch( MSP) test conducted to evaluate the fracure characteristics and mechanical properties of plasma sparayed zirconia ($ZrO_2$ stabilized with 8wt. % $Y_20_3$ : YSZ) NiCrAlY composite. The mixing ratios of YSZ/NiCrAlY were 0/100, 25/75, 50/50, 100/0 v.%. Test temperatures ranged from 293K to 1473K. This study is directed at development of thermal barrrier coating(TBC) system with superior heat resistance and mechanical properties. The microstructure and fracture process of the composite were examined by SEM and AE method. The mechanical properties of 100% YSZ were nearly independent of the temperatures tested in this study. In contrast, the NiCrAlY-containing composites showed a significant decrease of the mechanical properties above 1273K, showing a ductile- brittle transition behavior up to the temperature. Furthermore, it can seen that 25% YSZ/75% NiCrAlY composite gave the highest fracure strength and fracture energy among the mixing ratio tested over the temperature range.

용융탄산염형 연료전지의 NiO 공기극의 용해거동에 미치는 알루미나 코팅효과에 대한 연구 (A study on the effect of alumina coating on NiO dissolution in molten carbonate fuel cell)

  • The stability of alumina-coated NiO cathodes was studied in $Li_{0.62}/K_{0.38}$ molten carbonate electrolyte. Alumina was effectively coated on the porous Ni plate using galvanostatic pulse plating method. The deposition mechanism of alumina was governed by the concentration of hydroixde ions near the working electrode, which was controlled by the temperature of bath solution. Alumina-coated NiO cathodes were formed to $A1_2O_3-NiO$ solid solution by the oxidation process and their Ni solubilities were were than that of NiO up to the immersion time of 100h. However, their Ni solubilities increased and were similar to that of the bare NiO cathode after 100h. It was because aluminum into the solid solution was segregated to $\alpha-LiAlO_2$ on the NiO and its Product did not Play a role of the Physical barrier against NiO dissolution.

마찰부식 방지를 위한 Ni-P-PTFE 코팅의 적용 (Application of Ni-P-PTFE Coatings for Preventing Fretting Corrosion)

  • Au/Ni coatings are widely used in the electrical interconnect system, such as connectors, sockets and wire crimps. But due to repeated mechanical contacts, fretting corrosion occurs and causes a rapid increase in resistance. As an attempt to resolve these problem, application of Ni-P-PTFE to replace Ni undercoats was proposed, for which basic materials properties of Ni-P-PTFE coatings for preventing fretting corrosion was examined in this study. The Ni-P-PTFE coatings were formed by electroless Ni plating and PTFE coating followed by the heat-treatment. PTFE particles were found to be uniformly distributed in the Ni-P matrix. The Ni-P-PTFE coatings showed the excellent anti-adherent property with the contact angle of $104.3^{\circ}$, microhardness of 144.3 Hv comparable to that of Ni-P, and electric conductivity equivalent to that of Ni-P.

음향화학법으로 니켈을 코팅한 알루미나의 제조 및 분석 (Preparation and analysis of nickel-coated alumina by sonochemistry)

  • 알루미나에 니켈을 코팅하는 효율을 높이기 위하여 졸-겔법을 이용하여 비결정성 알루미나를 제조한 후, 음향화학법을 이용하여 니켈을 알루미나에 코팅하여 미립자를 제조하였다. 니켈을 코팅한 알루미나 미립자는 여러 가지 소성온도($500^{\circ}C$, $1,000^{\circ}C$), 니켈용액의 농도(0.01 M~0.2 M), 초음파반응시간 (30 min, 2 h)의 조건에서 제조하였다. 제조한 미분체는 X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-AES), Particle Size Analyzer (PSA)로 특성을 분석하였다. 니켈용액의 농도가 진해짐에 따라 그리고 초음파반응시간이 길수록 니켈의 코팅량이 증가하였다. 알루미나에 니켈을 코팅하는데 있어 $1000^{\circ}C$의 소성온도, 0.1 M의 니켈용액의 농도, 2시간의 초음파에 반응하였을 때 알루미나에 니켈이 가장 많이 코팅되었다. 그리고 평균입자의 크기는 835.9~986.7 nm였다.

열처리 시간에 따른 Ni-P/Cr 이중 도금 층의 계면 거동에 관한 연구 (Effect of Heat Treatment on Interface Behavior in Ni-P/Cr Double Layer)

  • The thermal barrier coating (TBC) for inner wall of liquid-fuel rocket combustor consists of NiCrAlY as bonding layer and $ZrO_2$ as a top layer. In most case, the plasma spray coating is used for TBC process and this process has inherent possibility of cracking due to large difference in thermal expansion coefficients among bonding layer, top layer and metal substrate. In this paper, we suggest crack-free TBC process by using a precise electrodeposition technique. Electrodeposited Ni-P/Cr double layer has similar thermal expansion coefficient to the Cu alloy substrate resulting in superior thermal barrier performance and high temperature oxidation resistance. We studied the effects of phosphorous concentrations (2.12 wt%, 6.97 wt%, and 10.53 wt%) on the annealing behavior ($750^{\circ}C$) of Ni-P samples and Cr double layered electrodeposits. Annealing temperature was simulated by combustion test condition. Also, we conducted SEM/EDS and XRD analysis for Ni-P/Cr samples. The results showed that the band layers between Ni-P and Cr are Ni and Cr, and has no formed with heat treatment. These band layers were solid solution of Cr and Ni which is formed by interdiffusion of both alloy elements. In addition, the P was not found in it. The thickness of band layer was increased with increasing annealing time. We expected that the band layer can improve the adhesion between Cr and Ni-P.
